• how it started :
• one day peter had came into school with a goal.
• he wanted to ask you out.
• what set it off? ever since that day you handed him that pencil that blossomed your friendship in first grade, he had fell in love with you from there. he couldn't take anymore.
• but how does he know he loves you?
• well, for example - your smile is the only thing he can really think about. you're perfect in his eyes.
• and when the time came let's just say he was a nervous, and anxious mess. he was scared of rejection. he was scared of embarrassment. he was scared of losing his best friend. but he was confident and he couldn't take the ache in his heart of you not being his.
• so he thought why not give it a chance?
• as you had many friends, it was hard to get you alone. but somehow with the help of Ned and MJ
• they always work wonders, so what's new?
• peter asked to talk to you outside of the room.
• he then lead you to down the hallway, to your left, away from the view of anyone from your point of view
• "So, Peter what is up?"
• "I-I just I wanted to say" "I-I uh"
• he was trying to prolong himself from rejection he was expecting
• "Take your time Peter. I'll listen" you told him with that same comforting smile peter loved oh so dearly
• that's when peter finally achieved a level of confidence that he wouldn't and couldn't back out from now
• so he finally spoke, clearly way more than planned
• "I like you Y/N. And I mean like like you. I have feelings for you. I think Iove you? Like more than friends. Oh no. I am sorry. I didn't mean too tell you that. God, what have I done. I am sorry I just ruined our friend-"
• "Can I kiss you?"
• peter was then interrupted by pure shock, his jaw basically becoming unhinged, even he was currently trying to hold back his clear shock
• does this mean you like him back? either way he eagerly nodded
• you came closer, and put your hand behind his head
• then your lips landed on his
• peter didn't really know how to kiss, but he kissed back
• he was confused yet so happy. it felt like he was dreaming
• your lips moved in rhythm, as if they connected a piece in a puzzle that has finally been solved
• peter even placed his hand on your cheek
• if peter wasn't blushing before, he definitely was now. the butterflies that fluttered in his stomach were now basically erupting with excitement
• and to you it felt like sparks flying
• peter and you pulled apart for some air. peter looked down completely flustered
• you cupped peter's cheek making him look you in the eye
• "If it isn't already clear, I love you too, Peter."
• he wouldn't have traded this moment for anything in this world. you could say the same.
• little did you know, Ned and MJ were both around the corner watching it go down
• "About fucking time."
• "Agreed."
if you’re too shy (let me know) (pp)
inspired by this euphoria scene. peter helps his longtime crush take nudes that are meant for someone else. angst, tension, thirdwheel!peter. [0.9k]
from fighting back against his long term bully, eugene ‘flash’ thompson, to taking down giant lizards, this was probably the most life threatening, hazardous situation peter has ever gotten himself into. he should honestly be dead by now considering how long he’s been holding his breath in for.
if you’re too shy (let me know) by the 1975 plays in the background while he makes this assumption, soothingly and absently, as if it’s mocking peter. he almost forgets his current position. almost. peter’s on his knees in front of your bed, watching, eyes glazed over, as you reposition yourself above him.
“i feel like that’s good.” you mumble, wrapping your hand around his own that was currently holding your phone at an upward angle. “does it look real? does it look like i’m taking it?” you smiled, eyes wide and still directed at the phone camera.
peter smiles back for a moment before realising that your smile, tight, with your pearly whites exposed, wasn’t for him. no, these were for someone peter didn’t even know the name of, he tries to remember if he even bothered asking.
“maybe try to loosen up a bit, but straighten up your posture, still.” peter tries to smirk, right corner of his lip forcibly pulled up into a desperate attempt at hiding what he truly felt. what he didn’t even know he felt.
there’s something about your stare that makes peter nervous and makes him say things that he doesn’t mean. like just now— you looked perfect and the mystery man on your phone would be lucky enough to even receive one of these photos in the first place.
peter tenses at the thought, god i sound like a simp. serves you right for agreeing to do this, he thinks.
“are you okay? your hand is like— really warm.” your eyes meet his. “no- yeah, yeah, yeah. that’s good. um, maybe tilt your head down a bit.” peter suggested, his other hand that wasn’t under yours motioning at his own chin.
you hummed, muttering a “good call, that angle probably wasn’t doing it for me.” while leaning your head down a bit, eyes meeting the phone lense once again.
peter wanted to say something along the lines of ‘no angle could possibly do that.’ or ‘every angle does it for you.’ but decided against it, considering the fact that you were probably already uncomfortable.
“make me look good.” you mumbled, biting your lips subtlety for the camera. “always.” peter scoffs jokingly, desperately trying to loosen up in his awkward position.
you were in your nicest bra, a baby pink victoria secret one that you contemplated buying for a while. the dainty undergarment had a small heart shaped golden charm tied into it that produced a soft and dreamy glare in front of the camera.
meeting your own eyes in your vanity mirror, the unease finally caught up to you. “this is a really bad angle for me.” “no it isn’t, shut up.” peter murmurs back but his eyes betray his unbothered façade, quickly lifting up to yours, ready to stop the second you get uncomfortable. “how do i turn on grids on this?” peter jokes, hoping to get to see your pretty smile again.
he gets what he wants because a second later you bark out a laugh. “grids? peter this isn’t vogue.” you grin, and the nerdy joke, peter decides, was 100% worth it when he looks up and realises that your gaze is on him.
it takes a moment for him to snakily retort back.
“okay, excuse me for not making this another one of your blurry, horizontal snapchats where you can barley see anything. i’m an artist, you know. i have to hold myself up to a standard. even if they are your nudes.” peter hopes that the lighthearted joke will throw you off on how rigid he was being, and if you hadn’t been throwing your head back laughing at his sarcasm, you would’ve noticed the deep flush in his cheeks.
“you’re such a dork.” you jabbed, lifting the corners of your lips while doing so. “the baby my neighbour paid me to shoot was a better model than you.” he retorts back. and for a while, it’s intimate, the situation. it’s almost something romantic, and peter thinks it’s worth being the third wheel to you and the mystery man on your phone if it means you’re going to smile and laugh at every one of his jokes and looks.
“do you want a couple with portrait mode on?” he jokes, for what he presumes is the forth time. god, parker, give it a rest, he thinks. finally lowering your phone and exiting the camera app. his repetition doesn’t stop you from giggling. “fuck off.”
he hands your phone to you and you move to lay on your stomach, while you scroll through the photos. “wait this one actually looks like i took it.” you look up at peter, grinning. “right?” he’s still on the floor, gaze dreamy, when he replies; “yeah.”
“these are amazing. thanks, pete.” you pick out your favourite one and send it to the mystery man before getting up to put your shirt back on, feeling peter’s eyes on you the whole time.
“are you checking me out?” you laugh, pulling your shirt over your head. the tension between you two materialising as heat in your cheeks.
peter scoffs, “you wish.” thanking god that your shirt was over your head to miss the fact that his eyes were momentarily bulging out of his head.
peter could get used to this, to you, and the sense of intimacy that was involved in being around you.
ding!
“peter, he replied!”
Tony: HYDRATE OR DIE-DRATE!
Tony: *Aggressively throws water bottles*
Y/N: Uh… what’s up with him?
Harley: He’s trying to yell mental health and wellbeing into us.
Tony: I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU!
Peter, crying: It’s working.
Slay
i’ll keep your brittle heart warm.

synopsis : peter was always on your mind, you were always on his, perhaps that would make him a little bit of a distraction.
pairing : frat!peter parker x reader
wc : 1k
warnings : FLUFF FLUFF FLUFFF, uhmmm soft making out !!! other than that… i guess peter being an absolute idiot (a down bad idiot), but even if this is cliché as hell, it’s super cute and fluffy :)

a/n : hi ! sorry the fic is a little late this week, but frat!peter has been on my mind constantly shehhsjsns <3 he’s leaning more towards the peter more than the frat butttt i wanted him to be a little softer for this one :) big big thank you to @strawberrystarcake for the help on the editing, and @toms-gf for giving me the idea (this one is for u hehe)

“parker, you joining us?” the familiar voice echoes from the other side of the room. peter winces, not at all because he was opposed to the idea, but he’d made plans with you.
“uh- i’ll catch up later? i have somewhere to be.” the boys, all spread out in various positions on the couch, smirked and ‘ooo’ed at the implications of that.
liam speaks first. “right, got plans with your girl?” peter nods.
“ooh, you’re so down bad, parker, it’s not even a joke anymore.” james, another one of his friends, gives him a soft shove.
maybe he was right.
peter had never planned for your arrangement to escalate into anything further than a fling, and though he had never been an expert when it came to matters of the heart, he knew that he was too far gone.
it wasn’t uncommon for him to find himself smiling at the thought of you. he was constantly lost in thought, and sometimes, it became difficult to snap him out of his dream-like state.
even when his mind wasn’t completely occupied by the thought of you, he found that you had been living rent free in a certain corner of his mind. he’d catch himself wondering about you or associating little things around him with you.
he wasn’t all too familiar with this feeling, but it wasn’t unpleasant, just confusing to navigate.
he’s never felt this way before. his heart never fluttered at a subtle touch, he never felt like he was melting whenever someone walked into the room, he never felt his heartbeat race at mere eye contact.
but with you? you had him feeling everything all at once.
but, of course, he hasn’t told you this, any of this. but he had a gut feeling that you might feel the same way, and that was enough for him to allow himself to fall deeper, as irrational as it may be.
it was no longer ‘maybe he was right’, and peter knew. to put it simply, he was right.
“better get going, you don’t want your girl waiting on you,” trent blurts, interrupting peter’s train of thought.
“right. i’ll see you guys later?” peter says, the boys nod and wave him goodbye as he walks out the door.
“oh, love.” liam sighs dreamily as the rest of the boys snicker.

as soon as peter enters the library, he’s met with a sense of comforting familiarity. before anything had begun happening between the both of you, you two had spent a lot of your time in the halls of this library. whether it were nights filled with endless work, or simply wandering around in attempt to find books you could read together.
he knew exactly where to find you: a certain corner of the library that you claimed to be ‘warmer and cozier’ than anywhere else.
he spots you browsing the history section, your face scrunched up, clearly focused. he sees all your things, messily laid on top of a wooden table, the one you always use.
he smiles to himself before sneaking behind the bookshelf you were browsing, and just as you pull a book from the shelf, you catch a glint of brown eyes from the other side. you stay silent for a moment, before smiling at one another.
then you shove the book between you two, and the next thing peter hears are quick footsteps.
peter’s utterly confused, he didn’t notice the look of mischief written all over his face.
“baby?” he whisper shouts, scrambling around the area before catching a glimpse of your figure, running from one shelf to another.
then it hits him, you were messing with him.
his look of mischief matches yours once he realizes, he follows quickly behind you, and before you know it, you’re up against a bookshelf, inches away from peter.
“hi.” you send him a cheeky grin, one that he sends right back to you.
“you’re going to drive me crazy.” his eyes gaze softly at yours, before trailing down to your lips.
“i know.” you quip, before moving as fast as you can to try and run away once more.
“ab-up-up.” he tuts, catching you once more. his lips brush softly over yours, lingering for a moment, before he presses his lips against yours. one hand finds its way to your waist, he uses it to pull you closer towards him.
but you find yourself shoving him aside, “peter! this is why i came early!” you slowly make your way back to the table, peter trailing after you like a puppy.
“what do you mean?” it was as if you could hear the pout in his voice, so you don’t allow yourself to look back.
“you’re… very distracting.” you make sure your tone is soft, you didn’t mean it in a negative way and you wanted peter to know that.
“am not!” he takes your hand, turns you around, and suddenly, you’re inches away from him again.
“seriously!? look at what you’re doing!” this time, you couldn’t help but giggle.
“there it is.” he smiles softly, appearing pleased.
“there’s what?”
“that laugh i’ve been waiting to hear all day.” you’re pressed against one another, his warmth surrounded you. “permission to lean in, m’lady?” dork.
“permission granted.”
he leans in, your chest feels warm as your lips make contact.
he cups your cheeks to pull you even closer, if possible, as if letting you go would be the end of him. your hands curl into his hair, you begin to feel goosebumps wherever his hands traveled; down your waist, approaching your thighs as he drew lazy patterns with his fingers.
you could never truly get over the way your lips pieced together perfectly, how it felt like his were caressing yours ever so softly.
whenever your lips part, he whispers soft words you can barely understand, like he’s taking it all in. he finds himself grinning into the kiss, which was apparently infectious, because so were you.
“told you! distraction.”
“oh, shut up.” he says, before pulling you in once more.

okay tasm!peter parker thought!!! he’s obsessed with touching your face. like, when you’re talking about something he’ll just randomly grab your face and smoosh your cheeks. he’ll boop or kiss your nose at random times. most importantly, when he’s kissing you he’ll be holding your face, his big hands on your cheeks guiding your head so he can kiss you better. omg
doughnuts
summary you're really excited about doughnuts. peter really wants to kiss you.
content tasm!peterparker x fem!afab!reader
note this is my first time writing for tasm!peter please forgive me if it sucks.
For the first time in a while, you come home after work with enough excitement to light up the entire flat.
Peter's sitting up in his bed reading when you find him. All things soft with rumpled hair, his clothes even worse, reading glasses perched on the end of his nose. You're not sure if he really needs them anymore, but he likes to wear them to keep an ounce of normalcy.
"Hi," you chirp when he notices you. He dog-ears his book and puts it down almost immediately. You beam.
"Hi, baby," he seems just as happy to see you as you do him. Though, there's a buzz to you that Pete lacks. You think if you got home twenty minutes later he would've been napping.
You move across his room while pushing your work skirt down your legs. Peter's heart skips when it looks like you might trip and he tries to keep his eyes off your soft thighs. You rifle through his draws to find one of his shirts to wear, unbuttoning your own blouse in the process.
"How was your day?" you ask, holding up a shirt to your nose. You choose it because it smells more like your boyfriend than the others.
Peter crumples his face, trying not to laugh. "It was good. Didn't do much - you?"
You say something while pulling the shirt over your face that Pete can't discern. You all but jump into his lap when you reach him. Hooking your thighs over his lap until you're face to face.
He allows you to get comfy, pushing your knees into his side while he sits up, hands finding their place on your hips. "Hello," he says again, much quieter now that you're in his space. You look adorable in his shirt and your work tights.
"Did you hear me?" you ask, basically pulsing with giddy energy. You push your fingers under the hem of his shirt and he short-circuits for a moment.
He blinks. "You had your face in your shirt."
"Right," you giggle, a girlish sound that Peter wants seared in his brain, "I said, you know the food truck around the block?"
"You'll have to be more specific," he says, squeezing at your hips.
"The one that shut down."
"Oh, right. The Jam Van," he laughs knowingly. You'd moped for almost a month when they closed. You were inconsolable.
"Yeah," you grin, poking his chest, "yeah, they reopened!"
You're smiling so hard Peter worries that you'll get stuck like that. With your eyebrows raised and your cheeks appled. He thinks he needs to hold your face like right now.
He lets his hands leave your hips and raises them to hold your cheeks. Your skin is warm under his touch like he expected. "That's great, baby."
You ignore his hands. "Right? It's amazing."
Peter pushes your cheeks together until your lips pout outwards. He thinks you look extremely cute. Even worse when you try to frown and it just looks like a smooshed mess. He wants to laugh but you look peeved.
"Pete," you try to say. It comes out all mumbled.
"Yeah?" he says, distracted by your puffy face.
You pull your face from his hands and struggle a bit. Holding his arms to his chest you say, "Are you even listening to me?"
"The Jam Van," he says nodding. Smarmy.
"Right," you say, still mildly upset, "they're open right now if you wanna..."
"You wanna go get doughnuts?" he asks with his arms still pinned to his body. His hands wriggle to touch you.
"Can we?" you ask, eyes wide with hope. Peter wishes he had his camera with him.
"Can I kiss you first?" he grins boyishly. You wish you had a better resolve. He's awfully pretty and you really want doughnuts.
You let his arms go, huffing like kissing him is a difficult task. "If you really want." You have to hold back a laugh.
He reaches his hands back up to your cheeks and gives them another squeeze, "Of course, I want to."
You let him guide your face down to meet his lips, huffing into his mouth once they meet. You go lax in his lap when he presses firmer, spreading his fingers over your warming cheeks. He tilts your face upwards so he has better access to slip his tongue in your mouth. You whine when he has you exactly where he wants. Putty in his hold, holding you close by your soft cheeks.
You pull away from his lips, blinking away the dizziness. "Pete," you say panting.
Peter licks his lips, "Yeah?"
You push your face into his neck to hide the way he so obviously makes you feel, holding onto his sleep shirt for dear life. You try to even out your breathing and fail.
"You okay, love?" he asks. There's a hint of smartassery you don't miss. He's awful.
"Yeah," you say a tad breathlessly. "Yeah."
He kisses your shoulder and you shudder. His ego swells tenfold. "You sure?"
You take a moment to compose yourself, hating yourself for being so pliable. You sit back to look him in the eye. "So," you say with a confidence you lack, "Jam Van?"
Peter laughs and catches your face again. You like it much more than the first time. "That felt like coercion ."
"You asked to kiss me!" you say bewildered, pushing at his chest with not enough force than you feel is deserved.
"You tricked me," he laughs with you, letting you paw at his chest. It's quite adorable, really.
"Whatever," you say with more heat than you mean, a smile tugging at your red lips. You untangle yourself from his lap and stand to walk away. "I'll get my own jam doughnuts."
Peter smacks your ass before you can get away and you gasp. "Peter Parker!"
"You can't go out like that."
"I'll do what I like!" you call from the other end of the hallway.
Peter chases you around the flat until he gets you in his arms. The doughnuts wait for a few more hours.
Light Sleeper || Peter Parker
A/N: drumroll pleaseeeeee! my first ever peter parker fic!! super excited to write for this fandom bc of been reading a lot of peter lately, be gentle please 🥺 also my last three fics have something to do with sleeping,, so if you couldn’t tell i am in dire need of cuddles LOL.
word count: 900ish
prompts: “Ow, oka- OW, CAN YOU STOP HITTING ME WITH YOUR PILLOW?!” and “you just tried to kill me!”
WARNINGS: there’s like.. one curse word lol. all fluff & laughs here!!

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀* * *
Often times you labeled yourself as a light sleeper, but not the ones that would jolt awake at the sound of a creak in the floors or sirens of ambulance in the street. You were prone to waking up to louder, more abrupt sounds, like the banging of a window.
Which was exactly the sound that woke you up.
So as you stood beside your window, frozen with fear and a death grip on your pillow, you cursed yourself for not taking your brother up on his offer of having the bedroom without the firescape hindering your view of the city.
Your breath was caught in your throat when the perpetrator slowly wiggled your window open, the outline of arms hugging onto the windowsill while they pulled themself through. A squeal of fear left your lips as you smacked down on the back of the figure in the dark with the pillow clutched in your hands — it was your firmest pillow, so it could only do so much damage.
A surprised yelp emitted from the figure, the faint outline of their body showing that they were using their arm to shield their face from your rapid hits. “Y/N!” A voice called out your name, but their words were muffled by the thumps of your pillow whacking their body along with your shrieks.
“Ow, oka- Y/N, CAN YOU STOP HITTING ME WITH YOUR PILLOW?!” The voice pleaded in a shout, hand reaching out to grab something, quickly finding the pull-chain of your nearby lamp and yanking on it. The pitch black that was your bedroom immediately illuminated, exposing all of your decorations as well as the figure in front of you —
Who just so happened to be your boyfriend of almost a year, Peter Parker, who’s face was home to a completely amused, yet horrified expression.
Almost immediately the grip you had on your pillow fell limp, and it slipped from your hands and onto the floor. You stared bug eyed at the boy who was peeking at you between his arms that were still guarding his face, jaw slacked in shock. The stunned look quickly faded to one of frustration as you hissed, quietly, “Peter! What the hell are you doing here?!”
Peter’s arms fell from his face, revealing his navy blue Midtown High sweater that paired with his grey sweats. He was clearly here for more than just a beating from your pillow. You watched as his cheeks flushed a faint pink color under the dim lightly, lips twitching into a shy smile as he opened and closed his mouth to splutter out some sort of explanation.
“I was- I was just- you know, I was swinging around and thought I’d stop by!”
“Stop by at,” You paused, glancing back at your digital clock on your nightstand to read the time while gesturing to it with your hand. “Two in the morning?”
His cheeks darkened at the sight of the smug look on your face, knowing that he was caught in a lie, even if it wasn’t a good one to begin with. Peter scoffed, his warm brown eyes accentuating the soft look on his face as he slowly stepped towards you, snaking his arms around your waist. “I just wanted to steal a few cuddles from my girlfriend,” He mumbled, and your heart practically melted when feeling his lips brush against your forehead, “But she just tried to kill me.”
You gasped mockingly at his teasing words, pulling your head away from his to gape at him with a cheesy grin. “I thought you were a predator!” You exclaimed in between giggles, and the sound of it made Peter join in with you. When the laughter died down, you both held a steady gaze with soft smiles. Your hands were tangled in his soft brown curls, fingers running through them repeatedly and watching as the boy’s eyes begin to flutter shut in enjoyment.
“I’m sorry for beating you with my pillow.” You mumbled, jutting your bottom lip out to help sell yourself. Not that you needed to, you didn’t cause any damage and Peter had forgiven you as soon as he had you in his arms. He simply shook his head, lips curled up into his adorable smile, backing you up slowly until the back of your legs hit the edge of your bed. Once laying you down, Peter carefully climbed over you and settled into the space next to you under the covers, pulling you to his chest.
You let out a content sigh, letting your arms wrap around his torso and your head fall onto his chest. You felt so safe in Peter’s arms, his embrace was like a second home to you. Getting a hug from him never failed to brighten your day or put you at ease, and you were thankful you had someone like him in your life to keep you grounded. Nuzzling your face further into him, your head moving as his chest shook with a chuckle, his arms tightening around your waist as he peppered small kisses to your hair.
As your legs began to tangle together, your breathing began to even out, and the two of you began nodding off to sleep, you felt a lazy smile grow onto your lips.
You were way more appreciative of being a light sleeper from that night on.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀* * *
Ever since you transferred to Midtown High for your sophomore year of high school, you found yourself lacking something that was considered vital to your high school experience — friends.
You weren’t shy, just that most people didn’t seem to spark your interest enough to start a friendship and although you didn’t mind being by yourself, you always wondered what it would be like to have one or two friends to talk to in a few classes, or at lunch. Something other than sitting with the librarian who often sent you pity glances when she thought you weren’t looking, you always caught them though.
You only seemed to be completely content with not having someone tap at your shoulder to whisper something to you while the teacher spoke in one class — chemistry. The love for science you had was overwhelming, you absorbed every ounce of information given to you in each lesson, but of course, you knew bits and pieces of what was being spoken.
“So!” The teacher clapped her hands together to bring your class’s attention to the front. “For the remainder of the period, you all will continue our stoichiometry lesson in groups of two, which will be your lab partners, on the relationship between moles and mass with the today’s experiment. The guide is already taped to your tables.” She announced, eyes scanning over the students who quickly began working on the lab assignment before stilling on you. “Y/N, I know you enjoy working on your own, but I would like for you to join Peter for this assignment.”
Your eyes bulged at the mention of his name. Peter. As in Peter Parker. As in the boy you’ve had a silly little crush on since you started school at Midtown. It wasn’t anything serious, you’ve never spoken to him, but you always thought he was cute — and incredibly intelligent, which was a plus. Swallowing thickly, you scooped up your things from your lab table and shuffled towards the front lab stations, where Peter was located. It was almost as though he was in his own little world, unaware of the fact that the teacher had paired the two of you up together as he scribbled in his notebook. “Excuse me.” You muttered to catch his attention, placing your notebooks on the edge of the table to avoid touching any of Peter’s papers that were sprawled out all over. “Hi.”
His head snapped up in your direction, hand now still instead of writing, and blinked in surprise. You let your gaze drifted down to his papers that were covering what was now your side of the table. “H-Hi. Oh,” Peter gasped, hands reaching out to quickly clear the lab table of his papers. “I’m sorry.” He murmured sheepishly, his cheeks taking up a pale pink color.
“That’s okay, you’re fine.” You dismissed him, sliding into the stool and setting your bag on the floor, looking over the instructions for the lab. A smile appeared on your face once you finished reading and you looked over to Peter, who’s eyes were already on you expectantly. “This lab is fairly easy,” You said, grabbing ahold of your pencil and writing both of your names onto the given worksheet. “We just need to compare the theoretical values to the actual experimental mass once we react the sodium hydrogen with the hydrochloric acid.”
You felt the blood rush to your cheeks when you caught a glimpse at Peter’s stunned expression. His lips curled into an impressed grin before laughing lightly, a teasing tone in his voice when he said, “You sound like you know what you’re doing.”
A let out a few chuckles while turning to face him, a bashful look on your face. “I, uh- I just really love science.” You shrugged, although you made that fact very clear to him with your ramble. “I can work on this while you work on whatever you were before.” You offered, eyes trained on your paper while you calculated the formulas from the lab guide. You were already halfway through, managing to hold your conversation with Peter while getting the work done. Your head shook in disbelief at the thought, you were actually talking to him, not snagging sly glances at him from the back of class or in the hallways. It felt good.
Peter immediately declined, closing his notebook and leaning in closer in attempt to try and help you with the lab. “No, no, it’s fine! It’s nothing anyway.” He insisted, but you watched as his fingers were tapping against the wooden tabletop, itching to go back to writing in his notebook. You scoffed, setting down your pencil and putting the now completed worksheet to the side, crossing your arms over the table. “Yeah, right. Besides, the work is done, so maybe I could help?” You suggested, lips quirking into a smile that he nervously returned.
The brunette opened his mouth, stammering on his own words as he tried to figure out what the tell you. He couldn’t exactly say that he was working on a new web fluid formula for the shooters in his suit, because that would be doing the most irrational thing — exposing himself as spiderman to a girl he barely knew. Peter chewed on his bottom lip as he weighed out the pros and cons of you helping him figure out what he was missing in his formula. You’ve proven yourself to be incredibly smart, and quick when it comes to figuring out formulas.
He eventually nodded, cracking a smile that you eagerly returned. “Okay. Okay, yeah.” He agreed hesitantly, pulling his composition notebook from his side of the desk and in between the both of you. When opening the book, your eyes widened at the multiple formulas scribbled on the lined paper, some crossed out and others not, with the title of the page being ‘Web Fluid’
“‘Web Fluid?’” You read aloud, looking up from the page and to Peter, who was shifting about in his stool, bottom lip worried between his teeth. He felt his heart plummet to his stomach when your eyes narrowed at his anxious state. She knows, Peter thought underneath your suspicious stare. He opened his mouth to try and form some sort of excuse until you interrupted him to ask, “Are you into cosplay?”
It was safe to say that your question caught Peter off guard, with the way that his eyes practically popped out of his head and his cheeks flushed in what seemed like embarrassment. You couldn’t help but laugh at him, the thought of Peter actually being into cosplay and wearing a makeshift spiderman suit made your smile grow larger — it would be too cute.
Peter’s slacked jaw tightened to a grin as he watched you laugh, laughing a little himself and heart warming at the sound. He thought you had a beautiful laugh.
“What?! No, I’m not- I’m not into cosplay!” He cried, though the grin on his face didn’t fade, and neither did yours once your laughter died down. Peter shoved the notebook further into your direction and pointed to the unfinished equation. “Can you just help me, please?”
With a playful roll of your eyes, you slid the notebook in front of you, looking over his scribbles. You let out a hum while writing over some equations, brows raising at his overall impressive work. “I know what you’re missing,” You scooted your stool closer to Peter and tilted the page in his direction so he could see what parts of the formula you tweaked. “Whatever Spider-man’s webs are made out of, is relatively close to nylon. Flexible and durable. So since you don’t want to bring nylon to your cosplay parties,” You paused, giving him a pointed look, a few giggles following shortly when he sent you a playful glare. “You need to figure out a component mixture that that forms a tough, flexible fiber when it contacts air, yet doesn’t interfere with the foaming agent it mixes with for the inflation capacity you’re using here.”
You inhaled deeply, catching up on the amount of air you lost from explaining your theory and giving yourself a brief nod of approval before meeting Peter’s gaze. Feeling the blood rush back to your face once again, you couldn’t help but notice the way his brown eyes were swirling with something — admiration. “What?” You asked shyly, your hand finding its way to your face in attempt to cool down your heated skin. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Peter’s face held a dazed smile, dark brown eyes gone soft, and his chin was in the palm of his hand as he propped his elbow on the table. He looked straight out of a rom-com — and you really liked it. He simply shrugged, brown locks bouncing slightly at the movement.
“You’re really—”
Pretty. Peter had the urge to say pretty.
“Smart.”
Your lips parted to speak, but the shrilling sound of the bell cut in on you, signaling your lunch period. You slouched in your seat, not wanting to leave chemistry — not wanting to leave Peter. It was the most interaction you’ve gotten in a while, that was actually enjoyable, with someone you really liked and you didn’t want it to end. When you looked to the teenage boy next to you, he was wearing a similar solemn expression.
As you began to collect your stuff and shrug on your backpack, Peter’s hand quickly reached out to grasp your arm, making you almost immediately stop in your tracks. Turning on your head, you were met with Peter’s wary gaze and nervous smile.
“Do you- Do you want to go to lunch with me?” Peter asked, his thumb jutting over his shoulder towards the direction of the cafeteria, rocking on the back of his heels. You found yourself beaming at his invite, laughing lightly at how flustered he was. Deciding to have a little fun, you raised a teasing brow, asking, “Why?”
Instantly, Peter’s nerves visibly worsened, his hands going to grip on the straps of his backpack as his tongue darted out to wet his lips. “To, you know, help with the web-cosplay-thing?” His voice rushed and raised barely an octave at the end, his lips then pursing in regret at his choice of words when your face lit up with amusement.
“So you admit it? You’re into cosplay?” You asked eagerly, a laugh threaded in your words that made Peter’s shoulders seemingly relax. He let out a noise similar to a whine, throwing his head back while taking a few short steps in the direction all the other students in the hallway were going. “I’m not into cosplay, Y/N! Do you want to go with me or not?”
The smug smile on your face waved into a gracious one, and when your playful teasing was finally put to rest, your heart swelled at the settling reality — Peter wanted to spend more time with you, outside of the chemistry lab.
So, readjusting the books in your arms, you sent Peter a nod, catching up to his retreating figure and nudging your elbow against his arm with a crooked smile.
“Lead the way, Parker.”

WARNINGS: angst. cursing, and heartbreaking in my opinion.

You didn’t understand.
You definitely weren’t the ‘go-getter’ type, nor were you the kind of girl who just says what’s on their mind or heart. When the cook at a restaurant got your order wrong, you would smile and say ‘thank you’ instead of letting them know. You’re the kind of person that would stick around with whoever you were with until they were ready to go instead of finding a comfortable place to be by yourself. So when you had feelings for a boy, a boy like Peter Parker, it would be almost instinctive to either deny or hide those feelings as best as you could.
But you didn’t do either.
Instead, when the class got back to the hotel in Prague, you marched up to his hotel room with your hand curled into a fist, ready to confess your feelings for him when his door was yanked open. He was staring at you in shock while you gaped at him before nervously smiling and asking to talk. When his eyes moved away from yours and onto something ahead, you didn’t think much of it — but god, you wished you did.
You managed to do the hard part, and confessed how you felt to Peter. Granted, the message was relayed in a mixture of needless, nervous rambles. Your cheeks were red and you felt like your body was lit on fire under his eyes. Your heart was racing, but it practically stopped when he stepped forward, face inching towards yours and eyes closing shut. You stood frozen in place, letting his lips close to space between yours.
You let him kiss you.
But what you didn’t understand was how Peter could do something like that after what you had confessed to him, yet have his arms wrapped around another girl while their lips molded together. His eyes were shut and his pleasure filled face held a red tint. However, you knew Peter, and you knew he had a sixth sense, so you watched as his eyes sprung open during the kiss and began to swell with fear.
That was when your vision was blurred with tears.
He didn’t pull away from the girl, rather letting the kiss carry on with his eyes trained on you until she decided to pull away. She did eventually, and you could faintly hear the shy laughs they shared from where you were. You watched a few words be exhchanged and you wanted the floor to swallow you whole every time his eyes flickered to yours. Then, like anybody would, she turned around.
And when MJ sent you a tight lipped smile, it made sense. As much as it pained your heart to admit, you finally understood. The night before, you were looking for Peter, and he was looking for her.
Tears rolled down your cheeks as you scoffed, your arms wrapping around your body to act as a shield when MJ walked towards the entrance doors of the hotel, and Peter approached you hesitantly. The lights from inside the hotel was enough to see his tear-pricked eyes and guilty face when he was close enough in front of you. There was an aching silence between the two of you, but you didn’t dare to break it. You couldn’t bring yourself too.
“I’m sorry.” Peter whispered, his voice cracking as he tried to swallow down the rising bile in his throat. You brought your arms closer to your chest, chewing on the inside of your cheeks to try and prevent the new wave of tears threatening to spill. You didn’t meet his burning gaze, strictly staring past him. You couldn’t meet his eyes, hearing his voice told you enough. He was guilty, but wasn’t apologizing for what he did — he was apologizing for being caught.
It was silent again, and just as painful as the last time. You were racking your brain for something to say, questions popping up one after the other and it made your head throb, so you settled on the simplest one yet, asking, “Why?”
If it were any louder, you were certain Peter wouldn’t have been able to hear you. There was about six feet of space between the two of you, a brutal opposite to the night before — the memory made your stomach churn. With furrowed brows, Peter’s lips parted to speak, but after a few split moments, his mouth shut.
“I don’t know.”
Hearing his words made your head snap in his direction, a bewildered yet angry look in your eyes as you gaped at him. “You don’t know?” You repeated, taking a bold step forward with a clenched jaw. “You let me fall for a lie, Peter. Had I not been outside of this damn hotel, you wouldn’t have stop kissing MJ.” You spat through gritted teeth, feeling yourself grow hot at the fact that he was acting this way. Acting so remorseful for something he wanted to do.
You watched as Peter’s hand repeatedly clenched at his side, and he looked away from you. From this angle you could see a single tear fall from the corner of his glazed eyes. He was holding back, but you didn’t want him to. You wanted to truth.
“Y/N, you know I’ve liked MJ for a while now.” He muttered, actively avoiding your pained expression and flinching at the sound of your dry laugh. You knew this, you knew that Peter has had this crush on MJ since your sophomore year — so about a little over a year. Knowing this made telling Peter how you felt all the more nerve-racking, but it didn’t matter, he made the confusing choice of kissing you, and in turn complicated everything.
“Then why did you kiss me?!” You shouted, the sound of your voice echoing into the dark night. It was poetic, really. Getting your heart broken by the boy you love on a beautiful bridge at midnight in Europe. “It doesn’t matter!” Peter was now facing you, his heaving chest pairing with his bloodshot eyes that locks with your own. “This isn’t a game of bachelor, Peter.” You sniffled, casting your gaze away from him to get a chance to breathe because every time you looked at him, your throat closed up.
“So,” Peter cleared his throat, but the lump remained, making his voice strain. “So what are you saying?”
What were you saying? You didn’t exactly know. What you did know, however, was that as strong as you felt for Peter, you were not going to let yourself be treated second. Your bottom lip trembled as you released a shaking breath, locking with his.
“I’m saying you have to choose.”
As his eyes bored into yours, as the tension grew painfully thick in the silence, you knew. Just by the look in his eyes. The look in his brown orbs wasn’t one of someone who didn’t want to choose, it was the look of someone who didn’t want to tell you they weren’t choosing you.
And you knew.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀* * *
“I’m just saying!” Your friend, Lina, held her hands up in defense while you looked at her incredously. “He was too much of a nice guy! Guys like him always have something wrong with them.”
It’s been a few weeks since the incident with Peter that went down during your class trip to Europe, and by now, you have told your two closest friends, Lina and Meredith, who were absolutely livid upon hearing the news when you came back to the states in shambles. Meredith stared at the blue haired girl with a slacked jaw, her hand reaching over to flick her in the forehead. “God, Lina, you can’t just say shit like that! Y/N has been in love with him for like, ever.”
“You guys!” You sighed, crossing your arms over the cafeteria table and shaking your head at the both of them. “I’m right here, you know. You guys have been talking about what happened for the past fifteen minutes.”
The girls stared at you solemnly, casting their gazes down when the guilt began to eat at them. “We’re sorry, Y/N, it’s just- I can’t believe he would do that to you, his best friend of all people, and not have a care in the world flaunting his relationship with MJ like he didn’t hurt you to get it.” Lina said gently, placing her hand on top of yours and squeezing it.
She was right, both of them were. However, as hurtful as it was, you didn’t want to dwell on it forever. Sure, he made you believe in something false, but you’d rather say it could’ve been worse.
“Listen, I’m fine!” You laughed lightly, sending both girls a tight lipped smile which they weakly returned. “What’s done is done, and if he’s happy with MJ and how things turned out then.. then so be it.” You finally said, brushing off the fact that your words were beginning to sound like they were moreso said for you then for them. As you waited for a response from one of the two, your brows scrunched together when watching Meredith’s gaze drift and her elbow jutting into Lina’s side to bring it to her attention. “Mer, what’re you looking a..” Your voice trailed off as you turned around in your seat, eyes widening at the sight before you.
Peter.
“Can- Can I talk to you?” His voice stuttered with hesitance, averting his eyes away from the two girls behind you that were staring at him with vicious glares and kept them on you. “Please?”
A small huff came from your nose, and you turned around to send a simple nod to Lina and Meredith before getting up to follow behind Peter.
He ended up leading you into an empty science room, deserted lab tables with the lights turned off to leave the skylight from the windows to do it’s job. With crossed arms, you watched as Peter grew anxious. Even with his back to you, you knew that he was most likely fidgeting with his fingers while he was bouncing on his foot.
“I lied.” said Peter suddenly.
He turned around to face you, and you could now see his hands quickly wringing together. You stared at him blankly, cocking your eyebrow up at him to silently tell him to carry on.
“I do know why I kissed you that night in Prague.” He admitted, watching carefully as your eyes slightly widened at the confession. Too many questions whizzed around in your head in that moment, it was beginning to overwhelm you. “It wasn’t because I was trying to spare your feelings, or to make you feel good. It was because I like you- no, no, I love you.” Peter’s eyes never strayed from yours as he spoke clearly, and for the first time talking to him since that night, he didn’t stutter. He meant it.
The thought alone made tears prick your eyes.
“Why are you telling me this, Peter?” You croaked, your tearful eyes searching his wide ones frantically. He was with MJ, you thought. He chose her, he’s happy with her — so why was he telling you all of this now?
Peter pursed his lips, letting his gaze fall to the floor as if there was something of interest there. “Because I-” He sighed, his shoulders tense with nerves before he boldly caught your stare, saying, “I made a mistake.”
A mistake. The words nearly made you laugh.
“A mistake?” You repeated, lips parted to just let it all out before you stopped. Instead, a scoff emitted from your throat, pairing with your shaking head. “There was no mistake in what you did, Peter. You chose her and-”
“And it should’ve been you.” He interrupted, daringly taking a small step forward that you allowed, only because you were too in shock at what he said. You stood there, frozen with a slacked jaw and bulging eyes. His words should’ve have, but they managed to pull at numerous heart strings and make your stomach churn. “It should’ve been you because it’s always been you, Y/N. I made a mistake because, I-I don’t know maybe I didn’t want to accept the truth, or maybe I didn’t want it to ruin anything. But I’m here now because I love you.”
Hearing his words should’ve made your heart flutter. You should’ve let a smile so wide it made you squint, take over your face. You should’ve jumped into his arms and kissed him ‘til the end of time because he does feel the same way.
But you didn’t.
Instead, you let the tears roll down your face. You looked away from him, and let your arms fall at your sides. “No.” You shook your head, looking up to see confusion swirl about it Peter’s brown eyes. “If you loved me, you wouldn’t have to be with another girl to realize it. If you loved me, you wouldn’t have told me, to my face, that you’re reasoning for kissing MJ was because you’ve liked her for a long time.”
You shook your head at him in disbelief, slowly backing up towards the door of the science room and placing a steady hand on the handle. Your fingers brushed at your cheeks to rid them of the tears that fell, and you sniffled, straightening out your composure.
“You may have made a mistake, Peter, but I will not let you hurt two girls in the process of making yourself happy.”
With that, you turned away from him, walking through the door and back to your friends who stared at you expectantly.
Peter stayed there. He stood in the front of the science lab with a dazed look in his glazed eyes, jaw clenched shut. Then, he let the tears fall. The tears he held in until you left, he let them glide down the sides of his face while putting his head in his hands.
He made a mistake, and he was going to have to live with that forever.
P.s I love you

Peter Parker x fem!Reader
It was around midnight and I was sitting down at my desk, trying to complete my English paper that's due in the morning. I was finishing up the 3rd paragraph when I heard the sound of light tapping noises on my window. Knowing it was most likely my boyfriend Peter, I got up and walked over to the window, opening it for him.
When I pulled back the drapes, a light gasp escaped my mouth at the sight that was in-front of me. Peter was in his spiderman suit, which was littered with rips and stains. He had a black eye, a busted lip, and his entire body was stained with what I believe, and in the back of my mind, what I hoped, was his own blood.
I quickly unlocked the window, helping him in. "What the hell happened to you?" I whisper shouted.
He lifted his right leg over, stumbling into my room. I quickly grabbed onto his arm, trying to help him stabilize. I dragged him over to my bed, kneeling down in front of his legs, to examine his current state.
He had his head down, trying to not make eye contact with me. I let out a huff of annoyance as I got up from my kneeling position, "Wait here," I said, leaving my room so I could get some supplies.
Once I came back, he was sitting down on my bed, with the top of his suit off, revealing his toned abs. I walked over towards him, crouching down, giving him my best disappointed look. "Look—" He started, but I cut him off.
"I don't want to hear it."
Was that a little harsh? Yes, yes, it was.
But in my defense, he promised me that he'd take a break from fighting today, since he was already badly injured from a fight he had lost a few days ago. It hasn't even been 4 hours and he has already broken his promise.
Once I finished cleaning the blood off his face and chest, I left the room once again to dump out the blood-soaked water and to wash my hands. "Y/n, please don't be mad at me," Peter said, giving me his puppy dog eyes.
I ignored him, walking over to my dresser, pulling out a pair of basketball shorts and an oversized t-shirt, which originally belong to Peter. I tossed it at him, sitting down at my desk so I could finish my essay.
A couple minutes go by and I hear him shuffling around. I assume, so he could change out of his suit. "Y/n—" He whined, hugging me from behind, and sticking his head into my neck.
"What?" I replied, harshly.
He spun my chair around so I was facing him. "I'm sorry," he said, taking my face into his hands and pressing a light kiss to my lips.
"Please forgive me?"
"Fine, but you better not show up at my window tomorrow all bloody," I said, pointing my index finger at him and giving him a jokingly stern look.
"yes ma'am," he laughed, pressing another kiss to my lips.
"Can we cuddle now?" He opened his arms wide, giving me a goofy smile.
I laughed at his expression. "I got to finish this." I said, showing him my computer.
"I'll do it for you if we can cuddle right now." He offered, raising an eyebrow.
"Fine," I gave in, knowing that if he did my assignment, I would most likely get a higher grade on the paper than I would if I did it.
I stood up from my chair to be immediately thrown over his shoulder. He walked over towards my bed, throwing me harshly on it before he got in as well, laying down on top of me and burying his head into the crook of my neck, his hair tickling me a little. "Good night Petey," I said.
He took his head out of my neck, giving me a disgusted look, making me laugh once again at his face expression. "Night," He mumbled, falling asleep on me.
*** The next morning, I woke up to be greeted by an empty bed. I groaned, sitting up as I looked at the clock. A small gasp escaped my lips when I realized that I was about to be late for school. I got up, sloppily putting on my outfit, before walking over towards my desk, praying that Peter hadn't forgotten to do the assignment. I scrolled down, feeling my heart flutter at what he had written. Not only did he finish my paper, but he also wrote a brief note at the bottom.
'Sorry, I had to leave. I didn't want to deal with Aunt May. Meet me under the bleacher at lunch. PS. I love you.'

"Here she is," the nurse says gently, walking you out with his arm behind your back. "Alright, say hi to Peter."
"Hi, Peter," you mumble, eyes on the floor.
Peter grins at you, worry warm at the back of his throat. "Hey. Is that everything?" he asks, nodding at the nurses paper bag of aftercare.
"Everything you'll need." The nurse helps Peter take over, hoisting your arm over his shoulders before stepping away. "Alright, feel better, okay? And don't hesitate to call if something comes up. We're here to look after you."
You seem appreciative in your fog, but it's hard to tell. Peter curls his arm around your hip and gives it a soft rub as he leads you to the stairs. Whoever devised the floor plan here had murder on their mind —the second floor is completely inaccessible. Luckily, Peter has a lot of strength at his disposal.
You can feel it. "Woh, you're strong," you murmur.
"You know that already." His grip on you tightens, pretty much carrying you down the tight staircase.
"Do I?" you ask. You make a sound like you're hurting, a squeak.
"I'd hope so." At the end of the staircase, he sits you down, worried you're not feeling well. "You okay? I can princess carry you if you need me to."
You look at him with wide eyes. He turns to check there's no one standing behind him, but you're really looking at him. "What?" he asks, touching your knee, imploring. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
"You're Peter?" you ask.
Ah, the amnesiac effect of anaesthetic. His touch turns comforting, stroking your thigh with as much care as he can drive into his palm alone. "That's me. Hey, if you're forgetting me, does that mean you're not mad at me for last Friday anymore? 'Cos I know you said you forgive me but I can tell it still pisses you off–"
Your eyes fall to his hand. "Why would I be mad at you?" you ask.
"I finished the milk and put the carton back in the fridge, even though I promised I'd stop doing it. You see the jug and think there's milk left. We were gonna have macaroni and cheese..." He nudges your fingers with his. "Are you okay? You don't look like yourself."
"What do I usually look like?"
"Not so, you know. Daunted."
"You're really handsome," you whisper, refusing to meet his eye.
"Oh, you think so?"
You nod like your head is too heavy. You're embarrassed, you sweetheart, oh my god Peter could cry into your lap.
"Let's get you to the car, baby."
"Where are we going?" The gauze gives you the world's most adorable lisp, and it turns your gasp into a hum as Peter stands you up.
"Home."
"Together?"
"Yeah, we live together. It's a nice place, and you're a great decorator, you know? It's cozy."
"Thank you," you say shyly.
You're not not shy with him, but it's been a long time since you got so quiet over a practically innocuous comment. He wants to see how you'll react to real compliments, over the top stuff that he one hundred percent means. It's a little mean, but when will you ever be like this again?
He helps you out past the desk and onto the street to your car where it's parked a half a block down. "Don't worry about all this, okay? I'm gonna take such good care of you, sweetheart. There's an ice pack and a brand new comforter with your name on it waiting at home." Peter smiles at your starry eyes as they flash to his, amazed at his simple plans. "How does that sound, beautiful? Is there anything you want before we head home? Anything that would make you feel better?"
"You're gonna take care of me?" you ask breathlessly.
"That's my job. That's my number one boyfriend duty."
"You're my boyfriend?"
"I am!" he says happily, laughing as he speaks. "For a while. I've been trying to take things further but you're always really shy about getting married–"
"You want to get married? To me?"
Peter presses a soft kiss to your cheek. "You're the only person I'd ever want to get married to. We already picked the flowers–"
"We did?"
He laughs again, all your questions. He loves regular you but loopy you is especially endearing. "Last time I got super drunk, yeah. You never let me forget it."
"So you love me?" you ask, stopping short.
"I love you so much," he says immediately, hugging you into his side. He dots another kiss against the top of your head. "You should remember that even if you don't remember me."
"I love you," you say quietly.
Peter doesn't know if that's your memory returning, or if you've fallen in love with him in the last fifteen minutes. He could easily fall in love with you that quickly, and yet he's still amazed at your confession.
"That's good. That's great. Thank you, sweetheart," he says, desperate to hold your face in his hands but weary of causing you future pain. "There's your car," —he points, lowering his head to yours to make sure you can see it, hand now protectively held between your shoulder blades— "let's go home now. Yeah?"
You start walking again at his requests. He can pretty much see the steam rising off of your face, giddy with happiness at these revelations. You're together, you're in love, and you think he's handsome. He wonders what you'll have to say about his biceps in this state of delirium; you go crazy for his arms sober.
Which reminds him.
"I totally have another secret to tell you," he says, unlocking the car as you approach and helping you into the passenger seat.
"What is it?" you ask.
Peter closes you in and skirts around the door, climbing into the driver's seat. He's glad that New York is as ridiculously loud as ever, because not even the closed doors or your sodden gauze can smother the way you shriek.

“happy birthday peter!” you yell happily and he chuckles as the tears fall down his face “today you would have been 17. i have a birthday cake here with spider man on it, it may be a little silly but i don’t care because the cake is absolutely adorable. i just wanted to wish you a happy birthday i love you”
he listens to every single voice mail over the span of three days, he opens that last one left and listens.
“hey peter we’re hopefully going to get you back today, i’m so excited to see you. i think tony may be more excited to see you than i am but don’t tell him i told you that. i cant wait to see you and i love you so much”
peter puts his phone down and smiles knowing that over five years you never forgot him.

la vie en rose (peter parker)
Buildings blur past him as he swings above the busy Manhattan streets. The crime activity has been suspiciously low tonight for Peter.
Not that he was complaining, it was nice to have a minute to breathe.
He picks a tall skyscraper to land on. Once he settles himself on the edge, he takes the brown paper bag out of his worn backpack. A bright pink sticky note stuck to the front catches his eye. Peter can’t help the grin that breaks across his face when he sees it’s a note from her. Her being the most sweet, most caring, most beautiful person he knew.
Aside from his aunt of course but that was different.
‘To my Spidey,
Be careful out there! I’m counting the seconds until you’re back to me again.’
Yeah it was cheesy, but that was his girl. Inside was a simple ham and cheese sandwich with a package of sour gummy worms and water. He unwrapped the foil and took a bite. Swinging his legs over the ledge, he takes in the view in front of him. The sun was setting, creating a sky full of soft pinks and oranges blended together. He wishes Y/N was here next to him. She always liked to watch the sun set behind the skyline. Making a mental note of the time and building, he promises himself that he’ll swing her up here sometime. He takes out his biology homework and balances the textbook across his legs. By the time he’s finished the contents of his lunch and gotten through most of his assignments, it has gotten a lot darker. Neither his spidey sense or Karen has detected anything happening around him in the past hour. He decides that it’s time to call it a night and swing his way back to Queens. Packing up his things, he throws the straps of his bag over his shoulders and secures the buckle around his chest. Jumping off the building, he webs the next and propels himself through the streets once again.
He knows he should probably go straight home. May always worries when he stays out this late, but he feels like he needs to go to see her. The time passes by fast and he instantly finds himself perched on her fire escape. The curtains to her room are drawn but he can see the yellow glow of her bedside table shine through. He taps lightly against the glass. Within seconds, the curtains and window are flung open. He barely has time to look at her before she is burying her face in his chest. His arms wrap around her as he slips through into her room without letting her go. She sniffles into the fabric of his suit. His heart aches at the sound.
Moments pass before he speaks. “Are you alright, love?” He feels dumb as he lets the question fall past his lips. Of course she isn’t alright. Still she mumbles, “I’m fine, just a little stressed out with school and everything. I feel stupid, it’s nothing to cry about. I’m just dramatic. I missed you.”
He strokes her hair and eases her away from him so he can look at her face.
“You’re not dramatic, it’s okay to be stressed.” He takes in her red eyes and he’d do anything to make her feel better in that moment. “I missed you too. Thanks for the note.” She doesn’t respond but manages a weak smile at him. Suddenly he has an idea.
He takes her hand in his and pulls her out of the room, down the hall, and into the living room.
“What are you doing?” She questions but she lets herself smile at his sudden enthusiasm.
“You’ll see.” Moving around the room he pushes the sofa against the wall and then the coffee table follows suit. The middle of the room is stripped bare with her still standing in the center. Walking over to the speaker, he connects his phone and scrolls for a minute until finally tapping the screen. The sound of soft music fills the room. She recognizes the opening notes as her favorite song. Louis Armstrong’s cover of La Vie En Rose. Warmth blooms in her chest as Peter walks towards her, extending his hand to her. He wraps his arm around her waist as she rests her cheek against his chest. The sway in time to the jazz instrumental. She can feel the vibrations in his chest as he hums along to the words. Closing her eyes, she sighs and melts into him with a small giggle. Peter holds her closer as his heart lifts when he hears her laughter. They stay pressed together with him whispering words of love and soft kisses into her hair. The only thing Peter knows for sure is that he’s not going to be the first to let go. He would be perfectly content staying right here with this girl in his arms forever. He sings the final lines softly, only for her to hear.
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La Vie En Rose
paper rings | peter parker (soulmate au)
Tomorrow was your seventeenth birthday. You were finally going to be linked to your soulmate. Everyone’s connection was different. Some saw specific colors, others shared emotions. Your parents had been the latter. The bond does not show itself until both soulmates are seventeen. You will admit that your heart was yearning and hoping that it would be one specific person. Peter Parker. You were in the same chemistry class as the honey-eyed brunette. The pair of you have never exchanged more than a few words to each other in the two years that you had been classmates, much to your dismay. From the second that you had laid your eyes on him freshman year, you had been his. Today, walking into school had been anxiety ridden for you. While on the train to school, your head was taken up with the thought of soulmates.
Would your infatuation with Peter suddenly disappear? What if it didn’t? Wouldn’t your soulmate eventually find out your affection was so focused on someone else? What if Peter was your soulmate?
No, that is just wishful thinking on your part. Walking up the stone steps, you reached the entrance of Midtown High. As cliche as it sounds, you felt your heart skip a few beats as you walked through the double doors. Peter was standing by his locker, shifting through stacks of paper, with a pen loosely hanging between his lips. Feeling your stare, he looked up and gave you a lopsided smile that wrapped your heart in warmth. Quickly, your eyes flutter towards the grounds as you feel your cheeks heat up at being caught. Walking past him, you flash him a smile as you go to find MJ, who would surely be waiting for you by your locker. You greet her with a flustered smile and she eyes you suspiciously.
“What’s up with you? Your cheeks are the color of strawberries.” She lifts a finger and pokes at your left cheek.
“It’s nothing.” You assure her as you hide your face behind your locker door.
“Mhm, this wouldn't have anything to do with a certain nerd named Peter Parker, now would it? She says with a smirk lighting up her features. “You know, if you just talked to him you could already be his girlfriend.”
“As if, MJ.” You scoff at her. You and Peter are barely acquaintances at this point in time. He would smile at you when you make eye contact and make small talk at the science tables, but that was the extent of it. You were his chemistry seat partner, that’s all.
“What do you mean? Never forget that you’re the one that’s out of his league.”
“Sure,” You sigh. MJ had always seen the best in people, even if she was a tad guarded. “Tomorrow is my birthday anyways. I’m gonna find my soulmate.” You do smile a little at the thought. It is important to be independent, but it would be nice to find a forever with someone.
The two of you walk to English and take your seats.
The day passes by, and you are finally on your way home. Your apartment was empty, there was a note on the counter from your parents saying they wouldn’t be home for dinner and that there was money on the table for pizza. They were rarely ever home, due to their busy work schedules, but you were used to it. Kicking off your shoes, you make your way to your bedroom to start your homework. As the time goes by, you try not to stress about your soulmate situation. The closer it got to 12, the more anxious you became. Finally, the moment had come as your clock switched from pm to am. You let out a breath and waited. Nothing happened. You didn’t feel any different. Furrowing your brows, you go to the mirror to search for some marking, which was the most common form of soulmate matching. There was nothing to be found. You sat on your bed hoping to feel anything from your soulmate’s end. All you could feel and hear was silence. Maybe your soulmate hadn’t turned seventeen yet. Then a terrible thought had occurred to you. What if you had no soulmate? It was rare but there had been a few cases of people who had no bond. You were reaching all kinds of scenarios in your head when you heard your parents walk through the front door. You rush under the covers and pretend to be asleep, so they don’t ask you questions that would make you cry in your fragile state. You hear the door open and hushed whispers are shared, before it is closed once again. Falling asleep, you try not to focus on the worst case scenarios.
You are woken up by a loud voice. Startled, you glance over at your clock to see that it is 3am. There are two voices speaking about salicylic acid? Confusion and alarm are at the forefront of your emotions. There was no radio on, yet the voices continue to converse about science. Opening your window, you stick your head out and try to find the source, but the voices seemed to be directly in your head. An epiphany strikes you. It has to be your soulmate bond. A smile lights up your features as you finally understand. It was a rare connection to have. Music. You and your soulmate could hear whatever music- or in your case, podcast- the other was listening to. An excited giggle forces it way out of your throat as you listen to scientific procedures. Why your soulmate would be up at 3am and listening to a science podcast was beyond you, but you were relieved to know that you were not without a soulmate. You thought about putting on your own music to let them know that you were there, but you didn’t want to disturb your other half. Your eyelids grow heavy and you are once again drifting back to sleep with thoughts of the periodic table.
Waking up at 6 am on a Saturday with just 4 hours of sleep under your belt was not difficult to do when you were excited for the prospect of hearing whatever your soulmate heard. There had been no new sounds in your mind since this morning, but you knew that if you began listening to a song, they would hear it and be as surprised as you had been. You had spent the morning racking your brain for the perfect song to play your soulmate. Nothing too heavy, you wanted a soft introduction. Searching your Spotify playlist, you found the perfect song. Holding your breath, you press play on Taylor Swift’s Invisible String. The intro starts and you wait. The song plays and finishes without interruption. You don’t play anything, hoping for some sort of response. Your heart is beating out of your chest as the same opening intro is played back before stopping. It worked, they had heard you! Excitement coursed through your veins. Freaking out, you look for another song to play for your soulmate. After half an hour, there had been no response. You were disappointed, but you brushed it off as your soulmate just getting busy. Around 8, you decided to take a quick shower. Normally, you would be playing music and singing in the shower, but you didn’t want to bother or annoy your soulmate. The silence was awkward for you. Brushing your hair, you decided to throw caution to the wind and play your everyday playlist. The soft sound of Clairo’s Bags fills the room. You keep the volume low as you hum and sing along. Then, Paper Rings starts playing and you can’t help but turn it up a little and sing into your hairbrush. You finish your nightly routine and head to bed. The weekend went by with no sounds on your soulmate’s end. It was frustrating to say the least, but you tried not to get worked up about it. Lover had been your album of choice for the weekend. Paper Rings had been on repeat for almost 2 days straight. You couldn’t help it. The song just elevated your mood. And with the mountain of assignments you had to do, you needed the boost. You popped your headphones in and started your walk to school. Taylor Swift accompanies you through your subway stops. Walking through the doors, your eyes immediately go to Peter’s locker. He’s standing and talking to Ned. He looks up when you enter and waves at you. You take out your headphones and pause your music to wave back at him. His hand stops its movement as soon as you begin waving back. He seems to be frozen in place as his mouth parts in disbelief. You drop your hand and your smile, thinking that you had done something wrong and cringe internally. Wrapping up your headphones, you walk past Peter, whose eyes are following you. His expression stays the same. Turning the corner, you run to MJ, telling her about your soulmate and your bizarre interaction with Peter.
“Wait,” she interrupts your rambling about how Peter reacted to your wave. “You waved at Peter? That’s so unlike you. Maybe that’s why he freaked.”
Thinking about it, Peter doesn’t usually wave at you when you walk in. Normally the two of you would exchange only a smile in the mornings.
Sliding into your seat in Chemistry, your leg bounces as you psych yourself up to talk to Peter. You wanted to get past the shy responses you always gave him. Having a soulmate had built up your confidence and you were ready to try and be Peter’s friend. You catch his eyes as he walks through the door frame and into the classroom. Your heart flutters, but you will the feeling away. You had a soulmate out there and it was not Peter Parker. This time it is him who averts his gaze and blushes. He walks down the aisle to his normal seat next to you. For some reason, you are hyper aware of his proximity today and you want nothing more than to melt into his side. You shake the thought from your head. What is up with you today? You turn to him.
“Hi, Peter.” Your voice sounds small amongst the loudness of the room, but his head perks up to look at you.
“Hi, Y/N. Wow, you’ve never been the one to talk first.” He laughs, but stops as he sees your face fall. You hadn’t wanted to seem standoffish, you were just painfully shy around him.
“I’m sorry, I-I” You blush a scarlet red as you stumble over your words.
“N-No, don’t apologize. It was just surprising. I’m glad you’re talking to me,” He assures you with a gentle, close-lipped smile and a hand on your arm. Warmth spreads around the area where his palm meets your cardigan. You could sigh at the feeling. “Happy Birthday, by the way. Big seventeen.” He rubs his neck.
“Yeah, thank you. I didn’t know you knew about my birthday.”
“MJ told me.” You nod at his rushed explanation and a comfortable silence washes over. Peter breaks it by asking you a question. “Sorry if it’s personal, but did you find out what your soulmate bond was? Y-you don’t have to answer, I’m just curious.”
Before you could answer, the teacher began explaining the assignment for today. You and Peter finished the paper just as the bell rang, signalling the end of the class period. Peter offers to walk with you to your locker. You nod in acceptance. You break the silence once you reach your locker.
“Um I did get my soulmate bond by the way, it’s bizarre. Mine is a music connection, but my soulmate has only listened to one science podcast so far. It was at 3 in the morning too.” You laugh and look over to see Peter looking at you with the same expression from this morning. You see him duck down to pull his phone out of his backpack and frantically untangle his headphones.
His movements were startling and you reached a hand out to his shoulder. “Are you okay, Peter?”
He doesn’t respond. His tongue pokes out of the side of his mouth, as he concentrates on his task. He finally untangles the knots and plugs in the wire, with the headphones situated in his ear. He taps away at the screen. All of a sudden, you hear the all too familiar opening of Paper Rings, your song of choice this past weekend. You gasp as Peter looks up at you and turns his phone around showing you the cover art to none other than Taylor Swift’s Lover album. You reach down and pause the song. Silence falls between the two of you as you try and process what had just happened.
“Y-You.. You’re m-my soulmate?” You know you must look insane, but there is so much happening in your mind that it’s a miracle you can even form the words.
Peter watches you carefully as he stands up. “Y-yeah, I mean, I had a suspicion from the weekend and this morning, but yeah. I h-hoped it was you.” He admits shyly.
Your heart could burst. Here was Peter Parker, the boy you had been hoping was your soulmate, admitting that he had hoped the same thing. Here was Peter Parker, your soulmate. Before you can even process the words, they are coming out of your mouth in quick succession, “Can I kiss you?”
He seems a bit startled but recovers and gives a small nod. You reach up to wrap your arms around his neck and delicately press your lips to his. He is hesitant at first, but soon leans into the kiss and places his arms around your waist, bringing you closer to him. You pull away from lack of air, but press your foreheads together. Peter laughs.
You look up at him and smile. “What?”
“You really like Taylor Swift, don’t you? I’m tired of hearing that song bouncing around in my head. I don’t know how someone could listen to the same song for so long.”
“Shut up. You didn’t even listen to any music at all.”
“I didn’t want to disturb you. Plus, you listen to enough music for the both of us.”
He leans down again to place another kiss on your lips. His arms are still wrapped tightly around you. You were perfectly happy to stay in his embrace forever. Thanking the heaven’s for whoever was responsible for making him the perfect match for you, you kiss him back.
I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings
I hate accidents except when we went from friends to this

peter knows exactly what he needs right now after a long day.
there’s only one thing in the world that could make up for having a shitty day and that’s you.
but unfortunately for peter, when he patters into your shared apartment, you’re nowhere to be found.
“babe?” he calls out.
he strips himself of his shoes and walks down the short hall to your bedroom, only to find the closet open and your work clothes missing. peter skrinks at your absence and pouts, “great.”
he ponders about taking a nap, but it’s a quarter to nine and he’d rather be awake when you arrive home.
when his stomach growls, he realizes he’s gone almost an entire day without a proper meal, save for the granola bar you shoved in his hand before he kissed you goodbye.
as he enters the kitchen, he finds a note left on the counter, scribbled in your handwriting,
“emergency shift at the hospital, back by 9 tonite. food in the fridge, love you!”
peter frowns at your note, sticks it onto the fridge, and pulls out the meal you prepared for him.
he heats up the food and chews the stale chicken slowly. he really misses you. even with your bland food and lack of seasoning, he still enjoys anything from you. you try your best for him.
when he’s finished cleaning his dishes, peter debates on showering. he wants to wait for you, to take a nice hot shower with you, and clean each other’s stress away. but he’s really stinky from work, and he’d rather just go to bed with you. so he undresses and takes a long shower alone.
—
peter’s prayers are answered when he reenters the shared bedroom dressed in pajamas.
“hi baby,” you chirp. you take off your glasses and set the book you were reading aside.
peter’s heart swells at the sight. you’re laying on your side of the bed, hair in a bun, away from your face. you’re dressed in your boyfriend’s plaid boxers and a geeky t-shirt you stole from his dresser.
the tv is playing some rerun of your favorite tv show as he crawls himself across the bed and plops himself in between your open legs.
peter nests his heavy head upon your pelvis and lets out a deep sigh. your palms run down his clad back, kneading the tense muscles.
“did you eat yet?” he tries to nod his head, “yea, chicken was good, super tasty, thanks, y/n/n” he replies.
he may or not be telling you the whole truth. you’re cooking wasn’t amazing, but he would never tell you that.
peter flips himself over, staring at you adoringly upside down. your soft hands trace his buff arms, comfort spreading throughout his skin from your touch, “what happened today, petey?”
he exhales, furrowing his brows, and squeezes his eyes shut. he juts his bottom lip out while you weave your fingers and pull through his damps locks.
“everything went wrong today. everything,” he takes a deep breath, “i was late for biochem, had a pop quiz for psych. not that it was hard but still. i forgot i had tutoring today too, so i'm out fifteen bucks. and we were understaffed for work, so that was a bust. so many mean customers in queens,” he takes a look at you, “we should move somewhere else.”
you snicker at his comment and slide your fingers over his funky left eyebrow, smoothing out the knit and massaging his temples, “yea, like where?”
you love all versions of peter, but you think this is your favorite. relaxed at your touch, devoting himself wholeheartedly to you. he’s embraced and fully engulfed by you, like putty in your hands.
“like,” your boyfriend seems distracted, voice deep, staring at you with nothing but affection, “sunnyside? maybe?” peter licks his lips and clears his throat, “just somewhere safer, nicer. for you.”
you’re beaming down at his face; your warm hands cup his cheeks while you land a long and overdue tender kiss upside down. you feel peter smile into the kiss, exhaling through his nose in contentment.
you keep your hands on his face and gently caress the soft skin as you pull away.
“that sounds nice,” your heart squeezes at the thought as he continues, “we could settle down there, have a family, you know? white picket fence and all. ‘m picturing you in your hot scrubs, bringin’ home the bacon. and i’ll be at home, taking care of the kids.”
you’re giggling at the scene as you chime in, “and we could have family dinners every saturday night, or- ooh! i could take yoga classes sunday mornings and-”
peter snickers at you, “what you need are some cooking classes.”
gasping, you flick his forehead, “you said you loved my cooking!”
