Seeing the Tree Law posts regarding Universal Studios & the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike: someone ask Andrew Garfield to smash a laptop in front of executives. The amount of takes that occurred to get this shot ought to be worth the destruction of one more Apple device.

With respect to The Social Network gif regarding Universal Studios, Tree Law, and the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike I posted, look once more at the scene where Mr. Garfield is smashing the laptop. Besides Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake, how many background actors do you see? The witnesses to this pivotal scene are there for a reason that enhances every single thing about the emotions on display.
I want human beings in those scenes, not AI. Do the math, pay the actors, and don't replace them with machines. Destroy the laptop not the people.
The people you don't see in films, the writers, the crew, and all the others who labor or work in industries nationwide to support our well-being and our daily lives? Pay them a living wage. They count.

and the Ents being unable to find Entwives because they were lost. One is a fictional story with so many truths about humanity. But the reality is tragic as well. Shame on the studio for cruelty against people and trees.

With the WGA announcement of the possible end to the strike, I do want people to remember that the union's general membership still has to vote for the deal. The workers still have to agree to it.
This isn't the moment to stop paying attention, especially while SAG-AFTRA is still on strike, and let's not forget that The Animation Guild's contract negotiation is right around the corner.
Don't get complacent now.

DON'T boycott the streamers and/or stop going to the movie theaters unless the unions ask for it.

CGI animators should unionize next. normally, their jobs would be too precarious to strike, since studios would replace them without a second thought, but if it's part of this larger general film strike, they might finally have meaningful power to better their working conditions

If I see ANYONE complain about their fav shows next season being delayed due to WGA and SAG strikes it's kill ON SIGHT. Is this show really good enough it's worth letting writers starve and lose their homes for the next season to come out? Being upset over this is valid. That's the point, to make us upset. But don't take the anger out on the people striking, take it out on the studios leaving them no other choice

Hey guys, this isn't my usual kind of post but I've had my attention brought through my union to the proposed Kroger-Albertsons merger.
This would give Kroger a monopoly over the Kroger, Fred Meyer, QFC, Albertsons, and Safeway brands/stores across the US.
I don't think I need to explain why monopolies are evil, but this deal would also come with many store closures, union-worker layoffs, the potential creation of food deserts, and forced reliance only on Kroger-owned groceries.
