I love how Hibiki handles her symphogear so roughly. Straight up breaking off the heels to get a better stance. Punching with her armed gear energy instead of summoning it. And now in ep9 pulling back the thing on her gauntlet to punch even harder. She's forcing it to fit her fighting style. And I think that's very fitting for a character who's meant to be unwavering with her ideals.

Randomly thinking about how Maria/Serena and HibiMiku are such obvious options for duet songs that I’m surprised XDU is yet to do it

I feel that the Phantom sisters event was like the perfect opportunity for a Cadenzavna sisters’ duet but it didn’t happened and there has been plenty of opportunities for a HibiMiku duet

Hopefully when/if they releases a fourth XDU CD, those two pairs get a song 

Thinking about the silhouettes for the upcoming VS event and trying to figure out who is getting a swimsuit this year.

By process of elimination, the characters that are yet to get a swimsuit are the parallel world versions of TsubaChris, KiriShira and Hibiki but none of the silhouettes looks like them. I can kinda see Tsubasa on the left but the right doesn’t look like Chris, unless she managed to tie her hair in a way that makes it look short

At first glance, the silhouettes looks like regular Miku and, either, Chris or Hibiki. Interesting choice if the devs decided to give new swimsuits to characters that already had one

Ultraman, Super Sentai and, now, Kamen Rider.

Congratulation Symphogear for finally completing the tokusatsu trinity

Going back through symphogear (and it's memes) and I remembered the show was gay, but never did I understand the depths of it until after I came out.

I'm not normal about this series.

So, me and my best friend just finished our watch of Symphogear (her first time, my second time through the whole series) and I have come to the conclusion that I just can't be normal about it. I got into the series right before XV came out and that was still a few years before I transitioned, and after a rewatch and having transitioned, I know why this show resonated with me back then. It, like me, is HELLA gay.

I knew it was gay to start, I'll be honest with that, but after being a part of the queer community, I see just how gay this show actually is. Between Miku's near constant pining for Hibiki, Tsubasa having such autistic rizz that she pulls in two (arguably three) women over the course of the show, EVERYTHING regarding Kirika and Shirabe, and a hell of a lot more than I can put into succinct words. I'm amazed that throughout five seasons they managed to keep the show queer.

I guess in a way it was one of the final things that really cracked my egg, and for that I'm really thankful. Cag probably did the most given that she outright has a scene in the specials that is what a lot of trans women say and truly see in themselves (minus a couple hundred years) I think it was the first real time I was starting to identify with characters in a series, and after this rewatch, characters I passed over are the ones I truly relate to the most.

I usually just lurk and look at random images, but I felt I needed to get this out in some form. Yell into the void that this show, and soon to be movie, is something that is important to me. Who knows, maybe someone will come across this and give the show a try and it helps them in a similar way that it helped me. And if you do decide to watch it, all I can say is, "Enjoy!"

So ya, brain rot is pretty far in there. Though I wanted a tattoo of an Aufwachen Waveform for a while, though I only really now decided on what to get. Top is Tsubasa's activation chant and the bottom is a translation of a lyric from Beyond the BLADE

Probably the fastest I've gone on to do a rewatch and I immediately caught this little detail. When Hibiki goes to the Zwei Wing concert and buys glowsticks, she gets the colors of her future gear, Tsubasa's gear, and Chris' gear.

I adore just how much attention the creators put into this series.

I was going to say maybe Ogawa isn't, but then I remembered that he really takes his job as Tsubasa's manager seriously and pushes her into variety shows to further increase her popularity. Dude's a good ninja, but he's a scary manager.

Happy Birthday 2023, Shirabe Tsukuyomi! You're turning, uh, -6?

...They grow up so fast.

You might notice that she and her Shul Shagana look a little different here. What's up with that? Well, I'm working on a canon continuation story!; this is Shirabe in 2048, aged 19.

Her gear variant is based primarily on the alchemical Rebuilds, but incorporating individual things I liked from the GX/AXZ model-- representing a sort of slow, gradual Mental Imagery shift towards the Adaptors' ideal, "greatest hits" versions of their gears. Very happy with how it turned out.

(...And yes, Shirabe does eventually get taller than Chris in this timeline, hehehehehe)
