Because Charles does look like the type who would be very, very protective of his woman
So, you own a coffee shop
And Charles visits it often, just to see you
Maybe he liked your hair, or your eyes, or your voice
You were kind, and you kept the conversation going
And Charles would find himself coming back unnecessarily for more coffee multiple times a day
He’d sit there at the counter, and shamelessly flirt with you
He’d compliment you all the time
Even asked you go out with him for a ride someday
In the beginning you’d say no
He’d fake pout and tell you that you were breaking his heart
He’d be persistent though
Eventually, you gave in and agreed to go on a long drive/date with him
You and Charles were nothing official, yet.
But he would be the type to sneak into your room at night, just to kiss you good night
Or steal a kiss or two when he’d come by your coffee shop
You had always seen his sweet, gentle side
However, you soon realized that he was also very, very protective of you
One time, Charles was sat at one of the booths; waiting on his order
And while you made him his coffee, two people walked in
Two of your regular clients
You weren’t one to openly talk to random men but since they came to your shop everyday, you felt like you had to be nice and stop ignoring them
You smiled at them and made a small talk. One of the guys complimented how good you looked in your little uniform and you giggled
And that made Charles send his best death glare to the young man talking to you
He wanted nothing more than to just walk up to him, grab him by the collar and tell him you belonged to him
But he had to be on his best behavior
Charles watched and waited
He saw how you casually talked to the guys
He noticed how each time you turned around, they both checked you out and snickered behind your back
And he hated it
He didn’t like people looking at what’s his
And when you grabbed his coffee cup and walked over to where he was sat
He smirked at you then looked behind you to make sure that the guys were watching
Charles’ hand shamelessly slipped past your red apron and circled around your body and landed right on your ass
He grabbed your butt cheek and pulled you into him
You widened your eyes at his scandalous behavior but he just smirked and kept going
“You do look good in your uniform, doll. I bet you look even better without it.” he spoke, and you gasped at his choice of words
The guys were dead silent upon hearing his voice.
Charles’ grip on your ass was firm
“What do you say, maybe i could take you out on a real date tonight? And then take you home, yeah?” he spoke and then tilted his head to the side to look at the two guys at the counter
The ones who dared to even flirt with his girl
“Maybe then people will know that you belong to me, and they’ll stop looking at what doesn’t belong to them” he spat, with a sly smirk at the end
Within the next few seconds, the two guys rushed out of your shop; leaving only you and Charles in.
And he finally let go of your butt
“Charles, that was mean” you chided him.
He looked up at you in disbelief and stepped out of the booth, pulling you closer to him again
“Mean? They were checking you out. And I don’t like people looking at what’s mine,” he’d tell you, leaning in to kiss you at the side of your mouth.
Charles kept his promise.
He did take you out, and he did take you home
And from then on, you were his girl.
And he made sure that everybody knew
