Sooo I spent 3hours writing this
I really like it, a lil spicy but I really ship Getaway and Tarn for some reason-
Hot Rod being mind controlled and used as a weapon, Soundwave freeing him.

He broke down the door and found Tarn already waiting for him.
"Took you long enough."
"Where's Hot Rod!?"
"Around."
His engine growled and he grabbed Tarn about to punch him in the face.
"I wouldn't do that."
He glared feeling enraged at the stupid Decepticon.
"Hot Rod! Come here!"
"Coming."
He looked over to see Hot Rod coming down the stairs looking as beautiful as ever. He found himself calming slightly now that he knew he wasn't harmed.
He reached for him wanting to get him out of here and away from Tarn, when he ignored him. Going to Tarns side instead.
He looked between the two confused because something obviously wasn't right. Tarn smirked as he wrapped an arm around Hot Rod who was doting on him.
"Hot Rod?"
Tarn grabbed his face.
"Hmm."
"I need you to do something for me."
"What is it?"
"I need you to kill Soundwave because he wants to take you away from me."
"But I want to stay with you."
"I know but he wants to take you away. Which is why you need to kill him."
Tarn gave him a knife and he took a step back as Hot Rod turned to him. No recognition in his optics as he tried to stab him.
"Hot Rod this isn't you."
"You don't know me."
"Yes I do. You're my Conjunx."
"Tarn is my Conjunx."
He glared at the other Decepticon.
"What did you do to him?"
"Nothing. I simply made him mine as he should have always been."
Hot Rod kept attacking him and he didn't want to hurt him. All he could do was dodge his attacks as he tried to get him to remember him.
"This isn't you."
"Of course it is. I'm Tarns Conjunx."
He shook his head.
"No. We bonded together don't you remember? When I held you in my arms. The peace treaty had just been signed and we could finally be together again. We didn't want to waste any time."
Hot Rod froze for a second and then he shook his head.
"You're lying."
"Remember the Quintesson invasion. At first we didn't get along but as we got to know each other we fell in love. At first I thought you were pathetic. Weak. Pretending to be like Optimus but you are so much more than that. I learned that you are a strong, capable leader. You are nothing like me. You are kind and determined to help everyone regardless of faction. You saved me multiple times even when I was being a jerk."
He saw a tear fall as Hot Rod slashed him repeatedly. He barely noticed as he tried reaching his Conjunx.
"Please Hot Rod come back to me."
Seeing his chance he grabbed the knife out of his hands and threw it to the side. He then wrapped his arms around Hot Rod who struggled against him trying to continue attacking him.
He rubbed his back just the way he liked and felt Hot Rod stiffen. More tears fell as the real Hot Rod tried to resist whatever Tarn had done.
Using his speakers he played the song he'd made for Hot Rod. The same song that played during their bonding.
He felt both their chest plates open. Hot Rod pulled back slightly tears falling.
"Please."
He pulled him closer and felt them become one. Somewhere in the distance he could hear Tarn shout.
"No!"
As Hot Rod was freed from whatever he'd done. The two held each other. Going back and forth as they're shared their life together.
When they pulled away Tarn was gone but at the moment he didn't care. Hot Rod lay exhausted in his arms and he kissed his forehead glad he was back.
He scooped him up and took him back to their room, where they snuggled up together. Reassuring each other that they were safe.

Tarn: He would only date you if you were a con. No exceptions.
Not a fan of pda, but if some other bot tries to flirt with you, he'll "take care" of them. He'll then proceed to keep his servos on you for the rest of the night to ensure that it doesn't happen again. A servo on your back, an arm around your waist, a hug from behind, you name it!
Would only use your real name around others, but in private he'd probably call you some scrap like "My pet" or "dolly". (Don't ask why. Also, major ick imo)
He won't treat you very differently from the rest of his crew, but he might be a little more lenient when it comes to you completing any assignments. He expects you to work as hard as anyone else would "for the cause" but you're definitely his favorite
Deathsaurus: He'd prefer to date a decepticon, but he's also not entirely opposed to someone from another faction. You'd have to be pretty special though.
Big pda mech! He firmly believes in expressing his love in whatever way possible, usually meaning he'll be found holding your servo or waist. As we all know, he has a strict "no secrets" policy, meaning he'll introduce you to his troops as soon as he can. lowkey just wants an excuse to show you off
He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he loves pet names! Darling, sweetspark, dear, my love, my spark- he's got a bunch of 'em for you. If you call him any of these back, he'll be grinning to no end.
Obviously, if you want to be with him, you'll have to respect his crew and his troops. He won't tolerate you or anyone else treating them like scrap. If you're kind and supportive of his troops, and get along with them well, he'll fall for you so damn hard and fast. He's a sucker for a responsible, productive, and capable bot that'll pull their weight.
Megatron: He's fine with dating any faction, though there might be some guilt lingering in the back of his mind if you're a con.
Not big on pda, or physical affection in general. His love language is probably acts of service, like helping you out with some of your tasks. He's not big on pet names, but he might call you "dear" sometimes. He doesn't mind any pet names or nicknames you give him though.
He'll give you datapads with his poetry sometimes, and he might even recite it out loud for you as you get closer. He'd be helm over heels for you if you're into poetry and write some for him as well- it'll hang on the wall in his room and he'll have it memorized. Even if you're not into poetry, he still enjoys spending quality time with you. It's nice for him to not feel judged or scrutinized around someone for once.

I have a theory that Tarn's face is actually Shockwave's face. In my opinion, they are quite similar in appearance.
It turns out ironically that Tarn brings justice in the person of what was once the kindest and most honest representative of the Senate.
