The Importance Of Being Earnest - Tumblr Posts
Does anyone know where I could find the 2015 version of “The Importance of Being Earnest” with David Suchet? It used to be on youtube, but I can’t find it anymore. Since I think it was professionally filmed, if it’s available for purchase, I’d love to know that too!

Y'all, Crowley literally calls Aziraphale "Lady Bracknell" in the pub scene. We were warned, but we didn't listen! Lol! My boy best prepare to be humbled next season.

The Importance of Being Earnest 2002 | dir. Oliver Parker

Oscar Wilde was an Irish poet and writer. Was born on October 16, 1854.
"Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known."

it's Oscar Wilde's birthday and I just recently learned some NOT OK info about him, so here's the skinny:
Throughout his adulthood, Oscar Wilde frequently groomed minors, participated in sex tourism, and died at 46 whilst in an "affair" with a 15 yo. He hired sexually trafficked minors and once reportedly "loaned" a kid to a friend for sexual purposes.
Wilde was not all wine and satire and ready wit. He was an unrepentant paedophile. While it may seem valuable to recognize his achievements, who are we to decide that Oscar wilde was a more valuable person than the boys he serially abused?

Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest
WAIT YAY also Michael Sheen did an audiobook of The Picture of Dorian Gray!
I need to tell everyone about the brilliance of the radio adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. Let me just start by saying it has Michael Sheen in it as Jack/Ernest Worthing, so Good Omens fans, I'd say that's one reason to listen to it 👀.
But honestly, it is such a good adaptation because the actors nail the comedy and the character dynamics. It is such a lively adaptation and I can practically see Algie's devious grin, or Lady Bracknell's presumably haughty expressions, or Ernest contemplating murder any time Algie is nearby.
I turn it on any time I need a laugh and it works!
had the biggest "Harold, they're lesbians" moment ever today at a production of The Importance of Being Earnest when Cecily and Gwendolen had their faces THIS close to each other and Merriman was just staring at them like What is Going On
( @theclimbingnerd you know what I mean?!)
