"There is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft. When you kill a man, you steal a life. You steal his wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a father. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness."
-The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini.
This fucking quote HITS RIGHT INTO THE BLOODY HEART.
"Learn this now and learn it well, my daughter: Like a compass needle that points north, a man's accusing finger always finds a woman. Always."
"There's a way to be good again."
- The kite runner.
I wondered if that was how forgiveness budded; not with the fanfare of epiphany, but with pain gathering its things, packing up, and slipping away unannounced in the middle of the night.
The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini (b. 4 March 1965)

She said,"I'm so afraid." And I said, "why?," and she said, "Because I'm so profoundly happy, Dr. Rasul. Happiness like this is frightening."
I asked her why and she said, "They only let you be this happy if they're preparing to take something from you."
Khaled Hosseini, The Kite Runner
maybe my brain is far beyond saving and entirely rotted through but wouldn't the kite runner make an amazing anime... π
I only cried once while reading the kite runner, it was when amir was in the hospital, unsure of weather sorhab would live, when he got a sheet laid it down and prayed. promised to become a practicing Muslim.
He knew I'd seen everything in that alley, that I'd stood there and done nothing. He knew that I'd betrayed him and yet he was rescuing me once again, maybe for the last time.
what book made you cry the most?
Almost all of them had atleast one point where I cried π«’ but, if you really want to know, Khaled Hosseini's work had had me bawling my eyes out so much so that my mum scolded me to not get my hands over such books again π₯²π His stories are heartwrenching. SubhanAllah.
