I haven't seen anybody else talk about this but yaad is the hindi word for "memory", and I think that's something
Yaad and the residents of the golden kingdom are almost in an "immortal like a memory" state, Delgal remains a but fleeting memory with Thistle, and the whole thing where Yaad borrows Delgal's body
His attire is also similar to east Indian and Nepalese clothing, maybe that was the inspiration

I haven’t finished reading Dunmeshi yet, but Thistle radiates the vibes of gifted kid>>burnout adult, who tries to fix something but everything get progressively worse despite (because of) his efforts & he’s extremely tired of it & unable to stop at this point
Also the way he’s gone SO far from morality is… quite fitting to his character arc, at least from what I know. Like, his decisions aren’t inherently moral or correct, but that’s part of the reason he’s exiting to observe. Sometimes I just love it when people in media go beyond the borders of extreme for their loved ones, you know?
Great character overall, I love every brief appearance he’s made so far

Top part is coming along nicely...
Crying... how do I... what?
Fine. Let's use our brain for this. So we're gonna use a feather shape on a stick within a group as guide to keep the angle mostly uniform, we'll get rid of them later.
Once I started blocking out the shapes, I began adding effects in, just to test them first
The wings were a real struggle... I did them on a regular layer and used a mask to chip away the thin detail of the lines
Making sure I have both versions (manga and anime). A deep reddish version for the manga one and a golden one to match the one that appears in the anime
The golden "wheel" in the center was actually easier than the rest even though I did have to think a bit on how exactly I would go about it. In the end I used the polygon shape to make the spiked circle then made copies to make the inner rings. As for the eye I made 1/4 of it then mirrored it until I had the full eye
Had to tweak the colors quite a bit, but I used Color Overlay for all my shapes, making it easy to change the color at any point
After about 6 hours, and lots of tweaking and blasting music in the background to stay sane it was finally complete.

I think he would be exceedingly unhappy to get hit by the chimera beam so I have drawn him as such. I really like the idea of a monster au where the main cast become cursed by the mad mage and Falin gets her buddies back in chimera format, it's fun.
Here's Undine!Marcille from the last post. Hopefully I'll get to add all the main cast eventually.
Okay genuine question, how tall is Thistle??? It says on the fandom wiki he's like 4'3 (idk how reliable wikis can be im not the best at researching on my own) but when he's stood next to yaad here
He reaches his height, and yaads said to be like 4'11 i believe??? So im super duper confused someone help a fella out here
