TMNT RANT

I've always liked and watched TMNT, but I only recently got really into it and started getting into the fandom. I went on tumblr and scrolled through the TMNT tag and half of it is people simping for the turtles and other characters, the other half is them saying that people shouldn't simp. At first it didn't bother my because people have their own opinion, but then I kept seeing the same argument every time they talk about it. Every time I see them argue that people shouldn't simp they always say "Why are you simping for them? They're literally kids, they're teenagers. It's in the name, they would probably be freshmen is high school." I understand where they’re coming from when saying that adults shouldn't be crushing on children, but why is that the argument and not the fact that they are turtles? Maybe argue that they are giant mutant turtles, they are not human. If they were like Splinter who is an adult would it be fine? Even then, Splinter was at least human at some point in most versions of him while the turtles were always turtles. The only reason why that's not the argument is because they don't look like or act like actual animals, they are 6-7 feet tall with huge muscles, the simps aren't attracted to the fact that they are turtles, so no one is concerned that simps are gonna go out and fuck a real turtle, so why is that concern still there when we talk about them being teenagers. They do not look or act like kids, they don't even sound like kid! Every single version of the turtles were voiced by people that were at least in their 30's when their respective version came out. Now I know that them not looking or acting like teens don't mean they aren't, but that also goes for them being animals.

All of that is under the assumption that the person simping is an adult and not a kid just like the turtles, and to be honest it is most likely that they are, this is a Nickelodeon owned franchise and the main audience are kids and adults with nostalgia, so it's more likely people who are the same age or younger than the turtle boys, or adults that had a crush on them when they were kids, and that doesn't go away. It's normal to still have crush on a friend you had when you were younger or still think about your first love as a adult, but it's not normal when that person is a turtle boy? I still have a crush on my 4th grade crush, and yes I still think of him as a kid, but that’s because that's how I remember him last! I don't think about him and go "Ah yes, Caleb! If only I was an adult back then when I first met you when you were a child!" I think about the time he said I looked pretty with glasses and had a nice singing voice when we were both kids. He was the same age as me back and is still to this day, but since I’ve only known him as he was back then I only like that version of him and only see him as the way he was.

Not to mention that the turtle boys aren't real! Crushing on them or even writing fanfiction of them literally isn't hurting anyone because they aren't real. Sexualizing or romanticizing actual children no matter how old they look or act is wrong because they are still children and they don’t fully understand the concept of it all and what those thing entail, that leads to hurting them and leaving long lasting trauma. I’m not saying that isn’t true, what I’m saying is that since these are fictional characters and can be whatever age you want them to be, it hurts no one to romanticize or sexualize them. There are other fandoms that write fanfiction of actual people that are both human and adult but it actually hurts them. Like the One Direction or Fall Out Boy fandom, the fanfiction is based on real people and one day their kids, partner, or employer will see that shit which is embarrassing as fuck! People write fan fiction of Stranger Things or IT and while the actors are older now they still came out when they are kids. Why not get mad at the people writing fan fictions shipping the characters in that? Or even Stephen King himself for writing a sex scene of the characters as kids having an orgy in the sewers! Instead of called a weirdo or a pedophile , that man got paid thousands of dollars for both the book and then the movies.

So in conclusion, I need everyone to shut the fuck up and let me go back to reading the X Reader with Megan Fox's April O'Neil being jealous that Mikey isn't simping over her anymore, without author being bothered by haters and saying that they are gonna stop writing, that would be great!

Imagine being so pressed about what other people like, it has nothing to do with you so why do you care. The only reason I can think of if someone being mad is if they were mad that it wasn’t them. Why are upset unless you wish it were you? If you actually cared about people liking child characters in media then go worry about the people who like Eri or Anya from My Hero Acedemia and Spy X Family, those are children that are meant to act and look like children.

Philophobia

WARNING: I'd like to clarify that philophobia is real and different from being asexual or aromantic. To put in very simple terms, philophobia is the fear of falling in love that is often but not always caused by a trauma revolving "love", asexuality is when you feel no sexual attraction to anyone, and aromantic is when you feel no romantic attraction. Not everyone with philophobia is asexual or aromantic and not everyone who is asexual and/or aromantic has philophobia. Not to say that it impossible to have all of the above, it's correlation not causation.

Leo found out because he is invested in your love life. You tell him all the tea all the time about the drama of the people in your life and so knowing your own drama is no difference. You didn't tell him directly that you have philophobia at first, but he put two and two together because of everything you've told him.

Anytime there is a love interest in your life you do nothing about it. When someone likes you, you lie about noticing it, even when all the stuff they do is one giant scream for your attention. When it’s you who likes someone, you always have some excuse to not confess. You're just content with liking them from afar and taking your feelings to the grave. The one time where you have a crush on someone who clearly likes you back is when Leo found out why your like this.

You tell him your trauma with love, the reason you feel like love is just not meant to be for you. You cry of course, it's not easy retelling something you'd rather never happened at all, but he sits there quietly as you do, not a single joke, quip, heckle, or sound. You tell him how and why, you tell him your fear of what happen and of it happening again. How you just aren't ready to feel the bad part of loving someone that comes with the good, even if the good could possible weigh out the bad, its just not something you're willing to risk.

When you finish, he's left speechless, he knows he has to be delicate in his response because he doesn't know how else to deal seriousness in the kind of manner you need and after seeing you break down in front of him he knows that he has to help in some way. He opts for the safest approach of just rubbing your back, he wants to comfort you but is scared that his touch might scare you when you're vulnerable. If you lean in closer then he'll just hold you and rest his head on yours, he lets you cry on him if you want. He doesn’t try to do anything selfish like try to look at you or anything, he just holds you without saying a word and tries his best to stay completely still. If your don't like the touch, then he'll stop and say thank you for trusting him.

Once you compose yourself again, that's where he's back to his good goofy self. He's there trying to make you laugh and takes you to do something stupid to make you feel better. He wants to let you know that whether you want a relationship with someone or not, you always have him to have the kind of relationship you don't have to be scared of and can depend on, and promises that if a similar situation were to ever happen again that he’ll come be your hero.

Raphael has always had a hard time when it comes to saying "I love you" to the people he loves, that doesn't change when he starts dating you, it's just the way he is. It's not that he doesn't love you, he just has his own way of saying it, and the way he says it is just as, if not even more lovely.

You hear it every times you make him laugh. After every joke you make and within all the banter you two create, is the laughter that sounds like love letters to you, butterfly kisses that fly in the air and flutter over to your ears. Every times he says, "you're so stupid" is his love confession.

You see it in the way he does thing for you, reaching for things on the top shelf, opening jars or bottles, learning new things to do with you. Before you met him, he had no idea that he could be so good at doing so many thing. Before meeting you he never knew he could have someone to do his hobbies with like knitting. Now he does, he loves being with you.

You feel it in the way he hold you. During late nights as he wraps his arms around your waist and buries his face in the crook of your neck looking for comfort from the day. When he cups your face and kisses you, his smile present but make is that much sweeter. This is his favorite "I love you"

Raph has a hard time saying it, be he tells you he loves you all the time. Whether you know it or not, it there in every moment you share together.

I was on my way to the sewers to see the turtle brothers like I did every Friday because it was a nice break from school and home life. Plus it’s always nice to have a place to just goof around with or just watch a movie or something with. “Hey [Name]!” Leo yelled as he saw me walk into the lair “Leo!, Hey what’s up?”

Leo’s pov

I saw [name] walked into the lair “Hey [Name]!” “Leo!, Hey what’s up” I walked up to [Name] and gave them a hug. “How was has your day been Leo?” I dramatically sighed “[Name] you wouldn’t ever believe how boring it waaas! Without you here.” I said with a slight wink flirting with [Name] like I had been since I developed a crush on them about 6 months ago. I was just to scared to tell them yet, why would a human want to date a turtle when they could date a human? “Leoooo” [Name pulled me out of my thoughts “Sorry what’s up [Name]!” I said in confidence, “Do you wanna go hang out in your room?” [Name’s] request took me a bit off guard “S-sure! Why not [Name]!” When we got to my room we sat on my bed [Name] and I listened to music for a little while but after one song [Name] looked at me and asked blatantly “Do you wanna make out Leo?” I looked at them and was screaming on the inside but I quickly responded with “Sure!” [Name] smiled and kissed me, I kissed back and it quickly became heated and became a make out session. I moved my hands into [Name’s] hair and their hands cupped my face, after a few minutes we both needed to breath I looked into [Name’s] eyes “[Name] I have liked you for a long time and I would really like to be your boyfriend…If you’d let me that is.” [Name] look at me and smiled “Leo I would love to be your partner!” Then they kissed me again I smiled happily into the kiss and for the rest of the night we cuddled and watched Jupiter Jim movies. “I love you [Name]” [Name] smiled, kissed my cheek and said “I love you to Leo.”

Leo was exhausted, his muscles felt twisted and strained, laced with an aching, burning feeling with every movement he made, causing Leo to let a small sigh of frustration slip from his cold lips.

Leo had been training more harshly than he usually would, Leo had always been more light-hearted and carefree when it came to training or fighting in general. But something was different. 

He had been feeling so constrained lately, like his head was wrapped up in something entirely different than whatever task he had been dealt with. Of course this had its issues already. 

But Leo couldn’t help but feel that he was distracted. 

Sure things had gone back to normal after the battle with the Krang but that experience had haunted Leo, everything he and his brothers had to endure, he just couldn’t seem to get it out of his head. 

Especially his battle with the Krang. 

It was an experience he couldn’t simply shake. The thought that he was going to lose everything. To be trapped in that god forsaken prison for the rest of eternity, the feeling of isolation wrapping its cold hands around his throat. 

It felt like his life was being choked out of him, twisting his body in such a harsh way. A sharp chill running up and down his spine with an overwhelming intensity. 

That feeling still shakes him to his core. Leo shook the thoughts from his mind, yet that uneasy feeling still resonated within him as he walked back into the lair completely exhausted and wanting nothing more than for you to hold him in your arms so he could drift to sleep peacefully.

Leo hardly ever had nightmares when he slept beside you, like you were his dreamcatcher, chasing his nightmares away while he rested easily knowing that you weren’t going anywhere. 

Leo stretched yawning as he allowed his body to slump over as he lazily dragged his feet across the cold floor, the icy feeling burning through the soles of his feet. He rounded the corner, opening the curtain to his room.

His droopy eyes widened at the sight of you already waiting there on his bed mindlessly scrolling through your phone before you had taken note of Leo's  presence in the room, causing a smile to grace your soft features as you got up to greet the blue turtle.

You opened your arms for him in which he happily accepted closing the gap between you two quickly. 

“What are you doing here?” Leo asked into the crook of your neck not quite ready to let go yet. 

“What? I can’t come to see my handsome boyfriend.” you joked turning your head to lay a soft kiss on the side of his head before you let go, a small blush covered his face at the unexpected compliment you had thrown his way.

He chuckled, scratching  the back of his neck awkwardly. 

“No, of course not. I just didn’t think you’d come all this way especially when it's so late.” Leo remarked, glancing at the red clock that hung from his wall. 

“Well I’m here now aren’t I? Let’s lay down.” you smiled softly, taking his hand into yours. Leo felt his heart melt at your words. You always knew exactly when he needed you. You knew him like the back of your hand. 

Leo felt his muscles loosen as the feeling of the soft mattress engulfed his body causing him to let a content sigh slip past his lips. Leo threw his arms over your torso pulling you closer to him as he entangled his legs with yours.

As he buried his face in your neck causing you to let out a small giggle as Leo smiled against your skin, your laughter was the sweetest melody.

Leo closed his eyes feeling his head go foggy as he hears you humming softly, the sound growing further away as the tides of sleep have washed him away.
