Odalia Blight - Tumblr Posts
Oop sorry for getting all personal last post ahahđ anyways whos ur favorite bad cartoon parental figure(s)

If I had a nickel for everytime I saw a Latina girl with no dad, being obsessed with magic, discovers their own magic, discovers another world that's highly dangerous, be mentored by a gay criminal that becomes a parental figure, lead a rebellion to save a women obsessed with red, have an animal companion that talks and is basically a brother, have a purple witch gf with mommy issues, get given too much trauma, and love the colour purple, and a Doppleganger. Their mentors have bird companions and aren't actually bad people and reluctant but protective parents with sister issues since they were children and trauma. I'd have two nickel's.
Which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice.
(I know Vee isn't evil and just wanted to escape Belos)

Has anyone else figured out that Odalia believing that helping Belos by giving him abomatons would reward her with prestige and be safe is pretty similar to what Belos did with Lilith and Hunter and what he's doing with Kikimora and (possibly) the Collector?
Belos makes others think that he loves them, that they're special or that they have greater privilege than others as long as they help him with his goals:
- He made Hunter believe that he is special for being his nephew and for having the rank of Golden Guard, so Hunter will always seek to please his uncle and help him in everything he can because Hunter feels that he owes it to him for giving him a future by not having anyone and not being able to do magic naturally.
- He led Lilith to believe that she was talented and intelligent, causing Lilith to desperately seek his approval because she felt ignored by her own family and always felt inferior to her sister Eda and Belos is the first person to recognizing her efforts value as a powerful and important witch.
- He makes Kikimora believe that the more loyal she's to him, the more she will be respected and receive more approval and privileges because Kikimora feels that Belos is the first person who truly respects her.
- Possibly he is making the Collector believe that being his friend he will not lie him or betray him like the rest, making the Collector, despite his doubts for having seen Belos manipulate, control and betray others for years, continue trying to convince himself that Belos will not betray him as he has done with everyone because they're friends and their friendship makes him special to Belos unlike the others.
- And now Belos indirectly makes Odalia believe that if she helps him by giving him abomatons, she and her family will be saved and and they will be rewarded with prestige (like Odalia said âbeing treated like royaltyâ) because Odalia believe that if she and her family are loyal to Belos, the most powerful person in the Boiling Islands, they will be rewarded with greatness and prestige and they will also be able to have the security of being able to live comfortably without worrying that they might disappear like the others.
All this shows how really manipulative and dangerous Belos is.
Something that has to be taken into account is that Odalia belongs to the Oracle Coven (a coven known for making predictions of the future) and it is no coincidence that Odalia is in this coven because she cares more about the future than the present to the point that she forgets that for for a good future to exist, you have to work with the present in a healthy and positive way, because a healthy present guarantees a good future, but a negative and toxic present will only bring a future full of ruin.
This can be seen in how her main concern is her future and that of her children, but in turn she leaves aside the present and forgets how it can affect the future of her children. She wants her children to be the best in everything and to associate with people of high status only so that they have a successful future assured, forgetting how this negatively affects their children (they feel obliged to meet very high expectations that generate stress in addition to interacting with people they really don't like to be with and this causes long-term anger and frustration, bringing them a bitter and negative future). This is also seen in her point of view of Day of Unity where she cares more about the life of privilege she thinks she and her children will have afterwards than what might happen to her and her children during Day of Unity, not realizing that she and her children will probably disappear just like the others.
Odalia doesn't care what happens to Alador nor does she care about the emotional damage she does to her children in the present if ir means that they have a comfortable and bright future.
It's ironic that Odalia, who belongs to the Oracle Coven, is so obsessed with the successful and bright future she wants for herself and her children that she can't see that the present is in danger and that if she doesn't help stop Belos and save the present there will be no future for her, her children or anyone else.

I don't know if anyone remembers The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy but Odalia's relationship with Collector reminded me of Eris and Billy's during the episode "Creating Chaos" where Eris tries to manipulate Billy into using the apple of discord to cause chaos but Billy drives her crazy with his nonsenses, making Eris desperate and traumatize in the process.
I wouldn't be surprised if Collector does the same thing to Odalia that Billy did to Eris. It would be a very fun scenario to watch (also, both Eris and Odalia deserved it XD).

So my friend and I were talking about the new episode, and they pointed out something that made me realize something else. Long post btw that will contain spoilers for FTF.
So well all know that Raine gets possessed and Belos uses their body to manipulate the Collector. But something that I didn't notice until my friend pointed it out and I rewatched the episode was that it was actually foreshadowed
In the first two minutes when Raine's rhapsody played in the background it looked like it was playing because of Eda and Raine and because Raine started simping for Eda's harpy form. But still, out of all the music that's been used, why would they use Raine's rhapsody when Raine didn't even know the Collector existed? And they showed the Collector and Raine in the same scene, not only that but they showed Raine very clearly seeing the Collector. All of this was foreshadowing.

The next time we see Raine, they're a puppet along with the rest of the coven heads. And when it shows the coven heads about to attack Eda, Raine is focused on specifically, and their glasses shine

At first I thought that was just because Eda wanted to visit Raine and their glasses shined for dramatic effect. But rewatching the episode, there are a few other specific moments where their glasses shine.

When they got possessed by Belos

When Belos was going to find the Collector with their body

And when Belos was telling the Collector that they're in danger.
Not to mention why would Odalia use them to help her with the other puppets when she's never even talked to them? And why wouldn't she choose Darius, an obviously much stronger witch physically and magically (love the bard coven and Raine but Darius can do a lot more with his magic than Raine can with their's) especially when they were shown to have known each other as kids? Certainly she knew that Darius was a coven head.

All of this was foreshadowing. Odalia using Raine to help her like Belos used Raine to help him. Raine's glasses shining every time the glasses are in full view from when we first see them as a puppet to when Belos uses them to manipulate the Collector, and Raine's rhapsody being used as the background music when they woke up from the draining spell and saw the Collector for the first time. All of this was foreshadowing to them being possessed.
Side note: I think the reason Belos chose Raine and not Odalia was because Odalia wouldn't fight against him if she decided to and also because since Raine is a puppet and the Collector has never interacted with them beforehand, they don't know Raine's personality and don't know what to expect from Raine. He does know what to expect from Odalia though, and although Belos didn't know that, I think he still got the basic idea because Odalia was obviously conscious and not a puppet while Raine obviously wasn't conscious and was a puppet. Plus they know that Raine is a coven head. But the idea that Belos just has higher standards than Odalia is way funnier so forget what I just said.
Anyways, this whole theory is probably a stretch, but personally it makes a lot of sense to me and this show has great and subtle ways of foreshadowing as seen as early as season 1, so I just think this was just the show being clever with its foreshadowing again.
Sorry I haven't posted I was transported out of the universe for a bit anyways here's some For The Future textposts

Hey guys?

Guys!?

GUYS!?!?

(EDIT: Not gonna respond to negative comments. If you disagree, good for you, I don't care)

Happy...uh...Valentine's season??
So, Remember Isaiah? Well he used to have a bromance --more romance than bro but ok-- With this dude, His name is William Blight the Third.
He was always very lonely man, avoided emotional intimacy at all times and never let other people get too close to him. That is until he met Isaiah.
No, it wasnât âlove at first sightâ they actually fought with nails and thoots for three years before they had a âcivil conversationâ for the first time (AKA they got drunk in the nastiest most low life cavern in the whole fucking isles)
Since then Liam would purposely being caught stealing and doing criminal stuff to get Isaiahâs attention -it always worked-, they would pretend to fight and go to a hidden place to get drunk, hang out or just dance for hours.
Liam would tell his awesome tales and Isaiah would do the same but adding many jokes to them; they would dance, spar, sometimes sing or just stay in silence while walking by the beach.
William (or Liam as he likes to be called) is a natty, cheeky criminal, Blight House Deserter and Odaliaâs great, great, great -many greats- uncle grandpa. After his death nobody talked about him, mostly bc no one remembered his existence.
(BTW i kinda based him on puss in boots)
part 8
Another thing are we just gonna ignore this

I for one find it really funny that everyone is dressed up and then there is just Alador just dressed like he just stepped out of the workshop. And he always looks like this, does man's ever shower?
Also with a with a wife like Odalia, you would think she would have made him change, or maybe its just a visual gag I am thinking way too hard about.
I watched the new episode with my older brother and we have two very different reactions to Odalia Blight
Me: Grr, emotionally abusive parent
My brother: She do be thicc tho
That is an excellent point, and I would like to add to this if you don't mind.
While, I orginally posted this as like a haha funny joke, I will say that I do believe that Alador has equal power in this relationship and does have imput in what Odalia does like you said, and it seems to me this futher implicates Alador in the child abuse. This means we can't treat mans like 'UwU poor baby, he just another victim to Odalia's tyranny' like so many are already doing, because we see that his opinion on matters are respected and if mans stays quiet, its because he chooses to not because he is forced to. Alador is no saint, and we shouldn't treat him like one.
P.S. Lets not forget about the Willow incident

"Odalia. You girl-bossed, gatekeeped, and gaslit too close to the sun. I can't male-wife, mansplain, or manipulate for you ANY LONGER!"
"Amity Blight, you are in so much tro-"

Odlia:

Edric: Hey mom this is my boyfriend Hunter
Hunter: h-hi
Odelia: No, you cannot date this half a witch I will be setting you up with the Golden Guard.
Edric: *voice dripping with sarcasm* Oh no sorry Hunter I guess we have to break up.
Hunter: oh well *wink*
