Inktober Day 30 - Rush
An assortment of wild dudes appeared!
This is what I mean when I say I'm bad at tracking progress - each intermittent step is so small as not to register as progress at all. Every journey is comprised of separate steps and all that.
Musings aside, I'm halfway through the tower, and struggling to start the background city on the right. It would serve me well to properly approximate the pieces in the top section of the tower, theyvwould just start falling into their places, but they are extremely samey, so I just get distracted by filling in every small gap. I still dread looking at the sky...
The tower is complete, save a few pieces. The upper middle part is covered by clouds. Now, uh, to this

Closing thoughts - really liked the details on the ground and the tower itself. The sky was terrifying at the start, but it turned out to be an interesting challenge in color perception. Even though, I had to overly rely on the texturing rather than the image a lot of times, which I don't really enjoy
Onto the next one
Finished the preliminary sort, the border and sorted through partial and complete sky pieces before remembering to take a single photo of this mess. This is less than a half of all 4000 pieces. We're in for a ride.
So far really unhappy with the amount of false sets that I'm getting - I had to detach and replace pieces three times just along the border, and detaching damages them and peels the colored paper off a bit. Probably won't buy from this brand anymore because of this.
On the bright side - there is a great variety in the size of the pieces that seems to scale along the sides, so right top pieces are the widest, and the left bottom pieces are the highest; this is very helpful when trying to discern where this particular piece of foliage comes from.
I heard about Autism Speaks in my early twenties, but didn't actually learn about their reputation and methods until much later, and for some time, I was completely unaware of the meaning of their logo. I was like, hell yeah puzzles! I'm autistic and I love puzzles! That makes sense. Whatever.
Can I reclaim it, the puzzle symbol? Not even for the autistic community at large, just for myself? Is this how it works? I have no gripes with the infinity symbol or the gold theme, I just don't vibe with it, it's too shiny for me.
