Update Post - 27th of May, 2023

Hi guys! This might be my last weekly update post for a while, but don't worry—I don't attempt to disappear in that time. In fact, I've come with news as far as how I should be tackling on workload from now!

I've decided setting a consistent schedule for myself would be beneficial, so here's tentatively how it is:

I'll be answering a bunch of asks over the weekend, and then queue them for throughout the week. Maybe 2-4 asks answered daily.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my special writing days. My wish is to write everyday, but that's not always feasible; setting aside a couple of days just to write would be super helpful to focus on them!

During this time, I will also be working on my full-time work in real life, which is pretty much a 24/7 thing—but I will set aside Friday and Monday as my special IRL work days to get projects done.

Nothing is set in stone, but I wanted to be transparent about this so you guys know that I am committed to writing this IF, as having a little structure might help speed things along!

I am working on asks as we speak; I took a break earlier to give people's feed a little break from this blog, too. Hopefully I can get back into the rhythm of answering (currently, I have 12 posts in queue, including this). I've been trying to balance compliments and general remarks with RO + parent scenarios/asks, so that there's some variety!

Thanks for everyone's patience 💕💕 I am grateful for everyone's support! It took me a long time to finally have a demo, so I wanted to say again: thank you for those who supported me knowing they were tentative times. 🫂

It makes them appear like royalty in chains, a savior disgraced ... the fire in their eyes, burning so fiercely within their irises, could make you lose all conviction. It is the look of someone who belives so deeply, they could build religions from that visage. A transcendent faith, an undying loyalty steadfast to their truth, that it is nothing short of divine.

Imagining new scenarios and getting flustered for no reason lets gooo

Heyo! I just realized something that I probably should have realized earlier since I was the one who asked for freckles. I was talking about Uroboros to my mum and she was wondering about why deities can have freckles if they're supposed to be perfect. After all, freckles are something you get over time. I explained to my mum that it's simply how the deity chooses to present themself. Then my mum said something about her mum calling freckles kisses from the sun.

I- My MC has freckles... and she wants to romance Salvatore... "sunkisses" aaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAA

🥹 Yes!! I also thought the same thing as your mom! I know others may view it as an imperfection as well, but as you said, it really is however a deity wishes to present themselves.

... but thinking on it again, if that's the logic, I think scars may also be viable as well!

What if... what if cheek kiss? 👉👈

👉👈 !!! I suppose it depends on the stage, but I'll assume you're in a relationship? (And if you're interested in how they'd react while crushing... it's 👉👈 feel free to send a separate ask for that!)

I accidentally wrote this with the caveat that it was a sudden cheek kiss... but I hope you enjoy, anyway! :)

SALVATORE would startle, eyes bursting open with light. They turn to you swiftly, grinning ear to ear, and would lean in to kiss you back on the cheek, assuming that is something that you want. If not, then if you're at least comfortable with this much, they'd reach out to hold your hands and squeeze them. Giggling, they'd say that it was nice—thank you, MC!

LUCIEL would blink, going deathly still. Their finger twitches, the only movement they make for a few, long moments, and then they turn to you slowly. It's now that you realize that the ends of their ears have turned red, now that they're facing you with a small and diffident smile. If they know it's something you'd like, they'd lean forward slowly and press one to your temple as well.

CIOCANA would suddenly tense, having lost all control over their senses or movements that even their eyes turn blank for a moment. They clear their throat as they recover, turning the charm on once more and looking to you. What was that about? Did they suddenly seem kissable at that moment? If so, MC has to commit to it. (Internal screaming)

ALESSI would blink, but they only need that moment to process it. Provided that they already know it's something you're comfortable with, they'd surge forward to kiss you on your cheek, maybe two or three. MC launched a covert attack on them, and they're only rising to the challenge! If MC is not one to receive, though, they'd just scoff playfully and roll their eyes. What underhanded tactics to catch them off-guard; they're lucky they can't counter it.

UROBOROS IF - Surprise Kiss Responses

I have fulfilled my promise to draw the RO responses to this question. The characters are from @uroboros-if, it's a lovely interactive fiction game that I may or may not have cried while playing.

How would the ROs + parents react to you putting a flower crown on them?

All of these depend on the circumstances, but I'll just imagine you surprise them with it! Also, grouping these together, so answering both ROs and parents :)

NERO AND RAFAELE. It doesn't matter whether you're in a young form or an adult form, you're always be their child in their eyes. Rafaele will still burst with joy and be brought to near tears at your gesture. They have the most wonderful child in the world! He will stand up and quickly start looking for any flowers he can pick so he'll make one for you, right then and there! He probably goes around parading himself, chin held high and showing it to everyone who asks (and does not ask, but so much as glances his way).

I haven't answered these asks yet, but a LOT of people mentioned giving crochet/paper flowers for Nero! He would still adore and appreciate any flower crowns you give him, regardless if they are real or not, but he will be deeply moved if you are aware and accommodate that he prefers they were not. He smiles wide and genuine for the first time in a long while, and proudly put it on his head.

SALVATORE. They'd gasp and ask if it's really for them?! When you affirm, their hands are trembling, trying to grasp onto the flower crown gently while resisting their excitement to quickly throw it on. They lower it onto their head shakily, slowly pull their hands away, and beam. How do they look? (The flowers appear to blossom more in their radiance.)

Once they have free time, they'll start learning how to make a flower crown as well. Would enlist their mother, Edvige, as the goddess of the earth and harvest. They would absolutely not be a quick hand at it, and Edvige almost gives up on them entirely, but given enough time and patience, they'll do it. They'll make a dilapidated, but pretty flower crown, and what it lacks for in steady craftsmanship is made up for in abundant meaning, clearly made with love.

LUCIEL. Their eyes widen as you present it to them. If you're not averse to touch, they bow and let you place it on their head. Otherwise, they ask if they can take it, and reverently receive it from you. Though they appear calm on the outside, a soft smile graces their lips, as well as a blush high on their ears. They quietly thank you, and wear it for as long as it lasts—even if that may be an eternity.

The flowers in that crown start to blossom in small corners of Lucidio, humbly sprouting along the side of paths and greenery just out of the way from too many eyes. They do not speak of it, much like a mortal never speaks a god's name in vain. Its sanctity is best upheld with devoted silence.

CIOCANA. If it's a real flower crown, it'll probably wilt at their touch. At that, they laugh lightly and try to assure you that they appreciate the thought—truly appreciate it. Though they do not say it aloud, it is not something that happens to them often; inwardly, they're choking with emotions, trying to grapple with the idea that someone holds them in such... high regards.

If you persist and make them an artifcicial flower crown, they will be... overcome. They make a light, joking remark, but only after having been shocked still for a good while. Even then, it has half their usual playfulness; their attention is somewhere else, turning the crown in their hands, staring at it intently as if waiting for it to collapse. It never does.

ALESSI. They grin at you, gesturing at you to hand it over. They throw it on their head and hold their chin up high, asking you if they look dashing. After another round of laughter, they muse how awfully mundane it is for a deity. They adore it, of course, but it's amusing and endlessly endearing. It's such a simple gesture, and yet it feels so profound. They fall silent, contemplating on everything that's happened that let them sit with you here—all the suffering you both must have endured to fight for this peace. Yet, they don't regret you.

They will fashion a flower crown in return, with any of the wildflowers they can gather and the ones that they grow themselves. Whatever they craft will be beautiful and vivid, because it reflects what they see in you.

are there other phrases that invoke the gods in your world’s language? i love that “maju ciocaga”/“i am lost” incorporates ciocana’s name, it’s such a fun detail!

The language is perpetually a work in progress, but here are some words that I already have that invoke their names!

Lucifila refers to time, but lucifilara refers to eternity. That's because adding -ara to nouns is generally used for referring to two of something. This is similar to how in English, we usually add an -s to nouns to indicate they are plural. In the language, there is a singular, dual, and plural. Apparently, Sanskrit and Ancient Greek have dual morphology as well.

Hila and quin refer to different types of love, and are quite literally the names of the deities, Hilaria and Quin. Considering how you say "I love you" in the language is by saying, "you are love," you are quite literally saying they are a) the deity of love, and/or b) the embodiment of love.

Ciocen means "to lose." Ciocaga is just the past participle of this verb, which is to say, it's a verb that can sometimes be used as an adjective, like "lose" can become "lost" (verb->adjective).

On the other hand, elleran means "to win," like the ruler of the gods' name, Ellera.

Salvatore is actually radiant, but they look like they're ready to punt me into the sun. I thought Luciel's was so cute and it is, until I realized all the 💀💀 Ciocana's face makes me go JSKDKSKDKK I LOVE IT, and Alessi's is just aaaa so adorable 🥺

This update is a massive improvement for new readers rather than warranting an entirely new playthrough. If you have any saves right before the Ceremony, you can find the most content there! However, the changes and additions are all over the demo.

Minor rewording for Karen encounter.

MC can now openly grimace when mortals call for MC's attention in Chapter 1. Previously, the only real negative reaction to them is turning away, which is open for any interpretation as to why MC does so.

When mortals ask for MC's help, MC can snap at them to speak quickly.

Most choices suggested you are friendly with Nero, so added a couple of options that are neutral towards him, leaning towards dismissive.

Rewrote a line that says you waved to Nero goodbye. It simply says that he departs.

Added an option to be frustrated with the conversation about mortals, when the only other non-positive options about mortals were about being completely disinterested.

Added an option where the MC says they can take care of themselves or they don't need other people worrying about them so much.

When choosing to be touch averse, selective, or not touch averse, you can now choose to be selective and not want to touch Rafaele, which initially was not an option.

If you are the Universal Eye, you tell Salvatore about the Universe being in pain and they dismiss it, you may be able to refuse conversation with them. They might keep talking to you, but you won't respond to them.

Can decide your relationship to your parents. Can also decide if you're open about your feelings towards them or not.

Variations in how your parents speak to you while preparing and during the Ceremony if they are aware of your bitterness towards them.

Can again openly express disdain for mortals or keep your feelings to yourself when answering Rafaele's question, when originally those options were absent

Can storm off from Ciocana if you do not express positive feelings about the dance, especially if you are touch-averse.

Added blue, pink, purple, and no hair options to Chapter 1, not available in the prologue.

Added red and gold eye colors to Chapter 1, not available in the prologue.

Added clothes option to Chapter 1 to wear to the Ceremony.

ROs will comment on your clothes if they particularly like it during the Ceremony (each have 3 out of 6 clothes they like.)

Added pronouns before the Ceremony. You can have multiple pronouns, remove them, and add multiple of the same kind to increase its chances of frequency.

Minor edits and bug fixes.

It's wonderful that you would want to be my test subject dearheart. But I'm afraid someone as precious as you cannot be wasted on some measly test. Unless of course the test doesn't permanently effect your physical form and change you too much. Then by all means be my guest don't worry your in great hands. If you are worthy maybe you can be by my side. I hope you can survive uroboros.

EITHER WAY, no I already shipped it. They have a lot in common and I could see it working in literally any quadrant. I especially like that Calliope disguises herself as a troll because she thinks she is ugly, and I like to think that Eridan wears the march drag to try and distance himself from who he is, and they could bond over their self pity.

In this AU, since Calliope obviously goes out superheroing as Uroboros, her troll alter ego is more of a necessity than just cosmetic appearance. Why she chose that will be delved on in later chapters, along with why she’s part of an anti-superhero unit. But you are right about Eridan’s drag outfits, and that could still be a reason for either of the two to bond regardless of which identity they’re using.
