“That what? Go on, finish your sentence.” Madoc spat the words, chest heaving. When Severin said nothing, he went on fiercely, “Aryleigh has guarded our family when neither you nor I could. She has been our friend for years.”
“And dragged you into countless dangers in her mad quest for revenge against a dragonlord, of all things.” Sevrin’s dark eyes flashed. “She will get you killed.”
Madoc’s jaw clenched. The silence stretched paper thin between them. “So be it, then,” he said hoarsely. He drew his shoulders back as he turned his back on his brother.
“She will never be yours. Hatred runs too deep in that charred heart of hers to leave room for love, Madoc.” His tone wasn’t judgmental. It was pitying. Madoc paused to look back.
“You don’t know her at all. You never will. You choose to see the blood on her hands, not the person.”
“With good reason!”

People of tumblr, I genuinely think I do my best artwork when:
Heartbroken, running a fever, not having gotten out of bed for 24 hours, ignoring DMs from my friends, deleting emails from my teachers, and trapped in a mental hell of my own creation.
Like sure, it's all done in a red ballpoint pen and looks like something straight out of a nightmare, but the proportions are good and I actually manage to have an artstyle. Plus, I can draw eyes! How cool is that!?
