Regis is my only comfort character that would be actually be comforting to meet haha. And his story is so good, my god.

I love imagining that in the “Detlaff dies” ending, he leaves because he feels like he isn’t allowed to enjoy Geralt‘s company anymore because of what he’s done (and also the whole „shunned from vampire society“ thing), but he tries to rationalize it because it‘s too hard to admit it to himself and to Geralt. Geralt would initially respect his wishes, but just before Regis would leave, the vampire would let it slip that his stunt in Tesham Mutna is making it much harder for him to not relapse, and Geralt would decide to tag along to keep an eye on him.
They compromised by going to the edge of the woods, so that Geralt wouldn't feel too judged for his dancing skills. Turns out that Regis is great at leading :)
