As boring as it sounds, my study is my place. It’s my safe place, my environment with my knick-knack, my books, my tea, my scent, ...

I naturally gravitate around realistic stuff. Fantasy ideas pop up once every 20 years or so.

Writing on paper sounds sexy but whenever I try, turns out messy and ...not as sexy (bitter sigh). So digitally it is...
> It’s the middle of the night and you suddenly wake up with an idea. What do you do?
I pray the night gods to help me store this idea some place in my brain so I can find it again easily in the morning. Because I’m so comfy and warm and lazy that I don’t want to get up, fumble in the dark and do something stupid as bump a toe against furniture.
It generally fails.

A person I hardly know anything about and want to explore.

I’m about to... Those 100k are just round the corner.

Not that often actually.

lmao no I get it! contemporary isn't for everyone, mainly because there's no action or heavy plots. it's more sublime and chill, which I get doesn't suit everybody's tastes hehe <3

😂 I was craving a kimchi soup when I sent in the ask, too.
The fact that I mess with all three makes me so confused when I'm writing. The past and present tense also messed me up SO much. I never thought I'd be stuck choosing which tense but I found myself switching throughout the first draft, and ahhh it's driving me insane haha.

Kimchi Soup: Do you write best in first, second, or third POV?
I think I'm probably equal when it comes to first and third (I don't mess around with second!), but since I feel it gives me the most latitude, I prefer third the most!
Beer Cheese Soup: A scene from your wip that made you laugh.
When sweet, sweet Merity meets Laesia for the first time when coming over for dinner and immediately starts dunking on her future brother-in-law:
“Sephris told you my family runs the bakery in town, didn't he?” Merity asked Laesia. “Whenever we have leftovers from the week, I’ll save some for him. Poor boy can’t bake for his life; he would have to spend a fortune on all his bread if not for me.”
“Boy?” Sephris repeated. “Look who’s talking! A whole two years younger than me, you are!”
“Not as if anyone would be able to tell from how you act,” Merity replied back. “Really, don't think I've forgotten the day Fendley gave you that walloping by the lake and you came to me crying to bandage you up.”
“All right, let’s not get hasty,” Sephris cut in. “And that was near fifteen years ago, I’ll remind you. No need to go rehashing family history in front of a former princess, thank you very much.”
Chicken Noodle Soup: Your favorite hurt/comfort scene
Okay I haven't written it yet, but I'm thinking it might end up being when Sephris ends up catching the yearly fever and Laesia has to nurse him back to health 🤭

Honestly I'm like one of those people who have sporadic drabbles and few long novel-length WIPs. Right now I have two, which is already a handful for me haha. But here we go:
Live Again (no WIP intro yet): Urban fantasy similar to the Good Place and Hotel Del Luna maybe. It's where a girl gets reincarnated to escape suffering eternal punishment, but she gets paired with a 9 tailed fox-gumiho-to confront these spirits or ghosts that are wrecking havoc in Korea and merging the past and present together. So yeah! Monsters! Ghosts! Enemies to lovers! All that jazz haha.
Destination Seoul (have to update the WIP intro, but it's here for now): Fake dating! Chaotic and large families! Weddings! A coming of age and bridging the gap between two cultures, Korea and America. Also fake dating shenanigans to avoid getting a marriage match, with a blunt, nosy family thinking they're doing what's best for the main character and constant food descriptions haha.

I usually listen to music while writing, yeah! But there are days when I just can't get in the zone, and I usually find that writing by hand or sitting in silence helps me enter my world a little faster than music.
I usually listen to ballads or something classical, sometimes even scores from other romance movies. Listening to someone singing distracts me most of the time, and I find myself vibing more than I do writing lmao.
But obviously Taylor Swift + Ed Sheeran has the most romantic yet also angsty songs. BTS is also on my list, along with IU and Akmu.

sentences are the bane of my existence, but here we go:
In order to escape disastrous blind dates (which often end in arguments or marriage proposals), and fulfill her mother's desire of having a date to her aunt's wedding, Hyeri employs infuriating and charming Kim Taeyoung as her fake boyfriend... by kissing him.

21. have you ever been burned out from writing?

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Burnout happens. It's not a myth.
I've actually learned that there are different writers other than the plotter/plantsers that we generally know. There's this thing called "binge writing" where basically instead of writing every day consistently, some writers have to get in the zone and almost refuse to leave it until their wip is done. I actually think that I might be a binge writer, because once I get in the zone, it stays for like 2 weeks and my wip is the only thing I can focus on.
Though burnouts do happen! Especially on long writing days where you push yourself or when you don't refuel your creative cycle.

13. what’s a wip that you’re determined to actually post within this month/the next few months?
Destination Seoul. Like I need to finish it and then start the rewrite/reoutlining process. Once I feel satisfied enough, I'm also hoping to get alpha readers for it.
Other than that, Live Again needs to be reoutlined drastically to fit the fantasy genre haha. So yeah, the next months are definitely busy!

26. is there a wip you’d like to see recreated in a new medium (ie. movie, audio drama podcast, web series, animation, musical)?
Yet again: Destination Seoul haha. This WIP fits more of the slice of life/contemporary genre, so I think it'd do well as a webtoon or a kdrama, which would just BE MY DREAMMM. Like I'll literally have to translate it in Korean if I have to.

4. what’s a wip that’s fairly easy for you to get back into writing? why?
Currently I have one WIP that I'm drafting and I'm outlining my other, Live Again. I would say that out of the two, Live Again is definitely easier to get back into!
22. when do you know you’re really in a writing frenzy?
You just know. Like I usually write in sprints because I usually need to throw myself in the WIP. But if the timer goes out and I'm still in there, noticing the time and just writing and writing and writing and not wanting to do anything else, then I'm in a writing frenzy. I can't stop, which is the best feeling in the world.

25. is there a wip you’ve re-written?
I'm currently in the process of rewriting Live Again into a much more fantasy-like story (it was too contemporary for me haha). But there hasn't been a wip that I've rewritten, only a few drafts that I finished. (The editing process is clearly something I'm not used to).
