Ok so Rottmnt Donnie headcanon.

Because donnie is a softshell and he has a battle shell to protect himself,he gets fatigues on his shell cuz’ of how heavy the battle shell is.

So sometimes he would begin his day without them,and while the discomfort of the battle shell is gone. the fatigue is there.

And there’s where his fam comes into play. When Raph hugs him he puts a little of pressure on donnie’s shell,he isn’t pressing too hard to hurt don and he isn’t too loose.

Since I live for the Disaster Twins,Leo’s presence already calms donnie down, so he likes it when ‘Nardo leans on his softshell with his own shell. He puts pressure on it and calms him down.

Mikey is either giving Don a massage (don’t ask me how u massage a shell) or is hugging him from behind with his body pressing on donnie’s shell.

April also leans on his shell but not like Leo, cuz she does that thing where you put your elbow on someone’s shoulder or back. It still helps tho.

Now since Cass and Cj (Casey Junior) become part of the family, they need Don to trust them before getting his approval for letting them reduce his shell fatigue pain a bit.

First Cass, when he finally trusts her, she also leans on him either like Lee or April sometimes, depending on her mood.

After trusting Cj, The future boy always leaning his head on him, sometimes he does like Mikey but not by much, and it’s rare.

His dad is mostly on his back tho lol,still helps.

When 2012 first got stuck in the rise universe. (And getting used to everything),they were confused to find that the rise gang always on donnie’s shell whenever he doesn’t have his battle shell on,and why he isn’t bothered by it.

The moment they were giving the real reason by him is when 12!Donnie and him were working on a machine, and Mikey entered to ask something from Don, he hugged him and pressed his body on his shell while asking AND DON DIDN’T SEEM TO CARE.

12!Don was concerned because isn’t his shell supposed to be vulnerable??, And he asked his Rise!counterpart about it and he was told that pressure helps with his fatigue.

Now. After they got comfortable with each other, the 2012 crew help with that! : D

12!Donnie sometimes would put his hand on Don’s softshell with a little pressure while they work.

12Leo would do like 12!Donnnie or would massage his shell aswell.

12!Mikey either leans like April or hugs him from behind like Mikey.

12!Raph would lean on Donnie any other way tbh,as long as it gets him comfortable and it doesn’t hurt Don too much.

12!April and 12!Casey are together on this cuz..well they both don’t do it as much but when they do, they give light hearted nudges, he’s surprised it’s affective.

12!Splinter does also massages.

A personal headcanon of mine is that phoenix rubs and pats people’s heads when he trusts them or feels close to them, maya, pearl, trucy, and athena love when he does it, because trucy knows he only does that because he’s close to her and athena can feel how happy he is when gets to do it, maya likes to do it to him in return, and pearl just loves pats in general and it’s a bonus if mr.nick is the one doing them,oh and trucy gets that habit from him too.

Apollo complains whenever pheonix pats/rubs his head because it ruins his hair but he secretly likes it.

Phoenix does it to miles at times but not before he asks if it’s alright cuz imo miles isn’t a fan of physical touches especially unprompted.

And Phoenix gets happier when someone does it to him.

I can’t make a fic rn because im not too confident in my writing skills and i don’t have a motivation but i do plan on making art at least, so here’s some plot snippets and ideas for you and for myself that i came up with in no particular order.

Boom!team sonic will obviously be thrown off by how softer modern!shadow is compared to his boom!counterpart.

Short modern!shadow and everyone just going “Dawwwwe he’s so short and adorable” till he does something badass and they remember it’s still a version of shadow.

Boom!sonic is absolutely smitten and in denial about modern!shadow.

Boom!amy appreciates modern!shadow’s outlook on life and things around him.

Modern!shadow and boom!sticks solidarity or hostility, no in between.

“Hah! I bet you barely can lift someone taller than you with your size!” Modern!shadow lifts a rock twice his size with one hand as if it weighs nothing “what the fuck??”.

Boom!shadow and modern!shadow either have a mutual understanding and stay away from each other, or start punching each other the moment they see the other.

Boom!sonic sassing modern!shadow and modern!shadow softly chuckling, leading to boom!sonic to go feral internally. (It became boom sonic x modern shadow im so sorry)

Modern!shadow having to deal with Boom!eggman.

Modern!shadow loves hanging out with boom!knuckles, he can’t help it the echidna is lovable.

Boom!tails asking modern!shadow questions ab himself and his world, and modern!shadow watches with amusement as boom!tails losing his shit at every little thing.

Modern!shadow hates hedgehog village and its ppl, and he thinks meh burger is disgusting.

Modern!shadow is good cook (personal hc) so he makes sure boom!team sonic won’t eat something as bad as meh burger.

Modboom!sonadow real.

Modern!shadow never thought he’ll fall for sonic let alone a goofier lanky version of faker, but he is and he will die for the moron.

The Ark and Maria stories that shadow is comfortable sharing with them. :)

Modern!shadow explaining chaos energy,chaos Emeralds, master emerald and how they work to boom!team sonic (personal hc chaos emeralds and master emerald don’t exist in boom).

Modern!shadow having to explain to modern!sonic and rouge that he somehow ended up dating a version of the blue hedgehog, he never will live it down.
