Spotify be making up genres because what on earth is 'indie poptimism' literally never heard of that before Spotify, but cool.. ? Time to look into it.
Half our most listened to genres are duplicates of one another ?? 🤣 I really don't know if “singer-songwriter pop” “gen z singer-songwriter” and “singer-songwriter” is all that necessary to be different genres, and not sub genres but-
you do you, boo
current update: playing the dangerous game of designing a DND character I relate to (and designing them to be a system) while hoping they don't introject to our system
Alright there's some things I need to say to some of you all.
If you are questioning whether or not you have DID/OSDD1, please take a breath and sit down for a second.
I see a lot of you post about how you're worried that you're wrong, that you're faking, that you're making it all up. I understand your fear. But it is absolutely not healthy to completely attach yourself to a disorder when you don't actually know if you have it or not.
You have to be prepared to be wrong.
And, it's okay to be wrong.
Honestly, it's a good thing if it's not DID.
But I understand that you think you know, and I'm not saying that you're wrong. What I'm saying is that you need to be okay with being wrong.
If the idea of being told you don't have DID scares you, I want you to think about why it scares you.
Does it scare you because you don't want to be told you're wrong, or that you maybe don't know as much about your brain as you thought you did?
Does it scare you because you don't know what else could be causing your distress?
Does it scare you to be back to the drawing board in terms of your symptoms?
Or does it scare you because you've attached yourself to this community, to this disorder, to this label?
Please, focus on what you are feeling. Your symptoms, your distress, your trauma if you can. Focus on how to heal.
Don't focus on the diagnostic label. The label is not as important as your healing is. And when you do get to talk to a therapist or psychiatrist, tell them the truth. Tell them about your symptoms and your history. They can help you figure these things out. That's what they are there for.
And if it will be a while before you can, take care of yourself. Honestly, I'd recommend limiting online interactions with the DID community for a variety of reasons. But if you do continue to be active in it: think critically, be open to discussion, and be open to being wrong.
No one should hate you for realizing you are wrong.
