If You Want To Move Forward In Advocacy, You Have To Remove The Stigma About Not Loving Someone In Any
If you want to move forward in advocacy, you have to remove the stigma about not loving someone in any way, shape, or form. It doesn't mean you hate them, just... you don't love them. That binary of love/hate needs to be broken down for all types of love. This applies to aros and aces in relationships, yes, but goes double for aplatonics and afamilials who don't love their family or friends. Not loving someone isn't a condemnation of that person, it just means you don't feel that way about them. Lacking love doesn't mean you wish someone harm.

Like sure it later turned out I was demisexual not asexual, but I'm still on that spectrum. I also went from thinking I wasn't on the aromantic spectrum to finding out I was demiromantic when I found out about the different types of attraction. BUT NO ONE EVER SAYS YOU'RE "TOO YOUNG TO KNOW" IF YOU HAVE HAD ATTRACTION DO THEY?!? NO. They assume you know what you're talking about when you say you like someone romantically. I didn't, I was 11, though it was attraction -it wasn't- and didn't want to hurt his feelings, but being ace was the thing I was "too young to know about".
Like op said: let aces be wrong. And don't have double standards about what must be phases because they're "too young too know". They're either too young to know about romantic AND sexual attraction or they're not and you let them figure out the correct label -should they want one- without commenting on it unless you're supporting them. ANYONE can be wrong about a label, just let people be.
LET ASEXUALS BE WRONG.
I am so sick of the argument that people on the aromantic/asexual spectrum are ‘too young to know’ or ‘just haven’t found the right person yet.’

Any label, lesbian, bi, trans, anything, has a chance of being found to be inaccurate.
Someone who thought they were a lesbian can later realize they’re actually bi, and people are perfectly fine with them using that label.
AT THIS TIME, the label aro/ace spec speaks to them, so LET THEM HAVE IT. I don’t care if they’re fucking 11, if they’ve done research and feel comfortable with the label then they should be able to use it without being accosted.
if you appear on my dash im booping you, even if i dont even know you
sorry
it's boop or be booped

[image I'd by @cripple-punk-dad (-- thank you):
Image ID The handshake meme format with four different muscular hands of varying skin tones and shirt colors shake hands. The labels on each arm from left to right read 4 hours of sleep, 8 hours of sleep, 12 hours of sleep, 30 minutes of sleep end text ID and the text in the middle of the handshake reads Waking up feeling exhausted. End text ID. all the letters are capitalized. End image ID ]
I am truly just booping everything I see. idc if I know them, idc if we are mutuals. if I perceive them they get booped. if I was actually a cat I would be insufferable.
