A 16th century German flammenschwert, or "flame sword", so named for the wavy shape of its blade. The blade's shape meant it was less likely to break on impact, and would also send a vibrating shock to an opponent when parrying. This particular sword belongs to a friend of mine, who got it from his friend's father, who in turn took it off the wall of a German castle during WWII.
