Prompt: Instead of running for prime minister (boring, only gives him control over England), the Master decides to become a famous rapper (exciting, ego-stroking, he's adored and worshipped by millions, and it's socially acceptable to rap about killing your ex). He probably gets the Doctor to be his groupie somehow idk go wild 👍

Yes, I think so. Aware, amused. It's not what outrages him, though - just a nuance he's aware of and not above using to his advantage to mess with the Doctor and Jack. Being restrained infuriates him, but he sees the emotional manipulation potential in their chosen method.
The Doctor either isn't aware of the human kink connotations of putting a collar on him, or isn't letting himself follow the train of thought (because Time Lord Dignity, etc etc, lalalala healthy denial). He's too busy being horrified that security measures are needed at all.
Jack... well, he knew exactly what he was doing in terms of payback, even as he found a way for it to be 100% rational and necessary for everyone's safety to shock-collar the Master. To be fair, his options for using the technology were limited once the Master broke his own hand to escape the handcuffs. It had to go where removal of the restraint would equal fatality.
(These men are not well.)
I love this episode so, so much... I’m not certain whether I can call it my absolute favorite because there are so many great Doctor Who episodes, but the interactions of the two Masters, both with one another and with the Doctor--and the way that they illustrate how much the Master and their relationship with the Doctor has changed and grown--it’s just so beautifully done. From the banter to the Doctor’s epic moral speech, I just love all of it.
Anyways this isn’t specifically relevant to this particular gifset, but it just showed up on my dash and I was like OMIGOSH THAT EPISOOODDEEE and I had to ramble about how much I love it. I need me that Doctor/Master interaction, and that multi-Master interaction, and just... all of it. Yes.
I’m so articulate tonight, haha.
I love any and all AU’s where the Doctor and the Master go travelling together, and this art style is just lovely! It’s all surreal and cubey but also soft and emotional, and the use of color and light is just beautiful :)
I've seen many people advertise their works here, so I decided to give it a try too. I have a short fic inspired by this post, and I would be delighted if anyone finds it interesting!
Summary: The Master comes to the conclusion that after the destruction of Gallifrey, he is the only surviving Time Lord, and the universe leaves him no choice but to become its protector. Eventually, he starts traveling with Rose.
The Tenth Doctor will appear soon, and the Master will finally regenerate in next chapter!
