I can't even begin to go over how many people don't understand this!
We don't have to be animals to make these sounds, it's in our natural everyday speaking patterns.
I keep seeing people making fun of using growled, hissed, roared, snarled etc in writing and it’s like.
have you never heard someone speak with the gravel in their voice when they get angry? Because that’s what a growl is.
Have you never heard someone sharply whisper something through the thin space of their teeth? Or when your mother sharply told you to stop it in public as a kid when you were acting up/being too loud? Because that’s what a hiss is.
Have you never heard a man get so blackout angry that their voice BOOMS through the house? Because that’s what a roar is.
Have you never seen someone bare their teeth while talking to accentuate their frustration or anger while speaking with a vicious tone? Because that’s what snarling is.
It’s not meant to be a literal animal noise. For the love of god, not every description is literal. I get some people are genuinely confused, but also some of these people are genuinely unimaginative as fuck.
I don't really have any original content posted yet so forgive the lack of anything to actually read on this blog yet,
But I was hoping to spread some positivity

Some writing advice I will hold on to until the day I die:
You don't need a dialogue tag for every exchange between characters, especially if it's clear who is speaking.
That's why character voice is so important to nail
If I am not, my characters must be. Someone must always be.

➤ i won't be able to write every single ask immediately. i just wanna say, i am extremely grateful to all my followers and their asks, but honestly i'm a very demotivated person. it takes me time and motivation to do the best i can with your requests, but i will never ignore it. if i don't feel comfortable or i am unable to write a certain ask I will definitely make a post and keep it up till whoever send me the ask replies to it through an ask or a dm.

I've been writing non-stop a few things for one shots/fics but I can't find the strength to publish them. How do u guys even dO THIS???
when i first created this account, i was kind of shy about leaving comments bc i was more used to wattpad, just commenting on a specific paragraph or leaving silly comments for fun... but then i started reading series and one-shots and drabbles and EVERYTHING just takes so much effort and creativity, you can't just not show love to that writer in any kind of way. all of them are amazing <3

Awkward first post
So, I decided to make a tumblr and therefore I'm prepared for the first couple of posts and experiences to be messy and awkward, since I've never really used this platform before. Yet, this is another place where writers and fans of writers live. Since I am both of those things, it's better late than never!
Right now, I'm just sharing things I do on my website, namely the Character Scenario posts. I'm pretty sure my friend that first introduced me to these exercises found them on Tumblr, but I've yet to rediscover them, so I'm making my own and sharing them here!

I get nostalgic for things I’ve never had or experienced. I feel nostalgia for all of the father’s days I should’ve spent with my dad. I love so wholely and so deeply he should be sorry for neglecting my admiration. A girl will always look up to her father until he refuses to look back at her. As I get older, I thought it would hurt less but I actually discovered the pain becomes nostalgia.

📚 My book is about a werewolf, who is the last royal alive in an anti-authoritarian society and has to struggle with his identity being exposed as the pressure of m-rder and politics grows. It comes out in August on Wattpad.
