I don't think many of you know me, I never thought I'd have to do this but.

My name is Marcela, I am a queer latinx woman and I am in dire need of financial help. My dad is diabetic, and has lost vision in his right eye due to a detached retina which means he has won't be able to work in at least 2 months and will definitely be laid off from his current job at the end of September.

I am the only other member of my family with a steady job right now but I can't cover our basic expenses such as rent and food and power.

On top of that, we are relying on the help of an NGO to get him the surgery he needs because my country's healthcare system is basically nonexistent and we do not have medical insurance. He is scheduled to get surgery next Wednesday but even with the NGO's help we are expecting a bill of around 5,000 quetzales or about USD700.
