No Nuance November-Harry Potter

Despite Harry and Hermione having better chemistry than Hermione and Ron in the the books and movies, they were better as friends

Hermione wasn’t actually worshipped in the movies, they just cut out a lot of scenes where she was made fun of by her classmates

The most underrated friendship in Harry Potter: Hermione and Neville

J.K. Rowling should’ve made Fremione canon like she’d planned to, Ronmione is still a good ship, but shipping guy/girl best friends is overrated

Dramione isn’t enemies-to-lovers despite what most might think, while he was mean to her and prejudiced against her, his actual enemy was Harry, Draco wouldn’t have ever noticed her beyond surface-level recognition if it wasn’t for Harry and Ron

Any ship with Draco is at least a little toxic

Snape didn’t deserve a redemption arc, he should’ve been the traitorous villain everyone thought he was, and made the last minute decision to protect Harry because ~’my god I’m helping a psychopath murder a child’~

Lupin and Tonks shouldn’t have been killed off, at least not both of them, for one; they are restarting a cycle of murdered parents orphaning their child during a war, and two; making Harry the godfather put an immense amount of pressure on a seventeen-year-old boy who’s already dealing with the aftermath of a war

Not a single Weasley should’ve died, #justiseforfred

The movies both pressured the audience to ship Ronmione and made it hard to, the movie did their first kiss dirty, as it did with Hinny

Speaking of Hinny, they should’ve been developed way earlier than they had, it was too sudden and awkward for Harry to just realize his feelings once she gets a boyfriend

You can complain about how the cast didn’t fit the book description all you want, not a single one of you can actually imagine anyone else for any of the roles, except for maybe the Marauders

Angelina doesn’t deserve the hate she gets at all

Dumbledore’s a dick

Sirius should’ve gotten to live with Harry like the family he’d always wanted but never gotten

Harry is a moron for naming his son and daughter after Severus and Luna, I get it, Luna was his friend, but so was Hermione and Ginny didn’t get any say in it, it so appears when it was her family that was most involved in his life (I’d forgotten that Ginny was friends with Luna and I apologize for that one, but the Severus one still stands)

Did Neville and Hannah Abbott actually have any canon interaction, in the books or movies?

Voldemort was a dramatic whore

Narcissa should’ve gotten more praise for being a caring mother and helping save Harry, even if for more selfish reasons

Sirius was a bit of an idiot, who the hell can’t send a letter or message or something explaining what’s going on but can send you expensive gifts?!

Why’d the Marauders look like they were in their forties, they were like 32, tf

✨Fremione and Nuna✨

More Posts from First-edition-dumpster-fire

Hello, we’re gonna talk about Bucky Barnes. I know, shocker. A totally new concept for which I have never written the likes of before. (Oof, I sound like Elizabeth Bennet. Neat!) As well as the beautiful and inspiring Agent Margaret ‘Peggy’ Carter. (Yeah, I put her full name and not Bucky’s cuz y’all already know how much I admire him.)

We all have our opinions on the latest and last Avengers movie Endgame. Whether it be that Tony shouldn’t have died. Natasha shouldn’t have died. Peter Parker and Nebula should’ve been adopted by Tony Stark. All popular opinions and theories and reasonably acceptable alternate endings. (Personally, I agree with all of these and I’m genuinely upset that the actors contracts ended on that note.) Now the opinion that has become the main topic for this post is the ever-so-popular argument on the ending for the former Captain America, Steve Rogers. No, I’m not talking about giving his shield, mantle, and title over to his friend and teammate Sam Wilson. I actually think this was a smart move on the directors part, if a little untimely. Sam would’ve always been Captain America, though he would’ve had to wait until Bucky got his turn. I’m getting off course and y’all have to deal with that, sorry. Anyway, I’m talking about Steve going to replace the stones and staying in the past.

It was cute. It was, truly. Hero gets the girl and all that jazz. And it would’ve even made sense, if not for the obvious. The obvious being that Steve’s ending did not in any way capture the story of his life. Or Peggy’s. He was so incredibly selfish that his actions would’ve ruined his characters if not for other factors. He disrupted the entirety of her life. Peggy founded S.H.I.E.L.D. Peggy Carter got married. Peggy Carter had children. Peggy Carter had a fulfilling career and life. She died of old age surrounded by the people who loved and admired her the most. Hell, she even got to ease the guilt and sadness caused by Steve Rogers’ supposed death. Not many people get to say that. She was a wonderful and amazing woman. Not to mention a feminist icon. All of it, nearly her entire life was undone by one dumbass she kissed once. Just once. Yes, she missed him, wished it could’ve been something more, maybe even fantasized on what could’ve been a few times. But she was content, happy. She didn’t deserve having her path screwed up and her family blown out of existence. Especially not to the man who kissed her niece just days after her funeral. The disrespect. (If you ship Steve and Sharon, that’s on you.) Peggy probably never even knew that Bucky was still alive, if Steve told her along with what happened to Bucky, I’d like to believe that she sure as shit pitched a fit to Steve about his idiocy. Because who the hell abandons their best friend, their brother, in a world where they are either hated or constantly misunderstood. I know, I just know, that if there was a way to send Steve back, she would’ve. For Bucky’s sake, if nothing else. But there wasn’t and Peggy Carter is nothing if not a reasonable and thoughtful woman.

She knows that Bucky can handle it. We all do. But he shouldn’t have to do it alone. He deserves more than that. Yeah, he has Sam. But, in the movies, Sam is shown to barely tolerate Bucky, sometimes aligning with him to save the world whenever the situation calls for it. I love the Stackie friendship. I think it’s great, honestly. But we have to remember that canonically, Sam just doesn’t like Bucky that much. And he has every right not to. Regardless of the brainwashing, Bucky did try to kill Sam on multiple occasions. And Sam wouldn’t be Sam if he just forgave him, even if Bucky did apologize for his actions and tried to make amends. And, yes, in the FATWS trailer they appear to be friends or at the very least friendly. But there is over a year-and-a-half distance between Endgame and FATWS, giving them plenty of time to get better acquainted as more than frenemies and on-and-off allies. But I’m not talking about in the near future, I’m talking about post-Endgame, where they haven’t quite gotten that far. There’s camaraderie there, which is good, but I felt that, realistically, it only exists because they both know that they’re gonna be stuck together for a while and know better, know that they have to make the most of the situation.

Honestly, it makes the entirety of the Captain America storyline, where it is explicitly stressed that Steve and Bucky are close friends who’d do just about anything for each other, a moot point. I’m not trying to offend the Stucky shippers, really. Stucky makes more sense that Steve and Sharon anyway. I’m just referring to the fact that Steve and Bucky aren’t a canon couple in the sense that they were never specifically written as one. (And I stg that if they follow up on the rumors that say that Bucky and Sharon will be a couple, the producers and directors and story writers will be catching my fucking hands.) It just doesn’t make any sense that Steve would spend so much time mourning Bucky, constantly implying how much he needs Bucky in his life, then doing everything and anything to ensure Bucky’s safety only to leave him for the first woman who ever looked at him in interest. Especially since it usually takes less than a year to get over a crush and homie had over seventy years, nearly ten of those where he could have consciously gotten over her. But with Bucky, he might not have had a lot of time with him, but it was always supposed to have meant that he would have waited for his friend to get better. Bucky wasn’t dying, Bucky wasn’t about to leave him behind. If anything, Bucky was just as eager to get better so he could reconnect with the only person who could even marginally understand him and his trauma. (Natasha could have, too, but they killed her, so...) The only people who even like Bucky are Shuri and T’Challa, who re-dubbed him as the White Wolf. (In the comics, the White Wolf was the adoptive brother of the Black Panther, so T’Challa and Shuri and Mother Queen Ramonda straight up adopted Bucky Barnes into the royal family. This is based on the rumors that Bucky will be replacing Hunter as the White Wolf in the MCU.)

Point is that Steve left Bucky behind, their friendship being a main plot point in all of the Captain America movies, and it makes no sense and makes it seem like their friendship meant nothing when Steve went back to Peggy. Hopefully, they can remedy this in FATWS by making old Steve a kind of mentor to the new Captain America and a sort of guidance towards Bucky. Steve’s entire personality was his compassion, consideration, and commitment to the people he cared about and his morals which he is often bull-headed about. I love Steve Rogers. Captain America is one of my favorite superheroes. Chris Evans portrayed this character perfectly and really brought the character to life. But what the fuck was that ending. All I’m saying-she says after like four paragraphs-is that they could’ve done worse.

Bet.

Edward Cullen, in my opinion, ain’t it. The canon version anyway. If you like him, good for you, tell me why bc I genuinely want to know. I have my own reasons for not liking him just as anyone might have their own reasons for disagreeing. And, this might come as a shock, that is okay. It is okay to dislike a fictional character bc tHAT IS WHAT HE IS. I do like a few things about him but the things I do not like simply outnumber those very good traits. I used to worship his character but as I grew and changed I saw things differently and changed my opinion. Like some people do.

Is Rosalie my favorite character. No, I think she has character flaws such as being unnecessarily rude, but I also think she is a bad bitch who deserves a bit of respect. (Come on, she murdered her rapist fiancé and his scumbag friends while wearing the wedding dress she was supposed to be married in! That’s awesome!) Do I think that she should be more respectful towards the wolves, yes. Should she maybe appreciate the good things in her long life, like true love and safety, absolutely.

But the sibling dynamic of hating on the annoying and over-dramatic brother is hilarious and Rosalie clowning Edward is literally one of my favorite parts about the entire franchise

Okay, okay, okay. So, Civil War. Yes, the dreaded divorce between Steve and Iron Man. I once theorized (yea, through Tik Tok again) that Bucky was used by Zemo as just a means to an end. Bucky was the catalyst to the destruction of the Avengers, not the cause. Why? Well, look at the most basic terms. Civil War. Every war has its battles, this one had only two. The first and initial battle happened in Germany. Then, it was just two groups with opposing perspectives pulling any allies they could in assistance. Sure, Steve fought only because they threatened Bucky, but they didn’t. No one except T’Challa did. If anything, they were trying to prevent T’Challa from killing Bucky. Tony was there because of the Accords. He didn’t care about Steve’s new pal, yeah, he was accused of killing King T’Chaka, but it was just an apprehension to Tony. He was following orders. He wanted to help Steve, to straighten everything out. The back up and potential arrests were only in a worst case scenario. And even then, once the arrests were made and he realized just how far, too far, the Accords went, Tony tried to make up for it. He realized he was wrong. And that could’ve been the end of it. Steve would’ve gone off radar, so would each of his allies, and Tony and the remaining Avengers would’ve gone on with their lives, half-heartedly chasing after Steve whenever he showed his face. That’s obviously not what happened, but it was so close to being a possibility.

Zemo is a lot like Ultron. They both hate the Avengers and want to destroy them under the guise of vengeance or protecting the people. The biggest mistakes Ultron made, which led to his defeat and death, were posing as a threat to humanity. He could’ve killed off the world’s mightiest heroes and then done away with humanity. They were already partially divided via Wanda’s mental attacks. He had almost won, but rushing it caused his plans to collapse on themselves. He went with the two-birds-one-stone solution and paired with the fact that he aligned himself with two kids with consciences and who were in way over their heads, he was bound to fail at some point. Ultron impatience caused his plan to collapse on itself. He made himself the common goal that united the Avengers and cemented their familial bonds to one another. He both failed and turned his only team members against him. Was killed by one of them. Zemo got lucky. He took advantage of an already precarious situation. The Avengers were facing the repercussions of what had happened in Sokovia. He had a plan. Ultron was technically a baby throwing a tantrum. Yes, a well informed baby that’s tantrum almost wiped out mankind, but a baby nonetheless. Zemo lost his family. He lost everything he cared about to the people sworn to protect and defend them. He was obsessed. He spent weeks, months, researching his enemies and planning for the best course of actions. Made more plans, just in case.

He found his champion, the unwilling and unwitting Bucky Barnes, who wanted nothing more than to just leave his past behind him and rediscover himself. Zemo knew that he might’ve had to wait years to reach his goals, he was vengeful not stupid. But he was just impatient enough to use Bucky whenever the opportunity presented itself, regardless of other factors or their consequences. Funnily enough, Wanda’s unfortunate slip that resulted in innocent Wakandan lives taken was the perfect opening for the start of his plan. Kill the king of a third world country and start a global outrage. If Steve Rogers was even a tenth of as loyal to Bucky as Zemo thought he was, he’d fight to the death to protect him. And once Zemo confirmed that Bucky killed the Starks under Hydra’s command and brainwashing, Tony would go into a rage that would cause a permanent rift between the Avengers. Zemo knew that his actions would end in either his arrest or death. He prepared for that, too. He deserved it. No matter how he planned it, people would die, some of them would be innocent. He’d kill himself and really cement his place in Hell. But those monsters who took his family would go down with him.

To be completely honest, Zemo felt bad for Bucky. He felt guilty having to use this struggling man, this innocent man, to achieve his goals. But in his eyes it was the only way. Because the Avengers were terrorists, and Bucky was going to help Zemo save millions of families from those dangerous and out of control people who hold little value for human life. Once again, Bucky was portrayed as a hero for a madman’s devices. It was laughable, how often this man manipulated. He’d been manipulated the majority of his much too long life. But, since he had already handled it once already, for seventy years, he would deal with it one more time for a few days until his death.

Bucky was still alive. He should’ve been killed. He wasn’t. Maybe there was a God. A God who decided that James Buchanan Barnes had had enough. Because Bucky Barnes had been to Hell, and he kept going. He was used as a pawn, twice. He’d had been trapped in his own mind, twice. He’d been turned against his best friend, twice. He’d been granted clemency and forgiveness once and it was plenty for him. He might not have thought he deserved it, but the fact that he had it at all proved that maybe he could. Maybe he could forgive himself. Maybe he could be a hero.

Like, honestly though! Can I add to this? Because over the course of the books, Bella loses her spunk, her original identity, and all of the things that made her likable. Once Edward left then came back, her entire personality came from making him stay with her. She even said so herself, that being a vampire was no longer about being with him forever and being his equal, it was about being able to keep up with him if he ever left her again. And that’s so sad. Did y’all know that her dream was to be a teacher like her mother, but for high schoolers or college students. She never wanted children and didn’t want to be around them either. I miss twilight!Bella and fucking Edward killed her long before he made her a vampire!

Also I’m sorry for tagging onto the original post without asking, that’s my bad, but I just wanted to get this out without confusing anyone.

shame how the twilight books went from dreamy woodland fantasy to perfect suburban housewife life as the series went on

Chadwick Boseman was a phenomenal man, actor, husband to his wife, and friend and mentor to all that met him. He lives on in the hearts of his loved ones and the billions of people he inspired in his too short lifetime. My heart and best wishes go to his family who are grieving in this tragic time. He was a legend and a king, both on-screen and off.
