As the graphic in today’s message reminds us ” just as Jesus said — “I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE” [ John 14:6 ] and this is the ONE WAY to eternal life. Sadly, while the opposite sign clearly says Do Not Enter Jesus also warns us that “Wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.” [ Matthew 7:13 ]

The decision in which direction to go is clear. The signs are there for all to read.

The world is in chaos, and everywhere we look today there is strife, uncertainty and the constant threat of war. People are looking for someone to step up and fix things, so a superhero seems like the perfect solution, and in our subconscious yearning, fantasy writers have given us this hope through characters like Superman, Batman and Ironman.

People flock to the idea of these superheroes because deep-down they want to see a mighty being that will save us from the world’s problems, and unfortunately, there IS a person coming that will do just that. He will proclaim that he is the savior of the world, and people — desperate for any superhero that can fit that role — will worship and adore him. That is a man is what the Bible calls the ”Anti-Christ.”

However there is only one true savior of mankind and it is not Superman, or Batman, or Ironman but THE SON OF MAN, JESUS CHRIST. When He returns to the earth, the Bible says that he will place all of His enemies under His feet and rule the earth in Peace.

If you are looking for a superhero, look no further. There is only one that is “THE ALMIGHTY” and that is Jesus Christ. Put your trust in Him. He is the only one that will SAVE THE WORLD...and He can and will save you too, if you ask Him too.

oday’s verse are powerful words from Christ to the church or Laodicea, the last of the seven churches listed in Revelation chapters two and three. Laodicea means literally '(the) people (are) ruling' and it is a condemnation of how Christians in that church had become lethargic about their walk with and relationship with God.

Today we are repeating this same pattern in modern day Christianity where emphasis on self, comfort, and wealth are more important than devotion to God and letting Him rule our lives, not we ourselves. The Bible clearly tells us from prophecy and scripture that these are indeed the 'End Times' and that we must all be careful in this last age to not make the same mistake as the Laodiceans and heed Christ’s warning. Instead of having 'People Rule' in our churches and personal lives, we need to have 'God Rule,' be HOT and wake up our spiritual lives to be on FIRE for Him instead of yielding to lukewarm faith like the Laodiceans.

So how do we avoid becoming lukewarm — or even worse — cold towards God?! By staying close to God’s Word! The Word is shaper than any two edge sword, and when you apply it daily in your life it penetrates deeply inside your soul down to your very bones and transform you into His image, and not your own.

Friend, your spiritual life, and the life of your church will be HOT when you stay close to God’s Word and are obedient and faithful to Him. Be always as Colossians 3:15 says to “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body,” and not the wanton desires of an easy life. When you do, His Peace (which means WHOLENESS) will keep you HOT, and He will never spit those that are “Out of His Mouth.”

Long before cell phones, everyone had a telephone at home, and their name, address, and phone number was in a book published by the local phone company called “The White Pages.” So when someone wanted to reach you, you’d just tell them, “I’m In The Book!”

While the White Pages have long faded into history, there is another much more important book in heaven called THE BOOK OF LIFE, and in that book is written the names of all those that will one day be in heaven. As today’s verse says, not everyone’s name is in that book, because all those that are unworthy will not be allowed into heaven. So the question is, who are those that are WORTHY and those UNWORTHY, and which one are you?

God likewise, wants to reach you, and you must be IN THE BOOK and to do so, the Bible says:

“Do those things that will show that You have turned from your sins.” Matthew 3:8

This is what the Bible calls REPENTENCE, that is that you confess and admit that you are a sinner and are asking for God’s forgiveness. For many people this is not easy because they (maybe you?) don’t think you are that bad or that God is that unmerciful that your name isn’t automatically 'in the book' — but that is not what the Bible says! Only those that are found to be worthy are in that book and all those that are not worthy are not.

Friend, God cannot find you if your name is not IN THE BOOK, and there is no reason why your name should not be in it except you choose not to be in it. You can be worthy before God! Simply ask Him from a sincere and pure heart to forgive you of your sins, And He Will.

Modern science (which we are supposed to always trust and “Follow”) says that there was this “Big Bang,” and over billions of years a hot rock evolved into an orbit around the sun, cooled, formed primordial chemicals in a swamp and somehow, someway (that no one can explain...) 'life' began, and eventually all animals, plants and humans just 'evolved.' The Gospel of Darwin thus teaches that Darwin+Rock=YOU, and not that silly religious superstition you are a creation of God in “His Image” [ Genesis 1:26 ] If you follow and believe that line of thinking, then you believe your life is based upon a ROCK.

However there is another ROCK on which we are built ON and FROM, and that is Christ. As today’s scripture tells us, those lives that are built UPON (not 'evolved from') an inanimate rock will stand long after this third rock from the sun is long gone.

While the earth may be around a lot longer that you will, if your life is based upon the rock, which is Christ, when the storms of this life and the last storm of death beat upon you, then your foundation will eternally stand.

Friend, base your life on the TRUE ROCK which is Christ, because He is the only foundation that will last forever.

Our lives are continually full of CHOICES, and the question is what kind of choices will we make?

Most choices are indeed neutral — like choosing to go buy groceries or go for a walk, but as today’s title says when we choose to do things that are contrary to the way God would want us to choose, then that choice always leads to sin.

This is one of the greatest challenges in life, because while we may mean in our heart to not do the wrong thing, our lower human, sinful nature often kicks in and we instead choose to go LEFT, when instead we should have gone RIGHT.

The simplicity of this verse from Psalm 25:12 is a reminder that God is always there to show us the way, and when we heed His direction and not our own, we can always be assured that we will not cross onto the tracks of danger.

As the psalmist said — God Will ALWAYS Show You The Way You Should Choose! Choose His Path, and you will never make a wrong turn.
