“It’s exactly what I’m made for.”

James realized that his feelings towards Regulus probably weren’t healthy.

But he couldn’t help it.

He couldn’t help loving so aggressively and so fully that he felt he couldn’t even eat some days.

He couldn’t help it when he was blissed out from pleasure and he thought Regulus was an angel.

He couldn’t help the beats his heart skipped anytime Regulus entered the room.

He couldn’t help his hands when they wandered towards his husband, seeking for any form of touch between the two of them.

He couldn’t help it if Regulus was the first thing on his mind when he woke up and the last thought in his brain before he went to sleep.

He didn’t care if this was unhealthy. 

Because Regulus was the best thing to ever happen to James and James loved him.

James loved Regulus more than he’d ever know.

Sirius ruined everything by running away. Regulus ruined everything by staying.

james extends his hand to regulus and they start spinning around the room together.

this becomes a thing for them, but overtime it evolves from spinning around the room to jailhouse rock to slow dancing to can't help falling in love.

several years later, james can't bring himself to listen to can't help falling in love. his friends don't understand the significance behind it. what was once his favorite artist, now holds so many painful memories.
