Hello! I'm 21 years old. I'm an Argentine Communications student. I'm writing my thesis on how fanon is built within fandoms. Please rb to help me reach more people.
I'm looking for a way to get in contact with the legendary MsKingBean89,
in hopes they'll be kind enough to grant me an interview. It'd be (of course) under that username, and I'M NOT GOING TO ASK FOR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. All I need is a short interview (could be written, but I'm okay doing it over voice call or any other way they prefer) about the Marauders fandom and the fanon.
This may be a long shot, but it's worth trying.
I've been in the fandom for a while, so when I had to choose a topic for my thesis I knew I had to do something like this. I've always been fascinated by the way the fandom works, how we create all this content we identify as The Marauders™, even though there isn't a lot of canon information about the characters and their story. I love the personalities we've given them, all the symbols we identify them with, and all the relationships we've created.
I'm studying the way people interact on the internet and the colective creation that results of that interaction.
If you want to talk about this, the Marauders or have any suggestions or ideas I'd love to chat!!

James is smart! He's the gifted kid who has the best grades without studying. He reads for fun, and he knows fancy words, and he has a lot of random knowledge he just pulls out of nowhere during conversation. He brags about it a lot, he thinks he's sooo smart and intelligent because everyone tells him he is and he brags about never studying and always having good grades. This man is Euphemia and Monty Potter's son, he is educated. I'm sick of people characterising him as a dumb himbo just to make Regulus/Lily look smarter. They can be smart together yk, I actually think smart jock x smart nerd is a better dynamic than smart nerd x dumb himbo.
Thinking about how all the Marauders would've been total losers if they were gen z. Like, a guy that dresses like a grandpa, a wannabe rockstar obsessed with Queen, a nerd that would 1000% love Spiderman too much and a chess champion? Not to mention that most of them are gay? Losers (affectionate)

when sirius and james’s friendship was a major point and not put behind james and regulus
where sirius/andromeda were the actual rebels of the black family not regulus cus he legit didn’t do shit
where james’s character was understood enough to not ship him with what he fought against his entire life ( the potters being one of the only pire blood family that fought against the supremacist movement)
where remus being a werewolf didn’t make him angry and violent on the contrary made him a sensitive and sweet guy
where lily aka the most important character on the series wasn’t cast away
where deatheaters were actually criticized and not babied. where people understood the IMPORTANCE of the concept of deatheaters and how they exist in our world too. that’s why WE HATE THEM
where ships made somewhat sense. because sirius and remus have symbolism there is something greater about them than just being a gay couple. the moon and the stars.

He thinks he's made it.
As he tiptoes in to his dorm room with practiced ease, shucks off the Invisibility Cloak and falls into bed, he doesn't hear a sound. So he thinks he's in the clear.
Letting out a sigh of relief, he grins art the canopy of his bed, unable to stop the pink that rises to his cheeks. Regulus. He touches a fingertip to his lips, remembering how, only minutes earlier, the younger boy had been whispering against them. Mouthing along the sensitive skin on his neck. Even as someone raised in a magic household, it had been the most magical moment of his life.
He falls asleep dreaming of gray eyes and pretty scowls.

"Where were you last night?" Sirius asks him the next morning, shocking James out of his lovestruck grin.
"Erm-" He'd been so careful. So careful to not make a sound as he'd entered and left. How had he-?
"Take the Map next time, Prongs," Sirius advises, smirking and rolling his eyes as he tosses the old parchment to him. "And if you left a mark on my brother like he did on you, I'll rethink being so nice."

One of the most annoying thing to happen to the marauders fandom is all the young dudes fic becoming extremely popular and everyone using it as canon material and not even reading the books or even watching the movies and only going by that fic. It's become so infectious, and inescapable. Like at this point the popular depiction of Remus and Sirius are so fanon. It's wild and wholly unenjoyable.
This is my opinion, skip if this doesn't vibe with you. But I'm allowed to complain.
Regulus would be a cool uncle (or godfather) for Luna
like imagine him being a uncle he would sit with her and do her homework with her and also teacher her how to deal with bullies, not to mention the fun trips to Barty and Evan’s house, Luna would have so many fun stories to tell her mom and dad when she got back home
I love how as a whole the Marauders fandom babygirl-atized every death eater

"What the fuck is that?" Remus asked, his face contorted in a bemusing mixture of confusion and annoyance. Sirius grinned, couldn't help it. He leant against the barrel he had rolled all the way to the dormitory building, it was heavy and here Remus was not even appreciating the effort he'd put into getting it all the way here. "Wine, obviously" Sirius drawled, that much was probably obvious but hey who's to say he shouldn't play dumb occasionally. Remus scoffed "I can see that much Pads, do you even know how much a barrel of wine is?" He said, shaking his hands at the wooden cylinder like it was offensive. It made Sirius smile more. "It can't be that much" Sirius reasoned - sure the thing was sizeable but he'd managed to get it here on his own all the way from the chapels basement. Remus stared at the barrel some more, not even looking at Sirius "225 litres" he muttered "you stole 225 litres of hallowed wine" Remus was in disbelief by the look on his face. That's exactly what Sirius had hoped to achieve.
I want to write a school years long fic (prob Remus POV because i kin him) and I've been stuck for a while... do I make Regulus a ravenclaw and save him or do I make him slytherin and have canon compliance and drown the man

"What about Pettigrew?" Regulus asked, hesitantly voicing the thought he'd been keeping to himself for weeks.
Four pairs of eyes turned towards him.
"Reg, love, I-" Lily murmured softly, holding a nursing Harry in her arms.
"He would never," Sirius said, looking disgusted.
"Well, it has to be someone!" Regulus bust out, frustrated. They'd been at this for weeks, now. Trying to determine who was passing information to Voldemort. Who was close enough to them to know such crucial things, but sneaky enough to get away with it.
Of course, Regulus knew that a fair few people suspected him. The thought of it made him want to scream. The idea of betraying his husband and wife, not to mention his brother ad best friend, made him feel nauseous.
But Peter? He'd always been a bit sly. His Animagus was a rat, for Merlin's sake. And he'd been strangely absent lately...
"Have you seen him at meetings?" Remus asked thoughtfully, always the voice of reason.
"No," Regulus admitted. It was true. When he went to Death Eater meetings to spy, Peter was nowhere to be seen.
"I don't think he would do that," James murmured, eyes heavy with sadness. "I can't imagine..." a tear dropped to his cheek.
"He wouldn't," Sirius insisted, jaw set.
But as Regulus fell to the floor on October 31st, 1981, clutching the hands of Lily and James to his chest, screaming in agony at the sight of their lifeless bodies, he knew.
He was right.
And, allowing the anger to overflow within him, the loss and denial and feeling of utter despair and loneliness ripping through his very soul, he screamed as Sirius, who stumbled through the door with wide eyes.
"Do you believe me now?"
