Popo:"It's an action-platformer-adventure game with randomly generated levels."

Nana:"And you have to start from the very beginning if you lose a life!"

Luigi:"I...think that's been done already."

[A reference to Spelunky and an Ice Climbers game idea I had that was basically a vertical Spelunky.]

Wario:”Yup! The Purple Wind! Silent, but deadly.”

Joker:”I’m not even dignifying that with a response.”

[A reference to the DS game, Wario: Master of Disguise.]

Bowser:"Y'know, that Kamoshida guy's lucky you stole his heart, Joker." 

Joker:"Why's that, Bowser?"

Bowser:"If Wendy had gone to Shujin, I'd have ripped it out!"

[Some Mario fans depict the post New Super Mario Bros. U Koopalings as late-middle or early-high school age. Kamoshida, the Shujin High gym teacher and volleyball coach, is the first target and did...horrible things to the female students.]

Smash Intros: Lucas VS Donkey Kong

Lucas:"You lost your mother too?"

DK:"She was...old, Lucas. It was gonna happen sooner or later."

Lucas:"That doesn't mean it hurts any less."

[Wrinkly Kong was Cranky Kong's wife, who appeared as a ghost in DK64. The two are often believed to be DK's parents.]

Smash Intros: Ryu VS Little Mac

Ryu:”The WVBA allows boxers to use WEAPONS!?”

Little Mac:”And magic, power boost sodas, and squirrels. It’s crazy!”

Ryu:”It’s disgraceful, is what it is.”

[This is a reference to the various tricks, cheats, and gimmicks all the Punch-Out boxers use in the Wii game. As a traditional martial artist with a strong sense of fair play, Ryu would likely frown on such practices.]
