The morning after, you did your normal morning routine, the only difference was the feeling of someone watching you.

You've never felt unsafe and uncomfortable in your own house, but ever since yesterday you've been feeling uneasy.

Like the walls had eyes of their own, following your every action, you've tried to let go of the feeling for now and not tell your husband about yesterday.

You tried convincing yourself that you must've been Hallucinating, that you were just seeing things, but no matter how many times you tried you couldn't shake off the feeling that someone was actually there.

Trying to act like everything was okay, like someone didn't just take a picture of you naked, with your husband in bed, felt almost impossible that even sunghoon noticed that you're not like how you normally are, so he decided to call sick from work for today to stay at home with you.

Of course, you tried changing his mind that you're fine and missing work for two days is utterly unacceptable, but he only pushed it off saying “you're more important to me, doll.” Which got you rolling your eyes at him.

After breakfast you both baked cookies, which turned into a flour fight but you still got the cookies done. Then you both took a bath where sunghoon insisted that you should do it together to “save water”, y'all were in there for almost 3 hours, which made you curse at yourself for not being able to say no to your husband.

So now it's almost 8 pm and you're both cuddling on the couch, scrolling through your phone, drinking chamomile tea while he's going through the tv channels, munching on the cookies you both made not finding anything interesting.

That's when he decided to just leave the tv on the news channel and look at your phone with you instead, 10 mins went by until you heard the news reporter talking about some crime that apparently happened yesterday.

The reports are showing that the crime happened near your city, though it didn't surprise you since there's been a lot of repetition of the same crime, happening almost every week and every time it's been done by the same killer, who still hasn't been caught.

Recently the police have been trying to catch a killer going by the name “acid killer” since he uses acid as the main source of his killing, apparently it has been happening for almost a year now and the suspect has never been caught.

From what the police explained to the public, the killer makes the hostage drink acid and then skin them alive so they won't be recognizable. Who in their right mind would even have the guts to do any of this.

Your eyes were fixated on the screen, finding interest in it as you were oblivious to sunghoon sitting next to you, looking way too calm especially with the smirk on his face.

“This case has been open for so long and the police barely have any leads, do you think they'll get caught any time soon?” you asked a hint of wariness in your voice.

“He hasn't been caught for a year and the police barely have any leads, it seems like the police are having a challenge, but no matter what, I'll make sure no one gets their hands on you. You're only mine after all.”

You took his words as a sign of his love for you and smiled at him, finding comfort in his words… if only you noticed the small little signs in his words before it became late.

The quiet atmosphere in your house came to a halt as soon as you both heard the sound of a dog barking like crazy and the sound of people yelling outside, you flinched at the sudden loud voices.

Your hold on sunghoon’s hand tightens while trying to make out what all the screaming is about, you look back at sunghoon with a pleading look in your eyes, and without any words exchanged he understood what you wanted making his eyes roll at you.

“Oh hush I know you're also curious about what they're fighting about!” he gave you a chuckle before he put one of his hands under your knees and behind your neck and held you up, making his way to the window. He settled you on the couch under the window while opening the blinds and the window a bit just to get a small peek.

You look outside to see both of your neighbors screaming at each other while their dog is following behind them still barking “don't deny it, I saw the pictures with my own eyes, you creep.” Mrs.kang says furiously as it looks like she's making her way to her car with her husband following behind her.

“I told you already these are not mine, I don't know who put them there but I did not take these pictures.” Mr.kang replies catching up with his wife before she enters the car.

“Turns out he's a creep, not surprised though he does look like one.” Sunghoon whispers to you as if your neighbors can hear you if you speak any louder, and you couldn't help the little giggle that fell from your lips, it quickly died down when you saw mrs.kang slap her husband so hard that the sound was clearly heared by you and sunghoon as you both gasp at the sudden show of violence.

“You motherfucker, I knew you were a Pervert but I didn't think you'd go and creep up on young ladies who are married, what will Mr.Park say once he finds out you've been taking secret pictures of his wife, nevertheless when she's nude.”

and suddenly it felt like the world stopped, you couldn't hear any of the neighbors yelling as you tried to process what you just heard. Yesterday, the flash in the window, was mr.kang?

Of course your neighbors weren't the best of people, but it's still a bit surprising that they had the heart to do something like that, though it didn't add up with how could mr.kang even climb up to your room's balcony, or maybe the flash was too bright?

Your thoughts suddenly stopped at the feeling of a trembling hand around your waist, you looked back just to see sunghoon looking straight at your neighbors, specifically mr.kang, through the living room window, you can almost feel the anger coursing through his body.

You put your hand on his trying to calm him down, you both have the right to be mad right now but this could be solved in much better ways than violence, Sunghoon looks down at you holding himself back from spewing bloodshed In front of you.

Your small staring contest gets cut off by the sound of Mrs.kang slapping her husband again “I will not tolerate this behavior, you can save your explanations to the police. And I've got all the proof here so you better not lie to me, pictures of her while she sleeps, you creep!”

“Goddammit women, I'm not gonna explain shit when I know I didn't do anything. Even if I did it's not like we do anything in the bedroom so might as well find someone else to entertain me.” Mrs. Kang ignored him as she made her way to her car before Mr.kang held her back, probably trying to stop her from going to the police station.

After the whole neighbor ordeal happened with mr.kang convincing his wife to talk it out, sunghoon couldn't leave your side for a second, he helped you relax from everything that happened, and he tried convincing you to press charges against him but you just shook your head and decided on locking the windows and shut the curtains next time.

But sunghoon couldn't keep up like this, it's like he couldn't trust his own house anymore, not like you blame him ever since this whole stalking thing unfolded you've felt like there's eyes around the whole house, watching your every move, so you felt much grateful for sunghoon’s presence.

It was almost 2 am as you were finishing some work while drinking chamomile tea made by sunghoon, he was waiting for you in bed, he didn't initiate anything today which felt not normal at all especially since he's always trying to do something to get you in bed.

When he saw you getting closer he jumped up and helped you get in bed with a small “finally!” coming out of his mouth, “missed me, huh?” You replied teasing him at how clingy he can be, not like you're complaining.

“So much! I was dying slowly the longer you were away from me.” He joked as he hugged your body, tightening his hold on you while you played with his hair "you're so dramatic" you rolled your eyes.

It wasn't long before you flaked out, Sunghoon can feel your chest going up and down as you breathe slowly, the small snores coming from your mouth are confirming that you're fast asleep.

He made his way out of your bed to the walk-in closet in your bedroom, he put on his work suit and shoes trying not to make a lot of sound to not wake you up, which won't happen since your chamomile tea consisted of an extra ingredient today.

A sleeping drug.

He made his way out of the house after he made sure that all the curtains were firmly closed, got in the car and took the route to the work company which was dark and quiet since it's past midnight already. He went quickly to the elevator going down to the basement.

The basement was also quiet, of course there were some workers in their office minding their own business, doing their own work. Sunghoon made his way to the main office, he opened the door just to see his two close co-workers right there.

No words needed to understand that sunghoon was mad, he didn't just look mad he looked furious like he can almost blow this whole place up.

He couldn't take his anger out on your neighbor since you were right there, he didn't want you to see his other side, the side that you'll hate, you'll loathe him if you find out what the real him does, if he could he would've stabbed your neighbor till you can see his insides clearly.

He's gonna make him regret ever looking your way, he'll make him pay. Sunghoon's thoughts are all over the place, someone saw his wife in such a vulnerable state and he's still alive, how can he stay sane when that motherfucker is probably safely asleep right now.

“We're gonna kill the neighbors.”

Heeseung and Jay both looked at him confused about what he was talking about, he just came in looking like a madman talking about killing, not like it's a new thing but a bit of context would've been helpful.

“What did your old aged neighbors do? They can barely even walk.” Jay said in a joking manner but still curious.

“Did Mr.kang take secret pictures of your ‘doll’ or something?, like what's the worst they can do.” Heeseung joked while he and Jay were laughing.

Sunghoon stayed quiet getting irritated trying to think of ways to torture mr.kang, jay noticed his boss’s silence, his eyes widening they can almost pop off.

“Wait, you're being serious? I didn't think that old man could even do anything other than complain about his wife.” Jay uttered still not believing it, when he and heeseung tried finding information about the neighbors, prior to sunghoons order, they were just a normal old married couple nothing seemed off.

“Let's get rid of the dog.” Sunghoon blurted out, finally looking content with the decision he came to.

“Woah woah woah! The dog?! Since when are we doing animal abuse here?” Jay replied hoping to change his boss' mind, not ready to hear a dog cry for his life.

“I hate the dog anyways, we'll kill the dog and later on the neighbors, I'll tell y/n they moved out or something.” Jay sighed knowing Sunghoon wouldn't change his mind.

Sunghoon was very attentive to everything happening in his life, he still doesn't understand how he didn't suspect anything suspicious with his neighbors, once he's done with him he'll make sure this mistake won't happen again.

But maybe, it didn't only happen once, but twice… since both of the men sitting down in the office failed to notice the smirk on their friend's face as he watched sunghoon's face filled with anger trying to come up with a plan to get rid of Mr.kang.

Maybe Sunghoon wasn't as attentive as everyone says he is, since he neglected the fact that the person he trusts the most, is the person that he shouldn't have trusted at all.

Ik I said I'm gonna post chapter 2 in a week or two but I've changed some stuff and decided to make the chapter a bit longer since I don't want to write more than 7 or 8 chapters and I started exams recently so I'm not able to write much BUT IM REALLY TRYING TO SPEED IT UP AND FINISH CHAPTER 2 SO HOPEFULLY VERY SOON IM REALLY SORRY FOR THE DELAY IM TRYING 😭

Jay would totally let you cry your eyes out when you're sad, he would let you sit on his lap while your head is buried in his chest. He has one hand caressing your head while the other is around your waist.

He'll try to soothe you and tell you everything will be okay and he'll try to crack a small joke in between your crying just because he hates seeing you cry (if it was in an another situation he wouldn't mind 😏).

He'll say something like "it's okay baby, let it all out I'm right here, everything will be okay." And then he'll say "just tell me who made you cry I'll kick their ass." Trying to lighten up the mood.

And after you're done he'll order food and bring a lot of blankets and snacks, you'll stay like that the whole day binge watching your favourite series while cuddling in jay's arms.

I feel like heeseung would be the type to send you voice messages while he's at the gym doing his workout routine so that when he speaks he'll be gasping and grunting because of the weight lifting, and maybe even growling at some point. And he would do it because he knows it turns you on, he'll be asking you the most normal question but add between every word a small gasp and at the end of his sentence he would drop the weight and exhale, and when you suddenly go quiet he knows exactly what's going on in your head. HE WOULD BE SUCH A TEASE.

The light of the morning sun seeped through the kitchen windows, as the sound of eggs sizzling in the pan can be heard throughout the kitchen walls, once you turned off the stove and put the eggs and bacon in plates you were about to turn around with your wheelchair but was abruptly stopped when you felt a hand on your shoulder.

your head quickly turns around since you heard no noise of anyone being awake other than you. But your worries faded as soon as you saw the face of your husband, sunghoon, standing before you.

giving him a small smile sigh "you almost scared me to death.” he giggled at your reply giving you a kiss on your check “I'm sorry darling, didn't mean to.”

He helped you set up the breakfast on the table and you both sat down to eat, “so, what do you want to do today?” He started which made you look up from your plate, swallowing before replying “don't you have work today?”

“I can take some time off just for you.” he smirked as he took a bite of his breakfast, “really? Then maybe we can go to the beach! The weather seems lovely today.” He smiled at your enthusiasm.

“Anything for my pretty girl.” it's not that sunghoon doesn't take you out, in fact he tries to take you out every week but he's been very busy lately that you both have spent the whole week at home whenever he comes back from work.

You both went back to eating in silence, it wasn't awkward. It could never be awkward when you're with sunghoon.

When you were both done you were about to take the plates and put them in the sink but sunghoon beat you to that “I'll do the dishes, you should've woke me up to help you with breakfast too.”

“You looked so peaceful while sleeping I couldn't bring myself to wake you up.” You chuckled remembering how you were admiring how he looked while sleeping. “you're too nice, why can't you just leave these things for me, I hate making you do anything when I'm available.”

Sunghoon said while moving towards you, holding your chin up to make you look at him, as your eyes met his you almost felt like you were at a loss of words, his beauty was unbelievable.

And you can't believe it's all yours to admire, you sometimes wonder how you and sunghoon even ended up together. He could do so much better than someone who can't even walk on their legs, and with his looks you're sure he can get any woman out there.

Even though your husband made sure to always tell you how much your legs were beautiful it still was your biggest insecurity. Was he even content with the life he's living right now, stuck with someone who's a liability—

Before you could go on with the negative thoughts, you felt sunghoon's lips right on yours pulling you back into reality, you threw your arms around his neck pulling him closer to you as you lost yourself in his soft lips.

And before it can escalate into anything sunghoon pulled away slowly from you, the kiss wasn't long, it was short but sweet enough to make your heart feel like it stopped.

“What were you thinking about, pretty.” He said while his hand slid up to rub your cheeks “nothing..” you mumbled as you smiled softly at him

He started kissing your neck as his soft yet strong hands made their way to palm your breasts “nothing, really?” looking up at you as his hands palmed your breasts through your shirt “hoon..” you whispered as the touch surprised you, feeling the blood rush in your body.

“Come on, you're not gonna let me jerk off when you're right here, are you?” the option of strangling him right now didn't feel like such a bad idea right now “sunghoon! I said don't say stuff like that in the morning.”

You heard him laugh before he helped you with your shirt and then he made his way to the counter, turning on the kettle to make you chamomile tea as he started washing the dishes.

Once he was done with the dishes, you drank your tea and took all the medicines you needed for the day, sunghoon took you back to the room to get ready.

Once you got to the room, he stole a kiss before you felt his arms behind your back and knees, as he carried you to the bathroom.

You took a shower while he did whatever it was while waiting for you to finish, this has always been your morning routine. You got out of the shower while he got you some undergarments “what would you like to wear today?” he said while searching in your closet.

Once he found the dress he was looking for he turned back just to find you in your bra and panties already “how about this dress, it would look perfect on you.” It was a summer dress, it was blue in color and had tiny flowers scattered at the end. The dress reaches till your knees which seems perfect with the warm weather outside.

Sunghoon always had a good fashion sense and you never judged his taste in clothes. As he helped you put on the dress, he left you alone to go get ready as you started brushing your hair and putting on a bit of makeup.

Once you both were done he helped you get down the stairs through the stair climber, and you both made your way to the front door, ready to go to the car while sunghoon went back to get his car keys from the bedroom. You and sunghoon lived a bit far away from the city, there isn't a neighborhood around you other than the elderly couple and their dog which they live right on the other side of your house.

They're sweet when they want to be but they're also very rude, especially their German shepherd dog which you're very scared of as you once saw him chase a cat and in the end rip it in half.

you tried not getting near him but, The Kangs, your neighbors, seem to let him lose in the morning and maybe he likes hanging around your house because every morning he is there, almost like he's waiting for you to come out just to see the terrified look on your face.

You've tried talking to the kangs about it but it's only useless when you see him the next morning right outside, and that's exactly the same exact thing you're looking at right now. The German shepherd is right outside your door, staring at you with his blood shot eyes like he's trying to tell you to run before he rips you to pieces.

as you started going backwards using your wheelchair,you felt like screaming but you knew this would only make things worse. You kept going back until you felt your wheelchair bump into something, or more like someone. You looked behind you just to see your husband standing there, glaring at the dog.

He didn't waste a second before he took one of the many umbrellas next to the door, and started threatening the dog, as you saw the dog run away you finally let out the breath you didn't know you were holding. You felt sunghoon's hand engulf yours as he got down on his knees “are you okay, love? You're shaking.” You looked at your hands just to see your hands shaking a bit.

“Yeah I'm fine, you know how it goes with that dog around.” You said as you smiled at sunghoon to make him less worried, “you know I can always threaten the neighbors into getting rid of their dog, if they can't tame him then they might as well just get rid of him. He's been getting on my nerves lately.”

“thank you.. but no it's just a dog, I need to get over my fear of him anyways.”

“I'll make sure to talk to them again about keeping the dog away from our house.”

“Thank you hoon. Really, I appreciate it.”

He smiled at your reply as he began to make his way to the car, he helped you get in and then made his way to the driver seat, and you both set off to the beach.

You felt the sun caress your skin, it wasn't too hot but also not too cold, the weather was perfect for a walk especially with the sight of the beach around.

At the end of your walk sunghoon suddenly stops walking as you saw him roll the hem of his pants and take his socks off, once he looked at you, you tilted your head to the side looking confused but he only smiled at you before he lifted you up bridal style and started walking towards the water.

“hey! What are you doing!” he giggled at your confusion before he felt the water engulf his feet, he dipped you down, your hand reaching for the water, feeling the temperature of it. It was warm and calming against your hand.

You felt the wind breeze at both your figures as you smiled, watching the sun set, you felt relaxed.

“Wanna go back home now?” he asked, as you nodded. He started walking back while giving you small kisses on your face, moments like these made you feel like everything was okay, that there was nothing wrong. He made you feel special, like everyone in the world doesn't exist and it's only him and you.

“I'm so lucky to have you.” He would always make sure you know that you're the blessing in his life, not like it's the other way around. And you wished, hoped, and prayed that in every life, sunghoon would be there, with you.

But you should've known earlier, that all of this… was too good to be true.

sunghoon came out of the car while making his way into the private club, the lights of the club reflecting into him as he made his way to the VIP section, he kept walking until he stopped In front of a table with two guys occupying it.

“Did you finish what I asked you to do?”

“Yup and we left the body as it is, just like you asked.” Jay, sunghoon's workmate, said as he saw sunghoon smile a bit before taking a seat “He was very annoying though, I hate it when they scream and beg a lot.” Heeseung, sunghoon's other workmate, added with a roll in his eyes.

“He should've kept his eyes in check then, checking out my wife when I was right next to her and thinking he would get away with it.” He laughed before he continued “it won't be long before his body is found by the police, you didn't leave anything behind, right?” He relaxed into his seat as he took a sip from the drink that was ordered before he showed up.

“Don't worry, we've taken care of everything.” Heeseung said while taking the shot in front of him and chugging it down feeling it go down his throat finally letting loose.

Sunghoon didn't like lying to you, but there were some things that were better kept as a secret than you having to know, for example, his whole life. You didn't need to know that he worked under an organization, you only knew that he has a normal job, working for a normal company, as a normal office worker.

You didn't need to know that the food you're eating, the clothes you're wearing, the house bills, everything that's getting paid for is from money gotten from killing people as a job.

You just finished making dinner, washing the dishes you used as you waited for sunghoon to get back from work.

wiping your wet hands on the towel you suddenly felt someone's hands on your shoulders as you yelped and turned your head around just to see it was your husband.

You let out a sigh, feeling like you almost got a heart attack. Sunghoon was always slow footed when he got home, you smiled at him before you saw a bouquet of roses in front of you.

Your smile grows even more “thank you, you didn't have to.”

He was about to respond before you quickly pulled him closer to your lips, giving him a kiss to show your gratitude, and he reciprocated your eager kiss. But you pull back before it can turn into anything more, remembering that sunghoon must be hungry.

You both ate your dinner while sunghoon was telling you what he did through the day and you told him about your little activities while you were home alone before you decided to cook dinner.

When Jake was done with practice he went into the locker room to freshen up, but stopped as soon as he saw who was standing there. “What are you doing here Nayeon?” he declaimed “I came to see you, you looked so cool out there I couldn't just stay back” Nayeon said with a pout on her face as Jake's face scrunched up in disgust at her words.

Jake loves you. He loves you so much he never thought of cheating on you and he never will, but he also doesn't want to see you sad he knows you and nayeon have been best friends since you were in middle school so if he tells you how Nayeon is a liar, a fake friend, and how she keeps flirting with him, you'll probably be heart broken. And he has no problem comforting you if word ever comes out but he would rather die than be the reason for your and nayeon's friendship's downfall. He told Nayeon off many times but she only seems to get bolder everytime.

he stared at her for a while before he sighed “what do you not understand of ‘i'm not interested in cheating on y/n’? I do not like you and I never will, what makes you think I won't tell y/n about your acts” he heard her laugh “I'm her best friend did you forget? I can just tell her you're lying. Who do you think she'll believe? Her long time best friend that she knew since forever or some random guy she started dating not long ago? I think we both know the answer to that so unless you want to lose y/n forever you better think twice before saying anything.” And that was the second reason why Jake was hesitant in telling you about nayeon's deceiving actions, he trusts you of course but it hasn't been long since you both started dating, you're still building each others trust so he won't blame you if you believe Nayeon over him but he would rather not lose you.

He felt frustrated with everything, especially with himself, he knows he's not the one in the wrong but he still blames himself for this continuing, if he just had the courage to tell you about it he wouldn't have to deal with this situation almost every day. With his anger and frustration building up he was seconds away from taking it all out on Nayeon but he held himself back and tried calming himself down “get out.” he heard her snicker before she started walking out.

Once he was left all alone he finally let out the breath he didn't know he was holding, and suddenly remembered his promised date with you, he freshened up in a hurry and ran to the school entrance. When he arrived he saw you there with your back turned towards him with no sign of nayeon “hey babe!” Jake said with a kiss on your cheek “hii! you looked so cool I couldn't wait for you to finish” even tho it's been 4 months since Jake made you his you never failed to make him feel flustered and feel butterflies in his stomach just like when he used to and still have a crush on you but it's not like he's complaining about it, he chuckled before he replied “so are you ready for our date?” he pulled you to his car feeling excited to finally spend some time with you alone “yes! Where are you taking me?”

“It's a secret” he laughed.

- 2 weeks later -

Your school's basketball team has just won the year's tournament which means the basketball captain, Heeseung, will be throwing a big party to celebrate their win, which also means nayeon trying to force you to go. It's not like you hate parties. You went to a lot of parties when you and Jake started dating in your first month but they're not really your vibes. “please, please, please just this once go with me” you heard nayeon whine and beg over and over “you know it's not really my type of thing, and I don't even have a dress ready and the party is tonight” you saw nayeon's eyes light up already dreading what she's about to say knowing you don't have any more excuses “I have the perfect dress for you to wear!” You sighed and huffed “okay fine.” nayeon hugged you and started rambling about how you're the best.

as you and nayeon arrived to the party, you tried searching for jake since he's apart of the basketball team of course he'll be here and that's when you both made eye contact and saw him make his way to you but before you can say anything to him nayeon cut you off “hi Jake! congrats on your win” she hugged him and you felt a bit off about her action.

this is normal right? they're friends… and friends hug it's totally normal.. right?

maybe if these rumors that have been going on for quite some time about your boyfriend and best friend you wouldn't have these thoughts, and you felt bad to think they'll do this to you they're your closest people they wouldn't hurt you… right?

your thoughts went into a halt as you saw Jake was talking to you, you smiled and congratulated him about his win and gave him a peck on the lips before Jake smiled and said “I'll go get us drinks okay?” you nodded before your best friend said she'll need to use the bathroom, so here you are now alone in the middle of the party waiting for them to come back before one of your friends, Yunjin, comes up to you and greets you.

as you were both talking you felt your boyfriend and best friend take a lot of time to come back even though you wanted to trust them that they won't ever hurt you in any kind of way, you couldn't help but go check up on them, with the thought of them being alone in a room. Just like how you heard the rumor, you told Yunjin to wait a bit before you left her to go to the drink aisle to try and find your boyfriend.

as you got there you saw a group of people gathering around something, even tho you wanted to keep searching curiosity got the best of you and you decided to make your way through the crowd while pushing around the crowd you kept hearing stuff like “I told you they were together” or “omg you saw them kiss right? So the rumors are true after all” when you finally made it your eyes widened at the scene In front of you.

your best friend, nayeon, on the ground and your boyfriend, Jake, standing right at her feet looking like he's about to hit her. You made eye contact with nayeon and you saw her smirk before she got up and got a hold of Jake's collar and smashed his lips against hers, you felt your heart slowly break, it's like you could hear it break into tiny, tiny pieces. What hurts is that they're the two people you trust the most but what hurts more is the fact you saw the sign but stayed in denial because you didn't think your favorite people would betray you just like that.

When Jake pushed away from nayeon he was about to walk away from her but he stopped in his tracks when he saw you standing in front of him, though the crowds voice is very loud Jake felt like he couldn't hear anything right now, he wanted to do a lot of things all in the span of one minute. He wanted to make nayeon pay for this, he wanted to pull you into him, he wanted to apologise for this big BIG misunderstanding, he wanted to yell at himself for not seeing this coming, but he couldn't do any of this when he couldn't feel his legs anymore.

you felt your eyes tear up, pools of water felt like they're about to burst out of your eyes any second now the longer you stared at Jake, you quickly turned around ready to bolt out of here, to get back into the comfort of your apartment and just let go of this overwhelming feeling, but it all stopped when Jake grabbed your wrist and turned you around.

“y/n it isn't what it looks like, please—” you cut him off not ready to listen to anything right now, your brain feeling like it could shut down from everything “i saw it with my own eyes, don't you dare lie to me” you yelled “no, it's a misunderstanding, just let me take you home and explain please.” you couldn't hold back your tears anymore and just let everything out you wanted to scream, shout, yell, cry, and cry, and just cry till you couldn't anymore you kept hoping that this is all just a big nightmare and none of it is true.

you were about to respond to Jake when suddenly you heard the last voice you wanted to hear right now “jakey! baby why did you leave so suddenly, come on let's go home, you said you'll sleep over tonight.” nayeon said while looking at you smirking.

nayeon didn't want to do this to you. But you made her do it, she loved Jake first, she was supposed to be the one in your place, everytime you and Jake hung out with her she felt like she could tear you to pieces, you stole Jake from her. So she's gonna steal him back, while making you feel just like how she felt even if it meant losing you, at least she'll get back what was supposed to be hers from the start.

“Would you fuck off nayeon, you've already did enough can you stop with your fucking lies.” Jake yelled but you couldn't even listen to them when all you wanted was to leave, so when they were both arguing you took the chance to get out of the party before you felt like collapsing from the lack of oxygen, you took an uber and went straight to your apartment not able to deal with anything right now.

As you made your way home, you felt your legs giving up on you once you got in, now that you're in your home with all the lights turned off, your makeup ruined from all the crying you did from heeseung's house to your apartment, and the tears still spilling you started thinking of everything. How you should've listened to the rumors, you should've seen it all coming…but why though.

Were you not enough for Jake, did you do something to upset nayeon, maybe the only reason Jake dated you was because he wanted to get closer to nayeon and now that they're alone at the party they were probably laughing at your stupidity. “fuck.. why am I such an idiot.” was the last thing you said before you stopped overthinking, you didn't have the energy to get to your bed so you found yourself making your way to the couch and closed your eyes.

It's been one week since you've gone to school, you went back to your parents house to take a small break from everything that happened and since you knew you don't have the heart to confront Jake or nayeon so you took your time and thought of everything at your parents house.

Jake couldn't take this anymore, he needed to fix this, asap. He tried so many things, he tried going to your apartment knocking on your door day and night hoping you'll open up and listen to him but you didn't even open the door or showed any signs that you're at home, he tried texting you, calling you, emailing you, but all of it was in vain, he even waited In front of your classes but all he heard from your classmates is that you didn't come today.

As he was making his way to the school entrance Jake just wanted to get back home, he wanted the day to end even though it just already started. He knows if he shared his thoughts with anyone right now they would call him dramatic and that he should just move on, but how can he move on when you have his heart, his soul, and his mind, he can't go on with his day without thinking about you.

When he was about to walk in front of your locker he stopped immediately when he saw you standing right there, he thought his eyes were deceiving him, and maybe it's all just a dream, or maybe he finally went crazy and he's hallucinating, but when he tried hitting himself you were still standing there taking out your books looking very beautiful while doing so— he stopped abruptly when he just realized you're finally In front of him he can finally talk to you and get everything back to normal.

He didn't waste any second as he bolted to your locker scared that if he wasted any more time you'll vanish, “y/n? It's really you, you look beautiful as ever.” He blushed when he noticed he said that out loud not being able to focus on anything right now other than you.

You wanted to laugh, Jake has always been like this. he would always say the most random things and you loved that about him but you held yourself back when you remembered what you went through last week and it was all because of him and nayeon, you wanted to ignore him that was your plan from the start to tell him to leave you alone and never see his face again.

But your mind felt blank, forgetting everything you wanted to say when you looked at him. The effect Jake has on you will never be explainable; he can just make you weak in the knees by doing nothing. But you tried focusing again, not letting him take over your brain “Jake.. we need to talk.” You managed to say without stuttering over your words, “yes, right we need to talk” he was about to hold your hand to take you to the storage room nearby but you were much faster than him as you walked away.

He followed behind you getting ready for things to get back to normal, to get you back in his arms, where you belong. You were about to speak but he cut you off “look… what ever you saw at the party it was all a misunderstanding I promise, please I was going to tell you about nayeon but I didn't have it in me to ruin your friendship, I know she means alot to you so I let her do what she wanted I thought she'll stop when she realizes i don't like her in that way, I didn't think she'll do something like that, I'm really sorry I felt nervous and scared that if I told you, you'll think I'm trying to ruin your friendship with nayeon and you'll believe her over me, I didn't want to lose you, I'm really sorry.”

By now Jake was full on crying, his movements were slow as he was breathing fitfully, you couldn't process the new information that was given to you “ruin our friendship? Jake, you know I'm not like that if you just talked to me about it we could figure something out together… I didn't know you were going through all of that alone.” You felt confused, sad, frustrated, but especially mad. You were mad at yourself, if you took actions before maybe this wouldn't have turned out this way.

Jake felt better, he finally got out everything he wanted to say since the start of your relationship, he took your fingers in his hands, hesitant, trying to comfort you even tho he looks like he needs more comforting than you do right now, you laughed at his antics and walked closer to him holding his hand fully, you looked up at him looking at his puppy eyes “if you really are saying the truth… maybe, we can start again. I tried moving on from you but it seems much harder than I thought when my mind is occupied with you 24/7” he giggled at your confession feeling giddy “I guess we both have something in common.”

he hooked his arms around your waist, pulling you even closer you felt goosebumps all over your body with every touch you glanced at his lips, you leaned closer until you felt his soft, tender lips against yours. It felt familiar and gentle, you missed this.. you missed him your body felt like it could give up on you any second now, you felt Jake's hand ride up in your shirt as he kept pulling you closer, you gently tug at his collar to pull away for air when you suddenly heard him say “do you want me to stop?” you quickly shook your head and said “not really.. maybe the opposite, please.” he smiled at your response before pulling you back into the kiss.

it was almost the end of the school day when you pumped into nayeon, the minute she saw you she just kept laughing at you calling you pathetic which made the feeling of wanting to hit her more and more appealing, you glanced at her seeing her smirk reminding you of the day of the party

“why..?” She scoffed at your question and laughed “why? Are you for real? What don't you understand? Jake is mine, he should've been mine but you stole him from me so I'm taking back what you stole.” Oh, so that's what this is about “yours? If Jake was yours he would've chosen you, but he didn't. Kinda sad don't you think” you chuckled, nayeon was raging by now “you little bitch— I don't care, shut up” nayeon looked at you in disbelief.

“I should have seen it coming, but I didn't think we would argue over a boy.. at least tell me our friendship was real.” Nayeon laughed again, gritting her teeth “you’re so pathetic, if you want the truth no. None of it was real. I just befriended you because you looked lonely, I felt bad for you.” you felt a lump in your throat and your eyes tearing up but you held it all back not wanting to show a sign of weakness right now, you're done with this conversation “hah you're finally showing your true colors and they're an uglier shade than I wanted to believe, don't talk to me again, ever.”

You turned around and started walking away you heard nayeon scream your name but you just ignored her and went on, you're done with this chapter of life and you'll start a new chapter with Jake with nothing to come in your way, even if any obstacle comes in your and Jake's way you know you'll both figure out a way to get through it.

It's been 2 weeks, and Jake felt like smashing his head into the nearest wall, and his phone too. With the amount of times he has heard the same robotic voice coming from his phone over and over again he feels like he's going crazy.

Jake threw his phone to the bed as he watched it bounce before settling on his pillow, he totally was going crazy. he knows he fucked up and he wanted nothing more than to apologise to you, he knows you didn't deserve what he did to you but he can't let you know that he is really sorry when he can't even get to talk to you because you probably blocked him on all of your social media since he couldn't reach any of them, and with your overprotective best friend he couldn't even get to see you at all, and that was driving Jake mad.

He took out the bottle of alcohol he had hidden in his bedroom, and didn't even get a glass before he had already drunk half of the bottle. He had nothing on his mind other than you, Jake did a lot of stupid things like the bet that involved you which he totally regrets, and right now his thoughts of showing up to your house is the stupidest thought he's ever thought of, and in his drunken state of course he's going to do just that.

you were laying on the couch trying to find an interesting movie to watch to get your mind off Jake. It's been 2 weeks but you couldn't stop thinking about him, maybe the fact that you've been just a stupid bet all this time have been hurting you so much but there's also the fact that the time you've spent with Jake has been the happiest you've ever been, you don't regret dating him.

your thoughts got cut off when the doorbell rang and a sudden loud banging on the door made you flinch and get up from the couch, wiping your tears while making your way to the door. You weren't expecting anyone, your parents are on a vacation and Yunjin is spending the night at her boyfriend's house, your mind was racing at the thought of who can be behind the door.

as you opened the door slowly, your heart dropped at the person behind the door, you felt your tears coming back, you wanted to scream, shout, yell. But you held it all back when you looked at the familiar tired eyes staring right back at you “Y/N…” as soon as you heard him talk you felt yourself come back to reality, your brows furrowed and tried slamming the door in his face but Jake was much faster and slipped inside before it can close. “What are you doing here!! get out before I start screaming.”

“woah! we don't have to go that far, just listen to me please give me a chance to explain myself..” you can see the tears forming in his eyes threatening to fall, you knew if you didn't look away now you'll cave in to his pleads and you were going to until you smelled the alcohol reeking of him, “Jake.. are you drunk?” you said, your full body is on guard now having your ex boyfriend forcing himself into your house drunk wanting to explain himself isn't an everyday thing.

“no? I mean yes but please I just want to apologise. I can't do this anymore. I can't keep going on with my day like this.” Jake stated as he went forward all he wanted to do right now was hug you and cry in your arms, he wanted everything to go back to normal he can get on his knees right now and beg for your forgiveness, he'll do anything if it means you'll forgive him. he wanted to kiss you and tell you how sorry he is over and over again, but the hurt look in your eyes, keeps reminding him of how badly he fucked up and he wasn't leaving today until he made everything right.

“apologise about what? about the fact you've hurt me? lied to me? faked your love for some stupid bet? you've already done enough Jake what more do you want from me.”

“I know this is so messed up, I won't lie to you. I know it was all just a bet but I fell in love with you. I was gonna tell you sooner but I couldn't bring myself to do it and it's such a low move from me but I was scared of this happening. scared of you leaving me. please I'll make it up to you, I promise I'll do anything. Anything, just don't ignore me anymore. I'll apologise a hundred times if it means you give me one more chance to show you how much I love you and how much I'm really sorry.”

By now Jake was crying. “I'm sorry.” He mumbled again, but as you looked down to process everything he just said, Jake could no longer fight the temptation to pull you into his chest. When you didn't pull back, which surprised him, he pulled you in tighter and started combing his fingers in your hair. He immediately stopped when he heard you sniffing and looked at you just to see you crying.

He pulled you in again resting your head on his chest while his head is resting on your head trying to calm each other down. “I promise you I'll make it up to you even if it takes you years to forgive me, I'll never give up on you, on us.” you finally looked up at him chuckling at his words “you're an idiot Jake sim, I shouldn't forgive you this quickly but you're too cute not to.” Jake felt like he could die at any moment right now, hearing you say you forgive him made him feel like he's done the impossible.

“Wait you're for real? omg please tell me you're not joking, do you really forgive me?” you laughed at his shocked face, holding his face in your hands “I do. But don't think it'll be this easy, you'll have to work to gain my love again.”

“I'll do anything.”

you hug him again as none of you talk relishing the silence in eachothers arms. “I know you want to ask something, what is it?” you stated the obvious as you felt him flinch, he hesitated a but before he asked “can I kiss you?” you grinned at his question and you pulled his head closer to yours “you don't have to ask silly.” As soon as these words left your mouth his lips smashed against yours, you smiled through the kiss yearning for more of him. But right now you couldn't ask for more, and you can't help but think that maybe meeting Jake wasn't so bad after all.

"You taste like soju, how much did you drink?"

"shut up" he mumbled as you laughed.

you don't know where it went wrong. or maybe you did but you wanted to stay in denial that what's between you and Jake isn't really over, you stared at your phone screen rereading the text your best friend, Yunjin sent you.

“hey, y/n. I wanted to tell you this before, well not me, more like Jake should've told you but apparently he just wants to keep playing with you. I've overheard him and his friends talking last week about you being just a bet, I didn't want to be the one to tell you this but Jake was too scared to tell you so I did. I love you so much and I don't want to see them play around with you like some kind of object I'm coming over, you're not alone I'll be there with you.”

as you finished reading it you received another call from “jakey 💌'' and you broke down again into tears ignoring his call for the 18th time this morning, you pack your stuff from his apartment, remove the promise ring he gave you as a gift from your hand leaving it on the coffee table in the living room and putting on your shoes getting ready to leave with your eyes full of tears, you hear your phone ring again completely ignoring it, looking around the apartment that you and jake had many cute moments in only for them to turn out a lie just for some bet he had going on with his friends. you take a deep breath and step out of the apartment going out of the building and into your car, closing the chapter that you and Jake once had hoping to never see him again.

Jake never meant for it to turn out like this, he won't lie it did start out as a bet but he didn't expect himself to fall in love with you, he was gonna tell you soon but he knew it won't turn out good so he wanted to relish the time he has with you being in his arms but it all went down when he received a call from yunjin telling him that you know now. he didn't even wait a second before he bolted out of his friends house running to his apartment while trying to call you, he felt his heart break everytime you ignored his calls and messages, he knows he fucked up, he knows it'll take alot for him to get you back but right now all he wants is to know that you're still there for him.

once he gets to his apartment and opens the door just too see his old plain looking apartment with none of your stuff there, oh he really fucked up. he tried calling you again just for it to be in vain, so he called your best friend only to hear her say “never come near y/n again or it won't be pretty for you, you've hurt her enough just leave her alone.” he didn't get to say anything before yunjin hung up, Jake felt his world breaking down he can't do this alone, you were everything he ever wanted, needed. And he just can't let you go, but it seems like life really hates him as he sits down on the floor and just cries his eyes out for the rest of the night.

Maybe in another life you both won't have to suffer like this and just live a normal life together. just like how Jake always wanted.
