Two Weeks of Whump Day 2: Needles
Fandom: Across the Spider-verse
Summary: Miguel is scared of needles after he gets sober.
Rapture was a highly addictive drug that binds to your cells. Miguel remembered it well. After being drugged by someone who turned out to be his biological father he needed it. He remembered hunting it down and sticking himself with long needles so he wouldn't be in pain for the withdrawal.
When he became Spider-Man the spider DNA replaced the rapture and he was safe. But he wasn't safe from the memories. The feeling of being so helpless, to succumb to the need for the drug.
When Miguel was told that he would need to get a few shots he was nervous to go. Peter insisted he come with him. Knowing Miguel's history with addiction he knew he'd be spooked.
Despite Miguel consistently telling Peter he didn't need anyone to go with him to see Spidey Doc he still came. Even if hr wouldn't admit it he actually appreciated Peter looking out for him.
"Hey Miguel, how are you today?" Spidey Doc said as he walked in. "Oh, you got a friend with you?"
"Nope, I'm actually his nemesis" Peter joked. The two laughed and Miguel snarled. "But seriously, Miggy gets nervous about needles."
"Peter" Miguel scowled.
"Hey don't worry! I'll be quick" he looked at Miguel, "and don't be embarrassed." He grabbed one of the three needles he had prepared, "shoulder please."
Miguel moved his sleeve and looked over to Peter. His facial expression was soft. "Here" Peter held out his hand. He reluctantly took it.
As the needle pierced his skin memories flood his mind. The feeling of not having control, sobbing telling his brother what had happened, staying with Alchemax to find a way to get rid of it, taking the doses so that withdrawal didn't kill him, everything.
Miguel grabbed at the syringe and pulled it out of his arm. He moved to attack Spidey Doc but Peter stepped in. He placed his hands on Miggy's shoulders and looked him in the eyes.
Miguel wrapped his arms around Peter and dug his claws into his back.
"It's okay. Miggy it's okay" he soothed. "Look at me, hey look" he removed one of his hands to gently cuff his face, "I'm not gonna let him hurt you."
Looking Peter in the eyes Miguel calmed down a little. He realized what happened and let the other pull him into a hug. Without realizing he started to cry mumbling how he couldn't do it again.
"It's okay Migs." Peter ran his hand over his back. Once Miguel calmed down he released him and retracted his claws.
"I didn't hurt you did I?" He asked.
"Nope! I'm alright. Let's finish getting your shots." Peter walked in a way to make sure he didn't see his back.
Spidey Doc moved from the floor back to standing, dazed. "Peter I thought-"
"Bup bup bup, let's get this done, okay?"
"Alright." The Doc got what Peter was avoiding. Telling Miguel might be worse than letting him believe everything was okay.
Spidey Doc placed a bandage on Miguel's arm from where he pulled the needle out. "Can I borrow your other arm? I'll give it back don't worry."
Miguel silently extended his arm to the doc. Peter grabbed the other and looked him in the eyes. His were soft and Miguel's were scared. "I promise, you'll be okay."
The second needle went into Miguel's arm. The fear intensified but Peter calmed him down, "I'm right here. You're safe. Okay?" Then the third.
"Alright! You are done! You can go."
"Thank you." He walked towards the door, "Peter?"
"Oh, I had an appointment right after you so I'm gonna do that now. Mayday's with Jess if you want to hang out with her! Maybe she'll help you feel better."
"Alright." He wasn't so sure but decided not to question it. It was strange that he hadn't mentioned the appointment before.
As the door closed Peter leaned into the table. "Ah, that kinda hurts."
"Makes sense." Spidey Doc walked over to a cabinet and grabbed stitches. "Miguel could have handled it."
"He's fragile. I worry a lot about him. I know he could handle it but honestly he doesn't need it."
Spidey Doc just sighed and shook his head. He had Peter lay down and sowed his back up. Peter left and never told Miguel what happened that day.

So my school did the musical 'All Shook Up' and I played Dean Hyde and I just have a few thoughts I wanted to share for the very small All Shook Up fandom. (Also both shows went well)
With Dean's line of "My father was a war hero, died before I was born. She wants to grow up to be just like him." What if he thought it would take dying in a war for his mother to be proud of him.
Our actor for Matilda looked back at me and smiled during the wedding scene when Jim said "nothing to worry about sweetheart." She did that because she wanted it to seem like Matilda had done that because she had wished she'd done that for Dean. (Except him)
Natalie was definitely a form of Trans. I think genderfluid.
It was the 50's when this all happens so more than likely Dean, Chad, Jim, and Eirl would have been drafted Dennis would have been a dentist so he would have been okay.
Continuing that thought, Dean would have gone back to the thing he hated. Hopefully he wouldn't follow in his father's footsteps.
That's all for now. If I think of more I'll add them.
Whumpril Day 29: "Final Warning."
Fandom: Star Wars Prequels/Clone Wars
Summary: Instead of how Palpatine goes about turning Anakin he tries something else.
Anakin was terrified. He knew something was wrong. The chancler called him to his office; which had happened many times before, but this time was different. It felt different.
He hesitated to open the door. Then he did. Inside Padme sat, on her knees, in the middle of the room. Her hands behind her and a gag over her mouth. "Don't move any closer" warned Palpatine.
Anakin took in the sight before him. "What's going on?" he asked frightened.
"You are going to make a choice, Anakin Skywalker. Save your wife and join me or let her die." The sith sent chills down the jedi's spine.
'This has to be a dream right'? Anakin thought to himself. He pinched himself, confirming it was no dream; this was real. The sith had been right there the whole time, they were just to blind to see it.
"Make your choice."
The general looked between Padme and Sidious. He couldn't let Padme die but he had a chance to end everything here. He wanted to be a Jedi for this, to accept that in the end the right choice was to tell the council and end the sith that was Darth Sidious.
"Final warning."
Anakin's heart sank. He couldn't let her die. If he had more time he could find a way out of this. He walked over to the sith, "what ever you say, master." He struggled to let the last word leave his mouth. His master was Obi-wan. That was his teacher; his brother, not Sidious.
Padme feared he would choose her between the jedi. But he wasn't just choosing to betray the Jedi. He betrayed the Jedi, the clones, the people, himself, and her.
Anakin rose from his kneeling position shakily. He ran over to Padme and took the gag out of her mouth, untied it, and threw it to the ground. "Are you alright?" His hands gently cuffed her face.
"I'm okay. Anakin you can't do this."
"I have to."
Whumpril Day 28: "Let Me Know if You Need Anything." (Alt prompt 13)
Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch
Warnings: mentioned character death
Summary: After Tech's death Echo is trying to help the others how he can.
Death is hard to handle, especially when it's the first time you've lost someone. Echo knew it was going to be difficult getting the batch through Tech's death. They had grown up together. He remembers the pain he felt when he lost Cutup, Droidbait, and Hevy so he knows how they feel. Not only that but he's grieving as well.
Wrecker sat alone in his bunk and Hunter sat in the cockpit of the Marauder. Echo walked to talk to Hunter then to Wrecker to check on them.
"Hey Wreck" Echo started.
"Hey Echo" Wrecker spoke softly.
"How are you doing?"
"Fine." Wrecker made it hard to find a way to comfort him. He wouldn't talk about it. He wouldn't really do anything.
Unsure of what to do Echo slightly turned around, getting ready to leave the room. "Let me know if you need anything."
"I need Tech back."
Echo stopped. "I know. But we can't get him back Wrecker, that's not how death works unfortunately." He walked back inside the room and took a set next to his brother.
"I know that Echo."
"I know you know.".
"I need Omega and Cross back to; I need Hunter to calm down and breathe; I need to be able to help you all; I need to not feel this way."
'Well that's a lot to unpack' Echo thought. "We can get Omega and Crosshair back-"
"What if they're dead?" Wrecker interrupted.
"We wouldn't know until we find them."
"Hunter isn't going to calm down until we find them. What if they're gone? He'll never be okay."
"Well Omega's Hunter kid. I know she's our sister but that's his little girl. He'll be okay. If they are gone he'll learn to cope. It'll be okay. And Wrecker, you're helping in small ways but still helping. You need to take care of yourself too."
"Am I always gonna feel like this?"
'he went down the whole list.' Echo was glad it went that way, easier to sort out. "No, not always."
"Will I ever go back to normal?"
"No. There will always be something missing Wrecker. But you will learn to keep growing. You'll be okay."
"Okay."
"Do you need anything?" Echo looked over at Wrecker.
"Maybe a glass of water."
Two Weeks of Whump Day 4: Cage
Fandom: Across the Spider-verse
Summary: What happens when Hobie, Miles's only ally gets forced back to his own universe before he can remind Miles of his strength?
Miles watched everyone slowly walk away, leaving him stuck in the red eltric cage he'd been trapped in. The strangers left first then Peni. After that Peter and Gwen.
He wondered what Hobie was going to tell him before Jessica had to fight him. She dragged him back to what Miles could only guess was his universe, returning with his watch in hand.
It became apparent to Miles that his only ally was gone. He was on his own. Sinking to the ground he began to shake. This couldn't be it, he had to get back. His father was counting on him. He needed to make up for everything he'd done; for killing Peter Parker, for all the stress he put on his parents, for the people he couldn't save, for existing.
Trying to break the shield seemed impossible. Saving his father seemed impossible. Staying on the floor Miles began to lose control of his breathing. He pulled his hands up to his chest; his knees under him.
Time passes as Miles's condition gets worse. He felt suffocated and helpless. Like no one should help him, like he was selfish for wanting to save his father. Instead he would fail both Uncle Aaron and him. Their tombstones would be next to each other; a hero buried next to a villain; brothers buried together.
Slowly Miles ran out of tears. The salty water stained his face. He could breathe normally now and could think clearer. It was time to get out of this cage.
The solution hit him like that bus hit Doc Octavia. Miles placed his fingertips against the red cage. He activated his venom and the electromagnet shield started to falter. When it didn't work he thought about what Hobie had said earlier, "lead with the palms not just your fingers."
Pressing his whole hand against the shield broke it quickly. He finally stood up and jumped a few times to get blood flow in his legs. Now he just needed to find a way out of this hell.
There were the watches but Miles didn't think he could manage to get a hold of one. There was also the gizmo that took anomalies home. That would just have to do.
