Every single Captain and their first mate in one piece, Even the evil ones too. it’s actually kind of concerning.

The only possible exceptions to this I can think of are Blackbeard and Shiryu of the rain. And who ever was the first mate of the Rocks Crew. Both crews that were just a slapdash of strong people. Their captains are essentially Pokémon catchers that value nothing but strength and destruction.

My favorite Captain and First mates tho are;

- Luffy & Zoro

- Shanks & Beckman

- Roger & Rayleigh

- Law & Bepo

And honorable mention to a non captain and first mate duo that still give the same vibes

- Sengoku & Garp.

But yeah just the never ending devotion of a loner and the extrovert they swore to follow to the ends of the world for the rest of their lives and probably after

@giurochedadomani no yeah Shanks definetly has his own abandonment issues he hasn’t worked out yet and will kind of subconsciously push those on to Mihawk who isn’t quite experiencing the same emotions Shanks is feeling.

Because I like to cause Mihawk emotional strife. I think it’d be fun if he had like a relative or a master, I don’t know just someone older and wiser who was a trusted adult to him, but who abandoned him and he convinces himself that they must have died right? because they wouldn’t just leave him, right?

But it turns out that’s exactly what they did and he knows this because they show back up in his life when he’s a grown man and the greatest swordsman in the world, and expect to just fit seamlessly back into his life. With the only reason given being that they knew it would make him stronger and it must have worked because look how strong he is! He’s Literally the greatest!

And Mihawk is taking 10/10 emotional damage. So much damage that he’s actually emoting and conveying facial expressions outside of smirks and displeased frowns. He is geniunly devastated that his mentor hadn’t just died like any respectable mentor should and is now expecting him to have feelings about it. 😒

He spends the first couple of days deluding himself and treating the mentor like a ghost come to haunt him for his sins. But Mihawk doesn’t do regret so that falls away pretty quickly. Not before he tries to have them exorcised though.

Michael and Adam.

You get the themes the poem is right there. Michael was the first being ever made by an imperfect god. He in himself is practically a big bang how do you begin to explain that to someone? Let alone the one other person you’re stuck in a lifetime of isolation with?

This is their inherited will, this is the string that ties them together across generations. bound by shared love and ideology, it’s as real as the hat that sits on all their heads.

Shanks. Roger and Luffy lifetimes apart but under the same sky, smiling out at the same ocean, in search of the next adventure. Free as can be.

The love of a ship, the freedom of the ocean, the world as an enemy . Something tells me Jack, sorry Captain Jack, and Luffy would have been really good friends.
