Death crawls through the midnight blue washed streets of the Jinzhou, its flaky claws seeking and scratching. And seek out their victim it did. Found in a cozy bed that reeked of illness and herbal medicine. Ashes of incense laid on top of a long wooden tray fashioned in the looks of a dragon.

There were more dragon motifs sprawled around, in the embroidery of the blankets, on the painting, on tea cups and jewelry, but not one of those could protect the one confined within the bed and the one forever gone. Pale skin glistened with the remnants of sweat and water they were bathed in, and their hair smelled of old flowers in summer heat, and it was only going to get worse should they remain here, hand held by the person closest to them.

Jiyan. The General. The Qingloong. The medic in his youth. Their brother.

He had returned from the front lines at long last for a short reprieve, only to find his beloved sibling in a worse state than last time. It horrified him even more than the sights he encountered in war, and it shook him to the core. What’s worse, he could smell death waiting at the front door, and entering behind his heel after he went into the bedroom..

His hands gingerly held onto their cold hand, knuckles pressed against his forehead as he remains quiet, foolishly hoping warmth would spring to their skin and they’d greet him with a ruffle to his hair and call him silly for worrying so much. He swallows thickly, cheeks wet from the trail his tears left behind and he breathes out a breath so heavy, one would question how the world didn’t cave in where he sat. 

“I love you…so much..” he whispers before lifting his head up, eyes fluttering shut to spare himself the sight of their forever slumbering face, his lips lingering on their knuckles in expression of love they’d never feel again.

They didn’t share just blood, they shared their childhood years, interests, and they shared their mother’s womb together. Their bond was one closer than any other, yet it was severed all the same as any other. 

“I miss you…”

Even with all the knowledge Jiyan could’ve plucked from Jinzhou and from the outside nations, all various medical practices and all kinds of healers, Jiyan couldn’t save them.

Maybe in another life he saves them, but in this one he gets to carry their memories until his own demise, forever haunted by their absence.

Not only does Jiyan have war trauma now he has extra cadet trauma from his own comrade lmaoo. He has lots of respect for her though I can feel it from miles away. He's already always thinking back to old days, and although getting beaten up wasn't comfortable, he can laugh about it now ahheshe

Annd oohhh, I hope Reyna and Jien never get into an argument. I feel like it would irritate Reyna a lot how Jien can be so stubborn/persistent but flattoned with it. Especially if she knows she's more in the right - she does give in if she finds she's wrong though. But the other person can be fuming while arguing and she'd be poker faced and all.

Reyna and Lingyang. 😔 I'll tear up. Lingyang would be so interested in whatever stories these two have to share, and broo imagine him doing dances for them in particular to wish them good luck before some big event 😭 ohh sweet boy. I feel like Lingyang and Jien would also "compare tails" lmao, Jien would gift him a feather off her tail. I think he'd find them also comforting, since they have these animal features. Not exactly like his own but still!

And since Reyna lost her brother, I can't imagine how she'd feel if Lingyang was threatened in some way.

Okay so, me personally, I can definitely see their relationship starting off a bit rocky or just them side eyeing eachother so bad, they're judging eachother in their minds but I also think they can definitely bond a bit more as time goes on and they realize they're not any sort of enemies to one another hswiid

Jien is hella chill, she doesn't have the capacity for hate even if she's quite judgy - she never lets certain opinions get the better of her and she likes to remain neutral with people unLESS those opinions from before have a foundation to them. Ngl, Jien would be be quite curious of Reyna, and despite their relationship starting off rocky, that would only make Jien want to interact with Reyna more 😭 oh bro what if they were put up to work together👀 for something, idk-

Also Reyna better buckle up if Jien catches word of her and Jinshi. Just imagining them exchanging side eyes and one of them is trying not to cackle is making me cackle.

A/N: thank you for the request! I hope you enjoy these. It's my first time writing Calcharo so I hope I did him justice

Contents: Jiyan x Reader. Mortefi x Reader, Calcharo x Reader, all separate, gn s/o, fluff, a bit of crack ngl

Jiyan:

-Keen eyes is one of Jiyan’s best characteristics, and when it comes to you that trait of his gets amplified tenfold. He knows you more and more, day by day, and he keeps little mental notes of your person

-Just a person, and even more so as a medic at heart, Jiyan is able to notice your anxious behavior from a long mile away, and he does do his best to ease you in situations where he can

-He would never leave you alone if the situation is something you can’t handle, or if you’re simply feeling unwell - unless you voice it that you want to be alone

-Patience of a saint and the gentleness of a flower. It’s one of his best virtues, being able to lead an army like a general but remain soft and giving, not allowing his heart to turn to stone

-He does have the tendency to reach for your hand if he sees you really nervous or fidgeting. Sometimes he’d take your hand in both of his and massage your knuckles and fingers with one hand, all while asking if you’re alright and if there’s anything you’d like him to do

-When he’s on the front lines and comes across any medicinal herbs that could help you, he send them to you with a little heartfelt note on how to best prepare it, make it into tea or even possibly incense 

-Always there to listen to you if you have anything to let off your chest

-If it makes it easier, he also talks for you in situations where you may be overly exhausted or simply don’t have the strength to talk to the other person. He never oversteps this though, he doesn’t say something you may not agree to

-Lots of people know you because they see you two so close together all the time, and due to that you have their respect. Some may even fear to land a finger on you since they’d rather not have the General hounding them down

-Jiyan may also have his mother check in on you when he’s away on the battlefield and when he can’t be there for you

Mortefi:

-Yapper one thousand deluxe and the enemy of anxiety if you ask me

-Not that he doesn’t know what or how it feels like, he had his moments too, but he has grown into the man that he is today. Anxiety fears HIM.

-He is a bit dense, so he may come off as if he’s trying to scold you when he catches you holding back on saying something, especially if it’s directed at him

-He encourages you to just talk, spill it out, he will not scold you for voicing your thoughts and in many situations he even looks forward to what you have to say

-He doesn’t mind quiet. If he sees some silence will do you good he will just shut it, occasionally flicking his lighter - the sound is just so satisfying and calming in times like this

-Mortefi isn’t too big on PDA, but on occasion he will place his hand on your shoulder or back to guide you through a crowd of perhaps down the hall. It’s a small little reminder that he has your back

-Doesn’t tolerate anyone that may have something unsavory to say about your shyness or anxiety. He is blunt and sharp, and says exactly how disappointed he is in the person that says so. And what could hurt more than being called an idiot by THE Mortefi in the most eloquent way that it leaves you questioning if it was flattery or well disguised cussing

-Mortefi also gets into the habit of leaving behind little things and trinkets for you, usually little sweet treats to get your spirits back up, but sometimes it may be little notes too to remind you to not lose courage or reminding you to eat

Calcharo:

-When he first notices you are really quiet and fidgety and refuse to meet his gaze he doesn’t think too much of it - at the end of the day you wouldn’t be the first nor the last one that is afraid of him

-But as time passes and you two bond and grow close, he realizes it’s not just fear of him, but also something much deeper and complex, something he can’t quite grasp yet and that leaves him puzzled

-Does ask some questions in regards to why you feel so anxious, or why you can’t just say what’s on your mind to certain people - especially to those that deserve to have a taste of their medicine

-He may not fully understand now, but he doesn’t deny that this exists and that it should be treated with some delicacy

-Now that is something he fears he can’t do. Softness is not his forte. He can’t hold you like a mother holds a baby, that gentleness evades him, and he can’t tell you love poems to ease your heart, that kind of creativity never came naturally to him

-But he can ensure your safety, through and through. If someone is bothering you, they won’t be doing so for much longer. If you need something from the markets and are anxious to go since it’s too crowded, he is going in your stead. If someone dares to be rude to you in front of him, they’ll be lucky to walk away with their spirit still within them.

-He does his best to accommodate you, even when it may be unreasonable to do so. 

-He is short and direct with words, so he does tell you things that seem odd to him in regards to his behavior, the same way he does to his men - but the difference is that there is much more..care in his tone when speaking to you. He cares for his team, but even more so for you

-Calcharo may look like a big scary dog that bites everything that moves, but if you come to him asking for a hug because your anxiety spiked and you just need to be held, he is opening his arms and pulling you into a gentle little bear hug and holding you until you start to pull away

Yeah and no😭 so listen.

Sunmary: my main OC/self insert is tied to all my other main OCs because they all are a shards of her. She got shattered in this big cataclysmic event and all her shards got "planted" in all various universes(cough, fandoms). She though (the original) got blown out of her birth world and is now traveling places searching for this one stubborn shard that's gone rogue and insane.

The shards are unaware of her or their origin, but she knows about them. Anyway- her main story does take place in HSR buuuttt- who says I can't chuck her into Wuwa.. at least for hcs sake..

Back on track- her and Jiyan share quite the bond once they had their time to spend with one another. Jien/Agent is dense as fuck but she really does admire and feel for Jiyan and his own struggles, and it all shows through the things she does for him. She is strict on the tongue but gentle on the hand. Jiyan on the other hand is pretty similar but has an even gentler approach to her °3° they're slowburn as hell but hey... whatever works for them and makes them comfortable

Jien isn't really around much, but they send letters often enough between themselves, and she makes it a point to visit him and his troops when she can. She's always got something new to tell them, be it about strategies or something as simple as their diet on the front lines. She's spews random facts lol

One small thing I like about their dynamic, specifically something I see them doing is Jiyan and her holding pinkies together or full on hand holding since Jien just has terrible eyesight, and even if she has glasses for it it's just a comfort thing between them.

Jien has a dragon tail and you know she's wrapping it around him when they cuddle 10000%

I'd love to make an Exile OC if I knew what they were. Are they just criminals? Homeless people? Some sort of actual ethnic/cultural group that people just discriminate against? I'm confused cause there's quests where we help Exiles but then we're allowed to just beat up and steal from them in the world exploration, like wth. And apparently Calcharo grew up as an Exile so seriously what's the explanation.

Also, Calcharo lore is so good. I love his character. Skipping next couple banners cause I used so many pulls on Jiyan. (80 pity after losing 50/50 to Jianxin) and now I have to grind even more to get my bbg Cal

Definitely gonna ship him with an OC eventually (I live vicariously through all my OCs)

From my understanding Exiles are some sort of bandit groups, they're not necessarily evil like the Factidus(if that's how you spell it) but they definitely deserve to be cautious around and they don't really bow down to the higher power of the country/region. I guess you can compare them to Eremites from Genshin Impact. Eremites are desert people who are commonly mercenaries but in one quest we meet Jeht and her father and we see it's not all black and white - there's bad Eremites that care for nothing else but money and their own skin, but then there's Jeht's father who fell in love with an outsider and was exiled from his group for it. We do beat them up in world exploration lol I have only played one quest in Wuwa that's oriented towards Exiles so I'm not really an expert here, I'm only talking with the knowledge I have so far 😭 if there's mistakes in this I'd be happy if someone corrected me on this.

But tbh you have quite a lot of creative freedom with Exiles. Although they may be in contact with other Exile groups they still seem to group up and look at the group's business and interests first, acting independently before anything else. You can make your own Exile group and make them really morally bad or gray or maybe even make them veer to the morally good unlike the majority of other Exile groups.

Exile OC and Calcharo are gonna slay together though, I know that 😈 they can have a shared background to bond over fr, maybe even make them interact briefly before if their Exile groups came in contact - maybe they were in conflict too?
