I used to think that any little facial twitch or off-movement of my eyes or unintended gesture could give away my innermost thoughts. And a lot of my innermost thoughts were sort of intrusive or obsessive, so I was afraid of seeming "weird" (or weirder, since most of the people around me seemed to see me as their own personal sideshow attraction).

I wish I could've seen a post like this when I was a kid.
