Hey there! I'm Jace, 19 year old (*2002). she/her and they/them. bi or pan. A (funktioning) depressed fangirl (girl? person? idek anymore) from Germany and working on my mental health (which is also the reason why I'm hardly on this site anymore). Part of more fandoms than there are stars in the sky, but mainly D&D shows (Dimension 20, Critical Role, NADDpod, The Adventure Zone, etc.) Musicals (Starkid, bare, Lizard Boy, etc.), MCU, Narnia, Marauders, K-pop, ... and sooo many more. Big multi-shipper. Love the angst. poetry & aesthetics™ enthusiast. I'll try to do inktober this year, but who knows.

Theres So Muchlifespan Angst In CR Campaign 1, And So Little In Campaign 2. Part Of Thats Probably Due
There’s so much lifespan angst in CR Campaign 1, and so little in Campaign 2. Part of that’s probably due to the fact that tieflings, half-orcs, and humans all tend towards a similar life expectancy give or take a couple of decades, and part of it’s the fact that the M9 are barely capable of thinking about next week at this point, let alone old age, but I think part of it is the fact that Caduceus (likely to outlive the rest of the party by a century or four, if he makes it through the next couple of years) is both utterly blase about death, and completely disconnected from, y’know, any practical sense of the passage of time.
Which means I keep coming back to the mental image of Keyleth far in the future, once even Pike and Scanlan are gone, visiting the Blooming Grove on Druid Business. And sitting down to tea with a very pleasant, somewhat absent firbolg, who’s happy to talk about his dear friends he adventured with and loved very well once upon a time that might’ve been last week or a couple hundred years ago, whichever.
“This is the Jester we’re drinking now. Sweet, of course, but surprisingly bitter if you overbrew it. We’ve got some Beau that’s just dried out and ready for tea if you want something that brews up a little stronger, or the Caleb’s got a nice delicate sort of zing to it.”
It takes at least another half a cup of Caduceus talking about different tea blends before Keyleth figures out he didn’t just name his teas after his old adventuring party, he literally grew the plants on their corpses and somehow thinks that this is entirely normal and fine.

I only knitted for some time two years ago, but this is fascinating. Sub-cultures that one isn't a part of are so interesting to observe.
Today I found out that yarners think crocheting socks is subversive and controversial and I just…on one hand, why the fuck not, I guess yarners are allowed to have their controversies, but on the other, how much time do you have in your FUCKIN DAY??
This is probably one of my absolute favourite pieces of fanart ever!

Some fan art of the amazing online show of Critical Role where professional, yet nerdy voice-actors play Dungeons and Dragons! :)
After a year of watching CR, the cast’s panels and the Between the Sheets interviews… I think I can safely say that the most important lesson I’ve learned from them is how life-changing it can be to surround yourself with good people.

Surround yourself with people who are open and vocal about how much they love and admire you, who call themselves your biggest fan and who are there to support you through your path to greatness.

Surround yourself with people who enjoy their own interests unapologetically, who genuinely seek for the things that will make them happy and who are not restrained by what people will think of them.

Surround yourself with people who aren’t afraid to show affection through words or physical gestures, who are shamelessly in love with their special other and who see that their love is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Surround yourself with people with healing energy, people who will listen to you attentively, who will offer a helping hand when the world is falling down around you, who will try their best to understand your struggles.

Surround yourself with people that are loud, who aren’t afraid to exist brightly and colorfully, who laugh and cry and have fun and feel with every fiber of their being.

Most importantly, though, be that kind of person. Put positive energy into the world and you will find it coming back to you. This group of nerds is just a taste of what unapologetic genuine shameless love can accomplish. And I feel grateful every day for the reminder that there’s someone out there who, when you least expect it, will show up and love you and make life a thousand times better.

LINES I’VE HEARD THAT ARE RAW AS HELL: A SENTENCE STARTER PACK
“I will face God and walk backwards into Hell.” ”Pick a god and pray.” “Then perish.” “Violence for violence is the rule of beasts.” “I have been through Hell and come out singing.” “There are no gods here.” ”Kiss my ass, you sanctimonious bastard.” “Do I look like the kind of man who dies?” ”Do you think God stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he’s created here on earth?” ”Most monsters are a manifestation of our own fears and inability to accept different cultures we don’t understand.” ”You can only learn from pain, the more pain the wiser you become.” ”God, forgive me.” ”I am blighted being cursed with sight.” ”This is the age of the expanding man.” “God’s dead and soon we will be, too.” “I thought there were no heroes left in this world.” ”To become God is the loneliest achievement of them all.” “You kneel before my throne unaware that it was built on lies.” “Impudent of you to assume I will meet a mortal end.” ”People who don’t fear death are the ones who crave it.” “This is Hell’s territory and I am beholden to no gods.” “Bury me shallow, I’ll be back.” ”Perception is truth to those who perceive it as such.” “Take this gift, for the gods surely won’t.” ”When the weight of the world is on your shoulders, you learn.” “Ironic that someone whose purpose it is to restore life would wish death upon themself.” “God wishes he were me.” “One day, you will be face to face with whatever saw fit to let you exist in the universe, and you will have to justify the space you’ve filled.” “Everything that we know and love is reducible to the absurd amount of chemicals, and there is therefore no intrinsic value in this material universe.” “Hypocrite that you are, for you to trust the chemicals in your brain to tell you they are chemicals.” “All knowledge is ultimately based on that which we cannot prove.” “Will you fight? Or will you perish like a dog?” “You’re a coward. You always were.” “Deviation from the norm will be punished unless it is exploitable.”
Fic authors deserve more credit.
Story time: I started a book about 23 hours ago and just finished it. Also in that time I slept for 10 hours, spent time with family, was at work, etc. Anyway, I enjoyed the book (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda). But it felt like it flew by, so after I finished I looked up the word count because what are pages? Pages are meaningless. I only function in word counts anymore.
The estimate I found was 58,580. My immediate reaction was “oh, that’s why. That’s nothing!” But what a shitty response. Because no. That’s not nothing. That’s a whole. Damn. Book. An entire novel! And Fic authors regularly bust out 30k, 50k, 100k, 150k words. AND THEY DO IT FOR FREE. WHILE WORKING AND LIVING THEIR LIVES.
So anyway, thank your favorite fic author today because they deserve it. Because they’re amazing. They’re the MVPs.
