I think more than anything this AO3 attack feels so defeating. This is a website that’s brought millions of people joy and comfort over the years. Somewhere anyone can feel that their ideas are loved and appreciated without the pressure of algorithms or judgement from people that don’t quite understand what it is to have a piece of media or a fictional world that you adore so deeply that your instinct is to create. I just can’t grasp why someone would do something like this when there’s no money to be made. There’s nothing to gain.

And even aside from that, the layer of LGBT discrimination that was added to the attack, the fact that even in relatively tucked away spaces online there’s no safety. This is all just so exhausting and needlessly cruel.

We can’t just have one thing.

The best part for me about Twitter falling apart is knowing that this one Twitter obsessed narcissist I used to know — who verbally ripped me to shreds because I said that not great people tend to congregate on Twitter and that the website is full of not great behavior — yeah that bitch, I know she’s fucking frothing at the mouth right now and that fills me with unimaginable joy.

Okay I think people are being a LITTLE too hasty in declaring Bo the “leader” or the main character. I feel like there’s gonna be a split here, with Din taking care of some other business and Bo leaving to go recruit other mandos. I think we’re gonna see her leave for an episode or two before coming back. I’m nervous about where we’re going but, I don’t think it’s as apocalyptic for the show as the fandom is claiming on here lol. It’s not the first time we’ve had an episode without a lot of Din and it probably won’t be the last.

Is anyone else angry about Aizawa getting totally shafted by Horikoshi since the end of the war arc? No? Just me. Alright alright alright alright…

I think one thing that really hits about this is the fact that they found next to no one. Like. Less than a dozen people were found alive in the rubble. There were almost not survivors found in the rubble. And in that moment of hopelessness they find this tree and think, I wasn’t able to save anyone else. But I can save this tree. We do what we can when we can.

Somewhat ironically, I think possibly the most human story about 9/11 is the one about the tree they found in the rubble.

About thirty days or so after the attacks, as rescue workers were trying to clear the wreckage and find the bodies of the dead, they found this little tree branch sticking out, otherwise unremarkable...but it still had leaves. And do you know what they did?

They dug out this tree. They dug this burnt and blackened tree out of the pile, took it out of the city and re-planted it to give it a chance to survive. To grow back. Just because they saw these leaves. And by some miracle, it did, and ten years later they brought this now 30-foot-tall tree back to lower Manhattan to plant it in the memorial at ground zero. They brought the tree home.

And is that just not...the most human fucking thing? These guys saw this one thing in that pile that was still alive, and they said dammit, we're gonna save this little tree. We can't save anything else, but we're gonna save this tree. And they did.

Say what you want about people, but I truly believe we are good at heart.

Okay so I was rewatching the scene where Thanos rains fire on the battlefield and Peter is all curled up and scared before Captain Marvel gets there. I consider it a cardinal sin that that scene did not involve Tony flying over to Peter and shielding him from the blasts. Damn it Russos, come on, that would have been perfect.

Then again they removed like 2 bits of irondad so why am I not surprised?

So, as a Tom Holland Stan I knew I wasn’t going to be able to resist commenting on his new girlfriend.

First of all, just to make my position clear. Good for them! They deserve happiness! She’s a lucky girl and he’s a lucky guy!

Okay, now I wanna talk about the controversy.

I’m not here to crap on anyone. Now, I don’t think people should be attacking them. I’m kinda just here to provide perspective for the people that are upset over this.

Ask yourself this. Why? Why are you this upset? You don’t know him personally. He’s an actor. You’ve never had a conversation with him (presumably) and you don’t know what he’s like behind closed doors. This girl obviously does, and probably loves him inside and out. And he feels the same.

Since most of the girls who are upset are younger, I need to also explain relationships. A relationship is built on a foundation of chemistry, friendship, and trust. Someone you can talk to for hours without running out of conversation. Someone you’re comfortable telling all your secrets. Someone you share things in common with.

Celebrities are not those people

At least, not to their fans. Because fans only see what they want them to see. If your searching for love, don’t look for it in superficial qualities and what they show a camera, look for it in the people around you. The relationships you build personally are what stick with you the rest of your life. People who you get to know as deeply as family who treat you like an equal.

It’s okay to be slightly jealous. Heck, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel a small spark of envy. He’s cute. But I’ve been in a steady relationship for almost 2 years and I know for an absolute fact that I wouldn’t trade my boyfriend for a million Tom Hollands because he gets me in a way that no one ever will. He accepts my flaws and lifts me up and I do the same for him. We communicate, we work, we comfort, and we stick together. And that didn’t happen overnight.

The point I’m trying to make is that you can’t forge fantasies and relationships based off of superficial false pretenses. Relationships take an insane amount of effort and they’re willing to put in that effort with each other. Go live your life and find your other. And if you’re young. Give it time. There’s no need to rush things. Trust me, you’re not missing out on much. 12 year old boys aren’t really great relationship material. It’s okay to wait.

Also, maybe stop with the fan fiction? I know that if I saw the internet flooded with fan fiction of me with my best friend or with a stranger I would be very uncomfortable, and my boyfriend more so.

Sorry that this got so preachy but I just needed to get my thoughts down before I exploded.
