do you ever just look at something- like a building, or road, or like a book or story and just think 'Huh this will outlive me and has probably outlived millions of people" And you just get this sort of weird sad, proud, happy adoration for it. Like people lived in there or people actually touched that or people actually read that and they're probably dead and it's cool.
