hi
yes, yes, yes and yes absolutely love this show. imma be honest when I say that I usually don't like watching 7+ shows so when I started watching it, it was mainly as a joke but like now I'm kinda obsessed with it and can't wait for the 2nd season. Also none of the characters in the show are straight I said what I said.
the way julie and the phantoms portays masculinity and the decision to go against certain male stereotypes is so refreshing? they actively avoided the worn out “90s pop-punk, lead singer of a band, douchy drummer” tropes and just showed three teenage boys who aren’t afraid to comfort each other, who hug each other and accept each other, who cry when they’re sad instead of bottling it up. there was no homophobia, none of the stereotypical “do you like me, bro?” jokes similar music shows do when one of the guys is gay, they were genuinely happy that alex had a crush on someone.
it was such a healthy portrayal of not just teenage boys, but teenagers in general and was such a breath of fresh air.
just as a reminder, changing your identity is not a bad thing, for any reason. thought you were a lesbian and now ur bi? thats ok! thought u were nonbinary and now ur a binary trans person? good and healthy. thought u were trans but realized ur cis and gender nonconforming? im glad u figured urself out! thought u were gay but ur actually ace? good! u were romance repulsed but u worked through some stuff and now ur romance favorable? good for u! and vice versa for all of these and anything else like this! changing ur mind on things is natural! fluctuations of the self is normal! i love u no matter what! have a good day!
(this post is not for t*rfs, aphobes, queerphobes, lesbophobes, biphobes, tr*scum, or any other kind of bigot)
Asexuality is a spectrum so it can come in many forms and ways, not everyone experiences it the same way but that doesn't make them less valid!
Asexuals who masturbate? Valid.
Asexuals who don't masturbate? Valid.
Asexuals who experience sexual attraction? Valid.
Asexuals who never experience sexual attraction? Valid.
Asexuals who are sexually active? Valid.
Asexuals who never had sex? Valid.
Asexuals who watch porn? Valid.
Asexuals who don't want to watch porn? Valid.
Asexuals who read smut? Valid.
Asexuals who dress sexy? Valid.
Asexuals who are heteroromantic? Valid.
Asexuals who are aromantic? Valid.
Asexuals of any romantic orientation? Valid.
Asexuals who are POC? Valid.
Asexuals who aren't cis? Valid.
Asexuals who are guys? Valid.
Asexuals who aren't skinny? Valid.
Asexuals who simply exist? Valid as f*ck.
There are no rules to being asexual so just be yourself and other people can f*ck off. You are valid as f*ck and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. ASEXUALS ARE A PART OF THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY!!! THE "A" STANDS FOR ASEXUAL, AROMANTIC AND AGENDER NOT FOR ALLY!!! Hope everyone had a great Ace Awareness Week!
(Feel free to add things to this unless you're gonna be aphobic then I will come and beat your *ss tyvm)
VALID AF AND DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE!!!
Trans women with pronouns that AREN’T she/her? Beautiful!
Trans men with pronouns that AREN’T he/him? Gorgeous!
Nonbinary/GNC/Agender people with pronouns that AREN’T they/them? Lovely!
Pronouns DON’T equal gender! So no matter your pronouns and no matter your gender, VALID.
