I Really Love Being On Everskies, So I Wanted To Share A Few Of The Outfits I Made. I Have Back Stories

I really love being on Everskies, so I wanted to share a few of the outfits I made. I have back stories on a few of them, so I'll put them in order of "it's just cute to me uwu" to "I designed a character I created 🗿" (also, it's earliest to most recent)

I Really Love Being On Everskies, So I Wanted To Share A Few Of The Outfits I Made. I Have Back Stories

I was playing around with the face on this one and eventually made this. I had been a little obsessed with the yandere troupe at that point. So she does have the vibe of "I found you love~<3"

I Really Love Being On Everskies, So I Wanted To Share A Few Of The Outfits I Made. I Have Back Stories

Randomly made, but after I made it I wanted to come up with some kind of Renaissance, medival ages, 1800 horror story or something.

I need to get an idea for this 😩

I Really Love Being On Everskies, So I Wanted To Share A Few Of The Outfits I Made. I Have Back Stories

This one is more or less the same as the first one, but more like the story of the smiling woman. It was just kind of cute and uncanny.

From various:

I Really Love Being On Everskies, So I Wanted To Share A Few Of The Outfits I Made. I Have Back Stories

This is a beautiful Mama who's been in my head since I was a kid. I finally get to see her made beautifully and not drawn by me 🤡

Her name is Mana and she's the Queen of the Clouds and Qydians (my made up species). Also, also, I really envisioned her to be wearing a sweater, it just seemed cozy to hug her and we all know how soft a good cardigan is.

From Manifested Malevolence:

This woman right here has no name, but has her entire plot developed 🗿. I suck ass at making names so if you enjoyed the post, drop a name for... Pretty much all of them lol.

She's a villain I have in this story where my MC (which is almost always a girl named Cassie) can manifest her thoughts into reality. Not like she can conjure an object, but if she thinks something will happen it manifests and actually happens. If I explain who she is exactly it'll spoil her role in the story, so I'll leave it there.

She uses her good looks to trick men and the rest is up to her abilities.

The 2nd image is how she appears when manifesting. I was just playing around one day and created the prettiest villain I've ever thought of.

Luck was on my side.

I Really Love Being On Everskies, So I Wanted To Share A Few Of The Outfits I Made. I Have Back Stories

This little cutie patootie is another part of the story little miss no name before her is from. Ig this is a spoiler, but this happens within the first 4 chapters, so it's not really a spoiler. No one's gonna ever read your shit so calm down.

Anyways, she is a manifested being named Mika (who is also based on a stuffed rabbit I had as a kid with the same name). She shows up and explains to Cassie what her ability is and her main goal is to help her however she needs it.

Mika is suppose to be very childish and gives me the egirl, overly (and borderline cringey) cute girl, but I can never see my baby as cringe 💞

From normalities:

I Really Love Being On Everskies, So I Wanted To Share A Few Of The Outfits I Made. I Have Back Stories

I was in the middle of writing a story when I thought of this random spin off idea. So, I made her and then wrote it.

Essentially, this Cassie is a super shy girl with a popular boyfriend. While he's at a party, his friends force ask him to get something they've forgotten. He's upset, but agrees to get it, but he wants some company while he goes to get it and she (up there) offers to get it for him since she's closer.

Going to the dorm she needs to, she walks in on some gathering in the room and everyone thinks she's a huge weirdo for looking so scared just walking into a room. She gets what her bf needed and goes to give it to him. She was so anxious by her encounter at the dorm that she ends up looking like she's about to cry and her bf decides to ditch his friends to comfort her 😀

The end.

Thanks for Reading~🍂

So, my Pintrest has started to share some tumblr writing advice and I saw one about world building and tbh I wanted to share my opinion on worldbuilding.

I love world building, but it is a lot of work.

Some of the minor things I worry about are the layout of a town/village/city, common folktale, mythos, and traditions. Now, I enjoy having that knowledge in my head because I can never turn my brain off when it comes to my stories, but some people can't.

Here's my issue with some worldbuilding advice I've seen.

One post stated that if you have a "normal moon" then you're not worldbuilding right.

Okay, so what if your story is set in a world without a moon? Perhaps you have a moon, but your MC can only be our during the day because the night is too dangerous? There's too many things that can obstruct a moon from being relevant and if not that, sometimes the moon or sun isn't important to the story and if the author were to put special attention onto the moon, but there's no real reason to care about it then what's the point?

Another one I saw was saying to know intricate attributes of your world's society i.e the world's humor, traditional songs, etc...

I understand knowing the kind of society in the world is very important, but it's easier just to copy our own society and then change it. Maybe instead of family gatherings, your world has family separations where families enjoy time apart from one another. Whatever it is, it's wrong to assume that just because you don't know little things like that, that your worldbuilding is poor.

I know I sometimes feel like my world building isn't good enough because I don't have a world like Lord of the Rings or Elden Ring or something, but I have to remind myself that I'm not writing Lord of the Rings.

My "advice" is simply to write your story and if the story calls for something specific to be developed in the world then so be it. Don't add something in the world if all its going to be is extra decoration.

Because yeah, maybe at a panel for your story, you can add details about the fine dining your world makes.

Until then though, just build a world that is relevant to your conflict. You can always add things later.

That's all from me, thanks for reading~🍂

Things to know if you wish to write an Actor!AU

Actors for a movie are very unlikely to meet for the first time on set, unless their characters barely interact. Especially for couples/family members/friends, you will often do auditions together (to test chemistry), script readings, rehearsals etc. Sometimes you might even travel with a co-star and depending on the movie you might do combat training (or any other type of training) together.

When you get on set, you don't immediately start shooting. You first get your make-up, hair and costume fixed. You probably also warm up your voice first, especially if you are about to do a scene where you talk very loud or even scream. Same if you are about to do an action sequence, you will probably want to warm up your muscles first.

Actors are usually not the first people to get on a set. Technicians, make up artists, costumers and often the director too will be there before actors show up.

A shoot almost never starts with a sex scene. Everyone knows they are some of the hardest (as in "awkward") scenes to film in a production so they usually try to plan these when you've already been shooting for a few weeks.

What is however more likely to be filmed first is a scene that shows a lot of the characters' well... character. You want to make sure as early on as possible that your casting choices were correct. That is why the Live Aid scene was the first one to be shot for Bohemian Rhapsody for instance. You don't want to waste time and money on filming an entire movie only to realise that the actors don't match well for the big (emotional) scene.

A movie can, but is rarely shot in order. What usually happens is that scenes are shot based on location. If you have a scene at the beginning of the movie and another one at the end, but they take place in the same environment, then you will film them at the same time. Shooting a movie in the film's chronological order costs extra time and money because you need to move your crew a lot more. It is usually only done by directors who give a lot of importance to the performance of their actors.

Actors have no say in their character's wardrobe... or at least officially. You may give costumers ideas based on how you perceive your character, but you don't have the final word in what you will wear in front of the camera.

Same goes for make-up.

And everyone wears make-up. Yes. even men. Yes, even characters who don't seem to be wearing any. Unless you are working on a very indie project, you are wearing make-up in front of the camera.

There is this thing called "guerilla filmmaking". It is something done in the indie filmmaking world, where you have micro-budgets and use whatever equipment you have at hand. Because of that budget, it often means filming in real locations and without the proper filming permits, which is obviously illegal. Just thought it could give some people inspiration.

Anyone is free to add to this list. I just really had to make it after reading yet another fanfiction where actors who play love interests meet for the first time on set and the director casually drops "I think we'll start with the sex scene"

I want to express how annoying overthinking is. For anyone who needs it, no matter what you did today I'm proud of you.

I keep telling myself I was unproductive because I didn't write and all I did was research publishing houses and now in the dead of night I'm like thinking how ridiculous my brain sounds.

Like, doing the research to find a publisher is a lot of teidious work.

Wanting to get your work to millions of people who will rip it to shreds is a weight bigger than the moon.

Anything where you got up and said you were gonna do something is a harder feat than most imagine. Because at least you can say you did something. Even if that something was nothing, you did nothing and you got through the day.

Little wins.

For anyone feeling down today/tonight I wanna tell you that we're doing alright and we're gonna do alright tomorrow too.

In regards to the WIP List Game, I'm genuinely curious about Dark Moon!

Oh, thank you for asking!

This is kind of a weird one to answer because I haven't written this story at all lol, but I wrote the sequel for it recently.

Dark Moon is a gothic style story where a wealthy aristocrat has a "curse" that makes him transform into a wolf. He finds out at some point that someone could possibly quell his curse, if not rid of it completely. So for a few years, he was courting women hoping to find the one that could help him. The village is pretty small so he quickly gets to a strange woman who seems to already know about his curse. What's more, she was even able to calm his agitated wolf form after egging it on.

This throws the pair into searching for more information about the curse and even the other things related to why this woman can quell his transformation.

Just a little extra information: I only finished the sequel first because I got an idea that added a new character. I wanted to see how I was going to write this character, so I wrote the story he was more heavily involved in to get a feel for him.

Again, thanks for the ask!

Writing 101: Homeless or Previously Homeless Characters

aka me doing research for you!

TW: homelessness, sickness, the like

So you’ve decided you want a homeless or previously homeless character in your story. We’ve all been there. I’m currently there at this present moment, hence why I’ve gathered the information I’m word vomiting to you all. This is going to be aimed more toward child or teenaged characters, since that seems to be the most popular archetype. These can also be applied to an adult but will be slightly altered.

the most common stereotypes surrounding homelessness are:

Homeless kid/teen gets taken in by Big Rich Guy™︎ See: Jason Todd (Batman)

Kid/teen has run away and is ruthlessly avoiding cops/foster care, therefore, temporarily homeless. See: Billy Batson (Shazam, 2019)

There’s a reason these are so popular: because they’re good. But, you can’t just slap a youngster on the city streets, have them taken in, and show them living a normal life. Homelessness takes a toll on a person and makes them grow up much, much faster. Let’s talk about the things that separate these individuals from typical children, and how you can show them in writing. (These can be altered to fit the personality of your character).

1) Homeless young people will not trust you no matter what you do. It will take a long time and a lot of bonding to build trust with a homeless kid, even if you take them in. Depending on what city or town they live in, and why they’re homeless in the first place, they could’ve had to deal with defending themselves from people trying to rob, take advantage of, hurt, or even kidnap them. Or, if they’re running from the cops, they might’ve been tricked by an undercover cop trying to coax them to the station, or just plain traumatized by having cops and cruisers searching for them. If they’re homeless because they ran away, it could be abuse. All in all, trust is so incredibly hard to come by in these kiddos. They might run from you. They might try and fight you. They might hide from you. They might be scared absolutely shiteless of you even though you haven’t done anything wrong, and that’s just how it is. Even if you manage to get them into your house, they can and will bolt if you scare them and that instinct is gonna stand for a while.

how you can show it:

moving away from people

body language and positions that indicate they’re ready to run

hiding

taking a defensive posture when approached

or just attacking

going nonverbal

threats

“don’t touch me,”

“leave me alone,”

“just go away!”

2) They will not seek out help. They’ve been dealing with everything themselves, so they believe they can do it alone. Vulnerability out on the streets is a good way to get killed or taken advantage of, so it’s likely they won’t even think about it. If they’re sick, they’ll deal with it alone. If they’re hurt, they’ll deal with it alone. If they had a nightmare, they’ll deal with it alone because they always have, or they think it’s safer if they do. It’s similar to the way an animal hides weakness until it’s absolutely impossible: because they need to to survive. If they show they’re weak, they’ll die, and that’s just that. Imagine being sick while living on the streets. Going to a doctor will get you better, yes, but handed over to child services. Going to a stranger could get you killed, kidnapped, handed to the feds or so on. It just isn’t safe to rely on anyone else. At the very least it just makes them a burden to others, and it will take them a long time to un-learn that.

how you can show it:

finding them curled up in the bathroom floor because they’ve been sick all night but didn’t tell anyone

falling asleep during the day because they’ve had nightmares at night

being extremely apologetic when they get help

or extremely snappy and refusing to let anyone help

“i can do it myself!”

“i don’t need your help!”

“i’m fine!”

“i’m sorry. i’m so sorry i’ll clean it up i promise,”

“i didn’t mean to bother you i swear,”

“i’m taking care of it, i can handle it,”

3) These guys have fight or flight like a wild animal. All their senses are more acute. They’re always ready to bolt. The moment they’re in a room they’re cataloguing possible exits, entries people could use, things they could improvise as a weapon if they have to. They’re scared and they want to get back to where they’re comfortable. Which is not usually an enclosed room where people can get to them. They can smell danger and the moment they do, they’re out of there. Chances are, they’ve learned all of this stuff the hard way.

how you can show it:

noting how their eyes seem to catch on things like windows, doors, crowbars, etc

watching closely for people’s expressions or attitudes to change

restless in enclosed spaces with others

always sitting or wanting to be near a door

getting anxious behind locked doors

eyeballing hiding spots

perking up at noises around the house that other people probably wouldn’t mind

“are you mad?”

“was that the front door?”

4) These kiddos will have different fears and anxieties than normal. They won’t be scared of the monster under the bed. They may be scared when the leaves start to change because they know it’s about to get really cold and they almost froze to death last time that happened. They might be nervous when the spring turns to summer because they’re prone to overheating and dehydration. They might be afraid of not emptying their plate because they don’t know when they’ll have more food. They might be scared of getting sick because then they’re weak and their judgement is skewed and it’s too easy for someone to manipulate them. They might be scared of the people because they were previously put into an abusive foster home. They might be scared of certain days, like Halloween or full moons, when the loonies come out and prey even harder on children. The possibilities are endless.

how you can show it:

eating everything offered to them, even if it makes them feel sick

hiding when they’re hurt or sick so people can’t talk to them

hesitant to go outside during winter/summer/on certain days/to certain places

flinching in response to touch, or just someone approaching

crying when they think they’re in trouble

or just shutting down

excessive apologizing

“i hate the cold. just makes you sick,”

“don’t talk to me,”

“i’m sorry, i’m sorry, that was so stupid…”

5) They might not be grateful for what is given to them, if you’re going the whole “taken in” route. They’re going to be suspicious and wary. Or they may be absolutely stunned and confused. It’s not what they’re used to, it’s not what they feel safe in, and it’s strange and unsettling for them.

how you can show it:

sleeping in the floor in the corner of the room where they can see everything instead of the queen bed that faces away from the door

sleeping in weird freaking places, like closets, wardrobes, under the bed, anywhere where they think they are safest

wary to accept gifts or just items they need

nervous that they are being manipulated

“why are you giving me this?”

“i like it better when i can see everything,”

“are you trying to trick me?”

Feel free to add on!!!!
