Hi, do you get that all consuming passionate hyperfication on fictional characters to the point where you can feel it in your every fiber of your being, to such a degree that you stare into nothing, thinking about their story and how you will never be able to meet them, so your brain makes up all these fantasies and then you forget about everything else for hours at a time, and when watching or playing the media they are in nothing else really matters or are you normal??
Being in love with a fictional character includes:
buying love letters off Etsy for yourself
buying stuffed animals based off the character
having a large Pinterest board full of pictures of them
crying late at night because they are not real
creating scenarios in your head about you and them
reading every possible fanfiction you can
buying clothes with their name on it to fuel your delusions
buying candles with their scent
writing their last name and your first name on margins of papers to test it out
doodling pictures of them
thinking about them 24/7
legitimatly thinking about getting a cardboard cut out (if theres even one available)
marking their height somewhere so you can compare yours all the time
totally not me rn

How I judge so-called problematic characters is not on a matrix of approval to disapproval. It's walking a museum corridor, noticing little details and intricacies, and saying "ah, interesting" while swirling a wine glass and thinking
I wish hot and weird people like fictional characters who just understand me for the confusing person I am were as easy to find in real life as they are on tumblr... or...in...books... sigh.

You can like really weird, dark, fucked-up fictional shit without having been traumatized. You don’t need to justify your preferences in fiction by saying it’s therapeutic. 1) it’s no one’s business what demons you carry around in your head, and 2) sometimes people just like things.

So.. let me get this straight. According to some people’s logic saying a character is queer in some way is “wrong” unless it’s a headcanon or outright confirmed. But saying a character is straight with no “evidence” and insisting on it is perfectly fine? Does no one see the hypocrisy in that? You can’t yell at people for “assuming the sexuality” of a character whose sexuality is unconfirmed. By that logic It’s just as unfair to assume by default a character is straight. Why is it okay for people to default a character as straight but not queer unless we can “prove it”?
