Time just distracts you from some of them. Some types of wounds just do not heal. They may be hidden under the mat, but they all come back after 2 am...

“It gets hard to just sit still sometimes, you know? My mind wanders a lot, it always ends up thinking about everything that was or is or could be. On rare occasions, I think of you and when I do I see you reading, laughing, talking, the things I imagine you would be doing right now. I try to ward it off by thinking of the bad you did but I find myself forgiving you just to catch these glimpses, smiling to myself like a fool. Pathetic right?”
