I'm like super normal and not unhinged in the slightest (I spent 3 days formatting, printing, and binding a niche internet story about sci fi football into a 280 page physical book)
You immediately stop aging and become immune to disease and mortal injury. no secret "catch." it is permanent.
shoutout to 17776 for somehow making me invested in an AMERICAN FOOTBALL game while making me emotionally attached to some satellites (juiceeeeeee)
okay but you know the fanpersonalities we have for the satellites in 17776 will eventually become their real personas when they discover this data in the future and use quantum shit to integrate them into their own systems

I know a LOT is in this newest chapter but I’m thinking about the sort of. little commentary on white settler colonialism in it. the contrast between the obviously phony and overwrought nonsense about alexander the great being buried in Illinois, versus the actual history of american land illustrated in the two towns named “ball ground” and “ballplay” because they were cherokee stickball-playing sites. i’m not really qualified to make further commentary, but.
in an faq for the original 17776, jon bois mentions that what (the united states of) america and football have in common is that he loves the idea of them, but that they’ve too intrinsically designed to destroy people and cause misery for him to truly love them unconditionally. 17776′s base premise was, in part, that american football can only become its best self in a world where people can’t get injured by it or die. musings on the nature of “america” was also present in 17776, but it almost feels almost like it’s a stronger theme now in 20020.
needed to make something right now to deal with these feelings. think of this like the rough draft to the series of essays that probably will never come, but i sure can hope!
i feel like everyone has at least one of these so: in the tags tell me what media someone else needs to experience to truly understand the person you are today. mine is undertale and the owl house
as we enter the age of artificial intelligence, woefully underprepared and mired in countless problems of our own creation, I think it's time for everybody to read (or reread) this thoughtful little article from 2017 which speculates on what the future of this paradigm shift might hold, and the things we should hold in our minds as we approach the singularity.
if you open the link and get a few sentences in, and start to wonder "is this the right article?" the answer is yes. just trust me and keep reading.
what object shows will look like in the future
sorry for constantly doing so many polls. but i need to know
being a 17776 fan feels like chewing drywall. guys. guys this story ostensibly about american football changed me. no guys you should read it - well when I say read I mean experience it really - no no it's online it's free - no it won't break your computer this is normal it's okay i promise it's not even really about football. well no actually it's about satellites. yeah the Jupiter Explorer is in it and they're a little shit. yeah no the gender binary doesn't exist in 17776. yes i meant 17776 not 1776. it's not even really about satellites. it is though. please i am begging you read this it changed me.

Animation slightly inspired by @/woolydemon s edit, not tagging because I’m not exactly sure how old it is and I don’t wanna be annoying but HERE!!! Animation!!!
This took me about 3 hours over the course of the day? It’s much more low effort than most things I do so
