Kill Your Darlings (2013)
I just finished watching Kill Your Darlings for the first time. It's rated R, but it isn't highly sexual or violent though there are scenes. I honestly enjoyed the movie and would recommend it. It was great, and honestly, I'm glad I watched it. It was recommended by someone saying that it fits the dark academia aesthetic, so I decided since I enjoy that aesthetic, I'd watch the movie. I wasn't disappointed, also the main character Allen Ginsberg is played by Daniel Radcliffe. So if you're a big Daniel Radcliffe fan you should watch.

. . . I don't care what you think, that's what I want. If you are able to understand and can see your way clear to shepharding me around the big city for 9 months, then, perhaps, go to Europe with me next summer thats swell, great and wonderful, exactly what I want, if not — well, why not? Really, damn it, why not? You sense I'm not worthy of you? you think I wouldn't fit in? you presume I'd treat you as badly or worse? You feel I'm not bright enough? you know I'd be imposing, or demanding, or trying to suck you dry of all you have intellectually? Or is it just that you are, almost unconciously, aware of enough lack of interest in me, or indifferance to my plight and need of you, to believe that all the trouble of helping and living with me, would not be quite compensated for by being with me? I can't promise a darn thing, I know I'm bisexual, but prefer women, there's a slimmer line than you think between my attitude toward love and yours, don't be so concerned, it'll fall into line. Beyond that – who knows? Let's try it & see, huh? . . . Relax, man, think about what I say and try to see yourself moving toward me without any compulsive demands, due to lack of assurance that I love you, or because of lack of belief that I understand you etc. forget all that and in that forgetfulness see if there isn't more peace of mind and even more physical satisfaction than in your present subjective longing (whether for me, or Claude, or anybody) I know one cannot alter by this method, but come to me with all you've got, throw your demands in my face, (for I love them) and find a true closeness, not only because what emotionality I have is also distorted by lonliness, but also because I, logically or not, feel I want you more than anyone at this stage. I'm really beat, off to bed, and a knowledge of relief, for I know you must understand and move with me in this, you better not fight against it or any other damn thing, so shut up, relax, find some patience and fit into my mellow plans. Quell'autunno a New York io e Peter Orlovsky facemmo una lettura poetica alla New York University nel Greenwich Village e improvvisammo per un'ora sul tema "Perché scrivere poesia su carta quando bisogna tagliare gli alberi per far libri di poesia?", un tema tratto da un pensiero scritto da Gregory Corso, "Non ci possono essere cattive notizie scritte su cattive notizie".
Tra il pubblico, a nostra insaputa, si trovava Bob Dylan che era seduto in fondo alla sala in compagnia del suo vecchio amico attore e musicista Dave Amram. Dylan telefonò quella notte e chiese: "Ma puoi mettere insieme parole come quelle ogni volta che vuoi?", ci raggiunse nell'appartamento di Lower East Side, prese una chitarra e suonò diversi accordi di blues e ritmi dell'America Latina mentre io, seduto sulla sponda del letto, emettevo sillabe e frasi ritmate più in fretta che potevo [...].
E così Dylan, contento di questa prova di facilità, disse "perchè non andiamo a registrare in studio?".

Getting to Truth Through Process of Elimination?
"I don’t think there is any truth. There are only points of view." — Allen Ginsberg I disagree w Ginsberg on this. How could you have a point of view if a truth doesn't exist? For example, we may all look at a house from different perspectives but there still has to be a house in order to have perspective of the house. This could actually help us determine truth. Assuming that everything is a point of view on the truth then eliminating all points of view should, theoretically, leave us w the truth. ~ Trabue Gentry

Yeah it strikes me that "Mexico City Blues" is the kind of work that would appeal to a teenager, especially a smart one. Not that it's good, but it's got that kind of faux coolness that would appeal to a teen, I think. I'm trying to remember.
