this was literally just a shower thought and i really enjoyed writing this so i might possibly give this a part 2 :), lemme know if you’d like a series with this idea!- KR

your main goal- be better then everyone else that stood in your way.

those were your intentions upon entering high school as a first year. you never thought that one day that goal would come true; here you are sitting on a couch inside of an amazing talk show ready to be interviewed. you look down at your sweaty, trembling hands for a moment before taking a deep breath. “fuck (y/n)- just stay calm- you got this-” you mumbled out. you love your job but NEVER fancied interviews. being an idol wasn’t easy because you weren’t just an idol, you were one of the most well know and biggest in the country, probably the world (watch out bts (y/n)s coming for your spot 💅🏻). you took another deep breath before slapping your cheeks with both of your hands, something you’ve always done whenever you’re extremely nervous- as well as another small thing that came from your high school years. yes the slap stings to an extent, but it did help you cope with your anxiety. you stood up from the touch and stretched your arms trying to at least relieve a werid feeling in your body; groaing from the strain, you relax and sigh deeply. staring at your still sweaty hands, you clentch them whispering out ‘i got this’ and forcing a small smile before stepping backstage of the studio.

“now for the best part of the night!” the hostess exclaimed as she stood up with a huge grin on her face. “we all know who they are- they started it all in the small prefecture of Miyagi, Japan and now being one of the BIGGEST idols in all of the world-”. your stomach churned a little from your nerves at the words coming from the host’s mouth. you’re not sure if it’s just nerves or the lunch you had earlier but ya felt something. “pleave give a warm round of applause for (i/n)!” the hostess as well as the house stood up and applaud- some fans screaming your name as well as holding up banners with 'I LOVE YOU (I/N/!!’ written on them. walking from backstage towards the studio, you felt all the nerves from earlier fade away as you hear the cheering of your fans near you- you were a smiling mess.

you greeted the hostess with a warm hug and sat down in the chair next to her, looking over at the house with sparkling eyes. you were currently on break from tour and music, so it was a sight to see when you heard the similar noise of your fans calling out for you. waving with both hands, you greeted the crowd with an inaudible 'AYO’ as they cheered even harder for you. once they quiet down you let out a laugh of relief, “ahh my god- you guys never seem to let me down ehh?’ a couple of a fans screamed as to say 'yES NEVER WE LOVE YOU BITCH-’. you cover your face with your hands as you try to hide a face-aching smile as your fans agree with you.

"it is a literal HONOR to have YOU- (i/n)- join us in the studio today, it’s so amazing to finally meet you and to finally talk with you!” the hostess said with a gleaming look on her face. you could tell she was definitely a fan and you didn’t judge- you love your fans no matter what age range they fall in. you let out an exaggerated sigh, “i’m glad to be here, i almost shit myself from the nerves backstage- jesus-’ you cackled, the house as well as the hostess followed as they all let out little giggle fits of laughter.

as you two discussed your life as a famous person, how it all happened, scandals that you were in (👀 the scandal you’d probably have is you rumored to rob your favorite store or something 🤦🏻‍♀️-), blah blah blah- a specific question for some reason- it just hit you.. "alright alright, so- how was your love life back in high school ehh?? got anyone 'special’ at the moment hmm??” the was the hostess said it was very childish- her wiggling her eyebrows when she said 'special’- it really did make you laugh. deep down you felt something- like something was pulling at your heartstrings- you wanted that feeling back. “oh- uh- haha-” you chuckled nervously as you stumbled over your words- you weren’t quite sure why now. “i- was- uhh- i was a pretty lonely kid- and even now i’m still a hopeless romantic” you manage to force out with an embarrassed smile. you tried to remember your high school year memories but couldn’t think of anything- not until- “he” popped into your mind. “uh- there IS one time where i was actually in love- not sure if it was just a fever dream but got damn it felt amazing..” you spoke softly, moving your head down trying to hide yet ANOTHER smile- but this time it was a soft smile, one that someone would have if they were in love. the hostess wiggled her eyebrows aggressively as she spoke, “it was amazing, ehh??” causing the house to break into more fits or laughter from the joke. your head jolted up- cheeks flushed pink from the joke. “nOT LIKE THAT-” you yelled as you softly tapped her hand, chuckling, “you stinky.”

im not sure if this is a full thought or not but there's something intensely comical about the idea that Asahi could, probably, just straight pick up Daichi.

Like Asahi is deeply afraid of him, but outside of like structured team heirarchy they're just regular friends and Asahi is *so* strong and anyway just imagine how sincerely Nishinoya would lose his goddamn mind if Daichi and Asahi were roughhousing bc Daichi's a little shit and making fun of him for something and Asahi just grabbed him by the waist and hauled him up over his shoulder like "PLEASE STOP TRYING TO FIGHT ME" and Daichi is just thrashing around like "GODDAMNIT NOT AGAIN."

Random Karasuno hcs (but its mainly the third years and not just Karasuno) pt.1

Daichi has a german shepherd (who adores Suga)

Asahi has two cats (both girls, a calico called Koi he got as a kitten from his mothers friend when he was young (Koi was the runt of the litter) and a stray black one he found in a back alley behind his apartment building during his first year who he nurtured to health and called Selene)

Suga is scared of birds (Daichi finds this hilarious)

The current captains of the volleyball teams have an affiliation with their schools animals, and the rest of the teams are so confused by it. - Daichi can call over crows and hand feeds them (randomly they fly over to him and sit on his shoulders/head/arms (and his legs when he’s sat down)) - Kuroo is LOVED by Tokyo’s stray cats - Bokuto has gone into the countryside and ‘somehow’ stumbled across a family of owls who adopted him as their own - ect

Suga has figured out the ways to bribe or sweettalk most of his teachers into giving him homework extensions (he is teaching this to the second years before he graduates)

Kiyoko’s favourite compliments are when they’re about her personality (kinda canon) - often theyre from Asahi because he compliments everyone without thinking. (but once Tanaka (or whoever you ship her with) caught on and started switching to specific non-appearance based compliments, thats when she realised she was catching feelings)

Aoba Josai have the best parties

Ushijima hated sweet stuff until Tendou started making him stuff. Now he has the biggest sweet tooth for ONLY Tendou’s baking

Asahi is an affectionate drunk (my baby)

Asahi has his ears pierced (thought it would be super painful but he hardly felt it at all)

Ushijima's wallpapers on his phone are two pictures of Tendou (he was told to use his favourites but every picture of Tendou is his favourite - he changes the pictures he uses every week without fail)

Bokuto LOVES owls so much its insane

Daichi is allergic to oranges but tries to eat them anyway ("Suga, its hardly an allergy, more of a MILD intolerance," "Asahi i will not die if i have i singular piece.") (I am projecting my own issues onto him)

Noya is a biter

Hinata can and will befriend anyone somehow. He has ordered takeout and become besties with the single, overworked father who delivered it. It confuses a lot of people

this is an asadaisuga rant featuring my headcanons so read on if you dare

(Tw: mentions of child abuse, parental death, and implied neglect and bullying)

I just love how I hc they would compliment each other outside of the canon bits we’re given. Especially affectionally.

I hc that Asahi lost his parents when he was young and was raised by his older sister, but cause she always worked a lot to support them he was often alone, and he wasn’t very good at making friends. So he was a very touch-starved kid and now is super clingy with daichi and suga.

I also hc that whilst he has both of his parents, suga was never super close with either of them, so he would always busy himself with friends and activities not at home, so where he lacks in parental affection he is super social.

And I hc that Daichi’s parents are very stern and cold people, super negative to him and saying things like ‘showing emotion makes you weak’ and that focusing on friendships and relationships are pointless and to only focus on his goals. But they’re also super disappointed in him anyways and just mean™️ (and abusive?) so of course then Daichi grows up hiding his emotions and feelings from others and refusing to show any ‘weakness’, up until some point during their first year when suga and asahi tell him he’s not weak for feeling certain ways. he slowly starts improving talking to people about his emotions after.

And Asahi (and daichi) start getting the affection they both deserve from an overly-social suga, but they accept it differently. Asahi absolutely loves the extra love as he didnt have much growing up, and is super sappy and cuddly. Daichi, on the other hand, doesnt know how to accept affection or compliments, and often will just freeze up if hugged or something (and flinches easily).

And Suga finally has people he has a familial bond with and support him, plus willingly put up with his chaos.

Sure, Daichi being the responsible adult of the team is cool, entertaining, good.

You know what's great? Sawamura Daichi being super chaotic and mischievous when he isn't in charge of other people and being just a chaotic teen boy (He's 17 not 47) (bonus points if the team find out during a get-together outside of school and he's super irresponsible and Asahi and Suga are unfazed and like '*shrugs* yeah this is normal)

I just love how Furudate wrote the story so well to make it this far, Haikyuu is amazing and the complexity of the story is incredible, the character development and the journey of the characters. I'm tearing up again...

HAIKYUU 402: LAST CHAPTER SPOILER WARNING!!!

The final chapter of Haikyuu which is the most magnificent sports anime I've ever read.

Before you scroll down I'M BEGGING YOU TO PLEASE READ THE CHAPTER 402 FIRST. This is going to be super lengthy post hehe.

This is a spoiler zone, you have been warned.

I'm not gonna lie while reading this chapter I WAS CRYING THE ENTIRE TIME.

There are so many significant moments during this chapter (I honestly feel like this summary isn't going to cover everything.)

This moment during the beginning of chapter 402 when Ushijima and Tendo, I truly believe Tendo is Ushijima's first actual friend. It was shown after Karasuno VS Shiratorizawa match (Season 3) but their friendship solidifies even more during Chapter 395 timeskip when Tendo called Ushijima after the World's Match (when Team Japan lost & Ushijima faced criticism) he's the strong pillar that grounds Ushijima.

Tendo truly deserves this moment, he & Ushijima not just considering each other as 'teammates' or 'comrades' but best friends.

Everyone is hyping up on Hinata & Kageyama or Iwaizumi & Oikawa's friendship BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT USHIJIMA'S AND TENDO'S FRIENDSHIP?

YES. WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT IT. LOOK AT THEM. so beautiful. *sobs*

Everyone is talking about how glorious Lev & Alisa looks modelling together and their billboard in the streets of Shibuya but can we pause for 5 seconds to stare at the Yaku Morisuke?

LET US FREAKOUT LOOK AT YAKU WEARING THIS GORGEOUS SUIT?

Sir YOU LOOK FINE AS HELL.

I also love the fact Yaku and Lev still communicate with each other, Lev even called Yaku asking him if he has seen the billboard in Shibuya. How precious ❤ also Yaku part of the Russian VLeague team??? HOLY SHIT.

Also, I love that almost everyone in team Karasuno are gathering in Tanaka's house while watching the Olympic game together. Their solid friendship just have my heart and soul.

This moment is where all AsaNoya stans are SCREAMING TO OBLIVION. Asahi and Nishinoya TRAVELLING AROUND THE WORLD TOGETHER. Like HOLY SHIT GOOD LORD IMAGINE ALL OF THE FANFICS WE WILL GET TO READ. (Ao3 writers I'm looking at you guys)

This panel just took my breath away, I started tearing up when I was reading this. It's a full circle of Oikawa's journey - he is now against the people he wanted to defeat during this youth (Kageyama and Ushijima). He is even standing on the other side of the court against his best friend Iwaizumi.

I want to make a comparison between Ushijima & Kageyama and Iwaizumi during this panel.

Ushijima & Kageyama as Oikawa's rivals. During middle school he felt like he couldn't stand a chance against a genius setter who is 2 years his junior, in his middle school until high school him & team keeps on losing against Ushijima (who is also considered as a genius and a stroke of luck because of his left handed spikes.) Oikawa desires to DEFEAT them. This strong sense of competitiveness have matured & the adrenaline of finally become better than them WITHOUT NEEDING TO BE A GENUIS but because of SHEER HARD WORK and TENACITY.

What makes them vastly different from Iwaizumi?

It is clearly shown that it was Iwaizumi who said to Oikawa "I will defeat you on the day we fight." Not Oikawa saying that he wants to defeat Iwaizumi - instead he said "I'll be waiting for it." Oikawa does NOT have the same intense desire of needing to defeat Iwaizumi (compared to Ushijima & Kageyama) instead he said it with nostalgia. Despite Iwaizumi no longer playing volleyball professionally he is still associated with volleyball as Team Japan's athlete trainer.

It's also important to mention that Iwaizumi is Oikawa's foundation of friendship and support, Iwaizumi keeps Oikawa grounded- they have seen each other's struggles and success. THAT SHIT JUST GOT ME AND MY FEELS.

ALSO LOOK AT IWAIZUMI'S HUGE ASS PROUD GRIN, OUT OF ALL SMILES IN THIS WORLD IWAIZUMI HAJIME'S SMILE IS MY FAVORITE. (Clearly I'm an Iwaizumi simp)

the moment we've all be waiting for...

OIKAWA TOORU OFFICIALLY PART OF THE ARGENTINIAN NATIONAL TEAM.

HOLY FUCK SOMEONE HOLD MY HAND BECAUSE I'M SMILING AND CRYING AT THE SAME TIME. THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN OF MY EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER IN THIS MOMENT.

I just want to say this...

OIKAWA TOORU IS THE REAL UNDERDOG OF HAIKYUU.

Imagine he has NO National experience (unlike Hinata who actually got to go to Nationals & made a name for himself.) Oikawa got the skills, the strategy, the tactics, dedication, and intense competitiveness but HE NEVER GOT THE CHANCE (he even went as far as pushing himself to be better in volleyball resulting to injuring his knee. THAT IS SOME INTENSE DEDICATION.) During his middle school and high school volleyball matches or to be able to participate in Nationals or even in Japan All Youth Team's & Trainings NOT ONCE HE IS GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY (and honestly that shit sucks because you know that your actually good at something but no one bats an eyelash towards your direction? It must have hit on Oikawa's pride.)

OIKAWA IS THE REAL UNDERDOG. He does not lack height (compared to Hinata) but he lacks the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and he lacks the chance of be in center stage when he was in Japan.

But now in Argentina he becomes the REAL KING OF THE COURT. Now, he FINALLY is at center stage dazzling brighter than anyone, he is the most talked about volleyball player - he used to be a nobody in Japan but now he is someone that everyone knows and acknowledges.

Hands down the BEST character development.

Now I NEED Haikyuu chapter centered on Oikawa's struggles and experiences in Argentina - alone in a foreign country to chase his dreams that shit is amazing and inspiring.

This panel made me stop breathing for a while. LOOK AT MAGNIFICENT AND GLORIOUS THEY ARE.

JAPAN'S NATIONAL TEAM.

I HAVE NO WORDS. EVERYONE LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL AND LOOK AT THAT TINY IWA IN THE CENTER.

My skin has cleared. My sadness now gone. My lifespan increased by 10 years. Someone please put this panel on my forehead, thank you very much.

There are so many important portions in the following scenes in this panel but I choose this one because it reminded me of Hinata & Kageyama's dynamics since Season 1.

Hinata always calling for a toss to Kageyama (remember Season 1: Dateko VS Karasuno match, or during Season 2 Training camp Hinata always calls for a toss and Kageyama always delivers.)

The greatest weapon is their powerful bond and synchronization, their freak duo toss that shifts the momentum of the game.

Kageyama and Hinata: the greatest rival, the greatest opponent, the greatest ally, and now the greatest weapon FINALLY used on center stage.

For me this moment really put Haikyuu into it's full circle, it really put it into completion, and it truly made it perfect ending.

Hinata Shoyou used to be the boy riding his bicycle looking at Karasuno's number 10 Little Giant - now Hinata Shoyou isn't just known as 'Little Giant' but Ninja Shoyou proudly wearing this Number 10 Jersey PART OF JAPAN'S NATIONAL TEAM.

He is now someone ALL children aspires to be, someone that they want to become in the future - someone that inspires them to play volleyball and keep on breaking the tall wall looming over them.

I FULL BLOWN SOBBED DURING THIS MOMENT. The impact, the power, the intensity of volleyball into their lives.

These two moments really struck a chord, Haikyuu isn't just about Hinata and his teammates. It is about no matter how little or big your journey is it will always leave the GREATEST impact into someone's life.

This wraps up the 8 truly amazing years of Haikyuu.

Furudate and his wonderful team of assistants, editors, translators, and researchers. Thank you for bring us joy through Haikyuu - thank you for inspiring us everyday and for creating these characters.

I've been reading Haikyuu for 3 years already, when I first watched a Haikyuu with no expectations and no idea what is volleyball but now I am fully immersed in the Haikyuu fandom. Who would have thought I'll be obsessed with this anime? I've watched and read so many manga & animes but it is Haikyuu that really struck me the most.

This ending is BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS - it really blew me off the roof and I have a mixture of both sadness and joy. I'm sad that Haikyuu is ending but I'm also happy that all of the characters I grew to love have forged their own paths and grew not just as volleyball players but as characters that we can connect and relate on.

I would like to quote my favorite line in Haikyuu:

"For today you happen to be the defeated. But what will you become tomorrow?"
