Samhain (Oct 31 - Nov 1)
Also known as witches new year, marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, the nights are long and it is getting colder. The harvest is celebrated and we express our gratitude. Samhain is also a celebration to honor ancestors and contact the deceased, as the veil is thin and makes communication easier.
Correspondences for Samhain: Symbols of Samhain | pumpkins, bats, spiders, cobwebs, witches, broomsticks, skeletons. Colors | Black, orange, white, silver, purple. Spells | Gratitude, releasing, honoring, abundance, communication, protection. Crystals | Amethyst, onyx, obsidian, smokey quartz. Herbs and flowers | Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Rosemary, Sandalwood. It's Tabitha and her as-yet-unnamed cat! I did this with a brush, which I don't do very often. I think I need more practice, good thing there's still 25 days to go.

Okay, I lied, the very last one isn't spooky at all. I thought I'd take one more stab at brush inking for the last day, and Tabitha makes such a cute Halloween picture. It's a very important night of the year for her.

I read that the original book is really different to the Studio Ghibli film and the author was very upset with the changes to the story. I really want to find a copy of the book so I can see what it's like!
And the second one! I bet everyone would have thought this was really cute on Hallowe’en.

Tabitha is very proud to have been entrusted with Granny’s All Hallow’s Eve deliveries.
I have a new postcard set available in my shop! I’ve been drawing Tabitha for the last day of Inktober every year for the last 5 years, and finally have enough for a set, so I got them printed! I think they look really cute together. The postcards are glossy on the front and matte on the back, so you can use them as little prints or as actual postcards. I hope you all think Tabitha is cute as well!
