The most interesting thing is that many people learn Russian for reading Dostoevsky in original. Am I only one who read him on English to improving it?
I don’t know how the actual fuck, but my favorite characters are Smerdyakov and Alyosha at the same time.

This is my absolute most favourite quotes by one of my favourite authors. I've been reading the brothers Karamazov for a while now and it has gotten a special place in my heart. As much as I love Alyosha I cannot ignore Ivan's rational side. I believe the same with what he said on the suffering of children but have other views on other things talked in the novel. I want to finish it so badly but school is killing me 24/7 at the moment

Next time anyone tells me "Dostoevsky is a boring classic", I'll point them to the whole Tumblr fandom that actually exists. His works are close to 200 years old, by the way, and still amazing.

Brothers Karamazov is an amazing psychological exploration of character because it showcases three terrible yet very common mental illnesses: the saviour complex (Alyosha), the superiority complex (Ivan) and being an extrovert (Dmitri) 😔
