I just finished playing both portals, adored them both, and decided to draw something! I had fun with the colors, but i feel like i could've come up with some more interesting composition? meh, i like it anyways. Fun to draw! I imagine myself redrawing it One day in the far future. (get it? joke!)

so im finally playing portal and i just beat portal 1 and am abt 6 hrs into portal 2 and this is what i have gathered so far
i made more stupid shit because drawing makes me so mad
this is THE chelldos dynamic. i dont take criticism
so I’m reading lord of the rings and I just had so dumb a thought that it circled back around to cool. Chell is like the ring of power. She is incredibly powerful. Her going outside is being thrown in mount doom (leaving apature). She is a force of nature and willpower. Her leaving would bring the end of apature as we know it, ending human testing (yes I know that atlas and p-body test but that’s not exactly the same) that’s similar to how the elves had to go west without the ring. Wheatley is Isildur and Gollum, someone who could have given away the ring but didn’t, and whose hoarding it brought his own destruction. GLaDOS is both Frodo and Sauron, someone who finally let the ring go despite their attachment (yes I know Frodo didn’t give it up willingly but it’s close enough) and the person who made the ring the way it is.
look. Your Chell can pine and forgive GLaDOS. That is fine. Chelldos shippers are my allies and friends.
HOWEVER
my Chell can’t sleep at night because she’s scared she will wake up in testing. My Chell has trust issues and is taking time to heal. My chell will never go back to apature, even facing down an armada of combine ships. Because she won. She got out of there. It never even occurs to her that GLaDOS loves her, because she simply cannot understand her. My Chell would run far and fast from a safe human settlement if P-body and Atlas showed up.
we can, however, agree that GLaDOS is pineing like an evergreen tree.

Summary: Chell is living in a human settlement guarded by the Resistance. It’s a nice, quiet life that’s easy to enjoy after a lifetime of Aperture. But when GLaDOS promises the resistance weapons to use against the Combine, she gets plunged back in to a world she thought she left behind. GLaDOS says she wants a missing boat back, but Caroline doubts her intentions…
Chapters are about 2000 words, but I’m working on making that longer. Chapter 5 will be out really soon! Featuring unrequited Chelldos so don’t read if that’s not your jam :)

One thing that would have been funny is if in Portal 1 and 2, there was a percent chance in the game that going through an emancipation grill would start slowly killing you and blind you to varying levels. Sure it would have been annoying for speed runs, but there is also a percent chance that Chapter 8 of Portal 2 is completely stopped at the very beginning by two franken-turrets managing to press the button.
