Hey :). I have a question - and i bet you already answered it before - but i saw you describe luke as very similar to vader/anakin. And ... now im wondering, why? I mean ... i dont see a lot of parallels. Maybe im just blind. Sorry to ask :/ ! And i hope youre having a wonderful day!

Luke is compared to Vader/Anakin throughout the entire OT, both in dialogue and visuals. Most powerfully, there’s Luke’s vision of his head inside Darth Vader’s helmet when he chooses aggression (as he often does), and Luke striking Vader down in ROTJ and slicing off his hand, exactly as Vader did to him in ESB, then staring at his robot hand and realizing he’s in the very act of turning into Vader. This is a real danger. But rather than disassociating himself from his father in response, Luke chooses to align himself with him at a deeper level–his father Anakin Skywalker, a dedicated Jedi and free man–in his moment of triumph. That ultimate victory has at its very core a self-affirming version of the phrase repeated throughout the movies: like his/my father.
