But feelings are scary...

Love.

It always scared you. The only idea of it made you afraid, an uneasy feeling spreading through your body making it numb. To others it may not even be that big of a deal, natural emotion that most people can experience without issue, but to you it was difficult. You always thought of it as something out of your reach, mysterious and unsolvable case that you're not able to figure out. And it scared you, not knowing what exactly that feeling was, how to acknowledge it or what to do after that.

Until you met him.

The one and only genius mutant ninja turtle - Donatello Hamato.

You met him and his brothers by pure accident, going to a store for something you can't even remember anymore, where April just got her new job. You and her probably both hoped for it to be normal day, you not having to tire yourself anymore after a long day and her to not loose a job again. Though, apparently, none of you had any luck that day when a mutant hippo decided to destroy exactly this one shop. Why? You haven't thought of asking about that when on the scene appeared four more mutants, turtles this time.

After the whole event you were politely asked (and kinda threatened) to just pretend to never saw them, you also remember April muttering romething about not being able to have a one normal day, but you were to fascinated with them that forgetting everything wasn't even in the picture.

That's how you found yourself spending most of the time with April and the turtles. You were on good terms with everyone, even their dad, but most of your time was passed in the lab beside the softshell turtle.

You always liked to listen to Donnie when he expressively talked about his inventions, showing you each one of them and explaining how they worked. The passion and commitment he put into his tech were so fascinating, it always had you captivated.

You hoped you could tell him all that if only you weren't so scared.

And that's precisely what you told Mikey who was now sitting across form you in your room.

The youngest of the brothers, despite his carefree behavior, was very attentive to everything and everyone around him. That's why he was the first to notice change in his brother's and yours actions around each other, him being more considerate of your emotions and safety, and you making sure he rested and ate enough. That visible spark between you two and lack of any moves form both sides, made him take the matter into his own hands.

The box turtle already talked with Donnie about his feelings, trying to make him understand and accept that he likes you. It took some effort because the purple turtle was in so much denial that Mikey thought he'll need to take drastic measures (fourtanetly it didn't came to that).

And now it was your turn to encounter Dr. Feelings.

"Hmm..." the turtle nodded to himself looking up from his colorful notebook, pencil pressing against his bottom lip. "I understand that you're scared. Sometimes, feelings can be scary and overwhelming and make you feel like you want to just hide in your shell and never go out."

You only nodded lowering your gaze.

"But don't worry! That's why I'm here." he send you sunshine bright smile. "I know several different techniques that could help you with adapting to this feeling and making it less scary! Of course, it can't be done in one day, but we'll take it slow so you don't get overwhelmed."

Looking up at Mikey, you sent him a small smile. You were really grateful for his help.

After several sessions with Dr. Feelings (that really helped both of you), he decided you were ready for a talk. Non of you knew that the other also had problems with confessing, Mikey only briefly mentioned Donnie on your session and vise versa, so you we're shocked seeing the softshell turtle sitting on your usual spot during meetings with his younger brother.

"Uh, Michael?" Donnie looked at his brother unsure of the situation.

"Okay, guys!" Mikey sat you across form the other turtle. "I'm really glad I was able to gather you both here today. Before I'll let you sort everything out, I want you to know Dr. Feelings is really proud of you both!"

He reached to the pocket of the sweater he was wearing and pulled out two smiley face stickers, sticking one of them on the fabric covering your front and the other in the same place but on Donnie's purple hoodie. You and the turtle looked at each other confused.

"Now, I'll leave you to talk!" you tried to protest but before you opened your mouth, he was already gone.

Awkward silence filled the room.

"Hey-"

"So-"

"You first, sorry-"

"No, you-"

"..."

"..."

You both avoided each other's gaze. You took a deep breath.

"I guess we both had some issues then." a dry chuckle left your lips.

"Yeah..." he replied quietly. "If-... If you're not ready to talk then we don't have to. I'm certainly very nervous as well and talking about feelings isn't my thing-"

"No! No, it's okay. I-" you slightly lifted your gaze observing as the turtle nervously fiddled with his fingers. "I don't want all Mikey's work to go to waste. He did make effort to talk to us so..."

Donnie hummed in understanding not knowing what actually he was supposed to say. You took another deep breath trying to relax at least a little bit, following Mikey's advices. Still, an uneasy feeling started to build up in your stomach.

"I can start if you want?" you heard another humm telling you to continue. "Well... I guess you already figured out that I like you, romantically. I wanted to tell you sooner but... I was afraid. Of the feeling and what it took with it. I'm still trying to figure everything out, but I'm willing to try if- if you're also willing to..."

Suddenly, you started to feel shame. Was it really good to talk about it now? Isn't it to soon? Or maybe you were completely wrong and he didn't even felt the same?

"I..." you could hear anxiety in Donnie's voice, making you lift your gaze at his face. He was looking at his linked fingers, dark hue covering his cheeks making his purple markings seem to glow.

"I know I'm not very acknowledged with the concept of feelings, nor do I know how to express them, but I'll try." he looked up at you, but not quite meeting your eyes. "I also have romantic feelings for you. I know how you feel and I'm willing to work on them, even though I'm not fully understanding them yet."

You could swear your heart stopped beating for a second, even if the turtle told you straightforwardly that he likes you, it still felt surreal. You knew well enough about Donnie's problems with the verbal expressions of his feelings, and the fact how much effort he was putting in talking about it, made you admire him even more.

If he could do that, then you can too.

Soft smile made its way on your lips, the slight movement caught the reptile's attention making him fully look at you. He could see the shine of hope in your eyes mixed with adoration at which his cheeks darkened more than before. His heart quickened and weird feeling swirled in his stomach. After his 'lessons' with the youngest of brothers, Donnie was finally able to put a name to the foreign emotion he experienced every time while being beside you.

Shifting forward, he lifted his hand and put it on your own, squeezing it lightly. Smile similar to your own graced his face, this time your cheeks started to feel warmer.

"We'll figure it out together." not being able to form any words, you nodded sheepishly.

He really was in love, wasn't he?

"I cannot believe that Don Ton, out of everyone, is the first to be with someone!" the blue-masked twin threw his hands in the air with defeat.

"Well, if you want to, I can sign you up on Dr. Feelings sessions-"

The dotted turtle only chuckled knowing that his brother won't be able to escape for to long.

━━━━━━━━ DONNIE DARKO had been a quiet guy in (name)'s eyes. They'd never particularly heard him speak, but he'd also never really heard them speak. When (name) entered his English class one tuesday afternoon, Donnie was enticed by them.

Their enigma floated through the school, and before they'd made friends, (name) had a reputation. They were oblivious to this, but that didn't mean Donnie was. He'd heard kids say that (name) had been expelled for a fight that sent a kid to the hospital at their old school.

He believed heavily it was a lie. (name), his (name) wasn't capable of that - thats why he was determined to weasle his way into their life.

It started three weeks later, nearing the middle of their school year, Donnie had manifested their partnership through a school project. It didn't take him long to realize how odd he was being, but somehting inside of him found it to be normal - in his eyes, it was okay.

If it meant he was getting closer to (name), he believed it to be okay.

The first day of the project, Donnie had invited (name) over, letting them into his private space - his bedroom. Not a lot of his friends got to see his room, but as he watched their eyes float through his room, he was okay with them in here.

By the time they'd had their second day for their project, Donnie found his obsession fading into a genuine crush. How would they react to his problems? Would they run away screaming when he told them about Frank?

(name) wasn't like that when he told them, they understood him, and they never dared to poke and prod at the fact that something was wrong with him. They treated Donnie normally, and he was genuinely head over heels for them.

They’d adjusted to this newfound friendship within days, considering how close (name) and Donnie were able to get within days. The new duo had easily passed their project, being the only two to do so. However, they found themselves hanging out more and more after school.

After some time, the time for (name) to sleepover at the Darko household came. Donnie warned them not to be alarmed when he wasn’t in the bed beside them, and they understood - nodding instantly. They’d still worry about him, but they wouldn’t necessarily be so worried they’d call the police.

One night, before he disappeared, he found himself holding (name). They’d fallen asleep like that, their head resting half on his arm and half on his pillow, hand holding his arm that wrapped around their waist.

He’d found himself awake after a while, in the middle of the golf course. Soon enough, he’d made it home, and trudged along to hide away in (name)s arms. They were still asleep by time he collapsed atop them, burying himself into the crook of their neck, arms wrapping securely around them.

“You okay, Donnie?” (name) sleepily asked, running their hand through his hair. That soothed him further, soon (name) found themself with a sleeping Donnie in their arm. They really had no problem with it, soon adjusted and fast asleep themself.

It was a common occurrence for nights to end this way. Neither really cared about the obscurities of what they considered “friendship”, so they continued to do as they did.

(name) also had a quirk where they were mostly understanding, caring, and loving when it came to fights, the two worked through each problem bit by bit, and they eventually had a smooth friendship.

On this particular night, Donnie lay across (name)s chest, breathing in their cologne/perfume. He was calm, his mind was quiet, and their hands floated through his hair, down his back, expanding across his shoulders, and ending back in his hair.

He was calm, holding her so tightly it was almost insane. This was his comfort, his home, his domains. No one could take this away from him, no one could take away his (name).

They didn’t mind it either, and they felt their heart begin to ache for him through long periods of time where they didn’t talk and hangout every millisecond of the day.

Deciding then and now, they’d get closer with Donnie, and maybe eventually fall in love. Donnie wasn’t opposed either, he was already head over heels for his best friend.

“Hey, I’m Marcus.” he was the fancy new kid, a phony accent to mask his boring interior and personality. Marcus had fallen in love with (name) upon first sight, which bothered both (name), and Donnie.

Donnie hated Marcus. He made it known all the time, but (name) pulled the same antics, melting into Donnie’s arms, chest, lap, anything, whenever Marcus was nearby.

“That guy you’re always with,” (name) was getting lunch, sliding her tray across the metal tubes that formed a sort of resting sill, “are you two dating?” he finished his question, accepting the apple from the lunch lady.

“Yeah, wasn’t it obvious?” (name) snickered, lying straight to his face. What they hated was how real their statement sounded - were they really really into Donnie?

They were. They absolutely were. Nothing could be done about it, is what every one of their friends thought before they’d finally asked each other out. They thought about their friends one night while basking in the silence that sat between the two.

They toned down the PDA, but upped it in private areas. Donnie was always a clingy guy, no matter how scary he seemed in real life. But that was their Donnie, and they loved him.

you couldn’t deny your boyfriend that, stepping into his room five minutes later with water, medicine, and his favorite movie. when donnie looked at you, he looked ready to cry.

“oh, baby.” you softly smiled, setting the medicine, the water, and your bag on the floor. donnie just held his arms out, he didn’t need to say anything.

you knew what he wanted.

sliding into the bed, you pulled donnie’s head onto your chest and began running your hands through his hair. it was soft, and you could feel the tension in his body disappear as you continued.

“you wanna take this medicine and turn on a movie and sleep, baby? you have to take the medicine anyways.” you used a soft tone, rubbing a hand down his face to caress his jaw. he grumbled into your skin, tickling you.

“it’s the drinking stuff, baby.” you were probably overusing the word, but it didn’t matter to you. donnie sat up slightly as you poured the grape flavored medicine into the small cup that had come with the container. donnie slowly took it from you as you prepared his water for him, placing it to his lips as your hand found its way back into his hair.

“there you go, good job baby.” you kissed his lips gently, before letting him lay back down on your chest. he was out like a light eventually, and you stayed in the same spot, running your hands through his hair as he slept, up until you yourself had fallen asleep.

when youre especially loud he communicates that and if its something you cant control hell put on his headphones and text you so you know hes not ignoring you but also keeping himself from getting overstimulated

he has a little bit of a resting bitch face too so he gets that even if you look upset youre not most of the time

hes usually pretty chill and is blessed with patience when it comes to you so its harder for him to make you lose your temper, even if its short

he also works out with you alot so youre both pretty compatible when you train as well

Y/N yawns as he steps out of bed and goes to start his morning routine and his daily visit to his boyfriend Donnie in the turtles lair. As y/n walked down the streets of New York he someone or some turtle wearing his famous purple hoodie. " Donnie!" Y/n exclaims as your give him a bone crushing hug.

Donnie chuckled tiredly as he hugged you back with just as much love "good morning to you to little lavender." Y/n blushed taking in the realization of the nickname he had been called. Meanwhile Donnies face depanned in embarrassment "did i really just say that out loud, god I'm to tired for this."

Y/n smiled and looked up at Donnie "Well then my evil scientist shall we go get coffee to cure you of this tiredness?" Donnie smiled and shook his head at y/ns silly speech. Y/n stood up from Donnie and took Donnies hand and the two boyfriends went to the nearest coffee shop.

Meanwhile back at the lair Raph was standing in the kitchen wondering where the heck his brother is since he hasn't gotten his daily cup of coffee yet. "Has anyone seen Donnie anywhere?" Raph asked. His brothers shook their heads, after an hour or so all the bothers turned towards the entrance of the lair from their spot in the living room as they heard the laughter of what sounded like Donnie and Y/n. Mikey shot out of his bean bag "Y/N where have you been and you to Donnie we were worried about you!" You opened your mouth to respond but then Leo cut you off.

"Donnie how dare you abandoned your own brethren for Y/n" Donnies face deadpanned while y/n was trying to hold in his laughter.

"Of course I would he's my boyfriend so why wouldn't your annoying anyways Nardo." All the turtles held shocked faces "Wait you guys didn't know that?" Donnie asked they shook their heads. Donnie sighed and muttered under his breath I'm surrounded by dum dums. Y/N was laughing as he got pulled to Donnies room.

Once they got there they heard Leo yell to Raph "YOU OWE ME 10 DOLLARS" The boyfriends both chuckled as they continued with their day of ranting and cuddling with each other.

Mikey had noticed something stange about his brother for the past few weeks so Mikey decided to spy on him

And as we all know Mikey that didn't go so well he tried to follow Donnie out of the lair to find out where he had been going every two days

But sadly he couldn't ever get the chance to go without forgetting Donnie had even left

He tried to ask April what was going on but she responded with a jealous face and saying that she didn't know anything

Giving up frustrated and impatient he decided to follow Donnie this time right after

Once he was on the rooftop behind Donnie he noticed it was an apartment complex and DONNIE WAS CLIMBING DOWN IT???

Mikey knew he had to find out what was going on now

Mikey jumped on to the rooftop Donnie was just on and looked down, and he noticed that Donnie was knocking on a window

Then all of a sudden he came running out of his lab only for Raph to see that he had his goggles on and was clearly rushing

To Raphs surprise he saw Donnie kiss Y/N cheek as Donnie dragged them to the lab

Meanwhile Raph was sitting in the living room with a shocked look on his face "Well I didn't expect that to happen." He said.

Leo

Leo had noticed that y/n had entered the lair but he didn't pay much mind to it since he wan envoked in his mission planning

When he had noticed that Donnie hadn't brought the gadget he thought was good for the mission, but Leo shrugged it off and continued to work on his mission plans

After a while he decided to check with splinter to see if his mission was good enough to exacute the following night

After he got done talking with Splinter about his plan he was starting to get worried that Donnie hadn't come with his gadget yet again do he decided to check on him

Once he entered Donnies little lab room he noticed that he wasn't there so he went to go check his bedroom

He was about to ask Donnie if he was ok but immediately quieted himself down when he noticed that y/n and Donnie were sound asleep cuddling

Leo smiled softly happy that his younger brother found someone to love

I apologize for this taking so long my motivation ran away but here it is!✨ (I had major burnout before finishing this and publishing it so i deeply apologize for the very very long wait

School has been really hard for you lately and you needed a very long break. The bad thing is, is that you can't just leave your turtle boyfriend alone without telling him. So you pack your bags and go to say farewell to your boyfriend. Then head of to (your place of choice)

Donnie would be very sa if you left but would try to play it off like everything is fine (poor bby :()

Anyways while you were gone his brothers knew not to tease him so insted he just kept himself really busy with gadgets and missions

He tried text you one the T-phone but decided not to since he didn't want to bother

When you actually came back he didn't even notice since he was in his lab till some turtle said your name he rushed out of his lab seeing that you were already headed there

He ran up and hugged you as tight as he could happy to see you finally back

Raph

Raph to say was a little angry when he heard that you were leaving for a vacation but silently expected your break

While you were gone he worked and trained relentlessly to get his mind off of your absence

His brothers were surprised to say the least that Raph was acting like this since you've only been gone for around a week

A few hours before you got back Raph sat the complicating wether school was the real reason you left or was it because of him

Once you finally got back he was closed off trying not to bother you letting you say hi to everyone before him since they all ran to greet you as soon as you walked in the lair

When you noticed that Raph wasn't there to greet you, you excused yourself from everyone else and ran to Raph and gave him a big hug

Raphs green eyes widen before he tightly wraps his arms around you welcoming you home

One the last day of your break Leo made everything was organized and ready to go so you wouldn't come back stressful

It had been a habit for as long as you could remember

But despite what certain people may have thought you really only used nicknames as a way to show affection to your friends 

So when you had become friends with April and eventually met the turtles this habit of yours persisted on throughout your friendship 

But this habit had really only caught the attention of one specific turtle 

Donnie

You and Donnie hit it off immediately, you found you admired the purple clad turtle for his scientific intellect and he found you to be one of the only people that could get a genuine laugh out of him

“So um are you okay?” you asked hesitatinly, worried you might have upset him earlier

“Then Mikey came in here and…” he mumbled glaring at the ground 

You suddenly understood exactly what he meant, it was like everything had suddenly clicked

Since he goes on patrols and does a lot of training with his brothers, even meditates. He doesn't have time to sleep, so you have to make him sleep.

But, when he gets in bed with you.... he just turns into puddy.

This boi will stay up all night working in his lab.

So go up to him rub his shoulders release the stress from working in the lab all day and night.

If you get him in bed it's a miracle. He will want to work on his experiments if it will stop shredder.

First give him a bath so he doesn't get oil and other gross chemical thing on the clean purple silk sheets, and snuggle with him in bed.

maybe watch a movie on his shell phone and finally go to bed.

he will snuggle on your chest and watch the movie with you.

Kiss his forehead and take his purple band off his head so he can be more comfortable.

But you will wake up to a cold bed. But, he will leave a note on the bed side table saying were he is.

Mikey:

He plays a lot of video game, so you can expect him to play them all night.

maybe lay in his lap and take the controlor out of his hands.

(first clean off his bed first, maybe give it a wash before hand.)

let him lay on you, you may get startled by him because he will blow bubbles on the fat of your stomach.

He will always be happy when he's around you no matter what.

So when you both fall asleep on each other he will snuggle on your forever so be sure to be ready of that.

You won't wake up to a cold bed but a warm one. He's like Raph and will stay in bed with you all day.
