A/N: I can't stop thinking about Nothing Else Matters being Eddie's song with his partner so..here we are lol.
You and Eddie had been together for around 5 years now, and when Metallica announced their Wherever We May Roam tour where they were playing in Evansville, a few towns over - Eddie leapt at the chance to buy you guys tickets as an anniversary present.
You were counting down the days and just couldn’t wait. You had both booked holiday from your jobs. A few of Eddie’s friends were coming too - but separately.
-
When the day rolled around, Eddie was full of anxiety. You had agreed to drive so he could relax and calm down on the way. You had spent hours the night before making up a cassette full of your favourite Metallica tracks.
The whole car journey, Eddie was fidgeting, playing with his rings or hair. You eventually placed your hand on his thigh to stop it shaking up and down. “Hey, it’s okay. We’re gonna have an amazing time tonight!” You say with a grin. He smiles at you and nods, grabbing his sunglasses out of the glove compartment, placing them on and starting to dramatically sing along to your tape.
That changes when Nothing Else Matters comes on - your song. He goes deadly silent and starts biting at his nails again. You frown, looking over at him. “What’s wrong? You good?” You ask, raising an eyebrow at him. He just shrugs in response, causing you to groan in response, completely oblivious to why he would be feeling so anxious.
Eventually you pull into the parking lot of the venue. “So, I’ve got a load of cash on me to basically buy out the merchandise? I was thinking if they have a flag we could get it and put it up in our apartment?” You say with a smile, undoing your seatbelt and turning the engine off.
Eddie glances at you with a grin and nods. “Sounds perfect.” He smiles and gets out of the car, pulling his jeans up, grabbing the tickets out of his jacket pocket. The two of you walk over to the merchandise stand, hand in hand. You walk away with every t-shirt, a few patches, the flag and a couple of glasses for your apartment. You quickly run them back to the car and head over to entry.
You had standing tickets, and were able to get fairly close to the barrier - finding Eddie’s friends already camped there. As a group you took it in turns to buy the drinks until the concert begun.
As the opening notes to Enter Sandman begun, everyone around you collectively lost their shit. You grabbed onto Eddie’s hands tightly and begun jumping up and down, headbanging and singing at the top of your lungs. Eddie is gripping your hands just as tightly, singing along loudly too.
As a group, the guys all look after you, ensuring nobody fucks with you. You’re just so overwhelmed with the environment, you don’t even really notice just how anxious and clammy Eddie is.
Twelve songs and little solos pass and the intro to Nothing Else Matters begins. You immediately get goosebumps, grabbing your lighter out of your pocket and joining the entire stadium with swaying them along to the music. As soon as James begins to sing, you immediately start crying - nothing beats hearing YOUR song live. After this song was released, Eddie spent weeks learning it on guitar to play for you. The two of you sung this together a lot.
When the small guitar solo begun, Eddie stepped away from you, all of the people around you stepping back too, giving you guys space. Eddie got down on one knee, looking up at you, tears in his eyes. “Y/N, will you marry me?” He asks, having to yell to get you to hear him, tears starting to spill down his cheeks. You immediately almost fall to the floor in shock, sobbing even more. “Oh my fucking God…” You yell back, nodding like crazy. “YES I will marry you!” You cry. Eddie immediately gets up, placing the ring on your finger, pulling you in for a massive kiss.
When you guys pull apart, the entire group around you is cheering and pouring beer on you guys in celebration. You just laugh in response, kissing Eddie again. Eddie grins against your lips, before lifting you up and pulling you up onto his shoulders.
You immediately grin and start waving your hand around for everyone around you to see, cackling as you do so. James actually notices you waving your hand around and the glint of your ring just after his solo at the end of the song. “Hey, looks like we’ve got an engagement in the crowd!” He shouts into the microphone, earning a massive roar from the entire crowd. “Congratulations guys!” He yells, throwing a pick of his and a pick from Kirk towards you. No one around you tries to lunge for it, just allowing you to grab it. You catch it and blow the band a kiss. You look down at Eddie, who can barely believe his eyes. They immediately break into For Whom the Bell Tolls, which causes you to lose your shit yet again.
The rest of the night is a massive blur for you, you can’t believe it. You’re engaged, and to the love of your life, Eddie Munson. It happened your favourite bands’ concert and they noticed you. You’re almost in a complete and utter state of shock.
After the concert ends, the two of you linger behind everyone, waiting for it to empty out before attempting to leave. Eddie picks you up and puts you on his back, giving you a piggyback out, sensing your legs are probably aching. His are too but you are far more important to him.
When you reach the car, he opens the passenger door for you, letting you hop off his back and get in. He grabs a blanket from the backseat and wraps it around you before putting your seatbelt on for you. He gets into the drivers seat and puts his seatbelt on. “I love you so much.” You mumble sleepily. Eddie grins at you, leaning over and kissing your forehead. “I love you too.” He smiles.
After an hour or so, you end up back at your apartment. Eddie lets you wake up properly first before you guys head up to your apartment. He picks you up bridal style, a huge grin on his face. You have the bag of merchandise resting on top of you. Eddie unlocks the door, kicking it open and then shut behind the two of you. You throw the merchandise down on your sofa. “I can’t believe you want to marry me.” You say, running your thumb across his cheeks. Eddie can’t help but roll his eyes in response. “Don’t be silly. I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else.” He smiles, pulling you in for a gentle kiss.

RIBBONS, CHEERLEADERS, EDDIE
PAIRING: eddie munson x fem reader
SUMMARY: eddie is surprised to see a hawkins high tigers uniform in a heavy metal shop. but he’s even more surprised to see it belongs to hawkins high’s golden girl y/n l/n.
WARNING: fluff sm sm sm fluff. THIS IS CO CUTE OMG!2:!:7: creds to the original gif owners! idk their @ cuz i find most of these gifs on pinterest and they aren’t linked :((
eddie walks the streets of hawkins with his hands in his pockets. he’s wearing his hellfire shirt with his jean jacket. his skinny black ripped jeans. it’s the same thing he wore last week on tuesday. but it doesn’t really matter.
he looks at the shops, none of them seem to fit his style and taste. not that there are any to begin with in hawkins. it’s a shit hole made for stupid suburban rich families. not for people like eddie.
in the midst of his little breakdown of how shitty the town is, one shop catches his eye. he’s never seen this shop before. he walks a bit faster. his eyes widen. slayer heavy metal shop? holy shit. holy shit.
his face brightens up. there’s no way. a heavy metal shop in hawkins? what the actual fuck? he stops right infront of it. he looks at the inside from the big glass windows. holy shit it’s sick. there’s everything there. t-shirts. vinyls. posters. cassettes. jackets.
his eyes travel around the shop. his eyes widen. he stumbles.a hawkins high uniform. a cheer uniform to be exact. he stares. your hair is up in a pony tail. a dark green ribbon tying it together. your wearing white knee socks with white sneakers. he recognises you. it’s y/n. what are you doing at a heavy metal shop?
he pushes the door open. you turn around, your skirt twirling with you. a smile on your face. “ e-eddie?” you blurt out in surprise. “ oh my would you look at that! you remember me!” eddie says his eyes wandering around the shop. you smile, “ yeah of course why wouldn’t i?” you say folding a motörhead t-shirt.
“ i’m surprised you remember me y/n.” he says flipping through a bunch of dio vinyls. you laugh. eddie walks around the shop, “ you know, i am obviously not the one to judge people but uh. what are you doing here y/n?” he says shoving his hands in his pockets. you turn around crossing your hands, “ what do you mean?” you ask tilting your head to the side with a smile. eddie laughs grabbing a mötley crüe cd. “ you know your a cheerleader what would you be doing in a heavy metal shop?” he confesses turning the cd around to look at the price. you giggle, “ what your saying is i don’t fit in?” you mumble smiling.
“ no no totally not. it’s just you know you dont-“ you cut him off. “ fit in? i know. believe or not i like heavy metal.” you giggle looking through patches. eddie walks up to the cashier leaning on it, “ so let me get this straight. y/n l/n the most popular cheerleader of hawkins high works at a heavy metal shop.”
“ correct.” you mumble turning to look at eddie. “ is that a bad thing?” you ask smiling.
eddie quickly shakes his head. “ no no no totally not. it’s just- your not what i thought you’d be like.” he says grabbing a metallica patch. “ mean and scary?” you giggle walking to the cashier. eddie tilts his head to the side, “ yeah well i actually kind of thought you’d be kinda mean and scary too.” you mumble biting your lower lip. eddie chuckles, “ i certainly look the part.”
you laugh. “ so do i, i mean i look like your typical mean cheerleader.” you joke biting your nails. eddie covers his smile with his hair. “ who works at a heavy metal shop.” he adds. you smile nodding.
you look at the patch he’s holding. “ i have that one on my jacket.” you say looking up at eddie. he giggles, “ you listen to metallica?” he questions quietly. you nod giggling, “ yeah i do.”
he smiles again. he’s surprised. and shocked.
and happy? your so easy to talk to. no one from hellfire is gonna believe him if he tells them he saw y/n l/n in a heavy metal shop. but he also doesn’t wanna tell them. he wants it to be a little secret between you and him. how is it so easy for you to make him smile. how are you so easy to converse with. he feels warm. really warm right now. he feels secluded from the world. and that’s a good thing right now.
“ then i‘ll take this one.” he hands you the patch. you look at his denim vest, “ do you want me to sew it on?” you ask looking back at him. “ oh i wouldn’t wanna steal your look l/n.” he whispers furrowing his eyebrows jokingly. you roll your eyes.
he takes off his vest placing it on the counter. “ i put mine on the right side. do you want yours on the left?” you mumble opening a drawer, grabbing a sewing needle. “ i don’t really mind.” he says shoving his hands in his pockets. “ i’ll put it on the right side so we can match.” you mumble smiling.
his heart just melted a bit. heat rises in his cheeks. his ears get warm. he quickly looks down hiding his face.
“ all done!” you exclaim looking at eddie, he looks at his denim vest. “ oh that’s sick.” he chuckles. “ you like it?” you question smiling.
“ yeah of course i do.” he says admiring the patch. you feel your cheeks start to heat up. you cough looking around the shop. “ it’s uhm- it’s for free.” you choke on your words. he looks at you in confusion.
“ your cool eddie.” you mumble playing with the hem of your skirt. eddie chuckles, “ your cool too y/n.” he whispers gently grabbing his denim jacket putting it on. “ so uh are we just gonna go back to not talking to each other during school?” he says putting his hands in his pockets. you giggle. “ why?”
“ because i’m a freak l/n.” he teases biting his nails, you look at his rings. “ so am i munson.” you giggle biting your lower lip. “ you know what- here.“ eddie looks at you.
you remove the green ribbon from your hair. your hair falls down.
eddie stares at you. you look so beautiful right now. your eyes are beautiful. your hair is falling in slow motion for him. time froze. he examines your face, your eyes are sparkling. your smiling. you have the cutest most adorable smile on earth. his eyes bore into you. he can stare at you for hours and hours and not get bored. something soft snaps him out of his trance. he looks down to see you tying the green ribbon around his wrist.
“ here. if your so sure we won’t talk to each other at school. or if u forget to talk to me, just look down at your wrist. there’s your reminder munson.” you giggle tying the ribbon.
“ you deserve a reminder too then. for when your too busy with the shooting balls into laundry basket weirdos. with your little pom poms.” he reaches for his back pocket, he grabs his black hankerchief. you laugh tilting your head to the side. “ what is it?” you ask smiling. “ your wrist please?”
you extend your wrist to him, he ties his hankerchief around your wrist. you blush again. he’s holding your wrist. and holy shit your skin is soft. so so so soft. he doesn’t wanna let go. he double ties it just to be able to feel your soft skin against his. “ there we go.” he chuckles.
“ oh that’s sick!” you exclaim looking at your wrist. eddie smiles. “ yeah? you think so?” he whispers gently. you nod smiling. “ then i’ll see you at school freak.” eddie says turning around . “ i’ll see you freak.” you laugh. eddie opens the door turning around to look at you once more. you wave. he waves back. “ gosh your adorable.” he mumbles under his breath turning around to leave.

Y/n honestly hated wearing the itchy Hawkins cheerleading uniform. But she enjoyed cheerleading but she mainly did it to hang out with her best friend Chrissy. The two had known eachother since they were in diapers.
But lately Y/n was getting fed up with how the other girls treated people worse and worse everyday. Not to mention the Jock’s being assholes 100% of the time.
Y/n was staying later at the school finishing her homework, she didn’t like bringing it home. Stressful school work shouldn’t be brought home, home should be a peaceful safe haven from school hell. Very few people were left at the school, mainly a few club’s. Once Y/n finished with her work she packed up and was ready to walk home.
Hellfire club had ended a few minutes ago and as Eddie watched as his club members left. But what really caught his interest was the cheerleading outfit that exited the school. He knew exactly who it was.
“Well, well, well do my eyes deceive me or is that Y/n Y/l/n.” Eddie spoke walking over to the Y/h/c-ed girl.
“Hello Eddie. Did Hellfire just get out?” Y/n laughed, she always found Eddie’s ways to be amusing.
“It did, but why are you here so late?” he answered but he was curious as to why she was still at school.
“Oh uh, homework. I don’t like doing it at home.” Y/n told him as she adjusted her bag on her shoulder.
“I get that. I mean I don’t really do my homework but I get it.” Eddie nodded along. Eddie justered to his van so they could sit down to talk.
“I wish I didn’t do mine.” Y/n let out an airy laugh.
“The great Y/n doesn’t want to do her work? Why’s that?” Eddie offered his arm. They walk to his car and he open’s the back so they can sit.
“I hate it. Homework I think is stupid. If they can’t teach it to us in school then we shouldn’t have to bring it home.” She tells him honestly, sitting down next to him.
“Then why do you do it?” He asked curious if she hated it so much why continue to do it.
Y/n shrugg’s. “Have to. If I want to stay on the cheerleading squad.”
“Is cheerleading really worth it?” Eddie knew what he said could be a sensitive subject but he had a point.
“You mean is being popular really worth it?” Y/n laughed at him with raised brows and a hint of teasing in her eye’s. But she also wanted to give him a serious answer so she shook her head as she answered. “I don’t do it for the popularity.” Y/n has never cared about being popular. She actually really hates it and hate’s how the popular kid’s treat everyone.
“Then why?” Now he was intrigued even more.
“For Chrissy. We’ve been best friends forever so when she wanted to join I encouraged her. Then she wanted me to do it with her, so I did.” Y/n sighed explaining it to him.
“But?...” Eddie could sense there was more, something she was leaving out.
“I hate, absolutely hate how the other cheerleaders treat people, how those stupid jock’s treat people! Not to mention the outfit is stupid and fucking itchy!” Y/n exclaimed raising her voice and waving her hands around for enphise.
“There she is! There’s the girl I remember!” Eddie jumped up clapping his hands with a huge smile on his face. He points at her. “I’ve missed her.”
“Me too.” Y/n gave him a smile, the two had been fairly close till high school.
“I get your her best friend and she’s yours but if you're this miserable then maybe you should quit. If Chrissy’s truly your best friend she’ll understand and not treat you any differently.” Eddie tries to give her advice.
“You're right.” Y/n nodded to his words, it is true what he’s saying and she’s thought of it before.
“Hey umm, do you want a ride?” Eddie offered, he doesn’t want their talk to end. It’s the first time they’ve talked in years. He didn’t want it to end yet.
“I’d love that.” Y/n smiled at him accepting his offer.
“Hey Eddie? Would you wanna hang out this weekend?” Y/n asked as the two moved around the van and got in the front seats. She was nervous he’d say no but she hoped he didn’t. Y/n had missed him. Sure there was an age difference between them but not enough to bother the other and were in the same grade now due to Eddie being held back.
“Uh, y-yeah. I-I’d love to.” Eddie was shocked but extremely happy that she wanted to spend more time together.
The two talked on the way to Y/n’s house, catching up and just enjoying the other's company.
“Great. See you tomorrow Eddie.” Y/n said as they pulled up to her house and she got out.
“See you tomorrow Y/n.” Eddie smiled, waving at her as she shut the passenger's side door.
Once Y/n was in her house Eddie let out an anxious breath that he didn’t realize he was holding. “Holy fucking shit.” He might have just got his best friend and crush back. What a night.

Y/n sat there driving listening to Will talk about their recent D&D campaign. Y/n was nodding along pretending to understand everything he was talking about, but the truth was she didn’t have a clue. She wished she did, but she didn’t.
“Are you coming tonight? You’ll see what I’m talking about.” Will asked excited that his big sister might come.
“Maybe. I need to talk to someone before I know.” Y/n tells him as they pull up to the school parking lot.
“Okay.” Will answered before leaving for his own middle school as Y/n got out and headed to the high school.
Y/n tried to think of how she was going to ask Eddie Munson to teach her about D&D. He was the only person she could think of that would be able to teach her about it without Will finding out. She eventually settled for slipping a note in his locker to meet up after school.
Eddie got the note and he was confused but also very interested. So after school Eddie went to where the note said to meet.
“Well, well, well not who I expected.” Eddie teased upon seeing who he was meeting.
“Who’d you expect?” Y/n asked nervously biting her nails.
“Not someone whose brother plays the game.” Eddie tells her honestly and he was confused but not disappointed.
“Can I be honest?” Y/n looks at him biting her lip anxiously.
“Go ahead, I'm all ears.” Eddie nods moving to sit down, giving her all his attention.
“I don’t understand a word he says. He talks to me like I do and I nod along and say I know but I don’t.” Y/n’s referring to her little brother and Eddie understood her.
“But you want to.” Eddie concluded with a smile, he found it nice that she wanted to do this for her little brother.
“Yeah.” Y/n let out a breath relieved he understood.
“And you want me to teach you?” Eddie asked, raising a brow pointing to himself.
“Please?” Y/n pleaded.
“Of course princess.” He bowed comically, making Y/n laugh and all the tension disappear.
^ ^ ^
“Eddie, this has been very helpful. Thanks.” Y/n told him after week’s of him teaching her, she was very grateful for his patience and teaching her.
“I’m glad I could help.” Eddie smiled at her. Eddie had enjoyed spending time with Y/n. He would admit that he had dragged out the lessons so they would last longer. And to his credit he dragged it out for 2 months, almost 3.
“Would you wanna go get a milkshake sometime?” Eddie asked meaning up like his uncle told him to when he admitted that he liked Y/n.
“I’d love to.” Y/n smiled at him accepting his offer of what they both knew was a date.
It was the start of a very good relationship.

summary — you and your supernatural boyfriends cuddle on the couch whilst watching a movie
tw/cw — food mention, lmk if there are any more!
an — I’m just so soft for bat eddie and wolf steve, like the idea in general is just too adorable
it was a normal, well, normal for you guys’, Saturday night. cuddling whilst watching a random horror movie that steve managed to get his hands on from family video. it’s been a tough week for all three of you, so what better way to relax than watching a horror movie whilst snuggled with your supernatural boyfriends?
eddie in his bat form, snuggled on your chest, and steve, in his wolf form, snuggled against your thighs. you heard a chirp come from eddie, looking down you saw him giving you the best puppy dogesque eyes he could in his bat form. you knew he was asking for more fruit, even though he’s already had 3 bowls worth.
sighing, you got up from the couch, steve whining in the sudden loss of warmth. you got a small bowl from the cabinet and filled it with blueberries, cut pieces of banana, and cut strawberries. “there, you happy now, you little pain in the neck?” you asked, eddie chirping in affirmation.
you picked up the bowl and shuffled back into the living room, where steve was laying, you noticed he seemed annoyed. sighing internally, you placed the bowl of fruit onto the table for eddie, watching as he flew onto the table and stuffed his face into the bowl.
“I’m sorry stevie, eddie was hungry so I didn’t have much choice” you explained, sitting down next to him and scratching him behind the ears, where you knew he’s sensitive. steves’ mood seemed to lighten up, his tail thumping against the couch.
eventually you ended up falling fast asleep, without meaning to. eddie and steve both turned back into their human forms and carried you to bed, bride style. the night ended with steve snuggling against you and falling asleep whilst eddie just kinda snuggled you and closed his eyes <3

Summary: When your father comes back to town after a year only looking for trouble, you hurry to get your brother to safety. The only person to volunteer to help though, is Eddie Munson, the boy you didn’t really consider your friend, but not an enemy either.
Edward Munson. A senior for the third time in a row. The leader of the Hellfire Club — the club your dear, younger brother Dustin was apart of. Dustin loved him, which you had no idea why. You guessed it was because of their mutual love for dnd, but you definitely didn’t like the guy. When you had met a couple months ago, you got off on the wrong foot. Your impression of the boy was that his little club was nothing more than a way for people to fear him, to see him and run in the other direction. You guessed he liked to be feared, which made you instantly hate him. What kind of high schooler gets off on seeing people scared?
Once your brother joined his club, you were pissed.
“Absolutely not Dustin! There’s no way you’re joining Hellfire! No fucking way.”
“But Mike is too! It’s fine! I don’t understand why you don’t like Eddie!” You scoff, throwing your hands up in the air. “That club is basically a cult! Besides, I just don’t like him. I don’t want you around him. He’s in my science class and he never pays attention and always likes to goof around.”
“Oh like you’re so high and mighty Y/n. You skip class every chance you get! I’m surprised you didn’t get held back along with Eddie!”
You glare at Dustin. “Why do you even like him Dustin?”
“He’s nice to me,” he says almost immediately. “He never treated me any different when I arrived to high school. All those other assholes took one look at me and decided I wasn’t worth their time. Eddie didn’t.” You sigh loudly and think a bit. “Fine,” you finally cave in. Dustin’s smile widens more than you think you’ve ever seen. “But if I feel you’re not safe, I am pulling you out of that club as soon as possible. Mike too. Understand?” He starts jumping up and down, ready to run out of the house and to Mike’s. “Yes! Yes, thank you!”

Rain was splattering outside, and piercing gusts of wind shook the trees above the trailer park. You looked out the window, skies full of crimson, ominous and black.
‘Don’t worry, mum’ you smiled against the telephone head ‘I’ll be at Eddie's for a bit, just until rain calms down’
You sat on the bed, knees pulled to your chest. Fingers twirled the telephone cord as you reassured your mother that nothing would happen to you.
‘Your mum is freaking out that her sweet girl is hanging out with a freak like me?’ Eddie stopped in a door frame, smirking at you.
‘Well, you have quite a reputation, mister’ you grinned, jokingly throwing a pillow at him.
‘Do I now?’ Eddie arched his brow slyly.
‘Yes,’ you licked your lips.
You slowly exhaled, watching Eddie’s eyes draw to your mouth.
Of course, the infamous dungeon master doesn’t have to do anything with those dirty talks about him at school, you think slightly annoyed. Besides being a dealer, Eddie is the sweetest guy you’ve ever known. Get you the best deals ever? Sure, any time. Flattery worked with him he said once, making your cheeks flush rosy red. You were sure it wasn’t just flattery but because Eddie had a heart of gold. Lend you his records for an unlimited period of time? ‘There you go, angel’
Pick your tipsy ass up from one of Steve's (ugh why do you talk with him, princess?) stupid parties and drive you home? ‘Gotta make sure my girl is safe’
Yes, the sweetest guy you knew. The guy you have fallen in love with as your mum claimed but you only dismissed it, shaking your head.
‘So, ready to learn a bit of magic?’ Eddie leans over you, arm reaching out to his guitar laying on the bed. His Hellfire shirt rides up slightly above the buckle of the belt, exposing a sliver of pale skin. A thin line of dark hair hides down his jeans and you swallow heavily, trying to stay composed.
Jesus Christ, he was attractive. A tight knot starts to build up down your belly and you close your eyes for a second.
Eddie climbs up onto the bed, sitting behind you. His legs swing off each side of your tighs, as he brings the guitar to your lap. You feel his firm chest against your back and his crotch pressing into your lower back. He’s warm. You can feel Eddie’s breathing tickling little hairs at the back of your neck as he plants his chin on your shoulder.
‘Babe?’ he calls softly, waking you up from the trance.
You nod, knitting your eyebrows together.
‘Show me, Eds’
Eddie circles his arms around yours, gently positioning your fingers over the guitar neck. His slightly calloused fingers warm against your hands and you watch them bewitched. Eddie guides your fingers to the right music chord, his right-hand covers yours bringing it close to the strings over the belly of his guitar.
You swear you could hear Eddie’s breathing hitch slightly as his chin rested on your shoulder.
‘Like this, y/n’ he whispers quietly from behind you, fingers pressing into yours. It feels carnally intimate, more than anything else you have done with any of the boys, and you gulp down.
‘Like this?’ your voice is hoarse, it breaks mid-sentence when Eddie fidgets, the buckle of his belt pushes into the skin of your bare back.
The hem of your t-shirt rose up, the cold metal of Eddie’s belt sending goosebumps all over your back. You could bet you felt his dick hardening against you.
Goddamit.
‘Mmhh’ Eddie murmurs in approval, lips grazing over your shoulder, as you manage to produce some kind of melody. You shiver, wetness pooling between your thighs. He whimpers slightly when you buckle back, your bottom pushing into his dick. Holy shit.
‘Sorry’ you mumble, turning your head slightly. You accidentally hit his chin, breath heavy over his skin.
‘Fuck’ Eddie clenches his jaw, hard beneath you. He quickly releases you from the position you’ve been prisoned for last minutes, setting the guitar aside.
‘I- I have to piss.’ He lets out a shaky breath, scrambling himself from the bed. You catch his eyes glued to your heavily rising chest, nipples poking from the thin fabric of the shirt you’re wearing. You are hot with desire and somehow you know Eddie needs more than just peeing in the bathroom. The bulge of his dick is tight against the black jeans fabric and his face blushing in pink perfection.
That is when you reach out, grabbing his hand, pulling down. Eddie stumbles almost falling over you.
‘What the fuck?’ He hisses, body crushing yours. His face inches away from yours, he looks bemused when your hands snake around his neck.
‘Eddie..?’ you sound ecstatic. His eyelashes flutter as he watches your lips move as if it was the prettiest sight he’s ever laid his eyes upon.
‘Yes?’ he chuckles softly, towering over you.
Your body is shaking and you only manage to whisper what has been inside your head all evening.
‘If I had told you that I want you, would that be so awful for our friendship?’
There. There it was. Laid down for him. Raw and open. The same as you sprawled down underneath him right now.
‘Fucking hell…’
He shakes his head astonished, his brain goes blank for a moment.
‘I- Jesus, baby…’ he pants, ‘You’re so hot you know that’
Eyes dark with lust no doubt and you exhale in relief at the sight of him. Eddie is at the loss of words.
‘And..?’ you whisper, fingers running through his frizzy hair.
‘Y/n, you’re my best friend’ he states, ‘I possibly couldn’t’
You whimper, as he breaks loose from your grip, standing upright in front of you. The dim light inside Eddie’s room gently hugs his tall posture. He runs his hand through his hair, trying to compose his breathing.
‘Don’t you want me?’ your hand darts up to your belly, slightly lifting the hem of your t-shirt. You have never done anything remotely so erotic and dirty at the same time. And you blush like a tomato but hope it is invisible in the dark colours of the room. Eddie groans, closing his eyes, eyebrow furrowed.
‘Do you like me, Eddie?’ you lick your lips, a nervous giggle coming up your throat. ‘Not as a friend, as a girl..?’
Eddie’s groaning again, now pacing the room. He stops again, looking down at you hungrily.
‘Ah fuck…’ his voice shaky. ‘I do but I might regret saying it, angel’
He looks overwhelmed. Nervous?
Oh my god.
‘Good’ you swallow slowly, and your legs fall open. ‘I promise it won’t ruin our friendship’
Eddie’s hypnotized. Bewitched. Drunk on the sight of you giving yourself so willingly and eagerly.
The world stops for a second and then falls apart as you whisper.
‘Then fuck me, Eddie, please’
He chokes on air but the view you’re giving him brings him back to life. Your words shoot straight into his groin, boiling his blood, as he strips himself of the shirt, throwing it over his head.
You’re offering him all you have, everything of you there is, hoping he’d take it all.
Eddie leans over you, running his palm from your ankle all the way up to your hip. Thumb stroking at the soft skin where your hip meets the torso, and you whimper greedily.
Cold rings brush against your skin. Fuck.
Your skirt rode up to your waist, giving full access to your panties.
Suddenly, he stops, eyes serious. Eddie looks down at you. His hair tickles your cheeks and you scrunch your nose.
He smiles, planting a soft kiss on it. And it is so loving, so gentle that you come undone.
‘Are you sure, princess?’ He asks softly. ‘Because I need you to know that I want you too, hell, I always did, but if you are not…’
You kiss him hard. It’s messy, greedy, needy. You feel your pussy throbbing painfully at the emptiness and you buckle your hips up, pressing yourself into Eddie.
He chuckles and pulls away, your lips part with a wet sound.
‘Can’t believe I’m about to fuck the most beautiful girl in a whole world’ Eddie smiles, hands buried under your t-shirt. Now he’s almost crushing you with his weight, cupping your breasts, he moves his hips forward. Heads bumping, you mewl like a cat, as his clothed dick grinds over your pussy.
Ache spreading deep inside your belly, you softly moan as Eddie speeds out the friction against your soaked panties.
‘Oh my fucking God…’ he chokes out as you sync in with his rhythm.
You whimper desperately wanting more as your lips glide over his neck. Eddie pants, hand travels between your thighs.
A sobbing cry escapes your lips when his fingers circle your clit.
‘Jesus…’ he whispers as he feels the wetness of you. Lifting himself up, Eddie yanks his jeans down his hips, enough for his dick to spring out.
You can’t breathe. You pant, reaching out, but Eddie stops you midway.
‘Wait, baby’ he huffs, fishing a condom out of the desk drawer.
‘Yes?’ he searches your face for approval seconds later and as you nod, guides himself inside you.
You groan lowly, and he scoops you up, forehead pushing into yours.
‘That’s it, angel?’
You only manage to shake your head ‘Yes’ paralyzed by the feeling of him moving inside you. By how beautiful he looked right now. By how good he felt.
All you can do is gasping for the air as a fish brought ashore while his hips pinning you down.
Yes. Eddie, yes.
God.
The tension builds up in your belly, walls tightening and everything explodes in a million colourful rays behind your shut eyelids.
Eddie’s wet mouth on your neck, marking you from this day on and forever. He’s rolling his hips one, two, three, four… And collapses down on you, face buried into your neck.
‘Fuck’ he chuckles, sloppily kissing your chin.
‘We’re still best friends?’ you laugh, thumb sweeping sweat-stuck hair from his forehead.
Slowly pulling out of you, Eddie doesn’t break eye contact, as he whispers:
‘Hell no, baby, we’re more than that now’

Summary: After a harsh encounter with your father, Eddie continues to clean you up in his trailer now that the coast is clear.
You and Dustin decided that sleeping over Eddie’s was a good idea. Dustin was supposed to do it anyways, and you didn’t feel in the condition to drive home, especially with him in the car. Your head was still killing you, and it hurt to walk for the most part.
After the boys had settled down from their little play session of running around the trailer, Eddie went in his room and grabbed some blankets and pillows for Dustin. “Woah, wait a minute. I’m not sleeping in a bed?” Dustin asks, as he follows Eddie out of his bedroom and onto the couch, where you sat. “Nope! I like you Henderson, but I will not be giving up my precious bed. Capisci?”
“But-“ Dustin turns to you to protest but you’re already giving him a death glare. “Eddie was nice enough to let us stay here. You’re lucky you’re not sleeping on the floor,” you say while Dustin’s shoulders fall in defeat. He turns to Eddie and Eddie wiggles the pillows and blankets. “Yeah, keep complaining Henderson and you’ll be outside.”
You chuckle slightly as Dustin accepts sleeping on the couch, and you get up so Eddie can set it up for him. “Where should I go?” You ask softly, rubbing your hands together. “You, lovely lady, can go in my room. I’ll be there in a minute.”
“Why does she get your room!?” Dustin protests, but Eddie hits his arm. “She’s hurt. And besides, she hasn’t been complaining this entire time. I think she’s starting to become my favorite Henderson.” You blush at his playful words, but Dustin is just kinda disgusted. “Don’t you dare start flirting with my sister! I liked it better when you two weren’t friends. Fuck.” You laugh a bit and glance at Eddie, but he’s already looking at you with a sparkle in his eye, causing your breath to hitch in your throat for a quick second. His eyes were beautiful.
“I-I’ll be.. I’ll just go now. Yeah..” you say a bit awkwardly. You clear your throat and walk toward Eddie’s room, hearing his chuckle fade. You walk into his room and it matches him exactly. It’s exactly what you thought it would look like. Posters of Metallica, Dio, and Black Sabbath hung on the wall, worn down but still standing. Magazines of metal bands flooded the floors and his desk, along with guitar picks and music sheets. On the nightstand besides his bed was a little notebook titles “dnd campaigns” which made you smile. It was cute how Eddie hated English class and yet kept a notebook of creative ideas for a game he was so passionate about.
You picked up the book and sat on his bed. You scrolled through the notebook, glancing at the thousands of words plastered on the pages. There were also some doodles on the corners of a couple pages, which made you smile. But there was one that made you stop scrolling and your smile widen.
It was Dustin. A cute little sketch of Dustin wearing his hat that said “thinking cap.” The sketch wasn’t as good to put in a museum, but the fact that you were just able to see that it was your brother made you smile widely. You knew Dustin loved Eddie like a lot, but you didn’t really put together that Eddie shared that same love. Now you definitely understand how wrong you were about him. You had always thought he liked to be feared, that he was a scary cult leader but really, it was the total opposite.
“Snooping, sweetheart?”
You jump from being startled, dropping the notebook on the floor and turn to face Eddie leaning against the door frame. “I-I’m sorry,” you apologize. “I know I shouldn’t have been looking through your stuff, but your room is awesome. It’s exactly how I thought it would be.” He smirks, a small blush forming on his cheeks at the mention of how awesome you think he room is. “So, you’ve imagined what my room would look like?” Your eyes widen as you chuckle at his playful banter, picking up the notebook. “In your dreams, Munson.” He puts his hand on his chest like he’s wounded, and sits down on his bed. “Who told you about my dreams?” You sit down next to him and throw your head in a circle, ignoring his rhetorical question. “How’re you feeling?” he asks with concern. You turn to look at him but he’s already looking at you with those goddamn puppy eyes. “Honestly, my torso hurts a bit.” He jumps up which, yet again, startles you. You were confused as to what he was doing when he went to his drawer and started looking through it, mumbling things you couldn’t quite understand. You see his tongue stick out a bit, which you find absolutely adorable. “Ah! Here it is,” he says quite loudly, turning around to face you.
In his hands were a couple of elastic bandages. “We can wrap these around you to help with the bruises on your torso and legs. Besides, it’ll make you look badass.” You chuckle softly as he sits besides you again, making the bed dip down. You admired how easily he can make you smile or laugh, even in the shittiest of moments. You never knew he had such a sense of humor. Maybe that’s why Dustin got along with him so well, so quick. You stare at Eddie as he unravels the bandage, ready to put it around your torso first. “You can totally do this yourself if you’re uncomfortable, but I need you to lift your shirt a bit so I can wrap this around you sweetheart.” You were a bit hesitant.
Not because it was Eddie, but because you didn’t want to reveal such a bruise. You felt it even if there was no pressure on it. It was throbbing and the pain was definitely there. For some reason, you were embarrassed.
Eddie noticed your hesitation and was quick to reassure you. “I know I’m supposed to buy you dinner first, but I promise I’m still a gentleman. Say the word, I’ll leave the room, and you can patch yourself up.”
“I know you’re a gentleman,” you say a bit too quick. “I just get a bit nervous to show people my injuries. Don’t know why,” you chuckle nervously as he gives you a small smile. “You don’t want me to see you differently,” he says. You tilt your head in confusion, wondering how he was able to connect with you so easily and understand what you were feeling. “My childhood wasn’t the best,” he admits. “Before moving in with Uncle Wayne at around 7, I lived with my dad. My mom split when I was young. Never really knew her,” he chuckles sadly, but you just continue to listen, leaning in a bit so he knows you’re really listening.
“My dad was a selfish prick, exactly like yours. Textbook definition and all. I always defended him though. Always told people he was amazing and the best father ever, even though he would do that same thing to me,” Eddie admits, pointing to your face quickly as he mentions the last couple words. Your eyes widen in surprise a bit, not expecting Eddie to share the same experiences as you and your brother. “It wasn’t until Uncle Wayne took me in that I started to notice the real reason I never told people the truth. I was embarrassed. Everyone spoke about their parents being the highlight of their life yet my highlight was a fantasy board game about warlocks and dragons and creativity. No wonder people call me a freak, huh?” Before you could respond, he shakes his head.
“But this isn’t about me. This is about you, sweetheart. I never told anyone that, but I needed you to know that I understand you. Maybe not personally, but I’m not exactly in the dark here, you know? So I get it. I’m here for you.”
I’m here for you.
Those four words were words you were longing for, and you didn’t even know it. Eddie saw tears form in your eyes as you just inhaled slowly in silence. “I’m sorry you went through that,” was all you said before a couple tears starting falling. “Hey, don’t cry. Come on, we should be patching you up like a potato head.” You chuckle in confusion, wiping a tear as he scoots closer to you. He was so weird.
“Like a potato head?” You question.
“Yeah,” he says nonchalantly. “Like, those weird doll things. That you put together and stuff? You can take off their eyes and mouth and then put them back on.”
“How does that relate to me?”
“Cause like.. you know. Putting you back together.”
“But I’m not broken.”
“Well no, but I mean, you’re not a potato either so don’t take it too literal, sweetheart.”
You hummed, smiling at him in silence. “You can patch me up,” you say after a moment. “I trust you. And besides, with these bruises, I don’t think I have the strength to turn too much.” He nods slightly and picks up the bandage again. “If you would be so kind, m’lady,” he says, mimicking the action of lifting up your shirt. You do exactly that, lifting up until it reaches right below your chest area. You saw Eddie’s face drop a little bit when he noticed your bruises, and it made your heart hurt.
It was a deep purple and it looked like it wasn’t done forming yet. The color circled from your belly button to your back, and went up about two or three inches. It was one hell of a bruise. Eddie had never seen anything like it. He was shocked this wasn’t from a car accident or something along those lines.
“Y/n,” he whispers, looking up at you. But he saw you were looking down with a slight redness to your face from embarrassment. So, Eddie being Eddie, he tried to make you feel better with the one thing he did best - humor!
“Ever go mechanical bull riding?” He asks, starting to wrap you up with the bandage. Very lightly, but it still hurt when you get his fingers graze your stomach. “What’s that?” You ask in curiosity. He looks up at you and scoffs. “What- wait, you don’t know what that is?!” He asks in disbelief. You smile and shake your head, as he mentally praises himself for helping you loosen up a bit. “You get on this mechanical bull, hence the name, and the operator tries to throw you off. It starts off slowly, but the longer you stay on, the quicker and harder it gets. Eventually you get thrown off. You only hold on with one hand though.”
You laugh, imagining yourself on it. “I’d get thrown off almost immediately. It sounds like a lot of fun though. I’d pay good money to see you ride it, Munson.” Eddie laughs, halting his hands and looking up at you. You were smiling wide now, almost as if nothing had happened within the last 24 hours. God, did he love your smile.
“Well guess what, sweetheart? I’ve gone on one before.” You gasp in surprise, your eyes widening as you lean closer to him. “No way!” You squeal. “Yep, no bullshit. Went with my band once and-“
“Corroded Coffin, right?”
He almost died right then and there.
“Y-yeah. That’s us,” he smiles. “Anyways, they dared me to do it,” he starts off, continuing to wrap you up. He was almost done. ”Once I got up there, it was actually decent. Stayed on for quite some time. Until that shit starting spinning. Let me just tell you, it was not a pleasant experience. Almost shit my pants and puked at the same time.” You laughed for probably the hundredth time tonight, and yet Eddie could listen to it until he died. He loved to make you laugh. It was his new favorite hobby.
He laughed along with you, finishing the wrapping of the bandage, admiring his work. You lower your shirt with a strain and a wince after a couple of minutes, causing him to look up at you. “You alright?” He asks in a sincere voice. You sigh, but nod. “As good as I can be. I just hope that little one out there is okay.” You say with as much concern as Eddie, turning your head to the door. “Oh he’s got a 5 star couch for the night. He’s more than okay, sweetheart.” He knew you meant about the whole situation. About your father and the fear and the hurt. But Eddie promised both you and himself that he’d protect the Henderson siblings. That meant both physically and emotionally. And he’s not one to ever break a promise.
You smile and put your hand on top of his, making him tense for a second. It was unexpected. “I can’t thank you enough.” He flips his hand and interlocks it with yours. “Don’t need to thank me sweetheart. It’s the bare minimum.”
You hum, knowing he’s right but still finding it a bit unbelievable that someone can be as funny and sweet as him. You hated how people called him a freak. You felt guilty for ever thinking of him other than a good guy. Dustin was right about him. He was so right.
“Anyways!” He says with enthusiasm, jumping up from the bed and slapping his thighs. “Let’s get you ready for bed, huh? It’s already..” he glances at his watch and is somewhat shocked. “12:17. Damn.” He opens his drawer, searching for some clothes he could give you. “Aha!” He says, similar to when he found your bandage. He pulls out a hellfire shirt, most likely an extra one since he was wearing his, and some black pajama shorts that were way too similar to boxers.
“I hope this is okay,” he asks. You smile as he places the clothes next to you on the bed. “It’s more than enough,” you reassure him. “Thank you Eddie.”
“Like I said sweetheart, no need to thank me.” He pulls out clothes for himself as well. An oversized Metallica shirt and red and black flannel pants. “How’s my outfit for the night?” He asks, putting the clothes up to his body and posing. You chuckle and shake your head slightly. “Makes you look like Metallica’s number one fan,” you joke. “Matter of fact, are you part of their band? With all the merch you have..” your voice trails off as Eddie smirks in satisfaction that you’re opening up to him.
“Ah, she’s got jokes, huh?”
“Guess you’re rubbing off on me, Eds.”
Eddie pauses, his breathing becoming a bit quicker than before. “E-Eds?” He repeats in a whisper. Your eyes widen in nervousness. “I’m sorry! I just thought that- I mean you call me sweetheart, so I thought a nickname for you would make sense. I’m sorry, I’ll stick with Eddie, I wasn’t thinking-“
“No!” He interrupts, making you stop talking. “I liked it. Trust me, I liked it. It was just unexpected, that’s all. Please, keep calling me that.” He knew he sounded kind of desperate, and he had to admit it was a bit embarrassing. But not to you. Your still expression turned into a happy one, as you bit on your bottom lip for a second. “Eds it is then,” you grin.
“I guess I am rubbing off on you, sweetheart. Nicknames, jokes. Third base for me is using humor to cope. Seems like you share that same trait, huh?” You chuckle, grabbing the clothes he left for you on the bed. “Don’t think so, Eds. Third base is me telling you about my father.” He smiles as you were able to make a small joke about the harsh events that had happened.
“Marriage seems like the next plausible option then,” he continues.
“Let’s elope.”
“Dibs on Dustin being my best man.”
“No fair, I wanted him as the flower girl!”
This time, it’s Eddie’s turn to laugh. Never in a million years had he thought he would be joking about third base and marriage with Y/n Henderson. Life surely is unpredictable.
“You go change now,” he says, his laugh fading a bit, but his smile ever faltering. “Let me check on Dustin.”
“Ever the babysitter,” you huff with a playful tone.
“Hey, that’s Harrington’s job.” You smile and glance at him once more, before disappearing into the bathroom with a click erupting from the bathroom lock.
Eddie is frozen in his room, replaying the encounter in his mind over and over again. You were definitely something else and he absolutely loved it.
You on the other hand were a blushing mess. “Okay,” you whisper to yourself, looking at your reflection in the mirror. The bathroom was quite small, considering it was a trailer home but you didn’t mind one bit. It was still spacey enough to change in.
After a couple minutes, you changed into the hellfire shirt and the shorts. The hellfire shirt was somewhat long on you, and when you would move a certain way, it made it seem like you didn’t have pants on. It made you chuckle a bit.
When you walked out of the bathroom and back into Eddie’s room, he was no where to be found. He was probably still checking in on Dustin and changing into clothes as well. You sat on the bed once more and lifted up the shirt to view the bandage. You ran your fingers along the material, feeling it’s rough surface. You winced a bit, but the bandage helped soothe the pain a lot.
You got back up after lowering the shirt and decided to explore Eddie’s room some more. Even though you did briefly before, it was cut short after he had caught you. You go over to his guitar hanging on the wall and play a couple of strings. It makes a small sound which causes your mind to drift to how and what Eddie would play. Definitely Metallica that’s for sure. You thought about if he would play Iron Maiden or even Möntley Crüe. After a couple minutes of thinking, you came to the conclusion that he for sure knew how to play songs from those two bands.
You shifted your attention the his nightstand beside his bed where you had previously found his dnd notebook. There were some cassette tapes and you knew you just had to go through them. What kind of music did Eddie Munson really listen to?
Majority of it was metal bands, of course, but there was one cassette that made you chuckle to yourself and smile widely.
Abba.
Eddie Munson listened to Abba. Maybe not religiously, like he did those other bands, but holy shit.
And as if on cue, Eddie walks through the door of his bedroom. The sight of you in a Hellfire shirt holding a Metallica and Abba cassette in each hand made his heart absolutely swoon. “I see someone’s snooping again,” he says with a bit of a shaky voice. Sure, his demeanor was confident, but seeing you in this way made his nervous. In a good way, of course.
“And yet again, I’m sorry,” you apologize. “But Abba?” You question. “No way the Edward Munson listens to Abba in his free time.” He scoffs at the name ‘Edward’ walking up to you and snatching the cassettes out of your hands, throwing them into his pajama drawer. “Calling me Edward makes me seem like an 80-year old grandpa.”
“You sure look like one.”
“Henderson with the jokes! Where is this coming from?”
“Like I said before Eddie, you’re rubbing off on me.”
“I think you’re right. I even have you in a Hellfire shirt.” Eddie couldn’t help but imagine that the shirt was his shirt. It was an exact match, they only had one design. It made him blush ever so slightly, but it went unnoticed by you.
“This is pretty comfy,” you say with happiness, gripping the ends of the shirt and hopping on his bed. You yawn softly and he notices, turning on the lamp next to him bed. “Why don’t you sleep, sweetheart? It’s been a long day, you need to rest.”
You nod slightly, getting under his comforter and laying down. He shuts off the overhead light and walks over to you, smiling while looking down at you. You meet his gaze and smile. “I know you told me not to thank you Eddie, but that’s all I can say right now. Thank you for helping me and Dustin.” He smiles at your kind words and nods, not trusting his voice to respond. He turns around to leave, but he feels you grab his wrist. He doesn’t move his body but turns his head so he’s looking at you once more.
“Where are you going?” You ask, a slight worry hidden in your voice. “I’ll just be in Uncle Wayne’s room. It’s right across the hall.” He tries to reassure you but your grip on his wrist doesn’t falter. “Please don’t go,” you whisper, making his heart beat faster than he thinks it ever has. “I.. I don’t want to be alone. I’ll know you’ll be in the other room but-“
Eddie doesn’t allow you to finish. With his other hand, he grabs yours that’s on his wrist and smiles widely at you. “Y-Yeah,” he stutters a bit. “Of course I’ll stay.”
He walks over to the other side of the bed and grabs a pillow, ready to set up on the floor. You sit up in his bed and look over at him. “What are you doing?” You ask, hands folded in your lap. “Setting up on the floor,” he says nonchalantly. “Oh..” you say in disappointment, and this doesn’t go unnoticed by Eddie. “What’s the matter, sweetheart?” You bit your lower lip in hesitancy. “Nothing, I just.. is it weird to ask if you c-can stay up here.. with me? I mean, the bed is big enough for both of us- obviously you know that, it’s your bed,” Eddie chuckles as you ramble on. “You don’t have to sleep with me- n-not like that, obviously! I mean if you don’t want to l-like.. fuck, I’m totally botching this, huh? I’m gonna go crawl in a hole.”
Eddie laughs, putting the pillow back on the opposite side of the bed and tilting his head toward you, silent for a moment. “Yeah that totally sucked,” he admitted, making you throw a pillow at him. It hits his face but he catches it before it hits the floor, making you laugh for a second. “Shut up,” you scoff. He sits on the bed with a hop, handing you back the pillow. You put it back under your head and lie back down. He looks at you as you snuggle yourself in his comforter, wondering what it would be like to see you like this every night. Magical is the only word he could come up with.
Soon he mimics your actions and turns toward you as you stare up to the ceiling. You were silent, the injuries on your face still very much evident. Eddie took his time to really take in your appearance, past the bruises.
Your side profile was beautiful. He had never seen anything like it and mentally degraded himself for ever ignoring you. You looked peaceful just laying on his bed and wearing his clothes. He allowed his mind to drift to what it would be like to go star gazing with you, or even take you out to Lovers Lake and have a picnic. He normally hates doing those sorts of things. It just wasn’t his style. But the more he got to know you, the more he realized that he’d do anything you’d ask him do. Dare he say, even listen to Tears for Fears and The Cure.
Your voice brought him out of his little daydream, as he realized you were now facing toward him and your lips were moving. “You’re not uncomfortable, are you?” You ask with concern. “Not one bit,” he admits a little too quickly. You smile, relaxing a bit and turning back to face the ceiling. “I hate that this is my life,” you whisper, causing Eddie’s smile to drop. He doesn’t say anything though. He just allows you to continue. “I just want a family. I want Dustin and I to be able to sit at a dinner table with others besides just us two. I want to talk about nonsense and have someone listen to me anyways because they care about me. I just want someone besides Dustin to care about me.”
“I care about you.”
“You basically just met me. You didn’t know me before.”
“And look at the impact you made. I could listen to you talk for hours.”
You turn your head to Eddie once again, feeling your heart race. “Really?” You whisper in disbelief. “Are you kidding?” He whispers back. “I was a fool to not have known you sooner. We could’ve been eating those microwaved dinners together and talked about nonsense for years!” You smile at the mention of microwaved dinners. Sure they tasted like shit most of the time, but they provided you comfort. Dustin too. He must’ve told Eddie about them.
“Maybe we can do that then,” you say with some confidence. “Like every Saturday or Sunday or something. The Henderson’s and the Munson’s. If that’s okay with Wayne, of course!” You had never met Wayne, but just by the way Eddie’s eyes lit up at his name, you knew he was a good parental figure toward him. “That sounds perfect, sweetheart. I’m sure Dustin would love it. Maybe we can teach you and Wayne to play dnd.” You chuckle at the thought of you playing the one game you swore you never would. Yet when Eddie mentioned the idea, you couldn’t help but feel hopeful that it would become a reality. “I actually really like that idea, Eds,” you admit. He hums and you could hear the happiness he radiates.
“I’m tired,” you whisper. “Sleep then, sweetheart. We’ve always got tomorrow to talk and goof around.”
“Eds?”
“Yes?”
“Are we friends?”
“I think sleeping in the same bed unlocks that level of our bond, don’t you think?”
“I do. I just wanted to make sure you thought the same way.”
“Don’t worry. We’re on the same page.”
You felt your eyes getting heavier as each word spilled past your lips. Sooner or later, you had fallen asleep, not even realizing the lingering touch of Eddie’s hand on yours.
Hours later, you presume, you woke up to a bright light shining through Eddie’s beat up window. You felt very warm, and looked down to realize that you were tangled up with Eddie, kind of like a knot. You felt your face heat up almost immediately when you say how your head rested on his chest and your legs were engulfed in his. His arms were wrapped around your figure, somewhat keeping you from moving or shifting without waking him up. You had to admit, it was the most comfortable you had been in a while.
You look up and see Eddie snoring slightly, his eyes closed and his mouth in a small smile. You wondered if he was dreaming and what it was about. While admiring him, his eyes fluttered open and instantly, he made eye contact with you. His raspy voice comes out in a whisper. “Hello sweetheart.” You smile at him and yawn, nodding to reciprocate the greeting. “How long have you been awake?” He asks, not breaking eye contact with you. “Just a couple of minutes,” you admit. Before he could respond, a harsh opening of the bedroom door startles you both, causing you to break eye contact and glance at the door. It was Dustin.
“Eddie! Where the hell is the milk? I’ve been looking for-“ his little rant was cut short when he takes in how you and Eddie are in each other’s arms, in the same bed, under the same sheets. “Please don’t tell me you two were fucking!” Dustin screams, turning around quickly. A deep blush creeps on your face almost instantly as Eddie starts to laugh. “Dustin!” You scold. “We weren’t- God, I need to teach you how to speak properly.”
“We’re out of milk,” Eddie says nonchalantly. You wondered how he could be so chill about what Dustin said, but when you looked up at him, you realized his cheeks were just as red as yours. It made you smile.
“How can you not have milk?” Dustin protests, turning back around to make eye contact with Eddie. “And more importantly, why the hell are you all over my sister?”
“He’s not all over me!” You yell, causing Dustin to roll his eyes. “I can see his hands wandering!”
“You must be hallucinating because his hands are-“
Before you could finish though, you were interrupted by Eddie’s fingertips circling your right thigh under the sheets. There was no way Dustin could see, but you would still deny it until your last breath. At first, you were confused why Eddie was doing what he was, until you looked up at him to see he was smirking but not looking toward you.
He was teasing you.
“J-Just go drink s-something else,” you stutter, trying hard to ignore the butterflies erupting in your stomach as he grips your thigh. “But I want milk!” Dustin says, stomping his foot. Eddie then speaks up. “Henderson, how about you drink some water? Stay hydrated, huh?” You were glad Eddie spoke up when he did. You didn’t trust your voice to not crack or stutter. Dustin huffs in annoyance, and leaves Eddie’s room with a quiet close of the door. One thing you had taught him was to never slam doors. Once Dustin was out of view, you slapped Eddie slightly on the chest.
“What the hell was that?!” You ask, getting up out of his embrace. You felt cold without him. “No way you’re mad at me,” Eddie fights back with a smile, getting up with a stretch. “I’m not mad, I’m just..” you didn’t really know how to feel. “Turned on?” Eddie jokes, which causes you to throw a pillow at him. “Am not!” You contradict, chuckling as he catches what you threw. “Sure Henderson, deny it all you want.” All you do is scoff playfully, looking at him with a smile. “Eds-“
“Go on a date with me.”
Your eyes widen in confusion and surprise at his sudden boldness. “W-What?” You stutter. He was on one side of the bed with you standing on the other side, so the distance wasn’t too far. “Stop me if I’m reading this wrong but I enjoy hanging out with you,” he admits. “And yeah, I love being your friend now but.. I want to care for you in a different way. I don’t want to apologize for my lingering touches or glance at you only when you’re not looking. I want to try with you. And hey, if it doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t work out. But I want to try this, Y/n.”
Y/n. That’s how you knew he was serious. Not sweetheart this time, but your actual name.
You were silent for a second before walking over to his side of the bed and smiling up at him. “I never would’ve thought that Edward Munson would be asking Y/n Henderson out on a date.”
“Again with the Edward.” You chuckle and pull him into a hug, which he doesn’t mind reciprocating. “Of course I’ll go on a date with you,” you accept. Your soft voice tickles his neck but he doesn’t care, it felt good.
“Yeah?” He whispers.
“Are you kidding?” You say, pulling away from him. “I’d be a fool not to. You helped me and my brother so much, it only proved how good of a guy you are. I want this, Eds. I want to try with you.”
He smiles, looking down at you. You’ve never seen him smile like that, not even when he’s playing dnd.
“Eddie! Get your ass out of that room! I want fucking milk!” You both hear Dustin scream with a voice crack. You laugh along side Eddie, not breaking eye contact. “Your brother is a handful.”
“What gave you that idea?”

Monday morning had Eddie Munson walking around his trailer with a scowl on his face and slithers of angers crawling up the back of his neck. His hair was unruly, shorter strands sticking out of his shag. Soft violet rings contrasted against the paleness of his skin as they appeared underneath the boy’s sunken, tired eyes.

warnings: allusions to eddie having a “past life”, mentions of having self doubts as a parent. i think that’s it?? let me know if i missed anything!
He’s covered in food, spit up. Probably pee, too. His head hurts from his hair being pulled. His stomach aches from not having time to eat. He’s exhausted. He never realized how much you had taken on being a mother until you went back to work at the newspaper office. He didn’t know how you did. How flawless you made it look. Motherhood suited you, and as much as he loved his baby, he wasn’t sure if he looked as graceful handling it all like you did.
“Come on, baby, eat something for daddy, huh?” His voice is soft, eyes wide and whimsical, hoping he can trick his daughter into taking her bottle. “If you’re cranky when mommy gets home that means mommy will be cranky. Mommy’s scary when she’s cranky, yes she is.” His using his baby voice, putting the top of the bottle to little Patty Munson’s lips.
It’s clear to him that she’s not hungry, even though it’s past her time to eat. She’s refused to go down for a nap, crying every time he’s put her down or left the room to use the bathroom. Eddie sighs, putting down the bottle on the table and leaning back into the couch. He holds her on his lap, the seventh month old staying upright by his arms. She smiles, making him laugh.
“Yeah, you think it’s funny watching me struggle, huh?” He wiggles his brows at her. “You just want held, don’t ya?”
Patty was going through another one of her phases where she couldn’t be alone, never wanting to be without mom or dad. She always needed to be in their arms, preferably mommy’s. “Well, I don’t have a problem with that.” He lifts her up and gives her a kiss on the nose.
She’s the carbon copy of him. Dark curls and brown eyes, pale skin and a birthmark on her right shoulder, same place as her dad’s. He worries one day she’ll be just like him. His older now, and when he looked back on his childhood, he felt guilty for worrying Wayne the way he did. He hoped he could raise his daughter to have more sense than he did growing up.
When five o’clock rolled around, Eddie had managed to get the house moderately straightened up. It was difficult with a baby attached to his hip. The dishes were done and the bed was made. Halfway through he had put her in the playpen, only to take her out when she had a meltdown. He nearly broke his neck running back to her.
“Oh, baby.” He nearly fell to his knees when you walked through the door.
“How’s my baby!” You smiled, running to lift your daughter from his arms. She was flailing her little limbs, squealing and laughing joyfully at the sight of you.
“I’m okay.” Eddie’s arm relaxes from the absent weight, the numbness running down his arm that he tries to shake out. “A little tired.”
You laugh at him, giving kiss after kiss to Patty’s cheeks. She’s giggling, drooling all over her red and white dress that was covered in food stains.
“Hi, baby.” You smile and turn toward him, kissing his cheek lovingly. “Rough day?”
“What makes you say that?” He sighs, running a hand through his hair. “House is still standing, isn’t it?”
You sit on the couch, holding Patty on your lap. Eddie sits down beside you, relaxing into the couch cushions.
You smile affectionately, grabbing his hand and giving it a squeeze. “Honey, are you sure you’re able to do this? I can take off work for a few more weeks if you need me to.”
“No, no, I’ve got it, babe.” He puts his other hand over yours. “I do. Promise. You did your part. Carried her for nine months and spent another six taking care of her. You need a social life to, y/n. It’s time I do my part.” He smiled at you lovingly, meaningfully.
“We’re finally at a place where money isn’t a problem,” He continues. “I want you to be happy and have a job you love. I don’t mind taking off work for awhile. Wayne and Gareth got the Job okay.”
Your emotions are flooding through you, causing you to get choked up inside. You sigh, laying your cheek on the dark curls of Patty’s head. “I am happy, Eddie. You have no idea how happy I am.”
He always chuckled when you said that, because he did. Eyes flickering between his now sleeping baby, cuddled into your chest, he rolls his eyes. “Now, she wants to sleep. I’ve been trying to get her to nap all day!”
You pat her back and smile happily, kissing the top of her head. “God, I love her so much.” You say quietly. “Isn’t it crazy? Loving her as much as you do? Sometimes I think my hearts going to explode.”
He never knew he could love someone as much as his daughter. When he met you, he never thought his love could go any further than that, but it was like his heart grew and made room for the both of you. It connected you, having Patty together. It made you closer than you could’ve ever imagined.
“I know what you mean.” His fingers squeeze her socked foot. “Sometimes I lay awake at night and just worry about all the things that could happen. I think that’s why I’m tired all the time.” He chuckles softly.
You understood that, too, nodding as you lean back into the couch pillow. He moved over to you, careful to not wake up Patty, and lays his head against your shoulder. “Thank you for giving me this life. I don’t deserve either of you.”
“Yes, you do.” You blink tiredly, looking down at his bushel of curls. “You deserve happiness, Eddie. I wish you believed me.”
He truly believed he didn’t. Though he was not the same man he once was, he had gone through his life a thief and cheating man, a liar and a conman. The things he had done haunted him at night, but you assured him he had done the things he needed to do to survive.
“One day,” He looks up at you, nose barely an inch apart. “I’ll make you my wife.”
You start to blush, eyes prickling at the sides. God, you were so happy. “Really?”
“Just say that one day you will be.” He whispers, glancing at your lips briefly. “Promise me you’ll be my wife.”
You sniffle and choke on a sob, smiling at him through your lashes. “I promise.”

Eddie Munson did not like you.
He knew that from the moment he laid eyes on you. No. Before that, even. He knew it from the moment Dustin had started gushing to him about you.
He was far too excited, vomiting information at him like there was going to be a quiz. “She’s just moved to Hawkins from New York, dude. It’s her second time doing Senior Year.”
Eddie bristled. Flunking senior year was his thing.
“I’m telling you, she’s wicked. She knows everything about DnD and she likes metal! You should’ve heard her talking about the last campaign she ran with her party in New York!” Eddie clenched his jaw a little, quickly realizing how dead set Dustin was on you joining the party. “You’ve got to meet her. It’s like you’re the same person! It’s crazy! You’re gonna love her, man.”
Eddie decided right then and there that the two of you were, in fact, nothing alike.
Hellfire that night only cemented his opinions.

A/N: Had this idea a while ago finally decided to write it down.
Dustin wanted something; you knew it. He’d been doing your chores, letting you use the bathroom to get ready in the mornings without complaining, letting you take the first shower, folding your laundry, which he knew you hated doing.
You hadn’t said anything, not one to look at a gift horse in the mouth. However, it finally came to a head when Dustin came into your room with this morning tray in hand (the one your mom always used to bring you breakfast in bed on your birthdays or when you were sick). a bowl of honey nut Cheerios, a glass of orange juice, and a bowl of mixed fruit sit on top of it.
“I made you breakfast,” he said as he walked to you.
You gave him a strange look as he sat it on your nightstand. It was the weekend, so you had just been lounging around reading your new book since you woke up. “Why?” You finally asked, sitting up against your headboard, taking the food and starting to eat, still looking at him quizzically.
“What can’t a little brother just do something nice for his older sister, whom he loves so much?” Dustin defended unconvincingly.
"Yeah, they can, but you don’t,” you said, rolling your eyes. “Come on out with it, shitbird, you wait much longer. I’ll have finished my food, and you’ll have to wait till you can make a whole other meal,” you joked, popping a grape into your mouth.
"Alright, fine,” Dustin sighed, sitting on the edge of your bed. “I do want something, and I want you to really think about it before you say no.” He trailed off, avoiding your gaze.
“Okay?” You egged, kicking his shoulder lightly, ready for him to get on with it.
"Well, you know how summer break starts next week, and I’ve outgrown science camp, and there’s no way mom would let me fly. You know how much planes scare her, and Susie’s parents wouldn’t let her either, but Mom would probably let me if you went to and drove me." Dustin paused, seeing the confusion on your face. “Would you take me on a road trip to Utah to visit Susie over the summer? Well, not the whole summer, but while it’s happening." Dustin finished rambling, looking at you hopefully with his best puppy dog eyes.
"Ugh,” you groaned. "Really, Utah, come on, it’s like the asscrack of America.”
“No, I’m pretty sure that’s Florida.”
“I don’t even have a car; how are we going to get there?” You asked, both loving and hating, the way your little brother's eyes lit up.
“Don’t even worry about that; I’ve got it covered. Is that a yes?” He asked far too excited at 8:30 in the morning.
“It’s a yes if you can find us a car and somehow convince Mom to let us go,” you told him, condescendingly.
“Yes! Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you; you're the best sister ever!” Dustin exclaimed, hugging you tightly.
"Yeah, yeah,” you mumbled, rolling your eyes as you tussled his hair. “I know, and don’t you forget it.”
***
That’s how Dustin found himself here, cleaning up after hellfire, about to ask Eddie if he’d be willing to drop his summer plans to drive him and his sister to Utah so he could see his girlfriend.
By some miracle, Dustin had convinced his overprotective mother to let him go, and Eddie was the last piece of the puzzle. Well, at least his van was deciding that even if it wasn’t the most reliable, it was the most spacious, meaning you’d have to spend less money on motels along the way, and you could fit more people, Lucas and Steve, on the top of his list to invite once he got the older boy to agree to this somewhat questionable plan.
“You’re oddly quiet, Henderson. What’s going on in the ginormous head of yours?” Eddie asked teasingly as he packed up his dice and began sliding his books into the book bag he’d had since his freshman year.
“What are your plans for the summer?” Dustin blurted it out, unable to keep it in any longer.
"Umm, I don’t know. Maybe plan a new campaign. I'm going to try to deal at some of the parties and make some extra cash. You know, I really enjoyed my last summer before I’m hurdled into a life of adulthood,” Eddie said, shrugging and throwing his bag over his shoulder. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m ecstatic about finally graduating, but now I have to actually grow up. It's a bummer." Eddie sighed jokingly, getting ready to lock up. They had one more hellfire meeting before school was over; it was all oddly emotional for him.
“Well, how fun does a road trip to Utah with your favorite little buddy sound for summer plans?” Dustin propositioned himself, smiling hopefully at him.
“Like actual hell,” the older boy deadpanned, walking out of the old drama room.
"Oh, come on, please, it’ll be fun, I promise, and me and Y/N really need your van,” Dustin pleaded, following after him.
“Y/N will be there?” Eddie asked, stopping in his tracks and smiling brightly when Dustin nodded. "Well, why didn’t you say so sooner? Utah sounds great!” Eddie exclaimed.
"Really, you only want to go for my sister?” Dustin asked with mock sadness in his voice.
“No Dustin I only want to go for your hot sister,” Eddie paused, laughing at the way Dustin’s nose wrinkled in disgust at his words. "Besides, you only want me to go for my van,” Eddie pointed out as they began walking to the parking lot.
“Fair enough,” Dustin shrugged, walking beside him.
“So where’s Utah, like Canada or something?”
“Oh my god,” Dustin mumbled, shaking his head, already regretting asking him to come.
***
After a week of anticipation a graduation ceremony where you, Robin, Eddie, and Nancy walked the stage and a lot of time spent making Eddie look at a map, it was finally time for your trip to begin. Dustin had been practically bouncing off the walls all morning, and he was excited to spend what you had calculated to be almost 23 hours in a car, not including stops.
Somehow, you ended up with six people coming on your little road trip: Eddie, Dustin, Steve, Robin, and Lucas.
Lucky for you, the Wheelers already had plans to visit the Byers, so you didn’t have to shove two more in there, and Max was going to summer camp.
You could practically hear when Eddie pulled into your street loud vehicle blasting music and erratic driving, doing nothing to keep him stealthy.
“Are you sure you guys really want to go?” Your mother asked you for the hundredth time. “Maybe you should stay.”
Dustin threw his head back, dramatically letting out a groan. “Come on, Mom, we talked about this. We’re going to be fine. You’ve got to give Dusty Buns a little freedom, plus I’ll be with him the whole time.” You paused walking over to Dustin, who was giving your mom puppy dog eyes, pinching his chin in between your fingers. “Besides, who could say no to this face?” you coed, knowing that as overprotective as she was, she had a hard time telling him no.
"Okay, okay, just be careful and call me,” she conceited, pulling you both in for a hug that you gladly returned as Eddie stopped his van. “I love you both; be careful,” your mom said, finally heading inside after one more hug for the both of you.
"Alright, come on guys, we’ve still got two more stops,” Eddie yelled from the van.
“Come on, DustyBuns, your damsel awaits,” you said, ruffling his hair and walking to the van.
***
After a few hiccups, I.E. Steve packing everything he owned you were finally on your way out of Hawkins Eddie driving you sitting shotgun with Dustin Steve Robin and Lucas in the back.
“I can’t believe this was the best way to spend my summer,” Robin groaned.
"Oh, come on, you guys, stop acting like we’re not going to have a blast,” Dustin said. "Besides, we’re already out of Hawkins, so you’re stuck,” he told you guys, mockingly pointing at the leaving Hawkins/Hell sign.
“Oh yeah, I guess we are,” Eddie said, distractedly casually flipping the bird to the sign as you passed it. “I guess you can probably come out now, red,” Eddie said, making everyone look at him in confusion.
“Finally!” You heard making all of you jump and shriek as you saw a figure jump out of the pile of blankets sitting in the corner of the van.
“Maxine Mayfield, what the fuck are you doing here?!” Steve yelled, clutching a hand to his chest.
"Yeah, she’s supposed to be at summer camp,” you scolded, seeing the smirk grow on Eddie’s face.
"Oh, come on, sweetheart, I couldn’t let one of my sheepies rot while we had all the fun,” he said, wiping the smirk off his face to pout at you comically.
"Yeah, Eddie was just helping me,” Max said, working her way to the front of the van and joining Eddie in looking at you pitifully. “Please don’t tell my mom I want to spend the summer with you guys.”
"Yeah, come on, doll, can we keep her?” Eddie asked hopefully.
"Yeah, let her stay,” Dustin and Lucas said, joining the side of Eddie and Max.
"Yeah, come on, we could use another girl." Robin joined in, leaving only you and Steve.
“Aww, what the hell, yeah, let’s let her stay,” and now you’ve lost Steve too.
“Please?” Max said one last time you looked at the whole van teaming up on you, eyes wide and sad as they waited for your answer.
And you almost held your ground until you looked at Eddie, his big brown eyes peering into your soul. His bottom lip jutted out.
"Fine,” you sighed, making the whole van erupt in cheers.
“Thank you, thank you,” Max said, hugging you.
“You’re really the best!” Dustin Lucas Robin and Steve all cheered one after the other as they went to talk amongst themselves, happy to have added a member to the group.
“Thank you, you’re my hero, princess." Eddie’s words caught your attention, finding his eyes already on you and smiling brightly.
"Oh, shut up,” you laughed, rolling your eyes as your face flushed at the nickname “And look at the road before you kill us all.” You finished pushing his chin to make him look at the road as you both laughed.
“Alright, road trip, baby, let’s go!” Eddie yelled, making the van erupt in cheers once more. You joined them this time, happy to be spending the summer with people you cared about.
Boy, were you guys in for it…

Eddie Munson x Henderson reader road trip au

An hour into your trip, you hear the first dreaded “I have to pee.” Of course, it came from Dustin.
"Really, come on, man, we’re barely even a town over,” Eddie groaned, pulling into the next gas despite his sentiment.
“I’m sorry,” he whined, dashing out of the car the moment Eddie put it in park.
“Maybe we should all try to and we can grab some snacks” Steve suggested Ever, the mother of the group.
"Ugh, fine,” Eddie groaned, throwing his head back. “But no drinks!” He yelled as your friends dashed out of the vehicle. “I mean it!”
“There’s no way they actually listen,” you told him, giggling as you got out of the car Eddie close behind.
“My lady,” Eddie said, smiling brightly as he opened the door for you, bowing slightly.
“Why thank you, kind sir,” you said, giggling and curtsying as you walked in.
After using the restroom, you were scanning the isles for a snack. Indecisive as ever, you finally settled on a bag of Cheez-Its, a pack of gum, and a nougat bar Dustin’s favorite for when he inevitably complains about being snacky (when he’s hungry but doesn’t want real food).
"This all,” the teen at the counter asked. Well, you think she was asking, but her deadpan tone made it hard to tell.
"Yup,” you said, smiling.
She looked up from your snacks, her unamused glare fixed on you.
“Hey sweetheart, spot me a pack of smokes?" You felt his arm before you heard his voice as he hung it lazily over your shoulder.
Casual touches like this almost fooled you enough to think that the boy you’ve been crushing on since you saw him perform at the middle school talent show actually liked you, or at least thought of you as more than his friends older sister, but then reality would always come crashing down on you when you remembered that Eddie was like that with everyone the pet names, teasing remarks, and touching. I mean, the boy was a walking ball of love to give, constantly looking for a new friend or a new lost sheep he could take under his wing.
No matter how many people teased him, judged him unfairly, or called him the most unspeakable things, he never gave up and always kept that signature Eddie Munson smile that simultaneously lit up the room and made you weak in the knees.
“Y/N?” Eddie asked, his concern-ridden face pulling you out of your thoughts as his arm slid awkwardly off your shoulder.
“Oh, yeah, I can,” you said, turning back to the unamused teen. “Uh, and a pack of Malboro Reds, please,” you told the cashier, surprised that the frown she was wearing could get deeper.
“You know my brand?” You could practically hear the shock in his voice—a deep blush taking over your cheeks.
"Yeah, I guess,” you mumbled as you paid for your things, purposely avoiding his eyes that were boring into you. “What?” You asked, turning back to look at him and handing him the cigarettes.
His doe eyes were soft, and there was a remnant of a smile he was holding back on his face.
"Nothing,” he answered through an awkward cough. “Come on, sunshine, the ass crack of America awaits.” He finished turning around to grab the door for you.
You quickly followed, telling the teen at the counter thank you and to have a nice day.
As you made it outside, Eddie broke off to go lean against the wall to smoke. As you finally made it back to the van, your cheeks were still ablaze from your interaction.
Everyone but Steve had made it back to the van, already getting settled in, to hopefully not stop for at least a couple hours.
After about 5 minutes, Eddie and Steve returned, Steve having two huge bags of snacks, so you wouldn’t have to get any more, hopefully.
"Alright, hellions, buckle up. We’re not stopping for a while,” Eddie said, pulling out of the gas station. “I’m just kidding. Of course, my van does not have seatbelts.”
***
"Eddie, I’m hungry,” Lucas whined, poking the boy in the cheek. “Can we please stop? You made us skip lunch.” He finished continuing to poke him.
"Sinclair, you poke me one more time, and I’ll cut your hand off and make you eat it. How’s that sound for dinner?” Eddie said it through clenched teeth and crazy eyes.
Lucas stopped his finger inches away from the boy's cheek cautiously after a moment of testing the waters; he seemingly gave up pulling his hand back.
Eddie let out a sigh of relief, unclenching his jaw, and everything was peaceful for about two seconds until Lucas decided that poking the bear was the best idea he could think of, poking Eddie’s cheek once more, smirking mischievously.
“That’s it!” Eddie yelled, pulling off to the side of the road, making all of you tussle in place as he abruptly stopped the car out of his seat as quick as lightning to tackle the younger boy to the ground. He was so quick, you almost missed the smirk fall off of Lucas’s face and the horror take over his eyes.
Which is how you found yourself in the driver's seat, looking out for a place to stop for dinner, with Eddie in the passenger seat slumped down, arms crossed over his chest as he pouted.
"Alright, let’s all get some food in us and stretch our legs, yeah?” You asked as you pulled into the first dinner you’d spotted.
Lucas and Dustin rushed out of the vehicle, the former fully recovering from the tackle he’d taken.
Robin Max and Steve took more time getting out, following the two rambunctious boys.
You, however, stayed in the van, waiting for the boy in the passenger seat to look anywhere but out the window quietly.
"Oh, come on, Ed's, you know you're hungry too,” you said, turning in your seat to face him fully. “And maybe your a tad hangry, and that’s why you tackled Lucas?”
"No, I tackled him because the little shit wouldn’t stop poking me,” Eddie snapped, finally turning to you, and while the vicious gaze of Eddie Munson was terrifying for most people, you thought it was adorable. He looked like a puppy trying to threaten you like a teddy bear with a knife.
“So you’re saying if it had been Steve in the driver's seat and he wouldn’t stop to get you food, you wouldn’t have done the same thing?” You challenged him, raising a brow. His frown softened a bit, a mischievous glint in his eyes, you assume, at the thought of annoying Steve Harrington.
"See, you’d think it was hilarious if it were Steve; your little sheep was just following in your footsteps.”
"Yeah, but they’re supposed to annoy other people, not me,” he grumbled, though you could tell he was starting to come around.
“Oh well, now you’re just asking too much,” you teased. “Now come on, I’ll buy you a milkshake,” you told him, hopping out of the driver's seat.
“Chocolate?” Eddie asked, head-whipped, to look at you.
"Ugh, fine, but I’m going to judge you for it,” you said, rolling your eyes as you shut the door and walked inside, Eddie following closely behind.
“Woah woah woah, sweetheart, are you trying to tell me you don’t like chocolate milkshakes?” Eddie asked, dramatic as ever, his hair whipping around as he shook his head.
“I mean, they’re fine, but vanilla is definitely better,” you said, shrugging. Eddie gasped loudly, clutching a hand to his chest.
“I can’t believe you just said that to me,” he said quickly as he pulled out a seat, gesturing for you to sit down.
You sat down flustered as Robin raised a brow at you, which only made your blush deepen.
“What’d you say to him?” Max asked.
“Get this, Red; she thinks vanilla milkshakes are better than chocolate,” Eddie scoffed before you could get a word.
Leading the table into a lively debate, with some taking your side while others took Eddie’s.
“You guys are all wrong. It’s obviously strawberry." Steve cut in your heads, all turning to him with disgusted looks.
"Okay, everyone can at least agree that Steve’s wrong, right?” Robin asks, eyes darting around the group as you all nod, “All right, it’s unanimous, Steve’s an idiot.” She finishes, and Steve looks offended while all of you laugh.
"Alright, I need to go smoke. You guys stress me out." Eddie shook his head, smiling.
“Those things will kill you,” you said, popping a fry into your mouth.
"Hey, you’re the one supplying me, so don’t get all high and mighty on me now, princess,” Eddie smirked as you rolled your eyes.
“That was a temporary lapse in judgment; I was distracted,” you shrugged, trying to play it cool, though the obvious blush on your face was giving you away.
"Aww, you saying I distract ya doll face?” Eddie asked, leaning in close.
"Ew, dude, are you really flirting with my sister right now?” Dustin interrupted, gagging immediately after he got the question out.
“See what I mean? Little fuckers are so annoying, I’m surprised I don’t smoke more,” he groaned, placing a cigarette between his lips as he stood up and made his way to the door.
“I’ve got to go to the bathroom,” you announced, getting up and speed-walking to the bathroom flustered.
"Really, Dustin,” Max scolded, smacking him in the back of the head.
"Ow, what was that for?”
“You totally just ruined their moment. Eddie was finally growing some balls, and you just stomped on them,” Lucas explained.
“What?” Dustin asked again, and the poor boy was obviously very confused.
"Really, Dustin, do we have to explain everything to you? You’re not a child,” Steve quipped sarcastically.
“What these doofuses are getting at is that Eddie has just now started shooting his shot, and you might have just deterred him for another what is it like nine years?.” Robin explained hoping the young boy would catch on.
"Wait, are you guys saying Eddie actually likes Y/N?”
“Oh my gosh, look at those boys. Sherlock finally figured one out,” Steve said, slow-clapping.
“Shut up, Steve,” Dustin seethed. “So Eddie likes Y/N? Does she like him?”
"Obviously,” Max yelled, quickly apologizing when most of the eyes in the restaurant turned to her.
“So all those times he’s called her hot, he wasn’t just doing that to annoy me?” Dustin asked, still bewildered by the new information.
“While I’m sure that is a perk,Steve started sitting up in his chair to pat Dustin on the back. “He’s got it; he's had it bad since his first senior year,Steve finished shrugging.
“I can’t believe one of my best friends has a crush on my sister, and none of you told me,” Dustin pouted.
“We thought you knew it was pretty obvious,” Max said, rolling her eyes.
“I don’t want to think about that; it’s gross.”
"Well, you better get used to it because our mission this trip is to get them together,” Robin told him as the group nodded in agreement. “And it was working perfectly without us having to do anything but put them in seats next to each other, and you might have just ruined it,” Robin grumbled.
“How am I supposed to know if you don’t tell me?!” Dustin argued.
“Tell you what?” Eddie asked, making the group jump and turn to look at the boy.
"Umm, uh, that there’s been something in his teeth for a while,” Lucas said as casually as he could.
"Nice,” Max complemented under her breath.
“Okay?” Eddie said, taking a seat and continuing to eat his food, “Hey, where’s Y/N?” He asked through a mouth full of food.
“She went to the bathroom,” Steve shrugged, sipping his milkshake.
Eddie’s head instinctively snapped towards the bathroom door, a deep frown falling over his features. When he was met with the beautiful sight of your smile and the crushing feeling that washed over him, he saw a guy, the one making you smile.
Eddie’s glare made everyone’s eyes shift to the bathroom as you giggled behind your hand at something the boy said.
And before the smart part of Eddie’s brain could even think of telling him to stay seated, he was on his feet, speeding faster than he could think.
You noticed him before he could even get a word out, turning to smile at him. “Hey Eddie, what’s up?” You asked, brows furrowed, man; he was so screwed if all it took was you smiling at him to turn him into jelly.
"Hey, sweetheart,” Eddie said, composing himself to smirk at you. “Who's your friend?” He asked, glaring daggers into the man in front of you.
"Oh, this is Chad; he saw me looking at maps and said he’s traveling west too,” you told him, smiling.
“How convenient,” Eddie bit out, his voice lashing in sarcasm.
"Yeah, man, a total coincidence,” Chad said, returning Eddie’s glare.
The two men stood in unmoving silence, glaring daggers at each other. You furrowed your brows, looking between them, rolling your eyes as far back into your head as they could go at your realization. “Oh my, are you two having a staring contest right now?” you asked, shaking your head in disbelief.
You took their unblinking silence as an answer: “Stop it, you doofus!” You exclaimed, smacking his arm lightly.
“Hey!” Eddie shrieked, “You made me lose!”
“Lose what exactly? What would’ve happened at the end of that contest? What would you have won?” You asked, arms crossing over your chest.
“I’m not exactly a hundred percent on the rules, but I’m pretty sure he gets you now,” Eddie deadpanned.
“Dude, I thought we were just asserting dominance.”
Eddie looked at the man with an expression somewhere between shock, disgust, and anger. “And that’s who won, thanks to you, sweetheart.”
“I’m not some prize, Munson,” you scoffed, walking back towards your friends.
"Yeah, no shit. I was joking that dude never would’ve beat me fair and square anyway.”
“I don’t need you to fight my battles or win me, and also, I was just talking to someone new. What is your issue?” You asked, turning to face him as you made it out in front of the diner.
“What’s my issue?!” Eddie challenged, “I don’t know, haven’t you ever heard of stranger danger? The guy was practically eye-fucking you the whole conversation.”
“So?” You asked, making Eddie scoff.
“So? So?” He asked back in unbelief, “You know what? Fine, whatever have fun getting murdered in the back of some creeps van!” Eddie exclaimed, arms waving, as he turned on his heels to stomp to the van.
“You’re unbelievable, you know that,” you said, stomping after him, “and stop walking away.” You grabbed his hand, making him turn to you and ask, “Why do you care so much?”
Eddie pulled you towards him effortlessly, pinning you up against the back of the van out of view of your friends.
His breath was hot and rugged as it fanned over your face, his doe eyes peering into your soul as he examined your face, his gaze darting between your lips and eyes.
“I care because I want you to be mine,” he whispered in your ear, his hand coming up to cup the side of your neck as you sucked in a breath. “You want that, baby?” Eddie teased biting your earlobe, and you whimpered.
"Oh, don’t worry, pretty girl, you will soon enough,” Eddie told you, inches away from your face, lips so close to touching as your body tingled in anticipation. Just as Eddie was about to close the gap, you were abruptly pulled out of your false reality by the very person you made it for. As he shook your shoulder gently, “Hey, wake up, pretty girl, we’ve got to get back on the road,” he whispered, moving some hair out of your face.
A deep blush set in at the pet name—the same pet name he had just used in your dream—coming into the front of your mind—that little voice telling you he knew but there’s no way he could know, right?
The existential crisis must have been showing on your face because Eddie was looking at you concerned. “You okay, sunshine, you look a little dazed. Nap that good?” He asked, quirking a brow.
"Yeah,” you said almost too quickly, "um, I didn’t even realize I felt asleep.”
“Oh yeah, you feel asleep on my shoulder a few minutes after you came back from the bathroom,” he shrugged.
"Well, you have a comfortable shoulder, thanks, pal,” you said, froging him in the arm, quickly getting out of your seat and speed-walking to the van.
“That was painful,” Robin said as she exited the diner behind you.
“Did I just call him pal and punch him in the arm?” You asked, your head falling on her shoulder.
"Yeah, it was pretty hard to watch,” she deadpanned. "Robin,” you whined.
“Right, sorry,” she said as she started to run a comforting hand through your hair. “What even happened to get you that flustered?”
“I kind of had a sex dream about Eddie,” you mumbled, your voice muffled by her shoulder.
“You had a sex dream about Munson, while you were napping on him,?!?” she said a bit too loudly for your taste.
“Shhh Robin”
"Right, sorry, you had a sex dream about Munson?” She repeated it in a whisper.
"Well, kind of, I was woken up before any actual sex happened, but that’s where it was leading,” you told her, finally lifting your head. “What am I going to do? I feel like a perv.”
"Okay, first of all, it’s completely natural, and second, maybe that’s your subconscious way of telling you to, you know, make a move,” Robin said, biting her thumb nail.
“You think I should make a move on him? Does he even like me?” You asked, pulling Robin's thumb away from her mouth.
“Are you kidding me? You were totally just drooling all over him in your sleep, and he didn’t even bat an eye at the guys.”
“I drooled on him.” You half asked, half whined, her head failing back into place on her shoulder.

“Did she just call me Pal?" Eddie asked through a dejected sigh, slumping in his seat.
"Yeah, she also drooled on you a little bit,” Dustin pointed out, poking a spot on his shoulder over the table.
“And I find that unbelievably adorable. I’m so fucked. I just got pal zoned. I think that’s worse than the friend zone,” Eddie whined, beating his head on the table.
"Oh, stop that. She didn’t mean anything by it. She just got flustered. She likes you, okay. Stop stressing and dancing around it flirtatiously and just ask her out.” Dustin told him, his eyes rolling as far back into his head as they could go.
“She said that?” Eddie’s head perked up like a puppy who had just been offered a treat.
“Not exactly, but I’m her brother, and a brother knows." Dustin shrugged, standing up. “Just go for it, man, she’s into you. I promise, just you know, maybe don’t do it in front of me because gross.”
“When did you get so wise?” Steve asked, hands on his hips, sassy as ever.
“I’ve always been wise; you deepshits just never notice,” he said, sticking his chin high as he walked off.
“No wonder his head is so big; it’s got to fit that massive ego.”
***
It’s been two hours since you stopped for dinner and 12 since you started the trip as a whole. Eddie had driven for another hour after you stopped before you made him stop and let Steve drive before he felt asleep at the wheel.
Steve and Robin were now in front. Robin passed out until Steve would shake her awake to ask for directions.
And other than the sound of Steve’s quiet humming and soft snores coming from the kids, the van was quiet.
Eddie was out cold the second his head hit the makeshift pillow of his waded-up leather jacket, stirring occasionally to find a more comfortable position.
You were in the limbo between resting and actually sleeping, not completely awake and not completely asleep, when you felt something touch your side. You turned your head, smiling sleepily at the sight in front of you. Eddie, who was already close due to the big group and limited space you had in the back of the van, had moved to lay on his side, one arm curled under his arm to replace the jacket that was now thrown over his body lazily, his other hand poking out just barely grazing your side. You could feel the coldness of his fingers through the thin material of your tank top.
You sat up frowning on the lookout for another blanket, but it seemed that every one was being occupied. After a few minutes of trying to plan in your sleepy state, you finally decided on just sharing yours with him. It wasn’t huge, but you think it could fit over both of you if you shifted a little closer.
You gently pulled the leather jacket off him, setting it aside, grabbing his hand, and moving it closer to his own body as slowly as you could, smiling proudly when you managed to do so without disturbing him.
After shifting as close as you could without actually touching the boy, you took your time situating the blanket, making sure it covered him as much as possible. You finally laid back down yourself, too tired to be anxious about the little amount of space between the two of you.
You had just closed your eyes when another touch pulled you out of your almost-sleep. This time it was more than a few fingers. Eddie was now curled into your side, arm thrown over your waist, head resting on your collarbone without even thinking you started lazily ruining a hand through his curls, making him snuggle into you further. You felt your body relax against him, starting to pull you down into sleep, finally letting it take you. You lay there with a sleepy smile on your lips, content to lay like this the rest of the night. Even if you weren’t really sure where this would leave you, when you wake up, you couldn’t find it in yourself to care. Relaxing in the heat, his body was now suppling, finally closing your eyes to let sleep take you.

eddie most definitely isn't used to anyone wanting to 'show him off', anyone he has ever liked or had a 'thing' with had either ghosted him or wanted to keep it on the downlow. so when he finally gets into a relationship where he gets to hold hands and kiss and be cute in public, it's all very surreal to him. he was the 'freak of hawkins high', why would anyone want to flaunt him around? but you did. you parade him around, constantly talk up his band and how much of an amazing dungeon master he is. you call him things like 'babycakes', and 'lovebug', and while at first he was confused, he now adores it. he's constantly having to tell you that he doesn't need you to buy him gifts, or anything for that matter, and yet you can't help but shower him with them. you always make sure he has the newest record of his favourite bands, sometimes even having to specially order them in, but you didn't mind because you'd do anything to see the way his face lights up when he opens them. it's safe to say that after you, eddie munson is absolutely a hopeless romantic ᰔ
