♥𝐼 𝒶𝓂 𝓈𝑜 𝑒𝓍𝒸𝒾𝓉𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝑜 finally be revealing this piece. I swear this took about a week, maybe two? My sense of time has escaped me because I have a literally put all of my blood, sweat and tears into this whole beautiful piece of art.
It’s not really something that I’ve done before because I’ve always stayed in the comfort of black lines, however I wanted to branch out and do something different and feed my fellow artist lovers and followers and mutuals. Originally I was just working on poses and was trying to just get used to drawing figures in different positions, and then I suddenly got the urge to draw a little bit more and then it kind of expanded and my imagination just ran wild and then this piece came to mind (and I spent too many late nights surfing through Disney+). But along the way I kind of just started to wonder what it would be like to envision the characters in a more classical sense of literature. And this is what I pretty much came up with. I hope you guys love it because I love it so much I feel like I’m going to cry because I’m finally done! And I am super excited for whatever next piece is to come.
I love my valkyries somuch
Gwyn bared her teeth. “I refuse to leave you here.”
Emerie’s pained face told Nesta enough: she understood. Saw the logic.
Nesta said to Gwyn, “It is the only way.”
Gwyn screamed, “IT IS NOT THE ONLY WAY!” And then she was sobbing. “I will not abandon you to them. They will kill you.”
“You need to go,” Nesta said, even as her hands began shaking. “Now.”
“No,” Gwyn wept. “No, I won’t. I’ll face it with you.”
Something deep in Nesta’s chest cracked. Cracked open completely, and what lay within bloomed, full and bright and pure.
She wrapped her arms around Gwyn. Let her friend sob into her chest. “I’ll face it with you,” Gwyn whispered, over and over again. “Promise me we’ll face it together.”

I'm watching an anime (from 2003) called "Uninhabited Planet Survival" and the main character, Luna, is so Gwyn coded ITS DRIVING ME NUTS.
But then, we also have whom I like to believe is the male MC, Kaoru, and he is LITERALLY AZRIEL
BUT THEN, we also have the secondary characters that are pretty much HALF THE CHARACTERS OF ACOTAR.

I saw it for the first time when I was 12, and now rewatching it on my 20s AND I ALWAYS SHIPPED LUNA AND KAORU.

my little Gwynriel fic because I am listening to a House of Wind library ambience and it has teleported me to another realm. Just fluff because it's quick but my Valkyries are here and they make me soft. Anyway, enjoy!
Nesta, Emerie, and Gwyn were in the library. That had been as much as Azriel's shadows had reported to him before frantically going in the direction of the library.
With a sight, with Rhys and Cassian behind him, he made his way to the library, fully aware of the quietness that was inside the place. Once he reached the closed doors, he knocked softly and opened the door, ready to go in, but the scene he found froze him in his spot, and a part of him noticed how his brothers stopped and took the scene in.
For starters, the library had cushions everywhere of every colour with piles and piles of books filling the floor, teapots whistling softly on a small stove, and the three most feared Valkyries spread throughout the place.
Nesta had found her place on the window, sitting on a cushion so big that it appeared as if it could swallow her. Her feet were tugged in under her, and a frown had been set on her brow as she read the book she was holding between her hands and supporting with her legs, the name of which was impossible for him to see.
Emerie, on the other hand, was near the bookshelf. Her wings were relaxed, and the smell of floral oils seemed to emanate from her. She had a thick blanket covering her legs, but her feet peeked under it as a soft smile was plastered on her lips.
When Azriel found Gwyn, he had the urge to laugh out loud. She was on the floor, lying on her back, as an invisible hand kept the book right on top of her. Her feet were moving happily, her hair like a valley of flowers under her hair and pooling on the floor, a soft blush on her cheeks as her lips moved quietly following her reading.
With astonishment, he noticed how his shadows were moving around her, caressing her skin in subtle ways. Her fingers moved against them as if she could feel them between her hands.
She looked peaceful. She looked beautiful. She looked safe.
With his heart on his throat at the sensation of having witnessed something beautiful, he turned to his brothers, motioning for them to keep quiet with a finger on his lips. Both Cassian and Rhys nodded, their eyes soft as they stared at the females, who seemed at peace in their own space, undisturbed and happy in their quietness.
Reluctantly, they moved out of the room and closed the door quietly behind them to not bother them.
Azriel took a deep breath, taking in once again the petrichor smell that surrounded Gwyn, and stepped away, knowing she was safe.
His shadows, however, stayed with her. Making sure she was safe, holding her in the way he secretly wished he could.
ACOTAR Characters at Hogwarts Part 1
***THIS FEATURES SOME MINOR SPOILERS FOR ACOSF***
This is mostly the main players in the series right now with a couple smaller characters thrown in just because. I’ll be posting a part two with side characters like the other high lords etc. I will not be taking criticism at this time, thank you.
The Inner Circle
Rhysand: Slytherin
Okay, Rhys is a pretty obvious one I think. He’s ambitious, resourceful, and a natural leader. It just makes sense.
Cassian: Hufflepuff
So here’s where I might get some argument. Now, I will admit, I’ve gone back and forth on Cassian myself. I see a lot of people sorting him into either Slytherin (which is absolutely wrong, y’all wild) or Gryffindor. Gryffindor does make sense for him and I can see that, but hear me out. Cassian, at the end of the day, is a Hufflepuff. He’s a lover and he’s ultra loyal and dedicated to the people he loves. He’s a hard-worker who doesn’t give up on anybody or anything. Plus, he’s just there for vibes and a good time which is big Hufflepuff energy. Cassian is a Hufflepuff, nobody can change my mind.
Azriel: Ravenclaw
Az was a tough one to pin down, but I think Ravenclaw suits him. He’s kinda the weirdo of the group, and of course, he’s all about collecting info and intelligence, being a spy.
Feyre: Slytherin
Again, this one just makes sense. She’s ambitious and cunning. Her entire character arc for the first book was mostly based on her sense self-preservation, and learning to care for people outside of herself.
Morrigan: Gryffindor
Mor is another obvious one to me, though there might be some argument for Slytherin. I think Gryffindor suits her better, though. She brave to the point of being chaotic. She wakes up and chooses violence everyday. She’s also wildly impulsive. Big Gryffindor energy.
Amren: Slytherin
Of all the Slytherins on this list, I think Amren is the most blatantly Slytherin one. Not only that, but she pushes Feyre and Rhys to be more Slytherin-like. She’s ambitious and is all about self-preservation. She wants Rhys to be more in control than he already is, as evidence by her explaining to him that he could basically use Nesta as a weapon to become High King. I don’t think there’s any argument here.
Nesta and Elain + friends
Nesta: Hufflepuff
And again, some argument might come with this one. Like Cassian, I think an argument could be made for Nesta being in another house (namely Slytherin or even Ravenclaw), but she’s a Hufflepuff at the end of the day. She’s not particularly ambitious or cunning, this is made obvious by the fact that she didn’t give a shit about her power, and she didn’t care when Lanthys gave her visions of being High Queen. She just wanted to be with Cassian, and her friends. She’s also fiercely loyal and dedicated when she truly cares about someone, and even when she doesn’t care about people in some cases, Mor being a great example. The two of them aren’t necessarily besties, but she hated Eris just on the premise that he harmed Mor. And she also loves very deeply, even though she doesn’t show it in the same way as Cassian and other characters. She’s a Hufflepuff with some anger issues.
Gwyneth: Ravenclaw
This is another obvious one. She gives off big Luna Lovegood energy. She’s an adorable weirdo, and she’s obviously super intelligent. She’s the one who did all of the research and told Nesta and Emerie about the Valkyries, after all.
Emerie: Slytherin
Emerie was another hard one to pin down, but after consideration I finally settled on Slytherin. I think she shows a lot of ambition and a good sense of leadership throughout ACOSF. She takes over her father’s shop when he dies, and fights anybody who tells her otherwise. She has big ambitions of being more than a shopkeeper, even though she’s an Illyrian female with clipped wings. She doesn’t let it hold her back.
Elain: Hufflepuff
So we obviously haven’t seen a lot of Elain in the books. I’d really like to see her character developed in a book based solely on her in the future so we can get more details about her character, but based on what we have seen she’s pretty obviously a Hufflepuff. Loyal, kind, hard-working.
Nuala and Cerridwen: Ravenclaw
I put them together because I kinda make the same argument as Azriel for both of them. They’re both spies, so they’re obviously into collecting info. I could also see Hufflepuff. Don’t really feel to strongly about this one.
The Redemption Arc Trio
Lucien: Hufflepuff
First of all, I know Lucien didn’t really have or need a redemption arc, I just didn’t know where else to put him. I think he’s pretty obviously a Hufflepuff. He’s loyal to the point of blindness when it comes to Tamlin and the Spring Court. He’s also just a soft boy who wants to love and deserves to be loved.
Tamlin: Ravenclaw
A lot of people place Tamlin in Slytherin, but I don’t think that quite suits him. He’s not particularly ambitious and he’s not a natural leader, like Rhys. This is made obvious in the fact that he hasn’t changed much about his court since he became High Lord, he’s kept all of the same traditions and rules in place, and followed his father’s lead. He’s only High Lord because there was no other choice. As for why I chose Ravenclaw, I think Tamlin is an artist at heart. He’s obviously very creative if he composes his own music and plays the violin so this fits a Ravenclaw vibe.
Eris: Slytherin
Eris is a Slytherin through and through. He’s ambitious and has big plans for his court when/if he becomes High Lord. He’s also shown that, in his mind, the ends justify the means. As shown by him offering to kill his own father because he thinks it will benefit his court to have a new High Lord. I don’t think you could make an argument for any other house here.

Here is a fun festive commission of the Valkyries for all of my Gwynriel and Valkyries stans . Found family has always been really big in SjMs books and I absolutely love the relationship Nesta , Em and Gwyn share in ACOSF .
My Headcanon is that Nesta being the Queen she is she would find a way to share solstice with her found sisters too create small traditions that is exclusive between them.

My addition for @sjmromanceweek 2023 day 7 free day. I wanted to write about a couple I haven’t written much for before, but also to write about platonic love and the Valkyries’ chosen sisterhood as a kind of valentines too. Galentines ftw :)

"Em?" Nesta called out, setting a fresh set of spices and hot chocolate powder on the countertop of Emerie's small Windhaven shop. She knew her friend would never outright ask for them - Nesta had taken up the habit of snooping in Emerie's cupboards whenever she came to help out in the shop to check when she needed more. She told herself that it hardly counted as snooping when Emerie would never ask for herself, but she couldn't deny that she may have been nosing a little more often after she had started noticing things here and there - a second wine glass out, someone else's jacket hanging on the door…Nesta knew that Emerie would tell her and Gwyn everything in time, knew that she would just have to be patient for whenever Emerie decided that it was time to fill them in, but Nesta was not known for her patience.
Gwyn set down a romance she had promised Emerie beside the spices, looking around the shop with her wide, teal eyes. She still rarely strayed from the library, and even then it was only ever usually to the safety of Velaris streets. Like the first time she had been here, the priestess looked mildly like she might vomit out of panic, but she smiled at Nesta's reassuring glance. She could hardly blame her for her nervousness - the last time all three of them had been staying at Emerie's together, they had all been kidnapped and taken into the blood rite. Thankfully Rhysand had heavily warded and protected the shop since then.
Even so, Emerie should be up by now. She was almost never late opening the shop, and even though it wasn't set to open for another half hour or so she was usually already pottering around whenever Nesta came in to help out for the day.
It was hardly like she needed the help, to be fair, but they both enjoyed the company and Cassian was more than willing to drop her off on his way to working in the Illyrian camps. Scaring off any asshole customers that were hassling Emerie with her supposed 'witch powers' came as an added bonus.
"Emerie! I know you can hear me, I brought that fancy hot chocolate!" Nesta called again, huffing to herself as she crossed her arms. Gwyn's worried glance had her shaking her head once more. "She must have overslept. Come on" she reassured quickly, stepping behind the till to the small staircase. Emerie's rooms sat above the shop.
Nesta paused halfway up the stairs, Gwyn frozen behind her as Emerie's door slammed loudly behind her. The Illyrian surveyed her friends with wide, surprised eyes. Her dark hair was in an unruly tangle, her shirt only half-buttoned, and if Nesta looked closely enough…yes, her pants were on inside out too.
"Rough night?" Nesta asked with a wicked grin, cocking one eyebrow as Gwyn rose on her tiptoes to peer over her shoulder at their friend. Nesta felt Gwyn's chest shake with barely contained giggles as Emerie blushed, rolling her eyes at the pair of them.
"I was just getting ready, thank you for coming to help with the shop, I'll be down in ten minutes or so? Just let me-"
"Babe, do we have any-" Mor cut herself off as she stepped out of the bedroom seeing the two Valkyries staring in disbelief at the pair of them. She was still in her characteristic scarlet, but this time as a barely-there nightgown scandalous enough that it instantly had Gwyn's pale cheeks flaming. Her lips still held the faint smudges of her lipstick, the same colour barely visible on Emerie too. The four of them stood there for a moment, Gwyn and Nesta meeting the Morrigan's carefully tailored unfased stare as Emerie clearly silently begged for the ground to swallow her up then and there.
"Didn't realise that we were interrupting. We'll be downstairs while you put some clothes on!" Nesta said fair too chipperly as she turned on her heels, shooing Gwyn down the stairs as the redhead teasingly waved goodbye to Mor and Emerie.
It was a few minutes before Emerie reappeared downstairs, Mor presumably having winnowed off to attend to her duties as third in command of the Night Court. Emerie's stare practically dared either of her chosen sisters to say anything.
Nesta and Gwyn took one look at each other before immediately bursting into raucous laughter. Emerie huffed, sitting beside them and stealing a spare mug of hot chocolate, hiding her own smile in the marshmallows.
It was Gwyn, stealing breaths between giggles, who finally managed to say "No wonder you've been so happy at training recently!"
Emerie couldn't hold back her own laughter any longer at that comment, grinning to herself as she shook her head.
"Go on, Em. Tell us everything" Nesta murmred, the three Valkyries leaning in closer to discuss the new gossip over the hot chocolate.
