I put my Easter candy in the cupboard so when I want some I will have to walk for it. Might burn half a calorie.

Roomie laughed at this. But I just went for some candy and she’s freaking hiding it around the apartment so I have to hunt for it and maybe burn a whole calorie!

I saw a comment about tabata(spelling?) or hiit? As some one who has been so unhealthy over the pandemic and wants to get back into some semblance of a routine and/or shape, are those things a good avenue? Would you have any other suggestions?

Oh hey dude! Yeah i just started doing tabata/hiit following free youtube videos. It's good for fitness and getting the blood pumping. And workouts range between 10 and 30 minutes. Those 10 are more than enough for me at this stage haha! You're not alone in struggling with this, global circumstances or not. I'm not a super training buff, but i started out with a core strength routine 2x-3x times a week for a month and a half or two before i moved on to tabata. A few things to keep in mind when you're starting out:

Achievement is not the goal in the beginning, start with mastering to do things regularly.

Anything is better than nothing!

Be kind to yourself, but do push your limits once you're starting to get a hang of it

multiple reps are better than doing lots of one exercise. i.e You'll get more out of doing 15 situps 3x times during a workout than doing 50 in one go.

It might be tempting to push far and try and do excercises every single day, but remember that muscles need time to recover inbetween workout days

I also combine my tabata with some of my core strength excercises so I'm actively working out for 15-20 minutes 3x a week and end them with a guided stretch routine at 15 minutes to wind down and work on flexibility
